Introduction

Welcome to Home Field Advantage. In this single man tournament, you will be placed in divisions where you must defeat your opponents around the league and more importantly, in your division. To have a good season, you must be knowledgeable in three different tiers. The top 2 players from each division will progress to the playoffs, and the best player will be determined there.

General Rules

• You are required to play only 1 game per week. You are allowed, and it is recommended, that you play more games quicker so that the season runs smoother.
• You will receive your schedule at the beginning of the season which will include your opponent and who is the home player.
• The home player can choose from one of the following tiers to be played: BW OU, BW Ubers, BW UU.
• The home player may choose a different tier to be played, but both sides must agree. The away player cannot refuse to play one of the three main tiers listed above.
• The current Smogon banlists will apply to this tournament.
• NO JOHNING. If you don’t visit the forum daily, don’t join this tournament. I will be looking for many substitutes to replace inactive players.
• The battles must be played on Pokemon Online using the Smogon University server, unless both players agree to play on a different server.
• The first and only tiebreaker will be Head to Head matchup.
• If you are the home player, please let your opponent know what tier you plan to play ahead of time. This gives the away player time to find a team they want to use.

For those of you wondering, this is how playoffs are going to work:

Top 2 from each division, making 12 plyaers per conference. Each conference has it's own separate part of the playoffs, and the winner of each conference play at the end. The top 4 seeds from each conference (decided by record) will have a first round bye. The remaining 8 players will be seeded by record, and they will play in the first round. 5th seed will play the 12th seed, 6th vs 11th, etc. In the second round, the lowest remaining seed from the first round winners will play the 1st overall seed, the second lowest remaining will play the 2nd overall seed, third lowest will play 3rd overall, and highest remaining will play 4th overall seed. 8 players are left. In the next round, the same concept applies. The highest remaining seed will play the lowest remaining seed, and the two middle seeds play each other. At that point, it's the conference semifinals and it's same old after that.

The games will be best out of 3 in the playoffs. The home player will choose the tier for the 1st and 3rd game, while the away player chooses for the 2nd game.
