Welcome to Pwnemon's Nature Emporium!

...What, are you surprised that I'm leading you indoors? You say a Nature Emporium should be out in nature? You know I'm always in pursuit of the best: Nature wasn't natural enough for me, so I made an arena that was supernatural! No, wait, that word's been taken... HYPERNATURAL! Pwnemon's Hypernatural Emporium. I like it.

Anyway, what do we do in here? We stimulate the senses of grass-type Pokemon by rapidly cycling between all the common natural types of weather—sun, rain, and sandstorms (no, you're not the first person to point out that sandstorms aren't common, shut up and battle me). Such stimulation drives these Pokemon into overdrive, unleashing their full natural talent. Unfortunately, it also causes them to produce bucketloads of sap—even the ones not based on trees shut up—which is a bug that will be fixed at a later date but until then grants them all the ability Sticky Hold! So yeah, aside from the endangered animal pet store in the back of questionable legality, that's basically all we do here. Now let's battle!

Summary: (if youre really too lazy to read my minimal flavor smh)
  • Cycles between Rain, Sand, and Sun every round
  • Grass-types all have Sticky Hold
Relatively minor advantages for the leader compared to some Gyms, but Pwnemon has proven that he hardly needs them, and the fact that he orders second for the first round certainly doesn't hurt! Now then, here come the trainers! First up, we have the Leader! One of the more respected members of ASB, he's been around for a while and certainly knows his way around the block! Give it up for Pwnemon!

For a team that needs to have every Pokemon share a type, Pwnemon's team is remarkably well-balanced! Just another reason why Pwnemon has proven to be one of the harder-to-defeat Gym Leaders in ASB! No discussion of Pwnemon's team can be complete without a mention of Ambrose the Pyroak and for good reason; Pyroak is a powerhouse in ASB and Pwnemon's is one of the best there is. If the team matchup allows for his use Ambrose will certainly have a huge impact on this match! Now then, for his opponent, we have yet another ASB veteran, and a fellow Gym Leader to boot! One of ASB's most dedicated users, as the Fire Gym Leader he certainly has the Pokemon to fight the Grass Gym! Here he is, Frosty!

Frosty's status as the the Fire Gym Leader shows, as he's bringing two Fire types to the battle, but my eyes would actually be on Phytops the Dragalge; with 100/4/5 bulk and a typing that completely shuts down Grass, it's not going to be easy to take down! And those STAB Poison attacks will do a number to Pwnemon's team!

Now then, with the introductions out of the way, it's time to start! As per the rules, both trainers will tell the referee which Pokemon they're using to start out, then they'll send out simultaneously, to prevent any attempts at counter-teaming! Once the Pokemon are sent out, Frosty will order first, then Pwnemon will order and I'll make sure to bring you all the action! Now let's get going! Oh, but wait! Looks like some of that weird weather is kicking in! What's it going to be?

-> RNG roll for weather (1=Sun, 2=Rain, 3=Sand) -> 3 (Sand)
A sandstorm brewed!

Looks like our battlers will have to deal with a sandstorm to start this match! Will it change the strategy at all?

Battlers, send in your starting Pokemon!

"And we meet again! I sure wasn't expecting to redo this match, but hey, the heart desires what the heart desires and this should be a very interesting match regardless. Just don't disappear, ok? Time is not on the big list of things I am willing to lose here."

And here we go! The starting Pokemon have been chosen and the trainers are getting ready to send them out! First off, Pwnemon is picking out two of his Pokeballs. Who will he pick to lead this battle off? There goes the Pokeballs, and in a flash of light, it's Penny the Necturna and Pete the Cradily! Looks like Penny is holding Leftovers while Pete has an Expert Belt! Now it's Frosty's turn! His Pokeballs are in the air, and here they come! It's Stallord the Aerodactyl and Fyrus the Pyroak! Stallord is using Old Amber since Mega Evolutions are banned, and Fyrus seems to have a Charcoal! Some interesting choices here, Frosty seems to have a slight edge, but with Pwnemon ordering second who knows what will happen! For the sake of our audience, here is how the teams looks as things stand right now:

Necturna [Penny] (F) @ Leftovers

Def: Rank 4
SpA: Rank 4 (+)
SpD: Rank 5

Def: Rank 3
SpA: Rank 1 (-)
SpD: Rank 3
Spe: 150 (+26%)

SpA: Rank 3
SpD: Rank 3

Now with that out of the way, let's get this match started!

Frosty, you're up!

shoot I thought the 72h ended this afternoon...still just 10 minutes I guess...

Anyway...

