(I couldn't decide...they all look so cool, lol)

Overview
########

Goodra is an underrated Dragon in Doubles. It has a stellar base 150 Special Defense stat backed by base 100 Attack and base 110 Special Attack. It also has a decent base 80 Speed stat. Goodra's large offensive movepool includes moves such as Draco Meteor, Power Whip, and Muddy Water. Its ability, Sap Sipper, allows it to wall Pokemon such as Venusaur and Amoonguss. Thanks to its superb special bulk, it is a great sun and rain check, walling Mega Charizard Y, Ludicolo, Politoed, and more.

While Goodra looks good on paper, it has some flaws that keep it from being used over other Dragons. Goodra's base 70 Defense allows powerful physical hits to tear through it. Although its Speed is decent, it isn't the best, and many offensive Pokemon outspeed it and hit it hard. Goodra also has a hard time getting around Fairies such as Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir, as it usually needs to rely on neutral coverage to hit them.

Special Tank
########
Name: Special Tank
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
move 4: Protect
ability: Sap Sipper
item: Life Orb
evs: 72 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
nature: Modest / Timid

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Goodra's hardest hitting STAB move. Fire Blast hits the Steel-types that resist Goodra's STAB moves super effectively. Thunderbolt grabs the third slot, 2HKOing Mega Charizard Y; Goodra is capable of taking any hit from it back. It also 2HKOes Azumarill, which is immune to Draco Meteor and resists Fire Blast. Ice Beam can be used over Thunderbolt to nail Pokemon that are 4x weak to Ice-type attacks, such as Landorus, Garchomp, and Shaymin-S, but do not the combination of Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, and Thunderbolt is not resisted by any Pokemon. The last slot is for Protect, which stalls field effects out and gives Goodra's ally a free turn to attack the opponent.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs allow Goodra to hit as hard as possible. 176 Speed EVs let Goodra outspeed Adamant Breloom and Bisharp, both of which it can nail with Fire Blast. 72 EVs are put into HP to minimize Life Orb recoil. The last 8 EVs are dumped into Defense, as Goodra already has a gigantic Special Defense stat. Modest is preferred so Goodra hits harder, but Timid allows Goodra to get the jump on fully invested Pokemon with base 70 Speed. Sap Sipper is the best ability, as it ensures that Pokemon such as Breloom, Venusaur, and Amoonguss are not able to put Goodra to sleep. Assault Vest is an option to let Goodra handle weather even better, in addition to helping it take Ludicolo's Ice Beam and even Kingdra's Draco Meteor more easily. It also lets Goodra take Draco Meteor from Hydreigon and Latios, after which it can KO them with a Draco Meteor of its own. Assault Vest, however, doesn't let Goodra hit as hard, and this can result in a loss of momentum. If Assault Vest is used, it is recommended to shift the Speed EVs into HP to allow Goodra to take hits better.

Usage Tips
========

Goodra has good 90 / 70 / 150 bulk, but it must watch out for powerful physical hits, which can put it out of commission. Its bulk and useful resistances allow it to tank hits, and its ability lets it easily absorb sleep. Goodra is a great offensive pivot, allowing it to keep up the momentum against your opponent.

Team Options
========

Goodra is more of a pivot and less of a sweeper, so Speed control helps it to outspeed faster threats. Cresselia is a decent partner, as its bulk allows it to survive for most of the match, and it can help Goodra secure OHKOs with Helping Hand. Follow Me or Rage Powder support is useful; in particular, Jirachi makes a great partner, as it resists Fairy- , Dragon- , and Ice-type moves. Intimidate and Will-O-Wisp support are also great for Goodra, as they patch up its weaker Defense stat. Hitmontop, Scrafty, and Rotom-W can make sure physical attackers have a harder time taking Goodra down, allowing it to continue to do its job. Bisharp and Mega Gengar can KO Fairy-types easily, allowing Goodra to spam Draco Meteor. Speaking of Fairies, Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir get a mention as they are immune to Dragon-type moves that might be aimed at Goodra.

