Mr. Mime - Mind (F)
Nature: Timid
Type: Psychic
Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Soundproof: (Innate) Pokemon with this ability emit their own powerful electrostatic or sound-dampening field, making them immune to sound-based moves other than an ally's or their own Heal Bell. (Known sound moves: Bug Buzz, Chatter, Echoed Voice, Grasswhistle, Growl, Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Metal Sound, Perish Song, Relic Song, Roar, Round, Screech, Sing, Snarl, Snore, Supersonic, Uproar.
Filter: (Innate) This Pokemon has a special energy barrier that reduces the Base Attack Power of any opponent’s super-effective attack by two (2).
Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.

Gengar(*) - Purple Boss (M)
Nature: Timid
Type: Poison/Ghost
Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic, see and breath through smog/smokescreens/haze uninhibited. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus. Superior senses in urban settings.
Ghost STAB; brief intangibility that nullifies Normal and Fighting-type attacks. Can move through walls for a brief period of time but must remain in motion. Superior senses in low light and inside dark buildings. Have no vision reduction in hazes.

Abilities:
Levitate: (Trait) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading Ground moves like Bulldoze, Dig, Earthquake, and Magnitude. Other Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

Metagross [Brains] (Genderless)
Nature: Careful (Adds One (1) Rank to Special Defense; Subtracts One (1) Rank from Special Attack)
Type: Steel/Psychic
Steel: Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.
Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Clear Body
Type: Innate
This Pokemon’s body structure makes it immune to status lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)

Ability 2: Light Metal (DW) [unlocked]
Type: Innate
The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP.)

Remember: the Jungle Laws also lock your battlers in time, meaning they will not learn new moves in this battle (i.e. Keep your PMs and refer to them when ordering, because I will slap you with a rusty chainsaw if you order new moves that were unavailable according to my Inbox). Without further ado, let us introduce the hunter, Gerard Psyquic, who will be facing a known bestial species, the Panthera Tigris Ignus, nicknamed Orcinus Duo because of their paired appearance everywhere. As Gerard readies his arsenal, the monsters prowled without a sound, seeking an opening in the human's stance......

Sorry for the delay, I see you brought two interesting players into this battle, It's only fair that I do the same, Katherine and Fantine are two of my biggest accomplishments and I trust them to pull their own in the battle ahead, Katherine, you'll try to incapacitate Gengar while Fantine tries to do the same for Mr. Mime, it doesn't look like it's gonna be easy but we must try our best to take control of the battlefield. Our team will not be defeated.

Fantine (Expert Belt): Taunt (Mr. Mime) ~ Knock Off (Gengar) ~ Shadowstrike (Gengar)
* If Mr. Mime uses Magic Coat then use Shadowstrike (Mr. Mime) and push actions
* If Mr. Mime (succesfully) uses Protect (on itself) then use Shadowstrike (Mr. Mime) and push actions
* If Gengar targets you with Taunt & you're Not taunted then use Magic Coat and push actions
* If Gengar has a substitute when you target him then use Shadowstrike (Gengar) and push actions
* If Mr. Mime uses Fake Out (Katherine) A1 then use Fake Out (Mr. Mime) and push actions

Katherine (Focus Sash): [Trace Mr Mime's Filter] Taunt (Gengar) ~ Icy Wind ~ Psychic (Gengar)
* If Gengar targets you with Taunt & you're Not taunted then use Magic Coat and push actions
* If Gengar (succesfully) uses Protect (on itself) then use Shadow Ball (Mr. Mime) and push actions
* If Mr. Mime uses Taunt (Fantine) after Gengar uses it then use Encore (Mr. Mime) and push actions
* If Gengar uses Double Team & you're Not Taunted then use Snatch (Gengar) and push actions (once)
* If You're targeted by an Sleep Inducing move & your targeter is Not Taunted then use Magic Coat and push actions (once)

Mr. Mime: Protect+Magic Coat (transfer to Gengar)-Cooldown-Light Screen

For my own benefit:
Kitsunoh: Shadowstrike Mr. Mime~Taunt Mr. Mime (fails)-Shadowstrike Gengar
Gardevoir: Taunt Gengar (Fails)~Icy Wind-Psyshock (Gengar)

Lets set up some for this round, my friends. We have a surprise waiting...

