This thing would be great if hail was in NU.

The Cold Eeveelution

[Overview]

Glaceon has a very high Special Attack, which makes it a powerful wallbreaker that can even 2HKO dedicated special walls such as Audino and Lickilicky. Its Ice typing also gives it good coverage in NU, hitting a good portion of the tier for high amounts of damage. Glaceon also has usable bulk, so it is capable of taking hits decently. Glaceon also has enough Speed to outpace some of the slower Pokemon in the tier. However, Glaceon's typing, while great offensively, is poor defensively, giving it numerous exploitable weaknesses and few resistances. Its movepool is also very small, giving it very limited coverage. Finally, Glaceon faces heavy competition from Jynx, which has better Speed and a wider movepool.

[SET]
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Hidden Power Ground
move 3: Signal Beam
move 4: Baton Pass / Frost Breath
item: Choice Specs
ability: Ice Body
nature: Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs allows Glaceon to serve as a powerful wallbreaker, being able to deal heavy damage to many Pokemon in the tier. Ice Beam serves as strong and reliable STAB, able to 2HKO Audino and Lickilicky after Stealth Rock damage. Hidden Power Ground hits Steel-types such as Probopass as well as some Fire-types such as Rapidash. Signal Beam hits Jynx and Musharna hard and serves as a filler in general. The last moveslot makes full use of Glaceon's relatively poor movepool. Baton Pass allows Glaceon to switch out of its counters and resort to a teammate, while Frost Breath allows it to bypass Calm Mind Musharna.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Modest nature is chosen to attain all of the power needed. A Timid Nature is a viable alternative if one wants Glaceon to outspeed neutral nature Ludicolo, but the extra power provided by Modest is preferable. Ice Body is Glaceon's only legal ability, despite the lack of hail. Wish could be used over Baton Pass or Frost Breath to pass HP to a teammate, but the other two moves have more overall utility; Glaceon's HP is also rather low. Hidden Power Fighting is a usable alternative as it 2HKOes Piloswine and does heavy damage to Regice; the ability to hit Metang with Hidden Power Ground is often more desirable, however. Shadow Ball is also a usable alternative over Signal Beam as it hits Misdreavus as well as the lesser seen Frillish and Shedinja, but Signal Beam is often more useful as there are no Pokemon immune to it.

Sawk is an excellent teammate for Glaceon, as it handles Steel-types and Regice while also removing Stealth Rock users. Musharna also makes a great teammate, being able to handle Fighting-types as well as Baton Pass Calm Mind boosts to allow Glaceon to hit even harder. A Water-type such as Samurott or Carracosta can handle Fire-types which threaten Glaceon, such as Charizard. Finally, sweepers that appreciate Glaceon's wallbreaking prowess, such as Ludicolo, Choice Scarf Primeape, and Charizard, make good teammates.

[Other Options]

Glaceon has a relatively small movepool, and there isn't much it can use aside from what is listed above. Barrier is an option that allows Glaceon to increase its bulk and Baton Pass more effectively. Unfortunately, Barrier is a very situational move at best. Wish can be used to give Glaceon some form of recovery, but despite Glaceon's bulk, its defensive typing is not very good. In addition, due to Glaceon's low HP, its Wishes are not very large. A Choice Scarf is an option to allow Glaceon to patch up its low Speed and be a decent revenge killer. However, this is heavily outclassed by Jynx, which has better Speed, Trick, and Lovely Kiss.

[Checks and Counters]

Glaceon does not have many counters due to its raw power, but it has plenty of checks thanks to its low Speed and poor defensive typing. That said, Munchlax and Regice are the best counters to Glaceon available, as their great special bulk and Ice resistance means they take little from Ice Beam and can cripple it with paralysis. Fighting-types such as Sawk and Gurdurr are able to make quick work out of Glaceon. Fire-types such as Charizard and Rapidash can also check Glaceon well, but cannot switch in safely. Carracosta can switch into a resisted Ice Beam and OHKO with Stone Edge.

Skeleton (open)

[Overview]
• Highest Special Attack in NU
• Its STAB is pretty good in NU, with good coverage
• Glaceon's bulk isn't too shabby either
• Speed is not great but not terrible
• Bad defensive typing, has numerous exploitable weaknesses
• Movepool is really shabby
• Faces heavy competition from Jynx
[SET]
name: Choice Specs
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Hidden Power Ground
move 3: Signal Beam
move 4: Frost Breath / Baton Pass
item: Choice Specs
ability: Ice Body
nature: Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
• Way to make use of Glaceon's power
• Hits hard and has alright Speed
• The higher Special Attack and bulk are what it has as advantages over Jynx
• Ice Beam is strong and reliable STAB
• Shadow Ball is to hit Jynx and Musharna
• Signal Beam too
• Hidden Power Ground to deal with the steel
• Frost Breath is second STAB to bypass CM Musharna, as well as filler because Glaceon's movepool is small
• Baton Pass is for dry passing
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
• EVs give all the power and the speed
• Ice Body because Snow Cloak is illegal
• Modest to make it a powerhouse
• Timid is usable for more Speed but Glaceon just needs to hit hard
• Baton Pass or Wish could be used but Glace has nothing to pass (plus Mola is way better at Wish passing)
• HP Fighting
• Sawk handles Probopass and friends and could prevent SR for it to thrive
• Musharna can handle Fighting-types that smash Glaceon and also potentially pass CM boosts to allow Glaceon to deliver more pain
• Carracosta and Samurott also make very viable teammates to handle Fire-types
[Other Options]
• Nothing lol
• Baton Pass
• Wish
• Blizzard
• Different HP's but Ground is nearly non negotiable
• Scarf
• Barrier+BP
[Checks and Counters]
• Not many switch-ins but plenty of checks
• Sawk, Primeape, and Gurdurr smash it
• Jynx can LK it
• Regice can wall it
• Munchlax
• Rapidash
• Carracosta could after a Smash boost
• Stealth Rock will limit its lifespan

no need to mention the EVs!
I'd also mention that Timid can be used if you need the speed for something, but Glaceon's sole purpose is to hit hard.
also I think Baton Pass is a decent option for thr 4th slot, dry passing is pretty decent and with glac there switch in is pretty obvious