Other Options
########

Dragon Pulse is an alternative STAB attack that doesn't lower Goodra's Special Attack. Flamethrower is an option over Fire Blast for accuracy over power. Sludge Bomb is a viable option to get around Fairies, although most Fairies can tank a Sludge Bomb and end up crippling Goodra in the process. Power Whip is an alternative that allows Goodra to OHKO Rotom-W after one Sap Sipper boost. In this case, a Quiet nature should be used to compromise neither Goodra's Attack nor defenses. However, this is situational, as Goodra tanks hits from Rotom-W and Rotom-W cannot hurt Goodra anyway. In addition to being powerful spread moves, Muddy Water and Earthquake can be used to lure in and hit Heatran hard. Hidden Power Ground is also an option to hit Heatran harder than Earthquake or Muddy Water. Gooey can help check some physical attackers, but Goodra shouldn't rely on this ability due to its lack of Defense. Bisharp also gets a +2 Attack boost from the Speed drop. Hydration + rain is nice for status absorbing and setting rain up for teammates. However, the only status Goodra must worry about is sleep, which is covered by Sap Sipper. Additionally, Rest is a momentum sapper in this fast-paced metagame. Feint can help Goodra break Protects, Wide Guards, and Quick Guards so that Goodra's ally can hit the opponent and catch them off-guard.

Checks and Counters
########

**Defensive Typing Advantage**: Assault Vest users such as Conkeldurr and Scrafty can take hits from Goodra and hit it on its weaker defensive stat. Cresselia can also take any hit Goodra dishes out, with its gigantic bulk, allowing it to wear down Goodra with Life Orb recoil and Psyshock / Moonblast. Heatran takes all of Goodra's attacks, though it cannot deal much damage to Goodra in return, so it needs Leftovers to win one-on-one.

**Offensive Typing Advantage**: Fairies such as Sylveon, Mega Gardevoir, and Togekiss can play around Goodra; they are immune to its STAB moves and can hit hard with their own Fairy STAB moves. Dragons such as Latios, Hydreigon, Kyurem-B, and Garchomp can check Goodra, as they are faster and can OHKO with their STAB moves. However, they cannot switch into Goodra's Life Orb-boosted Draco Meteor. Weavile is faster and has super effective STAB moves that can OHKO Goodra. Mamoswine can OHKO Goodra with Icicle Crash. A Timid Goodra will outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and OHKO with Draco Meteor; however, weakened ones can be KOed with Ice Shard.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Goodra's middling Defense leaves it prone to strong physical attacks. Terrakion outspeeds Goodra and has a 93.8% to OHKO it with a Life Orb-boosted Close Combat. Kangaskhan is also likely to OHKO (guaranteed with an Adamant nature) and has the bulk to withstand a Draco Meteor.

