Sup niggis,,, its a yun based ass nigga out here trynn flex 4 my fam in IDM,,, seeing as the xy metagame as we know is coming to an end due to approaching release dates of ruby n sapphire, imma post all the metagame shifting teams iv created since the inception of the metgame (updated w the most up to date bans). xy is pretty aids and is a hugely matchup based meta (see wcop finals) so im not worried about niggas usin these teams against me; actually this will prolly make frontier more interesting. also iv taken the time to cut the bullshit n get str8 to the teams pb's since theres quite a few (pickd out the similar ones n shitty ones) the format will be images, short description, and import.

Team 1 - Standard Stall


This was my first finalized stall team and popularized the venu tran water + clef stall core. This stall dominated the late luke era thru the gene era and even til later on after the ban. i only had problems w deod + maybe sharp, while zard y was another huge hole opener alongside mega gyara. Back then i needed unaware more due to shit like dnite and other setup mon like chomp and terak, but mostly cuz of manaphy and thund. It outshines chansey in the sense that it has greater typing and setup potential, but later on i eventually replaced dos/clef core for skarm/cm clef and finally skarm/chans with max def hp fire venu and spdef taunt roost gliscor for lando

I had had a huge fascination with tr since bw2 because of how fun and play-heavy the style is. loved cofag, the ghost buff made it even deadlier and even bypasses suckers with willow. cress pory core provides me with defenses to set up tr, while the 3 mon offensive core shits on lives. seeing as dark is the best offensive typing besides maybe fairy, iv decided to take ful advantage of those 2. krook also provides me w a much needed dark/ghost slash counter for sharp n aegi. oh it also gets rocks. i also had a spextran variant w kanga, and a newer more fun variant w exploud that i used vs dice, but i feel like this version from the beginning of xy has been the best out of all my tr teams. also my nigga krook fuckin sweeps niggas hands down. mox mox

Yes a yun nigga invented fuckin birdspam in dis bitch and this is the first widely used squad of mine besides generic stall that was leaked out. Always wanted to use talon + pins and some rotom lures, ttar killers, and a thund check. this team also popularized raikou because spexkou was proven to be viable in ou as a thund check n pivot. used to have a lo manaphy to stallbreak and a hp ground sash lead gene to lure n kill shit, but terrak + ninja suit the offensive post gene meta quite well.

Replaced band gene w sharp, but i think this team popularized helmet deos which i always use over deod. with deos, u force rage on chomp cuz eq doesnt 2hko so u dont have to lose 2 mons to get rocks like deod teams. it also gets resid on a buncha shit as u have seen in alexanders game vs dice it tankd loom n shit and broke sash. the thund was originally bulk up physical w defiant to fill the roll of sharp, but i felt like i needed some stops to setup and fast mons. the bulk up set is still fun as fuck tho, its my fave set, sometimes i run mix thund over this one. since this was pre exca sand era its reasonable that it should be sand weak.

Very cool/fun and gay team that i never got to use much. i usually bring ths 4 fun vs friends, and its a mod of my old quiverpass from bw. coba allows me to live banded bird w/o reflect and tank 2 non band birds under reflect, and w the abundance of special attackers in xy its rlly not yhat hard to get some quivers tank bird and pass into like land, thund or aeg and shit in niggas' mouths. aegi is here not only for its sweeping potential but mostly its typing to resist most all priority.

This teamis the 2nd one that kinda blew up abit during spl and the tours thereafter. Also made w cbb and it was a rlly solid squadron vs most all teams. This squad also saw the rise of sr lando and fblast lando cuz i had 0 idea why everyone ran psy wave when that coverage was shit,,, i always ran fblast. sand + keld is gr8 v stall esp w uturn talon, tar sweeps niggas easily and the aegi lati core takes on a slew of threats.

High impulse went like 5-1 or 6-2 in spl cuz he used my teams in all the games he won (well choked n got haxd v cbb but bop) and this team got him a pretty clutch win vs blunder's gr8astard squad. always thot dragspam was viable as long as u have enuf steels to fuck up fairies. LO aeg kills every balanced core in the meta so zard n nite can tear ass, also most teams have 1 scarfer or a thund to check setup mons so 1 of them will exhaust the thund to open up a sweep for the other.

