I cant play pokemon showdown it keeps saying that the login server is experiencing trouble

I'm also having this issue. I have never played this game before, though I've heard of it quite a few times and decided today was the day I tried it. I'm not too sure how to register, and I don't see any troubleshooting or information on this particular problem. I have been trying to 'register' or create a name for the majority of the entire day, but this message would come up. Does anyone know how to fix the problem, or is it just a waiting process?
