Mention entry hazard removal in TO because despite not having a weakness to Stealth Rock, layers of Spikes and especially Toxic Spikes make Gourgeist pretty much unable to wall stuff like +2 Carracosta and pretty easy to wear down.

Checks & Counters don't need to be written up like that, just keep them like they were before (look at this if you're confused).

Do this and I'll stamp. :)

Before the last stamp i want to add stuff:
Overview: Its attack stat to give it an 'offensive presence' doesnt mean much when the main move you are using are willo/foul play. It is much more comparable to torterra or even tangela than roselia. You also have to see its niche over those mons. Its better to say ice and dark types rather than ice beam and knock off to include more.

In TO say that grumpig checks fire types rather than probo, as it has a resistance and wont get bopped by a fighting attack.

Also mention trick when talking about oo

Overview
########

Gourgeist-XL is a defensive staple in the PU metagame thanks to its excellent typing, movepool and stats. It can blanket check and/or counter many of the tier's premier wallbreakers and sweepers such as Golem, Carracosta and Torterra, golem isn't a wallbreaker/sweeper by any means so i'd either remove that mention or say 'common pkmn' or something along those lines and has the added benefit of having a solid Attack stat to give itself some offensive presence. However, Gourgeist is fairly slow and faces competition from fellow defensive grass types including Quilladin and Roselia, which can support their team with spikes, and its unique Grass/Ghost typing leaves it weak to the common Knock Off and Ice Beam, as well as the common Fire-types in the tier. Nevertheless, Gourgeist has a solid niche as an easy catch-all on balanced and defensive teams.

as a sidenote plz capitalize moves and use '[Typing]-type' as it really easens the load on gp :/

move 2: Synthesis
move 3: Foul Play
move 4: Seed Bomb
ability: Frisk
item: Leftovers
evs: EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
nature: Impish

Moves
========
Will-o-Wisp is Gourgeist's main draw, as it can spread burns around to cripple opposing teams. Synthesis gives Gourgeist a reliable recovery move to keep it healthy throughout the game. Seed Bomb serves as Gourgeist's main STAB move and allows it to check Water-types like Poliwrath more consistently, while Foul Play punishes physical setup Pokemon and allows Gourgeist to hit most notable resistances to Seed Bomb for neutral damage, such as Rapidash.

Set Details
========

Maximum HP and Defense EVs are used to make Gourgeist as physically bulky as possible, with an Impish nature further increasing its Defense. Gourgeist holds Leftovers to give it extra passive recovery, and Frisk is used to scout out opposing items.

Usage Tips
========

Gourgeist is capable of countering most of the tier's Physical attackers that lack a Super Effective STAB move, but can be a predictable switch-in, so so avoid being so predictable that you can be taken advantage of this sentence is worded really weirdly and some examples would be nice, as it's not really understandable what you mean here; like a double, or knock off from fighting types? toxic from a defensive carracosta u thought was offensive? EXAMPLES are key for this stuff imo.). When in, Gourgeist should spread burns as much as possible but also be careful of Guts and Flash Fire Pokemon, which can get a free switch-in and fire off boosted attacks. Gourgeist can also block Rapid Spins due to its Ghost typing, so bringing it in on predicted common spinners such as Armaldo can keep hazards up for later. Make sure that Gourgeist stays healthy throughout the match by using Synthesis, as it needs to stay at higher health to take strong physical attacks like a +2 Life Orb Stone Edge from Carracosta. In addition, beware switching it into the common Water-types of the tier simply due to type advantage, as nearly all offensive Water-types carry Ice Beam and can do significant damage to Gourgeist on the switch. also shit like defensive carracosta can burn geist which really hinders its ability to wall stuff/dmg w/ seed bomb on costa etc.

