+ Genesect is a very splashable and unpredictable Pokemon in OU which lets it fill many roles, including revenge killer, sweeper, physical, special, and mixed wallbreakers.
+ One of the strongest U-turn users in the tier, often backed by Download boosting attack, bolstering its power even further.
+ Huge movepool allows Genesect to check many different Pokemon based on its teams need.
+ Pretty frail, meaning it struggles to takes hits from the likes of Latios and Magearna
+ Speed tier also narrowly misses out on the crowded base 100-110 Speed tier, losing out on threats such as Garchomp, Mega Charizard X, Keldeo, Volcarona.
+ Common Pokemon such as Heatran, Toxapex, and Celesteela are all capable of giving Genesect a hard time, shutting it down and forcing it out.

Moves
========
+ U-turn is Genesect's strongest Bug STAB move and allows it to generate momentum off common switchins like Heatran, and Celesteela.
+ Iron Head is Genesect's other STAB move, and allows it to effectively revenge kill Fairy-types such as Tapu Lele and Tapu Bulu.
+ Ice Beam is used to hit Ground-types such as Garchomp and Landorus-T which can punish U-turn with Rough Skin and Rocky Helmet.
+ Flamethrower hits Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Celesteela, and opposing Genesect.
+ Thunderbolt hits Celesteela, Mantine, Pelipper and other Water-types such as Gyarados, Toxapex, and Azumarill.
Set Details
========
+ Maximum Speed investment along with a Naive nature and Choice Scarf allows Genesect to outspeed everything up to opposing Choice Scarf Genesect, this includes Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T, Pheromosa, Mega Alakazam, Greninja, +1 Mega Gyarados, and Tapu Koko.
+ A Naive nature is used to reduce Special Defense in order to retain power for Genesect's special attacking options.
+ Maximum Attack investment provides Genesect with a more powerful U-turn, denting switch ins more effectively.
Usage Tips
========
+ This Genesect set functions best as a revenge killer, avoid switching it into strong attacks, as even neutral hits will deal a hefty amount of damage to Genesect.
+ It's best advised to bring in Genesect through sacrificing a Pokemon, switching in through double switches or switching in on a predicted attack that Genesect is immune to.
+ U-turn is the most used move, but use the appropriate coverage move to deal with what Genesect is facing.
Team Options
========
+ R O T O S E C T B O I S
+ Water-types such as Rotom-W, Keldeo, and Greninja pair very well with Genesect as they can punish Genesect switchins such as Heatran and Mega Charizard X while they appreciate Genesect luring and picking off the likes of Mantine and Toxapex with Thunderbolt. Genesect also heavily threatens the likes of Latios and Latias which can be used to check Rotom-W, Manaphy, and Keldeo.
+ Heatran is a great teammate for Genesect as it can absorb Fire-type moves for it, set up Stealth Rock, and pressure common bulky Water-types with Bloom Doom and Toxic.

Moves
========
+ Rock Polish allows Genesect to double its Speed, outspeeding everything up to Timid Swift Swim Kingdra in Rain, enabling it to sweep late-game when the opposing Pokemon are weakened.
+ Bug Buzz is Genesect's strongest STAB move that doesn't force it out, having decent neutral coverage against most of the tier.
+ Ice Beam hits Ground-types and Dragon-types that resist Bug Buzz such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Dragonite.
+ Flamethrower hits Steel-types such as Skarmory, Celesteela, Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and opposing Genesect.
+ Thunderbolt hits Skarmory and Celesteela as well as Water-types such as Toxapex, Gyarados, and Mantine.
+ Giga Drain is an option over Bug Buzz as it hits Water-types such as Rotom-W, Gastrodon, Tapu Fini, and Mega Gyarados and allows Genesect to heal slightly.
Set Details
========
+ A Modest nature along with maximum Special Attack investment allows Genesect to hit as hard as possible while still being able to outspeed everything up to Timid Kingdra in rain, but still loses out on Jolly Excadrill in sand.
+ A Timid nature is usable as it allows Genesect to outspeed Choice Scarf Pheromosa and Jolly Excadrill in sand.
+ Life Orb boosts Genesect's offenses as much as possible without forcing it into a choice item lock.
+ Expert Belt can be used too in order to bluff a Choice Scarf set and avoid recoil when attacking.

Moves
========
+ U-turn allows Genesect to deal heavy damage when paired with Choice Band and allows it to gain momentum off of the likes of Rotom-W and Landorus-T.
+ Iron Head hits Fairy-types that resist U-turn and is very strong when backed by STAB and a potential Download boost
+ Extreme Speed is ridiculously powerful after a Choice Band boost and allows Genesect to apply huge amounts of pressure to offensive teams, weakening sweepers that aren't Steel-type with ease.
+ Blaze Kick hits Steel-types that would otherwise wall Genesect such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Celesteela.
+ Explosion is another option that allows Genesect to sacrifice itself in order to maintain its teammates hazards in the face of an entry hazards remover such as Tapu Fini. It is also incredibly powerful and will put a huge dent into any resistor.
Set Details
========
+ A Hasty nature is forced because of event moves.
+ Maximum Speed investment allows Genesect to outspeed everything up to Hydreigon.
+ Maximum Attack investment lets Genesect hit as hard as possible.
Usage Tips
========
+ Break down the opposing teams answers to Genesect by forcing them to take heavy damage through constantly using U-turn.
+ Use Iron Head if it is necessary to break down bulkier Pokemon such as Tapu Fini.
+ Save Genesect for the late-game if the opponent has a threatening sweeper such as Volcarona, Mega Charizard X, and Phermosa that can be picked off by Extreme Speed if they are weakened.
+ Use Blaze Kick on predicted Steel-type switchins to severely weaken them so that they can't reliably beat Genesect.
Team Options
========
+ Strong components of VoltTurn work perfectly alongside Genesect. Examples include Rotom-W, Landorus-T, and Tapu Koko; all of which bait in Grass-types which Genesect can nuke with Choice Band U-turns. Landorus-T can also check Fire-types such as Mega Charizard X and also sets up Stealth Rock.

Other Options
=============
List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to being either not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Volcarona can all outspeed and OHKO Genesect with ease, but fear Douse Drive Techno Blast. Alolan Marowak, Heatran, and Volcanion are slower but can take Genesect on easily outside of Douse Drive Techno Blast, and Thunderbolt in Volcanion's case.
**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Garchomp, Greninja, Keldeo, Mega Alakazam, and Tapu Koko can all apply pressure to non-Choice Scarf Genesect, dealing heavy damage or even OHKOing it.
**Handling it based on coverage**: As Genesect has a huge movepool, it's hard to find a very solid answer off the bat against it, and one of the best ways to take it on is to scout out its coverage move and play around it accordingly. Water-types such as Gyarados, Keldeo, and Azumarill can all set up on or wear down Genesect if it lacks Thunderbolt, while Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Magnezone, Mega Metagross, Genesect, and Celesteela can all annoy the opposing Genesect if it lacks Flamethrower. If Genesect lacks Ice Beam, bulkier Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Hippowdon can pressure it.
