    BAD ASS COMMENTS ... NOT

Ran across Bad_Ass on Ladder as I was playing for my UU Voting stuff ... a worthy yet nooby foe he was.

:kongler:dude24 IS A BIG NOOB. I stand by this.

    I am fuk Dragons
bad ass is well he is BAD ASS

The following Pokemon had Leftovers removed:
    BAD ASS's TEAM: Donphan
    fuk dragons' TEAM: Rotom

*Some percentages may be off because im going by hand, which means im not rounding like shoddy does. because of this, some things look weird (like a certain pokemon being hit with 3% more than needed to to ko) but this is just the problem with precentages, not with anything else

I am matched up against bad ass and find myself against another dang Mesprit. These things can carry anything ranging from Twave to SR to Thunderbolt, but I have found that they always are either slower than Omastar or will just Stealth Rock. I try to get the early jump on BAD ASS by using Stealth Rock, but to my surprise, he U-Turns out. I have to assume this is a Scarf or CB Mesprit, probably the former as U-Turn did so little and my Omastar is very weak. BAD ASS brings in Azumarill, who is very annoying for this team because of Aqua Jet (I'm using fast but frail sweepers to ladder climb). Azumarill can't do much but it could have Substitute and I won't do enough with HP Grass to actually beat him in the end. I will just use Spikes as I scout his move.

sadfasdfasdfasdf FUCK I hate omastar with a fiery, burning passion. It also means he will be paired with a spin blocker, which means I am going to have to work extra hard to win this match. Especially if it is a Rotom since my normal spinning strategy is Pursuit + Donphan. And Houndoom hates Thunderbolt. Turn one I decide to U turn out since oh-so-many Omastar Spike first turn on Mesprit fearing a Trick. My team’s bane is Stealth Rock and bulky waters, and Azumarill is my number one switch in. It can poison shit like Milotic, crippling it, and it’s the only thing that won’t suffer 50% - OHKO.

Azumarill's Waterfall does a ton, indicating that it was Choice Banded to me. So far, BAD ASS has 2 Choiced Pokemon - could this be a Choice team? Those can be rather scary for my team so the extra entry hazards is much appreciated. I figure I should dent Azumarill now to limit its future switch-ins, so I use HP Grass, hoping to do around 50% if I am lucky.

Yea KD24, I have a fuckton of choice users; four! I use Waterfail and miss out on the KO by a measly nine percent. Superpower would’ve helped here. I am really suspicious of this Omastar-outspeeding 88 speed Azumarill and taking 71% from it. The 20% tipped me off, but I thought it may have just been a high damage roll. I’m expecting him to Spike again, so I’m just going to kill it. In retrospect, going to Mesprit is the right move here. Meh.

Hidden Power does a fair amount to Azumarill and he gets a needless critical hit with Waterfall. I have to decide my next switch-in of either Electrode or Rotom. Both will OHKO with Thunderbolt, but thinking ahead, he probably won't keep Azumarill in on Rotom, giving me a free chance to Substitute (He knows this is a very offensive team, which might make him think Scarf Rotom).

Well fuck. He shows himself to be some kind of offensive Omastar, so I’m guessing he’s running some sort of fast stall or offense with Omastar as his suicide hazards. Either way, I have no control about the next turn, so let’s just see what he brings in and act from there.
    ---
fuk dragons switched in Rotom (lvl 100 Rotom).

I decide to go to Mesprit here for a few reasons. Tauros isn’t enjoying STAB Thunderbolt to the horns, _____ is not beating Rotom, and Houndoom isn’t going to take 37% when he could sub, like he does here. I could’ve sent out Houndoom, and here I seriously considered it since I outspeed, but I recently dropped my reliable dark stab for Thunder Fang. I end up going to Mesprit since I’m pretty sure he can’t OHKO me with Shadow Ball, and if he didn’t sub then I could trick. Nah, just kidding. It's KD24 so i just clicked a random move

I get my Substitute like I wanted and he brings in Mesprit again. This time, I am prepared to kill it with Shadow Ball.

I gotta Zen Headbutt here. If I live through the Shadow Ball, I’m just going to attack it again to put a good 45% dent in it. It’d be worth sacrificing Stealth Rock.