Aerodactyl: Rock Slide - Rock Slide - Rock Slide
IF Soak AND Aerodactyl is faster than Necturna AND Aerodactyl isn't taunted AND Necturna isn't taunted THEN Taunt (Necturna)
IF Aerodactyl is Tormented AND is set to use Rock Slide AND Rock Slide was used by aerodactyl on the turn prior THEN Stealth Rock

Pyroak: Flare Blitz (Necturna) - Blaze Kick (Necturna) - Flare Blitz (Necturna)
IF Necturna is under successful P/E THEN Redirect towards Cradily
[ONLY ONCE]IF Pain Split AND A2 or A3 AND Pyroak is the target THEN Protect on the respective action

While there are many ways to inflict the proverbial first round pain here, at least Luck is some kind of barrier. Emphasis on kind of.

Also, I knew I should have bought a hard stone ._.. Eh there is always next time.

PS: If any of those subs are illegal for non-"lol I am stupid" reasons, I would like a reorder pls.

Pwnemon you really shouldn't take long like that when your opponent has nothing to lose for requesting DQ :/.

EDIT: Let me be clearer: DQ T-72h

Banned deucer.
you should have dqed me i guess lol... it beats dealing with aerodactyl

necturna: torment aerodactyl ~ snatch ~ pain split aerodactyl
if you flinch a1 then use horn leech aerodactyl a2

cradily: ancientpower pyroak ~ sludge bomb pyroak ~ rock slide
if necturna flinches a1 then use stealth rock a2

after this match, rock slide is not a flinching move in my gym

A sandstorm is raging

And here we go! Wasting no time, Stallord starts us off with his blinding Speed, launching a powerful Rock Slide at team Pwnemon! It's a neutral blow, but still a scary move with 30% chance to flinch each of its targets! Penny seems fine though, as she's immediately getting to work with a Torment on Stallord! Stallord is tormented now, which means he won't be able to spam Rock Slide nearly as much as Frosty would like! However, it looks like Penny is going to pay for that as Fyrus is charging right at her, wrapped in flames! It's a massive Flare Blitz! That had to hurt! It's super effective, and it looks like Penny is burned as well! This could be an issue for Pwnemon! Finally, Pete is also able to act despite the Rock Slide, and gets some measure of revenge on Fyrus for his attack on Penny, firing an Ancient Power at him! It's another super effective blow, but not quite as strong as that Flare Blitz, and Fyrus has plenty of HP to spare! Oh, but there's still that sandstorm, buffeting Penny and Fyrus while Pete and Stallord enjoy their boosted Special Defense.

Pwnemon seems to have a plan for this round, as Penny is using Snatch! He must know what Frosty is planning to use and is hoping to steal it for himself, as Penny waits for her opponent to make a move! Let's see what she gets! First there's Stallord who can't use Rock Slide because of that Torment, so he's looking to set up for the future with a Stealth Rock! Pointed stones are floating around Pwnemon's team now, and those will sting for anyone switching in later. A shame Penny can't Snatch that away! So maybe it's whatever Fyrus is doing that Pwnemon wants to Snatch? Nope! Kind of hard to Snatch a Blaze Kick to the face! It's super effective, and already Penny is definitely looking worse for wear! And now it seems that Snatch was a complete waste; maybe Pwnemon thought Penny could Snatch the Stealth Rock? Meanwhile, Pete fires a powerful Sludge Bomb at Fyrus, nailing him with another super effective attack! That will start adding up pretty quick, especially as the sandstorm buffets him and Penny yet again!

Stallord is going right back to the time tested strategy of fishing for flinches, firing off another Rock Slide at Pwnemon's side! Now Penny's situation is looking pretty grim, with Fyrus already preparing another attack for her, but she has a chance to launch one more move before Fyrus finishes her off? Can she avoid her fate? Oh no! Penny flinched! What awful timing for Pwnemon, and Fyrus takes advantage, nailing her with one final super effective Flare Blitz that knocks Penny out! Frosty draws first blood, and to add insult to injury Pete flinches as well! That round went pretty badly for Pwnemon, and now he has to order first to boot. But he didn't become a Gym Leader without overcoming some adversity along the way; this match is far from over! Let's see what he brings in, and if either side makes any switches!

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Just as I wanted. Great that Snatch doesn't work with Stealth Rock. Better than a flinch haha.

I don't. I would rather pump UC to get counters and use this slot to get closer to Victini. But I think Flamestrike doesn't get counters? I dunno if that is the case with forfeit.

well uh. If that is the case Flamestrike lemme know if you want me to ref anything for you in return <_<;.

Uh, well, okay then. I guess Frosty wins, congrats on the badge. I would get counters except it's been less than two rounds (forfeit rules are the same as DQ rules AFAIK), but that's fine.