Overview:
  • Don't call it a wall, because it still has offensive presence. Just say it has a decent base Speed.
  • Add on to the Mega Charizard Y bullet that Goodra makes an great Rain/Sun check due to its ability to handle ZardY, Venusaur, Ludicolo, Manaphy etc.
  • Say it is typically outclassed by offensive Dragons that have dual STAB and higher Special Attack (Latios, Hydreigon), or better utility (Salamence).
  • The "No Dragon-type spread move" bullet is irrelevant for an Overview.
Set:
  • Change the name to Special Tank, and both lines above and below the ######## should say that.
  • Slash Assault Vest behind Life Orb as it lets Goodra handle Weather stuff like Ludicolo's Ice Beam and even Kingdra's Draco Meteor. It also lets Goodra take a hit from stuff like Latios and Hydreigon and KO back. However note that overall the loss in power can be a real burden. Put all this explanation in Set Details btw.
Moves:
  • Draco Meteor is for its hardest hitting STAB. Just saying it is its STAB implies it cannot use stuff like Dragon Pulse.
Set Details:
  • It only outspeeds Adamant Bisharp and Breloom.
  • "176 Speed EVs allows Goodra to outspeed Breloom and Bisharp killing both with Ice Beam and Fire Blast respectively," Fire Blast KOs both and is always in the set.
  • Getting a Sap Sipper Boost and fighting a Rotom-W is very situational. Just say it could use Power Whip to hit Rotom-W. Plus if it goes mixed it should probably use Quiet so it doesn't lose its defense. However, Rotom-W cannot touch Goodra anyway so this seems more like an Other Options mention to me.
  • Life Orb for Powuh and put the Ass Vest stuff here.
Usage Tips:
  • It shouldn't avoid Physical attackers at all costs. It just needs to be more careful around them.
  • Easy Hit-and-run with Draco Meteor and special bulk (can switch into MANY of Doubles' special attackers)
Team Options:
  • It is more of a pivot than a sweeper, so speed control isnt 100% necessary. It's just nice to have.
  • Fairy Killers (Bisharp, Mega Gengar)
  • Jirachi>Togekiss as a follow me partner because it beats Fairies and Dragons.
  • Intimidate and Will-O-Wisp partners help patch up its lower Defense.
Other Options:
  • Power Whip here
  • Muddy Water and Earthquake are spread and it hit Heatran hard.
  • Outrage to hit stuff with huge Special Defense.
  • Gooey to situationally check some physical attackers, but it shouldn't be relying on its Defense any time soon.
  • Hydration + Rain support, but the only status that particularly worries Goodra is Sleep which is covered by Sap Sipper.
Checks & Counters:
  • Specify Dragon Claw Garchomp because without it Goodra wins 1v1
  • Kyurem-B outspeeds and reks with Dragon Claw. Latios and Hydreigon KO if Goodra lacks Ass Vest.
  • Stuff like Mega Kangaskhan and Terrakion can take a hit and really hurt it.
  • Weavile and Mamoswine have nice Ice-type physical STABs.
  • Sylveon/Mega Gardevoir/Togekiss can dick with it
  • Assault Vest Conkeldurr and Scrafty win 1v1
  • Heatran shrugs off all of its attacks.

NO ASSAULT VEST. It kills your momentum harder than a burned Scrafty. Stick to LO + 3 attacks.

You could definitely stand to emphasize Sap Sipper a bit more in the writeup. While its immense special bulk is great (fuck Zard am I right), Sap Sipper is really what makes it stand out over the other available Dragon-types - it's the only one that can come in against Venusaur and Amoonguss without fear of being put to sleep. It also makes a nice switchin to Shaymin-S (Air Slash can't 2HKO while Fire Blast roasts it, assuming you don't get flinched to death).

I agree with no Assault Vest as a main slash, but I will mention it as an option in the Set Details.

Also I will emphasize Sap Sipper more in the write up, :) And you make some valid points I missed (Venu and Amoon not being able to put it to sleep and Shaymin-S being checked, :D)

I've already seen 3 Goodra threads on Smogon. Do people ACTUALLY love him worldwide?
PS: Salamence can't use Flying STAB whatsoever besides Fly (which lol it's Fly).

Yea only Latios and Hydreigon have reliable secondary STABs so reword it that it doesn't sound like Salamence has one in the overview.

Also because no ass vest Latios and Hydreigon should just be mentioned as checks.

  • "Tends to be outclassed by" <--- change this to something like "faces competition from", Goodra serves a different role from most other Dragons so it isnt outclassed per se
  • "as it makes sure that "fast sleepers", such as Breloom or Chlorophyll Venusaur, are not able to put it to sleep and Goodra can end up on top." <-- alter this to just encompass sleepers in general, so that way you can mention somethin about amoonguss as well
  • slash timid behind modest
  • remove outrage from OO. 100 base atk + not being able to choose your target = a poor move choice for goodra
  • add how goodra is a great offensive pivot in its usage tips
  • in checks + counters say how powerful physical hits can put it out of commission

As per your VM request

Overview
-Manaphy isn't that common. Mention Politoed instead
-you seem to place too much emphasis on its lone Dragon-typing as being a negative. It's not that bad and it is often even advantageous due to having less weaknesses than the other Dragons which further augments its bulk. There are two main reasons why it is often inferior to its Dragon-type competition, one is its Defense stat which you mentioned. The second, and bigger, issue, which you haven't included and must include, is its Speed. You mentioned in the first paragraph that it is decent, but in reality it is significantly lower than that of its competition, and many of the dominant attackers in the metagame.
Its lone Dragon typing also means it has no secondary STAB to help it get around Fairies and must rely on neverused coverage to beat Sylveon or Mega Gardevoir.
Sorta misleading, as even Dragons with a secondary STAB should not use it against Fairies (Hydreigon, Salamence, physical KCube sets). I wouldn't reference the lone typing as an issue against Fairies, rather just state that it has issues against Fairies. I also wouldn't say to beat Sylveon and Mega Gard, as you should not be using Goodra to beat them (in fact I would probably swap out against said threats). Rather say it must usually rely on neutral coverage against Fairy types. The reason I say usually is because Goodra is capable of running Sludge Bomb

