Galladiator vs. Spenstar!

The Rules
2v2 doubles
1 middlemon, 1 LC mon
3 day DQ
No recover, 5 chills
Switch = OK
Training Items Only
All abilities

An artificial environment with no external water source or natural grass. Digging and seismic moves are allowed. Weather is allowed.

At the beginning of each round, the ref will give a task to the participating pokemon to perform during the round. It can be anything as long as all active pokemon can feasibly accomplish it (eg, use non-STAB moves only). Any pokemon that fail to complete the task take damage equal to 1/4 of their max HP.

The Teams!

Galliator's team

Ness (Treecko) (M)
Nature: Hasty (Multiples Base Speed by 1.15 and a 22.6% accuracy boost on all attacks; Subtracts One (1) Rank from Defense)
Type:
Grass: Grass STAB; Immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming "powder" attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.

Abilities:
Overgrow: (Innate) When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33% (flat), the Base Attack Power of any grass attack is increased by two (2). (eg Giga Drain goes from 8 to 10, Solarbeam from 12 to 14)
Unburden (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is incredibly possessive. If it uses or loses an item in battle its rage swells and its speed doubles (x2) until it receives another item.

Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Defeatist: (Innate) The Pokemon tires from prolonged battles easily, and its Attack and Special Attack reduce by two (2) Ranks when at or below 50% of its maximum HP. Once Defeatist is active, attacks cost two (2) less energy. If the Pokemon goes back above 50% of its maximum HP in battle, Defeatist's effects will disappear.

Dragon: Dragon STAB; More in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Hyper Beam and Giga Impact without losing focus.
About Puff: Once a childish Monohm, Puff has matured immensely since evolving into Duclohm. While Puff hasn't gained any more powerful upon evolution, she has a greater foundation of stamina and wisdom. She is admired by the rest of the team for being incredibly intelligent for her age, and in general.

Static: (Innate) This pokemon’s body is surrounded by an electric field that has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that use contact moves on this pokemon.
Overcoat (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon has a sturdy exterior that rebuffs the elements, making it immune to damage inflicted by bad weather. If the Pokemon is already immune to at least one (1) kind of weather by typing or a different ability, Overcoat reduces the Base Attack Power of all oncoming attacks by one (1).

Munchlax* (Waldo) (M) (Obtained from Ranger)
Nature: Adamant (+1 Atk, -1 SpA)
Type: Normal
Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.
About Waldo: Waldo was only recently hatched when he was traded to Spenser's team. A trade was agreed after Ranger had an encounter with Roslyn and Spenstar had Bugoff stay with Ranger and protect him. In exchange, Waldo was traded to Spenser's team and would grow with him. There are two traits that define Waldo: he is happy-go-lucky and a source of positive energy within the team. In addition, the extent Waldo cares for Spenser and the rest of the team is beyond mere childish loyalty: he will adamantly defend his friends through thick and thin. Waldo is also very affectionate, and loves giving hugs to Spenstar and the rest of the team.

Abilities:

Pick Up:
Type: Innate
This Pokemon has a natural habit of collecting items. Whenever a held item (its own or an opponent's) is used or knocked to the ground with a move like Knock Off, this Pokemon will immediately pick up that item without using an action. It can also grab dropped or naturally occuring hold items in arenas.

Thick Fat:
Type: Innate
This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire- and Ice- typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)

Gluttony (DW LOCKED):
Type: Innate
This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat).

<Remoraid> [Pearl] (Female)
Nature: Quiet (+1 SpAtk, /1.15 speed, -10 (flat) evasion)

Type:
Water: Water STAB; Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.
About Pearl: Pearl is in part the result of Spenstar's first major encounter with the legendary trainer Deck Knight, during a fishing festival. With Deck's advice, Spenstar was able to use his fishing rod to save a school of Remoraid from being eaten by a Gyarados. (by tradition, he threw the Gyarados back) Later in the day, Spenstar hooked one of the Remoraid with his rod, and due to his earlier action, Deck allowed him to catch the Remoraid if possible. Pearl is mute and thus cannot speak or make any battle cries, but instead she speaks with her actions, investing all her focus in the matter at hand.

Abilities:
Hustle (Can be Enabled): This Pokemon puts immense force and speed in its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.
Sniper (Innate): This Pokemon has deadly accuracy and strikes sensitive points, increasing its critical hit bonus from +3 to +5 on single attacks, +2 to +3 on two-hit attacks, and +1 to +2 on multi-hit attacks.
Moody (Dream World/Innate): This Pokemon's traits are always fluctuating from one strength to another. At the end of each round, one of the Pokemon's stats (Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, Accuracy, Evasion) will be boosted by two (2) stages and another will be reduced by one (1) stage. This stat change lasts until the end of that round, where Moody is re-applied, overwriting the boosted and dropped stats. This stat boost/drop occurs outside the normal boosts/drops.

Good luck to both sides! And with that lets GO!

I don't recall you having training items, so...