Unfortunately, Shadow Ball didn't hold up it's end of the deal and Mesprit remains with a fully functional Zen Headbutt at its disposal. I don't want to by flinched by the .. fairy(?) and so I bring in my Psychic resist, Drapion. I am running a Swords Dance/Cross Poison/Night Slash/Earthquake build, made to abuse Sniper (I have Life Orb over Scope Lens though for extra power).

I survive with 16% to spare. I think he sees right now that Rotom really screws with my team, since my #1 switch into it was Mesprit ._. The only thing I can really do here is to Zen Headbutt it again. I can’t risk it wanting to absorb a hit – if it stays in and I attempt a double switch, I’ll lose. I can’t make that risky a move.

Now he must switch mwahahaha. I have to choose on whether to bring back in Rotom or just Swords Dance to maybe kill his Drapion switch-in, but I ultimately decide on Swords Dance, as Drapion can often sweep rather early with a well timed critical hit, and the bulk to take a few hits.

Yeah I am mildly fucked here. Thank god I pack the best Drapion counter in UU - Donphan. He’ll take a beating in eating the Spikes + a possible opening attack, but right now he’s all I have. I can also lure out Rotom like this and attempt to weaken it for a spin attempt. GO MY ELEFANT

Yeah so he is going to Rotom now. 100% sure of this. I’m going to Roar it out to scout out his team. Also I can’t hit Rotom except for lolIce Shard. I’m also p. sure he has Will O Wisp since Thunderbolt is generally not on SubCharge sets in my experience. Here goes nothing.

Anyway, my Drapion is back in, and now is not the time to get cocky - I need to bring back Rotom to deflect Rapid Spin.

He’s likely going to go back to Rotom. I want to go to Mesprit here and try and fool him into thinking I’m setting rocks in desperation or going to Zen Headbutt for a little damage on that damn Rotom. Instead, I will pull a RISQUE MANEUVER and try to Trick it and neuter it for the match, followed by Pursuir, followed by Rapid Spin followed by win.

But he makes the double switch and goes to his Mesprit, who only has 1 switch-in left in her. Now I am slightly worried - Mesprit probably has Trick and I don't want my Spin Blocker to be locked into anything, and I certainly don't want Drapion to have no function as a sweeper. But by the same token, if I brought in my Choice user, there is a chance that he uses U-Turn or Zen Headbutt anyway, as he still does have a Rapin Spinner left. I figure that Alakazam (my choice user) is the safest option, since he hasn't seen it yet and doesn't seem to have a way to break through rotom (yet).

Enter cheeseluvr, one of the most renowned and respected battlers in the competitive battling scene. Onto the battle, my double switch goes rather well. I could try to Zen Headbutt here or U Turn to gain momentum, but this is my last switch in and I don’t want to waste it. If I U Turn out of Drapion, I’m right back where I started with his Rotom perfectly healthy. I could set up rocks, but I think he may stay in and Sub or go to Drapion. Trick away niggaZ

I make the right switch-in, and now he is locked into Trick (and will be forced to switch out). I decide to get a bit risky here, since the probable switch-out will likely bring in a counter of Alakazam, who happen to be the best Pokemon to Trick (Chansey/Spiritomb/Registeel, all hate Choice items).

Okay well fuck. I suspect him to keep the Scarf and pick me off with Psychic, gaining a powerful revenge killer in the process, so I’m just going to sac Mesprit and then bring in Houndoom for a free Pursuit killaZ.

Pursuit kd24 is a noob here, for sure. I think it will KO even if he doesn’t switch, considering I invested 252 evs into attack. I don’t like the prospect of Drapion coming in for free, but I need to get a kill and gain some momentum now.

Okay, I suspected here that he would stay in and try to kill with what appears to be LO Electrode, since I am running a little low on health.
Unfortunately, he isn’t retarded and goes to Rotom. Here, I have a pretty strong pecs idea that he will use substitute here, so I can Roar him out and start chipping away at his fucking Rotom. I need to kill that thing.

