Candidates are encouraged to look over the Pokemon in the pool. If you notice any errors, please let us know.

Kitsunoh [M] [Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver]
Nature: Jolly
Type: Ghost / Steel

[Abilities]
Frisk (Passive): The Pokemon has intimate knowledge of the opponent's held item and ignores any item-based increases or decreases in damage, BAP and STAB from the opponent's item. This will not block the increase in BAP moves like Acrobatics and Knock Off that incur when an item is or isn't held. Item-Based increase in ranks (Such as from Rare Candy) are not negated by Frisk. The Pokemon will not be affected by Fling or Natural Gift.
Limber (Passive): This Pokemon's body is well trained and immune to paralysis. If the Pokemon with this Ability is Electric-type, this Pokemon's Speed cannot be lowered by any method, including self-inflicted reductions.
Cursed Body (Passive) [Hidden]: When this Pokemon is struck by an opponent's attack, there is a 30% chance that the attack will be disabled for six (6) actions. Only one of the opponent's attacks can be disabled at a time due to Cursed Body. A Pokemon with an attack disabled by Cursed Body cannot have another one disabled by Disable, and vice versa.

Metagross [-] [Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas]
Nature: Serious
Type: Steel / Psychic

[Abilities]
Clear Body (Passive): This Pokemon's body structure makes it immune to stat-lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
Light Metal (Passive) [Hidden]: The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Light Metal assumes the maximum possible hits from a multi-hit move for the purposes of priority (e.g. Double Kick gets priority as it reaches 6 BAP, Bullet Seed does not get priority as it reaches 15 BAP).
Tough Claws (Passive) [Mega]: This Pokemon has sharp claws that enhance the power of all of its contact attacks by two (2) BAP.

Banette [F] [Vraska the Unseen]
Nature: Quiet
Type: Ghost

[Abilities]
Insomnia (Passive): This Pokemon is immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage and energy/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker, it will wake up the next action. If a Pokemon with Insomnia also has Vital Spirit, its Attack and BRT are increased by one (1) Rank and its accuracy is raised by one (1) stage permanently.
Prankster (Passive) [Mega]: The Pokemon is always prepared for engaging in sneaky tactics and trickery, giving its non-damaging attacks a +1 increase in priority level.

Drapion [M] [Garruk, Apex Predator]
Nature: Adamant
Type: Poison / Dark

[Abilities]
Battle Armor (Passive): This Pokemon's thick armor prevents it from taking critical hits.
Sniper (Passive): This Pokemon has deadly accuracy and strikes sensitive points, increasing its critical hit bonus from +3 to +5 on single attacks, +2 to +3 on two-hit attacks, and +1 to +2 on multi-hit attacks.
Keen Eye (Passive) [Hidden]: This Pokemon has extremely good vision and cannot have its accuracy lowered by an opponent through any means (including accuracy lowering attacks, Smogs, Hazes, Fog, etc.). Its vision also enables it to see through any attempts by an opponent to increase their own evasion.

tommorow are the quals.

sorry geodude but an error is something you only allow twice. Let's see some activity before jumping to quals and stuff like that

Matchups:

Exclaimer vs JJayyFeather
Ref: ZhengTann

Gale Wing Srock vs JJayyFeather
Ref: Ooraloo

Gerard vs JJayyFeather
Ref: Toon

And Gerard just to be clear: If you show any glimpse of inactivity. Any shadow or vestige or anything that resembles inactivity, you will be rejected regardless of how well you play. See my statement on geodude for reasons. I hope I don't need to say why.

I'd say blame turnover in Gym Committee for this but honestly I was just a bit slack.

Step 1: see analysis of Psychic Qualifiers courtesy of JJayyFeather

Exclaimer
- Unfortunate you forfeited

Gale Wing Srock
- Elementary mistake in your D/E sub round 1, since the phrasing "act first by speed order" is now legal, and would have done exactly what you wanted.
- That Illusion play was horrible, no other way to put it. Illusion while ordering first is already not that good, and when you compound that with using main orders that the Illusioner doesn't know, you set yourself up for failure.
- You didn't even try to stop Drapion from devouring Aurumoth, even just adding in something like Will-o-Wisp really would have gone a long way.
- Gardevoir vs Drapion orders were very shaky. Especially that combo in your 2nd sub. Dig (Attack) > Dig (Suspend) > Dig (Attack) would've sent your EN down the drain immediately, but I liked my orders better.
- Again, didn't even really try to save Gardevoir from getting devoured by Kitsunoh. The proper move there would have been Nightmare + Hypnosis to land a sleep and not get nuked by a Kitsunoh that didn't even take a hit.
- The rest of the match from this point was just necessary procedure of a finished match.

Overall, you made a lot of errors, most of them being very general and possibly even basic, which led to you losing in a fashion such that one of my mons actually took 0 DMG.

Gerard
- First thought, ordering Shadow Ball twice in one round is a bad idea since M-Banette does have Cursed Body, even if it didn't come back to bite you at all.
- The Knock Off sub felt very unnecessary honestly, especially since D/E was still on the table and M-Banette has a plethora of ways to enable it, as seen by Trick Room
- The next round was played very well, seeing that I, of all people, forgot to sub for Encore, and you took advantage to burn and cripple my Drapion for trying to remove the Helmet. Well done.
- Good call switching to Mega Slowbro there, which completely should shut down Drapion.
- Phenomenal use of Wonder Room in the following round to thwart my plan to use Special Attacks.
- Abysmal error in trying to use Disable on a target you cannot hit.
- Good job once again abusing me with Encore, but I feel like playing to end the round on cooldown was not the ideal move there.
- You needed to have a "and you are asleep when you are to act" on your subs that revolved around you using Sleep Talk
- Should've checked your calcs a little closer on the final round.

Solid gameplay going around honestly. There were a few crucial errors you made during the battle, but you still managed to make the fight close. Just a few rust things that will come back with time.
We as a committee agree with this analysis of things and would like to hereby reaward the ASB Psychic Gym to Gerard.

Gerard is currently working on an arena with us and hopefully this should be open on the quicker side of things (at least for us). Please extend congratulations here, and thankyou to all other participants ant to jayy for examining.