Team 9 - Metagame Shift: Sand Era


This was one of my most influential teams cuz it singlehandedly brought about the sand era which shaped up most of what the xy meta is now. I had experimented w sand exca on a prvious team w the idea of smooth rocks tar + exca + regular gyara (was g8tr til i realized no sheer force) nite and megazard to just overrun niggas with physical damage. However I never got around to fixin that team's problems so i went with a more balanced approach in this team i made for edgar in the spl. after he destroyed harsha with the lo exca in sand alot of ppl hopped on this jock.

Team 13 - Wrath of Sand


This is the peak of sand offense as this team rlly shifted the meta towards a sand - ho oriented metagame. sometimes i use smooth rock on tar, but i like sash for i dont give a fuck about other leads and get up rocks cuz i fuckin can. The azu was later replaced by vest iirc after hugo popularized that set (it became everywhere mid late ost) and i guess tar went smooth rock. another variant has gyara > zard and lati > nite but its not as satisfying as this shit which just goes in sets up n clicks rage

ok memph n bolts i just took both ur ideas n made some cm spam. it looks cool, 3 heatran killers + 2 cm users. i think maw can be a problem but 2 helmet users p much kills most physical mons that threaten the cm core in 2 -3 hits (sharp, maw, azu etc) eq lati is actually a great idea cuz it dents tran and damages tar. too bad i couldnt fit a mega as i like helm chomp more than mega chomp, but mega chomp can also be used. as for rosen yea goth zard beats all stall plus my zard counter is arcanine not clef :{|} its actually not bad vs zardgoth as long as i dont get trickd. Also bolts the original birdspam started out w sd liechi nat gift talon but rotom is uncommon and quag is manageable so it's p ass

A good post is the one by Rosenfeldius, in which he outlines why he wants the core he wants and is all around well formatted, although formatting is an extra. This thread has potential as a tool for less experienced builders to become better with the help of a renowned builder, so lets try not to fuck it up.

iite so i made the gardscor team. see the problem w a spdef mon like gard + a spdef scor is that dd mons rek that shit, so i needed a physical wall. most of those r grounds so the next best is skarm. tran has gr8 synergy w the 2 not only because both physical and special ground moves r absorbed by skarm/scor, the gard skarm scor core kinda handles all 3 ou waters. throw on a lati for keld/zardy and general purposes (tried to use goodra but vestdra is ass sry joey i never liekd it) keld cuz i needed a dark resist and water typing is too good to give up on a team, skarm for tar which gives the team problems. dont rlly see a huge weakness besides rain at the moment, oh yea and lo heavy fighters w good coverage like lo rak, hera, and cham
ill explain why ferro and mola are foregone, first ferro is fine as the tran replacement steel but that makes me more susceptible to zard but does alleviate the need for skarm since gyara/tar r decently checked. mola has never been my fave since it liiterally does jack shit and isnt even that bulky. any sub mon just takes advantage of that shit and since it's forced to run spdef that takes away another slot for a physical wall.

anyways onto the cm clef cune team. iv had a stallbreaker stall team w that core but since u wanted offense ill run u thru the thought process
first look at the duos defensive synergy. they have pretty good resist synergy, only offensive venu and setup or lo thund rlly breaks thru them. offensively, once they set up only water absorb users, chans, and tran rlly wall the 2. lookin at their checks and counters, thund is pretty frail and easier to handle offensively, for example making it take birds repeatedly weakens/kills it. talon also switches into poison/grass moves, so theres one mon. now a thund switchin, and maybe something that tanks general heavy hitters like land and zardy that can hit these 2 pre setup - lati it is. now an obligatory ground, we have no exca switchin so its btwn scor and lant but lant is better w rocks so there he goes. now we might need a dark resist/ghost resist, and a general physical heavy hitter/setup and a mega slot all in one. tar fits the profile. here it is
i think this shit looks pretty good, and idk if u meant balanced offense or like HO w 2 random fatties so i went w the optimal build.