Team Options
========

Gourgeist's unique Grass/Ghost typing gives it incredible synergy with most of PU's non-Grass-type defensive staples. Poliwrath can take on Dark-type attackers like Pawniard and check Fire-types like Rapidash, while Gourgeist can take the Electric and Ice (??? also np chu and zeb break through geist easily so might wanna suggest something like pilo w/ this core.) attacks aimed at Poliwrath, although the two are both weak to flying. Probopass can cover Flying-types like Dodrio as well as checking Fire-types and trapping Pawniard for Gourgeist, while Gourgeist can cover its Ground and Fighting weaknesses. Grumpig is useful for Gourgeist as it can counter the tier's most threatening ice types (fire fire fire altho this has been pointed out) and give Gourgeist Heal Bell support in case of stray status, but also adds on a second Dark-type weakness. Gourgeist also works well with common setters of Stealth Rock such as Piloswine and Stunfisk, as it can cover their weaknesses to Grass and Water as well as keeping their Stealth Rock up by spinblocking.

Other Options
########

Gourgeist can run offensive sets such as Choice Banded due to its solid attack and good physical movepool. It can also opt to run Leech Seed and/or Protect over Seed Bomb or Foul Play as well as Rocky Helmet over leftovers to rack up more residual damage and passive recovery at the cost of offensive presence and being walled and/or set up on by more Pokemon depending on which move it gives up. Rock Slide can also be used to hit most of Gourgeist's common Ice and Fire-type switchins for super effective damage. Phantom Force can be used as a stronger STAB move, although it can also be easily taken advantage of on the charging turn, while Shadow Sneak gives Gourgeist priority to pick of weakened threats but is very weak. Toxic is an option over Will-o-Wisp, although burns are generally more useful for Gourgeist to neuter Physically attacking switchins. Magic Coat is also a surprise option to reflect back hazards and status, but Gourgeist generally misses the lost moveslot. Gourgeist is also an effective setter of Trick Room with its high bulk, low speed and access to Explosion. A Specially Defensive EV spread and nature can also be run but is not as effective due to Gourgeist's lower special defense and competition from Roselia

you could at least try to downplay stuff like TR a little as it's niche and usually not worth using geist for over other sets, OO stuff generally shouldn't be put in a very positive light

Checks & Counters
########

Gourgeist's biggest issues come from the common Fire-types in the tier such as Torkoal, Ninetales and Rapidash as they resist Seed Bomb and are immune to Will-o-Wisp and can threaten Gourgeist with their Super Effective STAB moves. dash must be wary of foul play though, while koal and tales can just come in for free and tales can even set up a sub Special Ice types such as Regice and Rotom-f, while not immune to burns or resistant to Seed Bomb, do not suffer from the Physical Attack drop of burn and threaten to KO Gourgeist with their STAB moves. Pokemon with the abilities Guts or Flash Fire such as Machoke or Rapidash make Gourgeist (i'm not sure how much id emphasise machoke as geist still doesn't take much from it and can whittle it down altho losing your item fkn sucks) much more cautious about freely spreading burns, although do not appreciate switching into Seed Bombs or Foul Plays. Duosion can use Gourgeist for setup fodder thanks to its high bulk allowing it to take even Super Effective Foul Plays and its immunity to residual damage from burn. Users of Taunt, Substitute and Encore such as Vigoroth and Gogoat can abuse Gourgeist's reliance on non-attacking moves to lock it into non-damaging moves, set up free Substitutes on a status move, or prevent Gourgeist from using its defensive moves at all. Finally, burn and toxic can cripple Gourgeist by keeping it at low health and preventing it from Synthesis stalling easily, making it far easier for teams to deal with Gourgeist.

i mean i guess you could add sand as that really hinders geist's ability to cockblock stoutland, also isn't this supposed to be in bullet point form LOL

this isn't really a comment on the qc side of the analysis but please please please go through the spelling and grammar standards as it makes it easier for all parties involved

also you seem to use and/or a lot which is kind of repetitive and makes it a bit monotonous to read

Ok did stuff from all of these but I didn't have the old CC (MFW DERP) so I rewrote those, you might want to take a look at that section before stamping because it was basically just written GrimoireGod. Also totally changed the first and last sentences of UT because I realized that writing and being in the PU room is stupid, so apologies for a shitty analysis to have to edit Grimoire and Kingler12345.

Usage Tips
========
-In the last usage tip just say to scout a little for moves because some Pokemon, including Carracosta and Poliwrath, may use a different set that can cripple or defeat Carracosta (both can use Ice Beam and Costa can indeed be defensive).