On that topic, add Sludge Bomb to OO specifically for fairies

Other things for OO
-You mention Hydration + Rain support is nice for setting rain up, which is false as rain support indicates an ally is setting it up. Rather it is nice for access to 100% HP recovery and status absorbing, the former being more important (as you've said, it only really minds sleep). The biggest issue with it is not so much that the only status it minds is sleep, rather that it is difficult to find time to use Rest in such a fast-paced metagame where opponents can prey on the loss of momentum associated with Rest and/or Goodra's average Defense stat
-mention Flamethrower as an option over Fire Blast. Accuracy vs power
-add Dragon Pulse for STAB without lowering your SpA
-mention HP Ground with EQ. It actually deals more damage to Heatran than EQ, even with a Quiet nature

Set comments
-mention that no Pokemon resists the combination of Draco Meteor, Flamethrower and Tbolt when or after discussing TBolt. Also mention that it provides super-effective coverage on Azumarill, who walls Draco Meteor + Fire Blast
-mention the option of shifting Spe EVs into HP when using Assualt vest for even more augmentation of its bulk

Team Options
-Jirachi also takes Ice-type attacks for Goodra
-You've said Intimidate users ensure no physical attacker can take it down, which is false in a literal sense. Rather they make it harder to take down

Counters
-Garchomp always OHKOs Goodra wiht Dragon Claw unless you invest more in HP. Mention this = it's not just KCube
-all the special attacking Dragons (Latios, Salamence and Hydriegon) always OHKO with Draco Meteor
-may as well change 'faster dragon-types' to 'opposing dragon-types' because every single OU dragon-type is faster than goodra
-Mamoswine is not faster than Goodra

Should be good to go after this, but I rather myself or anotehr QC member double check first

A few extra things

80 HP reaches a HP stat or 341. As Life Orb is the main item, we should try to minimise LO damage. Change EV spread to 72 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA / 176 Spe. Mention why this is the spread as opposed to 80 HP (Life Orb, remainder in Def as investing in SpD isn't going to make much difference due to its gigantic SpD)

While Goodra looks good on paper, it has some flaws that keep it from being used often in Dubs.
Avoid referring to Pokemon's usage when possible, as that can change over time. It is better to refer to its quality instead of its usage.

It also hits Azumarill, who is immune to Draco Meteor and resists Fire Blast.
2HKOes Azumarill. Of course Tbolt hits Azumarill; it also hits Rotom-Cut.

If Assault Vest is used, shift the Speed EVs into HP to allows Goodra to take hits better.
Say it is recommended to shift the speed EVs. Whilst it is recommended, it's not necessary; some teams may prefer the extra Speed.

Goodra's natural bulk allows it to tank hits and play a game of hit and run with its STAB, Draco Meteor.
Its bulk and useful resists allow it to tank hits.

Regarding Heatran in counters
252+ SpA Life Orb Goodra Thunderbolt vs. 180 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 118-140 (32 - 38%) -- 0.6% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery, 96.1% chance to 3HKO without
252+ SpA Heatran Earth Power vs. 72 HP Goodra: 76-90 (22.4 - 26.5%) -- 20.9% chance to 4HKO

252+ SpA Heatran Flash Cannon / HP Ice vs. 72 HP Goodra: 102-120 (30 - 35.3%) -- 22% chance to 3HKO

Heatran isn't doing much to Goodra in return as well. Heatran wins 1v1 if it holds Leftovers, as it lets it avoid the 3HKO whilst Heatran 3HKOes back thanks to Life Orb recoil. Or Specs but that's never seen.

Add to your comment that Heatran isn't doing much to Goodra in return and will usually need a Leftovers to win 1v1.

