Today's match is sure to be a close one, with both battlers using Necturine!

Round One Start!
As the first round opens, both trainer release their Pokeballs. On one side of the arena, an Azurill bounces on her tail, seemingly enjoying the applause from the crowd. On the other, a Snover spins into action, creating a crashing hailstorm through her Snow Warning ability. In the middle, ignoring the hailstones, two Necturine meet, mirroring each other, both preparing themselves to do battle...

Kicking off the match, Wisselberry unleashes a Will-O-Wisp! Even though the fierce hailstorm, the ghostly flames find their mark and badly singe Queen! Angered, the burned Necturine retaliates with a Ball of Shadows, knocking Wisselberry for a loop! Snorri the Snover, meanwhile, uses her Ice-typing to create a frigid Icy Wind, sending shivers and speed drops down the spines of Wisselberry and Maureen! Shivering, the Azurill claps her hands together, giving Snorri a thunderous round of applause and begging for an Encore!

Outspeeding her frozen foes, Queen summons a Leaf Blade, which seems to strike critically against Maureen. Snorri, still bowing to imaginary applause, follows up with a second Icy Wind, further dropping the temperature in the arena! Shaking with anger and cold, Wisselberry gets revenge with a strong Payback, sending Queen skidding across the icy arena floor, directly into a Soak fired off by Maureen! Queen seems to have lost her typing, becoming a somewhat frozen Water-type!

Struggling upright, Queen again slams Maureen with a Leaf Blade, but without STAB, the attack merely glances off the Azurill! Still Encored, Snorri sends a final Icy Wind sailing around the arena! Despite Thick Fat and Anticipation, Dummy007 is really racking up damage! Banding together, Maureen and Wisselberry attack with a Bounce and a Giga Drain to end the round!

As the second round begins, Gerard's team seems exhausted. Despite the bitterly cold hail ceaselessly battering them, the pair refuses to give in...

Queen, levitating slightly into the air, uses a psychic power to increase Gravity before plummeting back to the ground! Fighting the new force pulling her down, Wisselberry uses Giga Drain to absorb a small amount of Health from Queen! Beside her, Maureen tries to Bounce into the air, but fails to overcome the crushing Gravity and falls to the ground, helpless. Snow swirling around her, Snorri unleashes a biting wind, a Super-Blizzard Combo that knocks Gerard's shivering pokes into the corner of the arena, barely managing to stay upright!

Spinning forward, Queen unleashes a final Shadow Ball, which slams into the weakened Wisselberry, knocking her to the ground! The Necturine is unable to remain standing, and is KOed! Angered, Maureen again tries to Bounce, but forgets that she can't overcome gravity, once again merely falling to the ground. Snorri, enjoying the hailstorm, cools down from her powerful combo.

Sensing the end is near, Queen Soaks the shivering Azurill with icy water, changing the Normal-type into a Water-type well before her evolution. Spinning forward through the hail, Snorri uses a powerful Woodhammer to send Maureen flying! The Azurill hits the far wall with a faint cry, then slides to the ground, KOed!

gg, Gerard! BlizzCold is pretty cheap, but it gets the job done. Thanks for reffing, EndQuote! Enjoy your UC! (One final nitpick: Etheldredda was still a Water-type during Round 2, so Shadow Ball should have done less damage and cost 1 more energy. :P)