Checks & Counters
########
-When you talk about Ice-types also say how they can take advantage of Gourgeist (Rotom-F sets up a Sub, Regice Rock Polishes).
-Machoke doesn't really fear an unboosted Seed Bomb. Say that Machoke actually gets outstalled by Leech Seed if it doesn't have RestTalk.
-Vigoroth can't really do much back so give another example.

This looks good, 3/3.

**Fire-types (lowercase and hyphen)**: Fire-types (hyphen) such as Rapidash, Ninetales, (AC) and Torkoal are immune to Gourgeist-XL's Will-O-Wisp and take little damage from Seed Bomb, although Rapidash has to be careful about switching into a Foul Play. Torkoal and Ninetales can use Gourgeist-XL for setup fodder and all they can threaten to OHKO or 2HKO Gourgeist it with their super effective (lowercase) STAB moves.

**Ice-types (lowercase and hyphen)**: PU's special Ice-types like Rotom-Frost such as Rotom-F and Regice are able to switch in freely on Gourgeist-XL to threaten it out and not be crippled with the burn attack drop, although Aurorus is should be wary of switching in on the Seed Bomb. While physical Ice-types like such as Beartic are threatening to Gourgeist-XL given a free switch-in, (remove hyphen seems more of a verb to me) they can be crippled by burn and take much more from Foul Play. (period)

**Status**: Burn and Toxic poison constantly wear down Gourgeist-XL, making it much more difficult for it to effectively wall Pokemon and recover lost health.

**Roselia**: Roselia takes little damage from either of Gourgeist-XL's offensive moves and has Natural Cure, (AC) which can heal burns and stop it from being permanently crippled. It can use Gourgeist-XL as a free setup opportunity to lay Spikes or Toxic Spikes, which also hinder Gourgeist-XL's effectiveness through making it more difficult to switch into strong physical attackers and poisoning it. (period)

**Pokemon with Guts and Flash Fire**: Guts and Flash Fire users such as Machoke and Rapidash can abuse Gourgeist-XL's use of Will-O-Wisp to potentially be powered up on the switch-in. However, Rapidash has to be careful about switching into a Foul Play and Machoke has trouble beating Gourgeist-XL without the Guts boost, especially if it gets Leech Seeded.

**Taunt, Substitute and Encore**: These three moves can hinder Gourgeist-XL by either stopping it from using its support moves, using them to get up a free Substitute, or locking it into an ineffective move. Common Pokemon such as Grumpig and Chatot that can take advantage of Gourgeist-XL's reliance on non-attacking moves. (period) include Grumpig and Chatot

**Magic Guard**: Pokemon with Magic Guard such as Duosion and Clefairy can use Gourgeist-XL as a free opportunity to set up Calm Minds or and Stealth Rock respectively, because of their immunity to burn damage coupled with and high enough bulk to easily take any of Gourgeist-XL's offensive moves. Gourgeist-XL can also block Rapid Spins Spin due to its Ghost typing, so bringing it in on common spinners such as Armaldo can keep entry hazards on the field. Make sure that Gourgeist-XL stays healthy throughout the match by using Synthesis, as it needs to stay at higher health to take strong physical attacks such as a +2 Life Orb Stone Edge from Carracosta. In addition, beware of switching it into common Water-types simply due to type advantage, as nearly all offensive Water-types carry Ice Beam and can do significant damage to Gourgeist-XL on the switch. Make sure to scout out sets before blindly switching in Gourgeist-XL, as some Pokemon can carry moves that can cripple it on the switch in switch-in, such as defensive Carracosta's with Toxic.