Also add Cress to counters, as it can easily withstand Goodra thanks to its gigantic bulk whilst slowly wearing down Goodra with either Psyshock or Moonblast in combination with Goodra's Life Orb recoil.

After these changes, this analysis is ready

P.S. there were a few grammar errors; I recommend that you double check what you've written before handing this to the GP team.

Goodra is an underrated Dragon in Doubles. It has a great 150 Special Defense stat backed by 100 Attack and 110 Special Attack. It also has a decent 80 Speed stat. It's offensive movepool is expansive including moves such as Draco Meteor, Power Whip, and Muddy Water. Its ability,(AC) Sap Sipper,(AC) allows it to wall pokes such as Venusaur and Amoonguss and tanking their special hits as well you sort of say this twice. Due to its decent HP and superb Special Defense, it is a great sun and rain check, walling Mega Charizard Y, Ludicolo, Politoed, and more.

While Goodra looks good on paper, it has some flaws that keep it from being used over other Dragons. Its base 70 Defense allows powerful physical hits to tear through Goodra. Although its Speed is decent, it isn't the best as many offensive Pokemon outspeed it and
can hit Goodra hard. It also has a hard time getting around Fairies such as Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir,(AC) as it usually needs to rely on neutral coverage to hit them hard.

Draco Meteor is Goodra's hardest hitting STAB
move STAB is an adjective :). Fire Blast hits the Steel-types that resists Goodra's STAB type super effectively. Thunderbolt grabs the third slot,(AC) 2HKOing Mega Charizard Y while taking any hit from Mega Charizard Y it. It also 2HKOes Azumarill, who is immune to Draco Meteor and resists Fire Blast. Ice Beam can be used over Thunderbolt to nail the 4x Ice weak Pokesmon such as Landorus, Garchomp, and Shaymin-Sky.The last slot is for Protect, which stalls out field effects and gives your ally a free turn to attack the opponent. The combination of Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, and Thunderbolt is resisted by no Pokemon as well.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs
is are used, allowing Goodra to hit as hard as possible. 176 Speed EVs are to outspeed Adamant Breloom and Bisharp. Goodra nails both of them with Fire Blast. 72 EVs are put into HP to minimize Life Orb recoil. The last 8 EVs are dumped into Defense as it already has a gigantic Special Defense stat. Modest is preferred so Goodra hits harder, but Timid allows Goodra to get the jump on Jolly positive-natured because of naive and hasty and stuff base 70's. Sap Sipper is the best ability as it makes sure that sleepers inducers such as Breloom, Venusaur, and Amoonguss are not able to put it to sleep. Assault Vest is an option to let Goodra handle weather even better, taking Ludicolo's Ice Beam and even Kingdra's Draco Meteor. It also lets Goodra take Draco Meteor from Hydreigon and Latios and KO them with a Draco Meteor of its own Draco Meteor. Assault Vest, however, doesn't let Goodra hit as hard and can lose momentum for the team. If Assault Vest is used, it is recommended to shift the Speed EVs into HP to allows Goodra to take hits better.

Usage Tips
========

Goodra has good 90 / 70 / 150 bulk, but it must watch for powerful physical hits as they can put Goodra out of commission. Its bulk and useful resist
sances allow it to tank hits. Goodra is a great offensive pivot, allowing it to keep up the momentum against your opponent and has utility in absorbing sleep.

Team Options
========

Goodra is more of a pivot and not a sweeper so speed control is nice for it to outspeed faster threats. Cresselia is a decent partner as its bulk allows it to survive throughout the match and it can help Goodra secure OHKOes with Helping Hand. Follow Me
/ or Rage Powder support is useful; particularly Jirachi makes a great partner, resisting Fairiesy-, Dragons-, and Ice-types moves. Intimidate and Will-O-Wisp support are also great for Goodra,(AC) as it patches up Goodra's weaker Defense stat. Hitmontop, Scrafty, and Rotom-W can make sure physical attackers have a harder time taking Goodra down, allowing it to continue to do its job. Bisharp and Mega Gengar are very helpful as they are great Fairy killers, allowing Goodra to "spam" Draco Meteor. Speaking of Fairies, Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir get a mention as they are immune to Dragon-type moves aimed at Goodra.