Let's go! Puff and Waldo! Puff will have the amulet coin, wlado will have to go itemless.

Puff: Thunderbolt Archen - Thunderbolt Archen - Flamethrower Ness
If Archen uses Double Team, Discharge and push actions back.

Waldo: Body Slam Ness - Metronome (Sacred Fire~V-Create~Flare Blitz~Acrobatics~Freeze Shock~Icicle Crash~Blaze Kick~Dark Void~Sky Attack) and if possible, target Ness when applicable ~ Rock Slide
If Archen uses Evasive Agility, Pursuit it and push actions back.
If you're Targeting Ness and Ness uses evasive agility, target Archen instead.

Actually, I have a Lucky Egg, which will be held by Gene.

In other news, Ness reaches 4 EC this battle, meaning he evolves to Grovyle.

Not much choice in terms of abilities, but for reference Ness uses Overgrow and Gene decides to be a Defeatist.

Gene: Head Smash Puff, Aerial Ace Puff, Earth Power Puff

Ness: Leech Seed Waldo, Energy Ball Puff, Dragonbreath Puff

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to the dual of Pokemon! We have Galladiator vs Spenstar and it is looking to be a fine match. Both competitors are ready lets GO!

Round 1: Mass attack!

Ness the newly evolved Grovyle begins by shooting a seed at Waldo the Munchlax which begins to sap his health! Nesses teammate Gene the Archen flies violently toward the Duclohm smashing his head against Puff to create some good damage on both pokemon due to recoil, Puff recovers quickly and fires off a devastating Thunderbolt into Gene's face. The bird didn't like that one bit! Out of nowhere the ignored Munchlax slams his massive body against Ness for some huge damage! Ness saps his HP happily

Ness begins afresh with a classic Energy ball aimed at Puff that does a disgustingly small bit of damage and lowers Ness's attack stat by two stages! Ouch! Surprised at his teammates surprise Gene uses Aerial Ace making a crit across both of Puffs faces... but it hardly makes more damage than energy ball did due to Puffs Overcoat! Puff laughs evilly and sends another painful Thunderbolt at Archen... Paralyzing him! Waldo begins shaking his paw at Galladiators team creating (ironically) V-CREATE! It smashes is into Ness knocking him backwards reeling... costing Waldo some good stats! Beware of the Munchlax!

Ness uses his Dragon breath on Puff hoping for a paralyze, but instead it does barely anything, Puff just shakes his head and fires a devastating Flamethrower towards Ness doing another huge chunk of his health in. Finally Gene is mad... REALLY MAD! He uses his strange power over the earth and fires it at the still laughing Duclohm doing some of the best damage Gene has done yet! But once again the Munchlax devastating Galladiator team with a critical rock slide!

That Munchlax is a bomb! But does Galladiator have enough hp to turn this around? Time to find out!

Oh yeah and the rule is... heads... Stand Still! (do not jump or uses charging physical attacks)

Spenstar, you're up!

um... v-create lowers the user's defenses and speed one stage, not the opponents'. wait... no dodging? what kind of a rule is that? -_-

also, did you factor defeatist into the calcs when applicable? If I recall correctly, only gene's last action (earth power) should be affected, but its still something

And actually, it's my turn, since I ordered last...

"Stand still"? What the hell kind of rule is that? Ah well...this may actually benefit me in the long run (well, given how this is turning out, the longer run...).

Ness: Leer Puff, Screech Puff, Leer Puff

Gene: Leer Puff, Dragon Pulse Puff, Stone Edge Puff

Hopefully that works.

Okay, 1/4 of my max HP... that doesnt scare me, because I'm about to win!

Puff: Flamethrower Ness, Thunderbolt Gene until he dies. If you still have an action left, Flamethrower Ness

Waldo: Body Slam Ness three times. If Ness faints, switch to Gene.

Round 2: FINISH HIM!

Were back, Ness and Gene take a different turn of tactics by using leer, lowering both Waldo's and Puffs Defense by 1 stage. Puffs gives the team a questioning look as if to say you fools. Then she blasts a flamethrower into Ness's body engulfing him in flames! When the flames die down we can see Ness conscious his overgrow ability is activated, what a man! He looks about ready to rage when Waldo (who it seems like no one can find) uses his massive body slam on ness from behind, KOing him! Out of nowhere Wario appears and he doesn't look happy... he runs over Waldo on his motorcycle doing a ton of damage! Can gene turn this around?

Gene starts us out with a dangerous looking dragon pulse that hit Puff square, but because of its defeatists attitude it doesn't do much more than a tackle attack. Puff can't believe her good louck and smites the bird with her thunderbolt KOing Gene!

Spenstar gets 3 TC
Duclohm gets 1 EC, 2 MC, 1 DC, and 1 KOC.

Wonderful! Just a few things first. I get 3 TC because of the amulet coin, and my opponent benefits from the lucky egg. Also, since Archen was paralyzed and slower, that dragon pulse shouldn't have had the chance to hit... but who am I to complain! GG
