    The contestants find themselves in a cave with an eerie light, as well as strange runes on the sides. Their exit path has been blocked by a rockfall, so they are stuck. And it looks like I am stuck with them!

    The light is a blue glow, and something about it seems very much off...

    On that happy note, here is our first contestant, Glacier Knight!

    Bringing an Ice-type and a Water-type down here does not seem like the smartest of choices. Nevertheless, it is a formidable team.

    Here is our next contestant, Texas Cloverleaf!

    Here is Texas, my rival for Dragon Gym. I'll try not to kill him so I can have some competition by the time Round 3 gyms come around.

    Our next contestant is Yarnus of Bethany.

    Nature: Adamant (Attack increased by *; Special Attack reduced by *)
    Type: Normal
    Normal: Normal STAB; adapt comfortably to any surrounding after 3 actions. Able to use Outrage without losing focus.

    Abilities:
    Technician: Type: Innate This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.
    Pick Up: (Innate) This Pokemon has a natural habit of collecting items. Whenever a hold item (its own or an opponents) is used or knocked onto the ground with a move like Knock Off, this Pokemon will immediately pick up that item without using an action. It can also grab dropped or naturally occuring hold items in arenas.

    Skill Link: (Innate)(unlocked) This Pokemon’s skillfull aim makes its multi-hit moves always hit 5 times. The Energy Cost of multi-hit attacks is increased by three (3).

    The match has begun.

    Matezoide has sent out his Primeape, with a Rare Candy.

    Texas has sent out Emboar, with an EXP. Share.

    Glacier has sent out Mamoswine, with an Expert Belt.

    Yarnus has sent out Ambipom, with an Expert Belt.

    The source of the blue light decides to reveal itself:

    Note: Wild Pokemon are affected by multi-hit moves, and can be targeted. They yield KOC if KOed, and if you KO one, you get its item.

    Sometimes, wild Pokemon may morph after fainting. Most wild Pokemon have a lowered max HP and EN. Wild Pokemon can use any move from their movepool, but do not always attack.

    With the light from the Pokemon, some of the runes on the wall are illuminated. However, they are faded, so they make no sense to you.

    What do you do?

    Send two actions. An action may be to "look around", or "examine [area]", or it may be an attack. Unless a move must be used to execute an action (For example, light up the cave with Flash), no energy is expended.

    There are items lying around. You may also stumble upon other things.

    Note: All flavor and calcs are inside the hide tags:

    Action 1 (open)
    Matezoide begins by ordering his trusty Primeape to use a 15 HP Substitute, to take damage.

    -15 HP
    +15 HP Substitute
    -12 Energy

    Glacier then tells his Mamoswine to go examine some of the runes on the wall. Most of them are faded, but there are a few you can see:

    [IMG][IMG] ... [IMG]

    ... [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    It still makes no sense though. Something about a stone...

    Meanwhile, Emboar uses an Arm Thrust on Ambipom, who is not doing anything...
    Emboar used Arm Thrust (Ambipom)!
    #of hits: 5883/10000 (3)
    Crit (hit 1): [<=625] 9126/10000 (No)
    Crit (hit 2): [<=625] 1135/10000 (No)
    Crit (hit 3): [<=625] 1995/10000 (No)
    Calculation: (6+3+5*1.5-3*1.5)*1.5=18
    -3 Energy

    Ambipom then uses a Shadow Swipes combo on Litwick. Maybe that's why it never moved this round...
    Ambipom used Fury Swipes+Shadow Claw combo (Litwick 2)!
    Hit: [<=8000] 7862/10000 (Yes)
    #of hits: 3

    Crit (hit 5): [<=1250] 2125/10000 (No)

    Calculation: (24+2+5*1.5-2*1.5)*1.5=45.75
    -16.5 Energy
    Litwick fainted!

    Litwick and Lampent look pissed...

    From within the depths of the lava pool, the lava begins to bubble. Something is happening...
    Action 2 (open)
    Ambipom looks tired, so it just rests for a little bit.

