Well I found the GSC Beginners guide in the GSC section to be kind of retarded in the sense that you're basically building a team straight up for someone. Sometimes, the best teams depends on the people. Some people have to few like their team is fun and usable and reliable.

Anyways, instead of the boring ol team it setted for you to create in the beginners guide, here's another outlook, Explosion in GSC.

As you all know, GSC is full of the same ol' Snorlax, Suicune, Zapdos, Raikou, Blissey, Skarmory, Donphan, Forretress and what not.

Explosion, a 250 base attack that halves defense on the turn it is used, so in reality it is really 500, will dent anything, especially if your opponent is full stall.

    Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
    - Explosion
    - Hypnosis
    - Ice Punch/Psychic
    - Thunderbolt

Prehaps the best starter for an Explosion team. The fastest sleeper(tied with Jumpluff) after Persian, who is UU anyways. Nothing but Magneton resists IP+TB so that does good damage and then having the option to Explode at any time helps such when you see something that can be homosexual to your team. It's great to have things like Gengar that can attack things that resist Explosion.

    Cloyster (M) @ Leftovers
    - Explosion
    - Ice Beam
    - Spikes
    - Surf

It's very extremely useful to have that extra 12%, because frankly, sometimes Explosion just doesn't kill something. Another Poke with good Special Attack for hitting Grounds/Rocks/Steels. Rapid Spin can be added in here if you rather win with just skills and resort to Explosion for a quick win.

    Golem (M) @ Leftovers
    - Earthquake
    - Explosion
    - Roar
    - Rock Slide

Sometimes, Exploding isn't as easy as it seems, and you might have to rely on actual battling, whereas Roar will help, since Curselax can and will be annoying or other sleeping stat upper that doesn't carry Roar itself. Earthquake also dents Gengar and Misdreavus, who are like enemy #1 to Explosion teams.

    Exeggutor (M) @ Leftovers
    - Explosion
    - Leech Seed
    - Psychic
    - Sleep Powder

Just like in RBY, it's useful to have 2 Sleepers, especially if you're going to be blowing one of them up. Leech Seed can help be annoying and stop stall teams more than this team already do.

    Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers
    - Fire Blast
    - Earthquake
    - Return
    - Selfdestruct

Prehaps the strongest Exploder due to it's attack and STAB. You can add Lovely Kiss in here somewhere, but Mixed Snorlax is just devestating to any and everything.

    Muk (M) @ Leftovers
    - Curse
    - Fire Blast
    - Explosion
    - Sludge Bomb

308 Attack with 413 HP and 298 Special Defense. It's quite a beast. Also a secondary Special Defensive monster if Laxen is gone too quick.

    Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
    - Explosion
    - Rapid Spin
    - Reflect
    - Spikes

I'd prefer Cloyster to this but it can be great help. Lay your Spikes, set up a Reflect, and then just Explode on them.

    Steelix (M) @ Leftovers
    - Curse
    - Earthquake
    - Explosion
    - Roar

I like this Steelix. You can't touch a flying type, but the thing is, Steelix will probably make the opponent repeatedly switch Skarmory on just to absorb attacks, but it can't Roar it out since Steelix will be slower, but when it gets to the point where it has a few Curse under it's belt, it can simply just sweep or blow up Skarm altogether.

    Electrode @ Leftovers
    - Explosion
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Thunder Wave
    - Thunderbolt

Electrode probably won't get much use, but it's still an Exploder that can Special attack.

With enough Exploders on the team, it's best if you revert to last Poke sweepers, after all, if you scout out and take note of all your opponents Pokemon durnig battle, you can see which to blow up and which to not, giving your last Poke an advantage. You can esentially pick nearly any of the Pokes above and form a team off the bat and can still win most battles just due to sheer Exploding and killing one Poke, however if your opponents team is like Steelix Cloyster Gengar you won't have much fun, so it's best if you pick maybe 3-4-5 Exploders above and add in these last sweeping Pokes.

    Miltank (F) @ Leftovers
    - Curse
    - Heal Bell
    - Milk Drink
    - Return

A great last Poke after all the Exploding, although make sure you've rid of all Gengars and Misdreavus and Cursing Steelixes. This is also great during battle since it is a Phsyical tank, and you can Heal Bell cause you wouldn't want some of your Exploders frozen or asleep now would you? Body Slam or Double-Edge is capable over Return if you want some Para or more Power.

    Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers
    - Hydro Pump
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Substitute
    - Swords Dance

Esentially Druidcruel. This thing can sweep teams apart if your Exploders didn't do their jobs. (Hopefully one thing they did do right was kill off Gengar Zapdos or Raikou.) It can Sludge Bomb Suicunes and completely wall it, Hydro Pump Skarmories and is immune to Toxic as well as with a Sub up, Blissey can't do anything to it.

    Charizard (M) @ Leftovers
    - Belly Drum
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Blast
    - Hidden Power [Flying]

If you made your Explosion team with Parasupport, such as with Zap Cannon Forretress, Body Slam Golems and Snorlax, Electrode, Charizard can be the Poke for you. It's fast, and with Fire Blast, no Steels will dare try to stop it.

    Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
    - Curse
    - Earthquake
    - Rest
    - Rock Slide

Somewhat novelty but not much once you see it's potential. This is GSC where there's no such thing as a Rock/Ground resist yet, and this 366 Atk packing beast can and will cause havoc.

    Ursaring (M) @ Leftovers
    - Curse
    - Rest
    - Return
    - Sleep Talk

With this on the team, it can be your sleep absorber and you might not even need a Miltank so you can add another Poke. Get rid of Ghosts and this thing will sweep regardless.

Obviously, there's more to the team than just plain out Exploding with a last attempt Poke or two. You could add in a support Poke along with 4 Exploders and the last sweeper.

    Marowak (M) @ Thick Club
    - Earthquake
    - Hidden Power [Bug]
    - Rock Slide
    - Swords Dance

It's down to a 1 on 1. Your opponent is using a stall team and most likely have a staller or someone asleep. Do you like your chances? Hell Yes.

    Jolteon (M) @ Leftovers
    - Agility
    - Baton Pass
    - Thunder Wave
    - Thunderbolt

It passes Speed and it can Paralyze for your last sweeper.

    Hypno (M) @ Leftovers
    - Light Screen
    - Psychic
    - Reflect
    - Thunder Wave

Set up, set up, and more set up. Oh, and stall if needed.

    Umbreon (M) @ Leftovers
    - Baton Pass
    - Curse
    - Mean Look
    - Moonlight

If you can pull this off, it's almost guranteed you've won. Mean Look and pass to something that you can easily kill. After killing that one Poke, you now have more Pokes than they do, allowing you to outright Explode if you want.

All in all, it's not hard to play GSC if you don't like the stall, just pick up an Explosion team, get the hang of it. Play it with an RS mentality, haha. People who make stalls team based on facing other stall teams won't help them much. Plus, this way it's a lot funner and faster. Pick 4 Exploders with conjunction to their weaknesses, and 2 end gamers or a support Poke.

Needs more Pursuit, and the counters to every sweeper should be mentioned so you can target those with your Exploders.

Forry doesn't get Zap Cannon in GSC..

I prefer using Zapdos and Suicune in semi-b00m teams... Zapdos is a good partner for Snorlax because of Fighting resistance and it also likes stuff to explode on some of its counters, e. g. Raikou and Blissey. I've put Suicune in my team because Charizard and Tyranitar annoyed me too much. (And if there are still tourneys with limited legends, then gogogo Blastoise. :D)