It appears that Gardevoir does not learn Psyshock. I'd like to force a reorder, please. Gerard may send in another pair aside from reordering (though that would of course, reveal more about your team), and orci will respond again accordingly.

Welcome to what may be one of the most intellectual matches in current active ASB (orci's insult not-withstanding). Gerard sends in a masked vigilante's pet and a graceful lady of the court to face against the phantom and the conjurer accompanying the 2 tigers. Katherine-Garevoir and Fantine-Kitsunoh attempted to Taunt Mind-Mime and PB-Gengar respectively, but a swift response inflicts their schemes upon themselves instead! Still, Faintine-Kitsunoh's ShadowStrikes dealt terrible blows upon the Orcinus' Duo, but at the price of 3rd-degree Burns, not even Katherine's Icy flair can Shock their opponents into hypothermia. Not when PB-Gengar evilly hides behind a larger-than-life Substitute of a Tyranitar. The round ends with Mind-Mime's Light Clay glowing and conjuring a permeable Screen in front of the flaming tigers' side of the field, so what will Orcinus Duo come up with next? ("Both cunning hunters indeed, to prepare for contingencies, and to find a way through them.")

This match is ridiculous and I humbly request 5 days for player DQ.

Also Zt, every time somebody sends a pokemon out, can you put the mon profile from your PM into the OP?

Yeah, I agree the profile thing would be useful in case we had gain some moves since the battle started (and would make everything easier overall), also, sure 5 day DQ is fine by me

Chandelure: Heat Wave-Fire Blast Kitsunoh-Heat Wave

13:07 Engineer i don't think so
13:08 Engineer because apparently if the st mon switches out you can't counterswitch
13:08 Engineer which would mean that if the st mon switches in you can still counterswitch

16:34 Engineer if it's shadow tag v xxx and shadow tag switches out xxx can't switch
16:34 Objection yes
16:34 Objection that's what i said
16:34 Engineer the question was
16:34 Engineer if it's xxx v yyy and xxx switches to shadow tag can yyy switch
16:34 Objection oh
16:34 Objection yeah you should be able to counterswitch
16:35 Objection since you would be able to double switch if they switched to a shadow tag mon
16:35 Objection in game

Maybe the last one wasn't too clear, but I asked again and got the same response, since Counterswitch is ASB's equivalent of double switching then I am able to so so

Orcinus Duo

Banned deucer.
What the

No

Because ASB is fundamentally different to ingame in this respect: the switches do not happen at the same time. As soon as the ST mon enters the battlefield, shadow tag should take effect. And ST's effect is

Shadow Tag (DW) (Innate): Upon entry into battle, this Pokemon’s Shadow expands across the arena and dissipates, forcing opposing Pokemon to stay within 10 meters of this Pokemon. The Shadow entirely negates the ability to switch for every Pokemon except those who also have Shadow Tag.

Yeah, but the opposite would also happen, as a Shadow Tag Pokemon leaves the battlefield you are still unable to switch, even if shadow tag is gone, due to how it works in-game, which means, that the mon is unable to switch out, even when the thing that prevented him from switching is gone (even if logic would dictate otherwise), so even if the pokemon has been released it can't trap the opposing mons immediately , giving time for a retreat

... sigh. And I thought you guys could hash it out without dragging me in.

Gerard reserves his right to counterswitch. Should he decline, I see no point in orci changing his orders. Should Gerard accepts, he'd have to switch and order first, while orci gets to order second - which, given orci's skill level, would further put Gerard at a disadvantage.

If you guys wanna continue the debate, try bringing more people into this at Feedback.

Hi Gerard

I would like to reorder R1 is that okay with you?

You haven't shown me anything and you stand at no loss.

I made the mistake of assuming shadow tag should work as I assumed it would because I was on vaca with a lack of irc, and half-assed my orders to keep up with DQ.

My R1 orders were based on the assumption that shadow tag would prevent you from switching out--otherwise, it would make no sense for me to sac mime and gengar's hp for 2 taunts if I lost the 2 taunts when you switched.

I'm basically fucked if you don't and I'm fine with you recording this as a win on your end. But this is a battle I enjoyed and sort of want to make it slightly even.

Don't really care about winning or losing but to have a cool battle so I don't mind really about that at all, my orders wouldn't change a bit tbh so do as you want