    Matezoide orders Primeape to look around for stuff. Primeape searches around the cavern.

    A while later, Primeape returns to its trainer with a Fire Gem it picked up.

    Note about items: All items disappear after the battle, so use them now or never use them.

    Glacier Knight orders Mamoswine to go out and explore the cavern. Mamoswine looks around the walls, and there are five red rocks on the wall. They resemble Fire Gems, but you can't be too sure. In fact, there is a bit of heat radiating from them.

    It looks as if a powerful force will be needed to remove them, such as a Pokemon's attack.

    Emboar still wants to attack Yarnus, so it uses a Hammer Arm.
    Emboar used Hammer Arm (Ambipom)!
    Hit: [<=9000] 9019/10000 (No)
    -6 Energy

    Instead of hitting Ambipom, Emboar hit the ground. The impact shook the ground, acting as a mini-Earthquake.
    Ground shakes!
    Mamoswine takes: 5+5*1.5-2*1.5=9.5 Damage
    Ambipom takes: 5+5*1.5-3*1.5=8 Damage
    Primeape takes: 5+5*1.5-2*1.5=9.5 Damage
    Litwick 1 takes: (5+5*1.5-2*1.5)*1.5=14.25 Damage
    Lampent takes: (5+5*1.5-2*1.5)*1.5=14.25 Damage

    Litwick and Lampent are very pissed at Emboar, but they realize it is just hax that it misses, and so they let it go. On the other hand, Ambipom KOed their partner, so they let him have it...
    Litwick used Flamethrower (Ambipom)!
    Crit: [<=625] 3604/10000 (No)
    Burn: [<=1000] 3019/10000 (No)
    Calculation: 12+3+4*1.5-3*1.5=16.5
    -6 Energy

    Lampent used Flamethrower (Ambipom)!
    Crit: [<=625] 9859/10000 (No)
    Burn: [<=1000] 2265/10000 (No)
    Calculation: 12+3+4*1.5-3*1.5=16.5
    -6 Energy

    The round ends with Ambipom in very bad shape. Since one of the Litwick has been KOed, the cavern is now slightly dimmer. However, for some reason, the runes on the wall start to glow, though they are still illegible.

    There is something about a stone on there...

    Recap of round: Primeape finds Fire Gem, and sets up a 15 HP Substitute. Ambipom goes all out on one of the Litwicks, KOing it. Mamoswine explores around. The runes say something about a stone, and Mamoswine finds five Fire-Gem-like objects in the walls, which would need an attack to extract. However, there is something weird about the Fire Gems. Emboar hits Ambipom with Arm Thrust, but misses with Hammer Arm, causing a slight tremor. Instead of taking it out on Emboar, the wild mons decide to let Ambipom have it, so now Ambipom is in a very bad position.

    Things you can do:
    -Switch
    -Mine the Fire Gems using an attack.
    -Attack each other.
    -Attack the Litwick.
    -Keep looking around for stuff.

    Wow. This is why I should never ref late at night.

    Fixed all the issues. Also I forgot to factor in arena so Ambipom has 45 HP instead of 41.

    Action 1 (open)
    First, Yarnus, paranoid, orders Ambipom to erect a Protective wall.
    Ambipom used Protect!
    -6 Energy

    Matezoide then orders Primeape to look around for stuff. It comes back with something resembling a GameBoy with a Pokemon Blue cartridge in it (wtf?). Matezoide turns it on, but the screen is all glitchy. What the hell happened here?

    Glacier Knight then orders his Mamoswine to try to bury the lava with Mud Bomb. However, the lava proves to be too hot. The Mud goes into the lava, and taints the lava.

    Mamoswine used Mud Bomb!
    -5 Energy

    Meanwhile, Texas has Emboar mine the Fire Gems with Arm Thrust:
    # of hits: 5824/10000 (3)
    Gem (hit 1): 4/5 (4)
    Gem (hit 2): 4/4 (5)
    Gem (hit 1): 3/3 (3)
    -3 Energy

    Texas picks up the Fire Gems. However, one of them is very hot, and it burns all of his Pokemon, except Emboar! He puts it in his backpack, but it sets his backpack on fire! What the hell?

