Getting 2D Frozen Sprites in battles

Whenever I go battle someone, I am getting frozen 2D sprites that don't even move. How can I fix this?

Turn battle animations on, if they aren't on already. In the future, post things like this in the "ask a simple question, get a simple answer" thread.
