Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fansGrass-type Pokemon, the ASBGrass-type Gym Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are ALMOST no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle. However, the spectators are impatient and want to see a match. If a trainer hesitates excessively during the battle (read: goes over DQ), they will swarm and attack.

Delibird is certainly a Pokémon you don't see often out of raids! Crucibelle seems to be is Mega of choice and Chandelure will probably be used as heavy artillery. The match begins as both Trainers bring their Mega to the field! After their respective transformation, Crucibelle is the first to commence hostilities by spewing(?) a barrage of rocks at Venusaur. Since the latter is rather slow, they strike for good damage! However, Venusaur isn't afraid of a damage race as it retaliates with a powerful Earthquake, hitting its foe in its weakest point! Unsteady because of the seismic waves, Crucibelle launches yet another barrage of rocks, smaller this time. Unfazed, the walking jungle decides to play the long game and sends crippling waves through the ground, slowing down the Rock-type Pokémon. Pushing its newfound speed advantage, Venusaur uses another Earthquake that deals great damage... only for Crucibelle to widen its smug grin as the energy it had gathered goes boom!
A terrifying explosion later, Crucibelle is completely down for the count but Venusaur isn't in very good shape either, even if it managed to tank the attack.
That was the wildest first round I ever witnessed! Keep up the fireworks guys!​

After his... deafening first round, Dogfish chooses Chandelure as his next Pokémon, who immediately tries to roast Venusaur as soon as it exits its Ball! However, taking advantage of its bulk and Thick Fat, Venusaur once again lowers its foe's Speed with Bulldoze, allowing him to move first next action and land a crucial Knock Off that will likely cripple Chandelure and help Emma in the long run.
Chandelure then finishes off Venusaur by smacking it around, nothing special.
However, the Gym Leader is now in position to counter his challenger! Which decision will he take?​

The Gym Leader is quick to send his Roserade to face off the ghostly lamp. Wary of its foe's firepower, Roserade begins to spray water around to weaken its Fire-type attacks. However, while doing so, it doesn't notice Chandelure coming close and stealing its belt! Angered by such sneaky tactics, Roserade fires off a Hidden Power that strikes an unsuspecting Chandelure, doing more damage in the process. Chandelure retaliates with a swarm of little otherwordly insects that mercilessly bite into Roserade. It might not hurt much, but the Pokémon will have its hands bouquets full with these relentless opponents! And here it is: the odd one out, Santa Poké, Delibird itself! Dogfish orders it to use its strongest attack, but Roserade immediately pelts it with seeds, constantly breaking its focus and rendering it unable to attack. Switching tactics, Delibird tries to fly away, however Roserade is once again quick to sent a white beam towards it, which proves devastating as almost one third of its health is instantly shaved off!
Delibird once again tries to use Sky Attack, but to no avail as Roserade once again blocks it.
Dogfish was careless this round and the cost was substantial. Perhaps ordering second migh allow him to salvage the match?​

The Gym Leader is forced into his last Pokémon, his battle-hardened Necturna! Dogfish smartly switched back to Chandelure to gain an advantage and starts the round by launching a Heat Wave at Necturna for good damage. Necturna doesn't retaliate and shoots strange beams at Chandelure, but it doesn't seem to hurt... What kind of plan is Emma coming up with?
The second round answers that question as a Flamethrower that should hurt the Grass-type Pokémon is absorbed without effort! Upon closer inspection, Necturna now has Flash Fire, which means it stole it from Chandelure last action! How smart! Necturna finally gets on the offensive with a Shadow Ball, then takes everyone's favorite candy out of... somewhere, and eats it in an blink.
Poor Chandelure didn't expect this development, and another Fire-type attack is shrugged off by Necturna, who severely weakens its foe with another Shadow Ball.
This round will likely prove crucial for the end-game as Chandelure is almost KO! However, any kind of damage it inflicts on Necturna will ease Delibird's cleaning job.​

Chandelure is giving it its all as it braces itself for the round, which allows it to stomach Necturna's first Ominous Wind! Then a second one! The lamp uses all but a drop of its energy to twist the dimensions, getting the "speed" advantage next action but more importantly giving it to its teammate Delibird. As a third Ominous Wind hits it, Chandelure finally retaliates with a Shadow Ball in order to weaken Necturna for Delibird to sweep later.
Dogfish managed to render EM's foresight ordering second useless as any attack will KO it, however Necturna may have a few tricks to prevent Delibird from revenge killing.​