Other Options########

Dragon Pulse is an alternative STAB that doesn't lower Goodra's Special Attack
by 2 levels this is a bit more personal, but 2 should be spelled out anyways. Flamethrower is an option over Fire Blast for accuracy over power. Sludge Bomb is a viable option, allowing Goodra to get around Fairies, although most Fairies can tank a Sludge Bomb and end up crippling Goodra in the process. Power Whip is an alternative, allowing Goodra to OHKO Rotom-W after one Sap Sipper boost. In this case, a Quiet nature should be used to avoid compromise neither Goodra's Attack / nor defenses drop. This is situational as Goodra tanks hits from Rotom-W and Rotom-W cannot hurt Goodra anyways. Muddy Water and EQ Earthquake are spread moves Goodra has and these can be used to lure and hit Heatran hard. Hidden Power Ground is also an option to hit Heatran harder than EQ Earthquake or Muddy Water. Gooey can help check some physical attackers, but it shouldn't rely on this ability due to its lack of Defense. Bisharp also gets a +2 Attack boost from the Speed drop. Hydration + rain is nice for status absorbing / and setting rain up for teammates. However the only status Goodra must worry about is sleep, which is covered by Sap Sipper. Also Rest is a momentum sucker in this fast-paced metagame. Feint can help Goodra break Protects,(AC) / Wide Guards,(AC) / Quick Guards, so Goodra's ally can hit the opponent and catch them off guard.

Checks and Counters
########

**Opposing Dragon-types**: Faster Dragons such as Latios, Hydreigon, and Garchomp can beat Goodra as they can overpower Goodra and proceed to OHKO with Draco Meteor. Dragon Claw Garchomp in particular takes Goodra down faster since it hits on Garchomp OHKOes it. Kyurem-Black also outspeeds and OHKOes with Dragon Claw.

**Powerful Physical Attackers**: Pokemon such as Terrakion and Mega Kangaskhan are good checks, hitting
on Goodra's weaker defensive stat and can putting it out of commission.

**Ice-type Pokemon**: Weavile is faster and can kill Goodra with its Ice-
type STAB. Mamoswine can revenge kill Goodra with Ice Shard.

**Fairies**: Sylveon, Mega Gardevoir, and Togekiss can all play around Goodra, hitting it super effectively while Goodra cannot use its STAB
moves against them.

**Assault Vest Users**: Assault Vest Conkeldurr and Assault Vest Scrafty take Goodra's hits and end up on top 1v1.

**Heatran**: Heatran takes any hit Goodra has, even resisting its STAB
moves. However, Heatran isn't doing much to Goodra in return. Heatran will win 1v1 if it holds Leftovers, but otherwise Goodra beats it.

**Cresselia**: Cresselia has gigantic bulk, allowing it to take multiple hits from Goodra and wear it down with Life Orb recoil and Psyshock
/ or Moonblast.

Hope I helped!! :)

Although its Speed is decent, it isn't the best as many offensive Pokemon outspeed it and can hit Goodra hard. It also has a hard time getting around Fairies such as Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir,(AC) as it usually needs to rely on neutral coverage to hit them hard.

Mamoswine is a good check as it can revenge kill with Ice Shard.
Move the Heatran line to last; Heatran is the less effective check of the aforementioned Pokemon in the paragraph. As I stated earlier, mention that Heatran cannot deal much damage to Goodra in return. "Heatran takes all of Goodra's attacks. It cannot deal much damage to Goodra in return, however, so it needs Leftovers to win 1v1."

In the second paragraph, state "Mamoswine can OHKO Goodra with Icicle Crash. A Timid Goodra will outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and OHKO with Draco Meteor, however, weakened variants can be KOed with Ice Shard."