Team Options
========

Gourgeist-XL's unique Ghost / Grass Grass / Ghost typing gives it incredible synergy with most of PU's non-Grass-type defensive staples. Poliwrath can take on Dark- and Fire-types such as Pawniard and Rapidash, while Gourgeist-XL can take the Electric- and Grass-type attacks aimed at Poliwrath, although they're both weak to Flying-type moves. Probopass can cover Flying-types such as Dodrio, (remove comma) as well as check Fire-types and trap Pawniard with Magnet Pull, while Gourgeist-XL can cover Probopass's Ground and Fighting weaknesses. Grumpig is a useful teammate for Gourgeist-XL, as it can counter the metagame's most threatening Ice-types and give Gourgeist-XL Heal Bell support in case of stray status, though running Grumpig comes at the cost of adding on a second Dark-type weakness. Gourgeist-XL also works well with common entry hazard setters such as Piloswine and Stunfisk, as it can cover their weaknesses to Grass- and Water-type moves, (remove comma) as well as keep their Stealth Rock on the field by spinblocking. Gourgeist-XL also appreciates entry hazard removal by Pokemon such as Togetic and Pelipper, as the a lack of entry hazards makes it much easier for Gourgeist-XL to constantly switch into strong physical attackers and the removal of Toxic Spikes can prevent Gourgeist-XL from being crippled by status.

Other Options
=============

Gourgeist-XL can run offensive sets such as Choice Band with Trick due to its solid Attack and good physical movepool. It also has the option of running Leech Seed and Protect over Seed Bomb and Synthesis as well as Rocky Helmet over Leftovers to rack up more residual damage and passive recovery, though this set loses offensive presence, is easily walled, and is at the cost of offensive presence, being walled, and set up on by more Pokemon depending on which move it uses. Rock Slide can also be used to hit most of Gourgeist-XL's common Ice- and Fire-type switch-ins for super effective damage. Phantom Force can be used as a stronger STAB move, although it can also be easily taken advantage of on the charging turn, while Shadow Sneak gives Gourgeist-XL priority to pick off weakened threats but is very weak. Toxic is an option over Will-O-Wisp, although burns are generally more useful for Gourgeist-XL to neuter physical attackers. Magic Coat is also a surprise option to reflect back entry hazards and status, but Gourgeist-XL generally misses the lost moveslot. Gourgeist-XL is also an effective Trick Room setter due to its low Speed and high bulk. An EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD Spdef / 4 Atk and a Careful nature can also be used, (remove comma) but is not as effective due to Gourgeist-XL's low Special Defense and competition from Roselia.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Rapidash, Ninetales, and Torkoal are immune to Gourgeist-XL's Will-O-Wisp and take little damage from Seed Bomb, although Rapidash has to be careful about switching into Foul Play. Torkoal and Ninetales can use Gourgeist-XL for setup fodder and they can threaten to OHKO or 2HKO it with their super effective STAB moves.

**Ice-types**: PU's special Ice-types such as Rotom-Frost and Regice are able to switch in freely on Gourgeist-XL to threaten it out and are not be crippled offensively by burns with the Attack drop from a burn, although Aurorus should be wary of switching in on the Seed Bomb. While physical Ice-types such as Beartic are threatening to Gourgeist when given a free switch in, they can be crippled by burns and take much more from Foul Play.

**Status**: Burn and poison constantly wear down Gourgeist, making it much more difficult for it to effectively wall Pokemon and recover lost health.

**Roselia**: Roselia takes little damage from either of Gourgeist-XL's offensive moves and has Natural Cure, which can heal burns and stop it from being permanently crippled. It can use Gourgeist-XL as a free setup opportunity to lay Spikes or Toxic Spikes, which also hinder Gourgeist-XL's effectiveness by making it more difficult for Gourgeist-XL to switch into strong physical attackers and poisoning it.

**Pokemon with Guts and or Flash Fire**: Guts and Flash Fire users such as Machoke and Rapidash can abuse take advantage of Gourgeist-XL's use of Will-O-Wisp to potentially get a boost be powered up on the switch. However, Rapidash has to be careful about switching into a Foul Play and Machoke has trouble beating Gourgeist-XL without the Guts boost, especially if it gets hit by Leech Seed.

**Taunt, Substitute, and Encore**: These three moves can hinder Gourgeist-XL by stopping it from using its support moves, taking advantage of its non-damaging moves to get up a free Substitute, or locking it into an ineffective move. Common Pokemon such as Grumpig and Chatot can take advantage of Gourgeist-XL's reliance on non-attacking moves.

**Magic Guard**: Pokemon with Magic Guard such as Duosion and Clefairy can use Gourgeist-XL as a free opportunity to set up Calm Minds and Stealth Rock, (comma) respectively, (comma) because of their immunity to burn damage and high enough bulk to easily take any of Gourgeist-XL's offensive moves.