    On the wall, some of the runes start to unfade and glow. It's the bottom row...

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    You still have no idea what that means, but there appears to be an indentation on the wall. It's even about the size of the stone that burned your team and your backpack...

    Meanwhile, two Slugma spawn. Since the Mud Bomb tainted the lava, they are now Fire/Ground-type instead of Fire-type.

    First, Yarnus ordered his Ambipom to bounce up onto the ceiling. Ambipom hangs from a stalactite with its tail.
    Ambipom bounced up!

    Matezoide is about to shout an order to Primeape, when the GameBoy explodes in his hand!
    GameBoy explodes!
    -5 HP for Primeape
    Primeape's Substitute faded!

    Suddenly, something appears where the GameBoy was...
    [IMG]
    Missingno.
    HP: 50
    EN: Infinite
    Other: Allied with Matezoide
    Item: none
    Stats: 5/1/1/1/29
    Typing: Typeless (No type effectiveness)

    Note about Missingno.: Missingno. has Smeargle's movepool. Basically, it can use anything. It is not resist anything, but is not weak to anything. Missingno. will not attack unless attacked. Because Matezoide is the one that summoned it, it will not attack him at all. Missingno. has 99 SC and 0 WC. Every action that it has not been attacked, it has a 50% chance to Bodyblock Matezoide.

    Along with Missingno., Matezoide gets an extra 128 Fire Gems. Too bad he can only use one at a time...

    Mamoswine then tries to use its tusks to mine the Fire Gems, and they fall loose. The attack costed 5 Energy.

    Emboar tries to Hammer Arm Ambipom, but it can't reach the ceiling!
    Emboar used Hammer Arm (Ambipom)!
    miss
    -6 Energy

    Ambipom then comes down, right on top of Emboar!
    Ambipom used Bounce (Emboar)!
    Hit: [<=9500] 6107/10000 (Yes)
    Crit: [<=625] 8947/10000 (No)
    Para: [<=3000] 1561/10000 (Yes)
    Calculation: (8+5*1.5-3*1.5)*1.5=16.5
    -10 Energy

    The Slugma are very docile, but who knows what could enrage them?
    END OF ROUND

    Things to do:
    -Attack/Switch
    -Kill the wild mons.
    -Mine the remaining 2 Fire Gems (require attack)
    -Texas can go to the runes with the Magma Stone.

Because Matezoide is the one that summoned it, it will not attack him at all. Missingno. has 99 SC and 0 WC. Every action that it has not been attacked, it has a 50% chance to Bodyblock Matezoide.

    I love how you deny my actions in a strictly flavor match. Pretty sure if I'm ramming tusks into rock it's an attack

    It's not like I was doing something completely impractical, like freezing the lava or flying.

    "-Mine the Fire Gems using an attack."

    Yeah, you must pay attention.

    That was an attack. Tusks ramming into rock, that seems like an attack. What was it? A hug? Support move?

    OK fine, maybe I should have been more specific. *grumble grumble*

    I'll give you the gems and subtract 5 Energy.

    Texas: "I wanna go TLR!"
    Glacier: "I'm bored..."

    AOPSUser: "OK fine, I'll teleport you guys out."

    *pokes Yarnus*

    *no response*

    *throws Yarnus into lava*

    AOPSUser: "OK, it's just us Matezoide!"

    Matezoide: "Yay! I win!"

    In the back of the cavern, the wall splits apart, revealing Heatran. It looks PISSED.

    [IMG]

    Heatran: "WHO STOLE MY MAGMA STONE?"

    AOPSUser+Matezoide: "IT WAS TEXAS"

    Heatran runs out of the chamber, cursing Texas. Along its way, it unblocks the rockfall.

    As AOPSUser and Matezoide leave, all items disappear.

    THE MELEE HAS BEEN CANCELED.

    Two people do not make for a very fun melee.

    Just saying.

    If you wanna continue THAT BADLY, then I suppose...