Mega Kang and Terrakion do not fit in any of the 6 sample tags categories for 6th Gen Doubles, as neither are good options to switch into Goodra (Draco Meteor hurts, even though Mega Kang can survivie it). Sorry Lolk ,
Sample Tags for 6th Gen Doubles Checks and Counters said:
While most scenarios do apply to these tags, specific checks and counters that are unique to a few Pokemon are relevant and do deserve their own tag.
So I will approve of a *Strong Physical Attackers* tab specifically for this. State that "Whilst Goodra is very specially bulky, it has a low Defensive stat, and as such is prone to strong physical attacks. Terrakion outspeeds Goodra and has a 93.8% to OHKO Goodra with a Life Orb boosted Close Combat. Kangaskhan is also likely to OHKO (guaranteed with an Adamant nature) and has the bulk to withstand a Draco Meteor."

fleurdyleurse perhaps recheck the new sentences that nightmare vampire creates? It's only a few changes.

Was not expecting a GP check as I was writing this

In the second paragraph, state "Mamoswine can OHKO Goodra with Icicle Crash. A Timid Goodra will outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and OHKO with Draco Meteor, however, weakened variants can be KOed with Ice Shard."

Mega Kang and Terrakion do not fit in any of the 6 sample tags categories for 6th Gen Doubles, as neither are good options to switch into Goodra (Draco Meteor hurts, even though Mega Kang can survivie it). Sorry Lolk ,

Was not expecting a GP check as I was writing this
Thank you Darkmalice. I took this stuff and applied the changes. I hope the rest of the process can go smoothly, :P

Overview
########

Goodra is an underrated Dragon in Doubles. It has a great stellar base 150 Special Defense stat backed by base 100 Attack and base 110 Special Attack. It also has a decent base 80 Speed stat. It Goodra has a large offensive movepool which includes moves such as Draco Meteor, Power Whip, and Muddy Water. Its ability, Sap Sipper, allows it to wall Pokemon such as Venusaur and Amoonguss. Thanks to its decent HP and superb Special Defense, it is a great sun and rain check, walling Mega Charizard Y, Ludicolo, Politoed, and more.

While Goodra looks good on paper, it has some flaws that keep it from being used over other Dragons. Goodra's Its base 70 Defense allows powerful physical hits to tear through it Goodra. Although its Speed is decent, it isn't the best, as and many offensive Pokemon outspeed it and hit it Goodra hard. Goodra It also has a hard time getting around Fairies such as Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir, as it usually needs to rely on neutral coverage to hit them hard.

Special Tank
########
Name: Special Tank
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Fire Blast
move 3: Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
move 4: Protect
ability: Sap Sipper
item: Life Orb
evs: 72 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
nature: Modest / Timid

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Goodra's hardest hitting STAB move. Fire Blast hits the Steel-types that resist Goodra's STAB moves super effectively. Thunderbolt grabs the third slot, 2HKOing Mega Charizard Y while Goodra is capable of taking any hit from it back. It also 2HKOes Azumarill, which is immune to Draco Meteor and resists Fire Blast. Ice Beam can be used over Thunderbolt to nail the Pokemon that are 4x weak to Ice-type attacks, [comma] such as Landorus, Garchomp, and Shaymin-S. [space] The last slot is for Protect, which stalls field effects out and gives your ally a free turn to attack the opponent. The combination of Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, and Thunderbolt is not resisted by any Pokemon as well.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs allow are used, allowing Goodra to hit as hard as possible. 176 Speed EVs let Goodra are to outspeed Adamant Breloom and Bisharp, both of which it can nail with Fire Blast. Goodra nails both of them with Fire Blast. 72 EVs are put into HP to minimize Life Orb recoil. The last 8 EVs are dumped into Defense, [comma] as Goodra it already has a gigantic Special Defense stat. Modest is preferred so Goodra hits harder, but Timid allows Goodra to get the jump on fully invested Pokemon with base 70 Speed maximum Speed base 70s. Sap Sipper is the best ability, [comma] as it makes sure that Pokemon sleep inducers such as Breloom, Venusaur, and Amoonguss are not able to put it to sleep. Assault Vest is an option to let Goodra handle weather even better, in addition to helping it take taking Ludicolo's Ice Beam and even Kingdra's Draco Meteor more easily. It also lets Goodra take Draco Meteor from Hydreigon and Latios, [comma] after which it can and KO them with a Draco Meteor of its own. Assault Vest, however, doesn't let Goodra hit as hard and thus can lose momentum for the team. If Assault Vest is used, it is recommended to shift the Speed EVs into HP to allows Goodra to take hits better.