Yay ^o^ I get a free 25% hit on Rotom. It has been bugging me all match, and here I took a major step in breaking it down. It again roars in Drapion. I have been playing terrible when it comes to nailing rotom on the switch, every time trying to nail what’s out or spin the hazards. I am keeping consistent with this play. He’s got to expect me to double switch to Houndoom here and Earthquake me, taking with it my best way to ko Rotom. Earfquak

Rotom giggles as Earthquake misses as well (it can giggle right?). I take a moment to think here. He knows I am using Sub/Tbolt Rotom, which almost always means Shadow Ball and Will-o-Wisp as the last two moves. Because he could just Roar out Substitute and Donphan walls my sweeper Drapion, it is likely that I will try to Will-o-Wisp him. With this in mind, I decide to use Thunderbolt instead, as he doesn't have a way to actually hurt Rotom with Donphan, and I could take down that troublesome Houndoom.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I cannot describe the frustration at being constantly outpredicted when it comes to the biggest threat to my team. Right now, I expect a Will O Wisp. Seeing a small ray of hope to remove Rotom from the match, I hastily switch out to Houndoom, expecting to take a big stride into winning the game.

Azumarill comes in and because I have nothing left to take Aqua Jets (oh why did I have to get rid of Toxicroak), I sacrifice Rotom. But my Electrode is ready to take him on!

Electrode isn't ready to take that. I'm getting a little nervous now, he still has a hidden Pokemon and I only have Drapion and my hidden _____ left. I have to take down Azumarill though and so I bring in Drapion, to finish him off with Cross Poison.

I get a nice crit here, saving me. I don’t know if it will KO without the CH and Life Orb recoil, but I thank god for the crit, and am ready to take on KD24’s final two pokemon. I know Drapion can eat one AJ, so let’s see if he goes with that, or if his last pokemon fares better against Azu.

Yeah, my Drapion is in kill range for Tauros now ... fukdragons....

So he brings out Drapion, hinting that his last Pokemon is frail. I sac Azu to AJ it into Tauros kill range. We each have one hidden Pokemon.

BAD ASS switched in Tauros (lvl 100 Tauros ?).

Tauros takes down my Drapion, and what went from the surest looking thing in Pokemon history now relies on me being able to beat his last Pokemon with ______. What if he has a ____/____-type ... what if he just has something bulky! Oh crap, I remember he had a bulky drapion at one point...

I am hanging on the edge of my seat, trying to remember out #stark conversation about his team. Was it Milotic I heard? Or was it Mismagius? And then he clicks his move…

fuk dragons switched in Swellow (lvl 100 Swellow ?).
    Swellow used Quick Attack.

Swellow lost 53% of its health.

    1-0 KD24

In the end, BAD ASS brought out Scyther, who Swellow killed with Facade. I wasn't quite sure about Quick Attack and didn't want him to do something ridiculous like CB Aerial Ace (which might have actually killed me or something?) He put up a great fight and definitely had me surprised at the end with how quickly he turned things around, but Swellow luckily held on and came out on top. Good Game!

Death comes swiftly. GG indeed, KD.

    Great Warstory.

Excellent comments were made and the choice of pokemon were certainly interesting.

Very fun read, but I already knew the teams so it wasn't suspenseful or w/e.

I would have absolutely set up Stealth Rock though, especially with Roar Donphan.

I think it was ok, and I expected much better from you two. Even so, I read the entire thing and it kept me interested. Also, being completely outplayed does not make a battle good imo. If anything, that crit was the turning point because it probably wouldn't have been as close. Running calcs, electrode suvives. I think it still has 1, possibly two hits left. Which meant, tauros dies and swellow comes in to kill scyther ftw. That ultimately meant 2-0, so really, witout another crit, bad ass still had no chance xD. GG though guys, but I'm not sure if it was warstory worthy. =/

Great read, but try to use different colours for different players, makes it just that much easier to read.

I liked it, although the actual battle could have been more up to warstory standards. The comments made up for it though, 8/10.

I was surprised to see the Swellow and Scyther at the end, they were the unknowns. Nice use of Unown-? to keep them secret for the dual narration. 8/10

i liked the comments but i didnt think the battle itself was TOO special (don't get me wrong it was good) since it sort of felt like bad ass had to play from behind the entire game given the importance of keeping hazards off the field for his team

I was almost sure that last Poke was Moltres. Bad ass's comments kept me entertained enough to read the entire battle, even though it was fairly average and mostly Rotom dicking around as usual (I should nominate that thing).

I will admit that when I first saw the title, I thought "Oh no, this is going to be a poorly written warstory, and not a great battle either." I was wrong both times. I will agree that this is an awesome warstory, and I loved the comments too! The only problem was remembering who was who, and I personally think that putting the comments in different colors would have helped me remember which player had which comments and what Pokemon they had. Still, great read! 9/10