I'd probably mention Signal Beam as well in OO~

Other interesting moves it gets are Mirror Coat and Hyper Voice I don't think it's worth mentioning, but maybe some sort of gimmicky Focus Sash / Mirror Coat deal (Or if a jynx is locked into Ice Beam, could net a surprise KO)

HP Fighting is pretty important to mention in AC as it has similar coverage as HP Ground and it has perfect coverage with Shadow Ball. In fact, the only thing I see HP Ground hitting that HP Fighting doesn't hit as hard is Metang. And it's not like you can say HP Ground is for Fire-types since the only common Fire-Type is Charizard.

[Overview]
Rephrase the first point, just say it's a very powerful wallbreaker (capable of 2HKOing Lickilicky and Audino after SR)

[Additional Comments]
Definitely mention HP Fighting here; it 2HKOes Piloswine and a good chance to 2HKO Regice after SR (252+ SpA Choice Specs Glaceon Hidden Power Fighting vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Regice: 136-162 (37.46 - 44.62%) -- 77.34% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock) No need to mention the EVs on Glaceon.

[Other Options]
Remove other HPs mention since HP Fight is now in AC.

What is Frost Breath doing in the 4th slot? Sure it's an 80 BP move that bypasses stat boosts and Light Screen, but the only Pokemon I can really think of it helping against is Musharna or Gothorita (Serperior uses CM somewhat frequently but Ice Beam wrecks it quite nicely). Dry BP is pretty nice for keeping up momentum, and I think it should be the first slash.

Here and in overview, you could say real speed battles in NU start at 70 and higher therefore Glaceon falls short to compete and will barely ever meet anything with a positive speed nature and less speed then him so timid is not necessary. You also have more speed without nature than uninvested golbat and only miss out on uninvested miltank.

For the set now, I'm not sure about shadow ball, signal beam is only 5 points weaker. While this does kind of make a difference considering a STAB'ed ice beam hits for 142.5 (SE sbeam 150 and sball 160) but locking yourself into a move with so many mons immune too (especially in NU) can be pretty embarassing. Personnaly I'd use signal beam as main, slash shadow ball and explain what I just did but if another QC member disagrees then I don't mind seeing it stay the way it is either.

You have 2 baton pass points in oo

I did an all vs one calc with Glaceon using Honko's damage calculator. Disregarding the slight damage boost that accounts for the 5 BP difference (the 3hkos that get turned into 2hkos are pretty irrelevant), there are only a few Pokemon that aren't hit as hard by Signal Beam than Shadow Ball. Here's the list: Ghost-types (Frillish, Lampent, Misdreavus) and Fire-types. Ghost types save Frillish are dealt equally well by other moves in the set, and Fire-types lose to HP Ground (or in Charizard's case, Ice Beam). The only real reason to run Shadow Ball, as far as I can see, is Frillish.

On the flip side, Signal Beam hits Ludicolo pretty hard I guess, and Normal-types aren't immune to it. The thing is: Glaceon should be spamming Ice Beam pretty much every single time it comes in. That's what it's best at doing. The coverage is nice and all, but you should be hitting the Ice Beam button then getting out if your opponent brings in, say, Probopass or Regice. The coverage is kind of irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, and in fact, I'd almost want Hidden Power Ground to be listed as the second move in the set, since it actually hits more things that resist Ice SE. The third move could then be a slash of Signal Beam / Shadow Ball.

edit: i forgot about THE_MIGHTY_SHEDINJAâ„¢ shadow ball is the only move that can hit it!!!!

When you mention Wish in OO, also mention that the wishes Glaceon can pass aren't very large due to its low base HP. Also, remove the part in Checks and Counters about how Carracosta can switch into Ice Beam, since Shell Smash Costa takes like 75-85% or something from it and is outsped without a boost. It can force it out though if it's still healthy.

[SET COMMENTS]

A Choice Specs set allows Glaceon to serve as a powerful wallbreaker, being able to deal heavy damage to many Pokemon in the tier, and this is Glaceon's best way to stand out from Jynx (I feel that this is unnecessary. If you want to emphasize this point, I think it should be in the overview with something along the lines of "However, Glaceon does have several advantages over Jynx, most notably a higher Special Attack stat and better bulk."). Ice Beam serves as strong and reliable STAB, being able to 2HKO Audino and Lickilicky after Stealth Rock damage. Hidden Power Ground hits Steel-types such as Probopass, as well as some Fire-types such as Rapidash. Signal Beam hits Jynx and Musharna rather (252+ SpA Choice Specs Glaceon Signal Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Jynx: 282-332 (104.05 - 122.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO <- that's pretty hard, also easily 2HKOs Musharna) hard, and serves as a filler in general. The last moveslot makes full use of Glaceon's relatively poor movepool. Baton Pass allows Glaceon to switch out of its counters and resort to a teammate, while Frost Breath allows it to bypass bypasses Calm Mind Musharna.

A Choice Specs allows Glaceon to serve as a powerful wallbreaker, being able to deal heavy damage to many Pokemon in the tier.

That said, Munchlax and Regice are the best counters to Glaceon available, as their great special bulk and Ice resistance means they take little from Ice Beam,(RC) and can cripple it with paralysis.