Usage Tips
========

Goodra has good 90 / 70 / 150 bulk, but it must watch for powerful physical hits, [comma] as they can put Goodra out of commission. Its bulk and useful resistances allow it to tank hits, and its ability lets it easily absorb sleep. Goodra is a great offensive pivot, allowing and that allows it to keep up the momentum against your opponent and has utility in absorbing sleep.

Team Options
========

Goodra is more of a pivot and less of not a sweeper, so Speed control helps is nice for it to outspeed faster threats. Cresselia is a decent partner, [comma] as its bulk allows it to survive most of throughout the match, [comma] and it can help Goodra secure OHKOs with Helping Hand. Follow Me or Rage Powder support is useful; in particular, Jirachi makes a great partner, as it resists resisting Fairy- , Dragon- , and Ice-type moves. Intimidate and Will-O-Wisp support are also great for Goodra, as they patch up Goodra's weaker Defense stat. Hitmontop, Scrafty, and Rotom-W can make sure physical attackers have a harder time taking Goodra down, allowing it to continue to do its job. Bisharp and Mega Gengar are very helpful as they can KO Fairy-types easily, allowing Goodra to spam Draco Meteor.

Sludge Bomb is a viable option, allowing Goodra to get around Fairies, although most Fairies can tank a Sludge Bomb and end up crippling Goodra in the process. Power Whip is an alternative that allows , allowing Goodra to OHKO Rotom-W after one Sap Sipper boost. In this case, a Quiet nature should be used to compromise neither Goodra's Attack nor defenses. However, this is situational, [comma] as Goodra tanks hits from Rotom-W and Rotom-W cannot hurt Goodra anyways. In addition to being powerful spread moves, [comma] Muddy Water and Earthquake are spread moves Goodra has and these can be used to lure in and hit Heatran hard. Hidden Power Ground is also an option to hit Heatran harder than Earthquake or Muddy Water. Gooey can help check some physical attackers, but Goodra it shouldn't rely on this ability due to its lack of Defense. Bisharp also gets a +2 Attack boost from the Speed drop. Hydration + rain is nice for status absorbing and setting rain up for teammates. However, the only status Goodra must worry about is sleep, which is covered by Sap Sipper. Also Additionally, Rest is a momentum sapper in this fast-paced metagame. Feint can help Goodra break Protects, Wide Guards, Quick Guards, so that Goodra's ally can hit the opponent and catch them off guard.

Checks and Counters
########

**Defensive Pokemon**: Fairies such as Sylveon, Mega Gardevoir, and Togekiss can play around Goodra, hitting Goodra super effectively, [comma] while Goodra cannot use its STAB attacks against Fairies. Assault Vest users such as Assault Vest Conkeldurr and Assault Vest Scrafty can take hits from Goodra and hit it on its weaker defensive stat. Cresselia can also take any hit Goodra dishes out, [comma] as it has gigantic bulk, allowing it to wear down Goodra with Life Orb recoil and Psyshock / Moonblast. Heatran takes all of Goodra's attacks, [. to ,] though it cannot deal much damage to Goodra in return, however, so it needs Leftovers to win one-on-one 1v1.

**Offensive Typing Advantage**: Dragons such as Latios, Hydreigon, Kyurem-B, [comma] and Garchomp can check Goodra, [comma] as they are faster and can OHKO with their STAB moves Goodra. All these Dragons are faster, [comma] but they cannot switch into Goodra's Life Orb boosted Draco Meteor. Weavile is faster and has super effective STAB moves that can OHKO Goodra. Mamoswine can OHKO Goodra with Icicle Crash. A Timid Goodra will outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and OHKO with Draco Meteor; [, to ;] however, weakened ones variants can be KOed with Ice Shard.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Whilst Goodra is very specially bulky, it has a low Defensive stat, and as such, [comma] is prone to strong physical attacks. Terrakion outspeeds Goodra and has a 93.8% to OHKO Goodra with a Life Orb boosted Close Combat. Kangaskhan is also likely to OHKO (guaranteed with an Adamant nature) and has the bulk to withstand a Draco Meteor.