Looks like my post got deleted. I am asking for a volcarona +dugtrio core. Now this was a very famous core in bw. volc's counter is tran. Dug traps tran and therefore freeing volcarona for a sweep. Dugtrio can also trap a weakened Chaney so volc can have a easier time.

as for the raikou pins team u can refer to birdspam,,,, i tried cm raik at first but its the biggest momentum killer aka ass,,,, if u want more specific teammates plz elaborate

zam + a balanced core seems interesting, ill hit u up w a building process. zam + skarm cool, since zam fulfills 0 defensive roles and skarm 0 offensive its not rlly a core, so its p much freestyle from here. offensively (assuming aegi leaves) only i guess clef zor chans mandi , mew, and at a stretch scor, lati, azu, ferro, goodra, zapdos switch into it. most of these r shaky checks and zor is like the only common steel that comes in. out of the bunch only zor, scor and azu r checked by skarm, so we need some shit to kill all these spdef mons or at least switch into em. im thinkin of clef + skarm as a defensive core and some shit w good offensive synergy alongside zam. mew is annoying to deal w but sub rak sets up all over it and sd rak in general destory stall and spdef walls that zam hates, while dpulse ninja also shits on psychics in general and weaken semi spdef walls like azu goodra etc. last mon should be a revenger and/or somethin to switch into zard so i chose scrf lant over scrfchomp
i like protect on zam cuz it gets my speed immediately, since im weak to keld already.

Basically I wanted to test the offensive core of Healing Wish Lati + Sash Diggersby + TauntMegados as a way to fuck stall in the ass and weaken counters for a lategame MegaDos sweep. It needs hazard control so I originally added Exca + Bandtar core to weaken Lando-T and beat Thund-I and CMClef to stomp Stall even harder but the team lacks hazards, so no punishing switches, and gets stomped by faster threats when out of sand, not to mention issues against enemy sand.



Work your magic CTC, just maintain the original core, I would prefer to avoid sand but add it if you must.

The only actual target of it is Aegislash and since Mega Heracross is my main sweeper I wanted Swords Dance to use it to its fullest potential. Bisharp can trap Aegislash anyways, but im banking on it getting banned Also i have 252 speed evs to outspeed base 120s by one point exactly

Definitely the best sticky web setter (explanation below). I chose. Infestation over Knock Off and Toxic due to encore and a trapping move but im not set in stone on this decision. I went for a defensive spread but im thinking anout a specially defensive one just so i can survive two Greninja Hydro Pumps in order to set up both my hazards.

The idea behind this is to use sticky web abuse Mega Heracross's incredible power and coverage. Bisharp and Heracross have amazing synergy with each other which is why Bisharp was added to the core. They both cover each others weakness well (besides fire) as Heracross resists fighting and ground while Bisharp resists psychic and flying. Bisharp also discourages the use of defog which makes it far more likely that I can keep sticky web on the field and on top of that it pursuit traps the Lati@s and Gengar who are immune to sticky web and give Heracross trouble. Shuckle provides both Sticky Web and Stealth Rock for the team which is vital to the Bisharp-Heracross core's success. Shuckle also has a built in focus sash and due to encore and infestation it isnt set up bait, which is why i chose it over Smeargle.

Im just going to throw around some options of teams i built around this core that ive used before that did well. Weavile and Mamoswine are useful due to a priority ice shard that hurts flying types that are immune to sticky web. weavile also provides the much needed speed outside of sticky web. However, both of these mons stack weaknesses with other members and struggle to switch in. Also ive had succes with voltturn spam to get Mega Heracross in safely. Just some food for thought...

as for the gyara team, usually mons like azu, keld and venu like to switch into gyara, so i thought a zor may be good to switch into azu and weaken keld w knock/bp since keld is a natural zor switchin and spdef zor is only rlly stopped by tran skarm quag etc all fodders of gyara. the rest of the team kinda just came together cuz standard etc

Thanks CTC fr doing all this its really cool of you, but anyway I was thinking in a way that may be bad, but my idea was to make a core of pokes that individually mess up certain teams. So for example my last HO team I made got 6-0d by mamoswine, my last stall team got 6-0d by lando-i, and my last balance team got 6-0d by TG manaphy. So I thought if you threw these three together and gave them some team support to help problem pokes that may exist on each archetype of team, it would be really effective.

I think this guy is actually due to make a comeback in OU, I mean I know balance isnt that great at the moment but I think it might be coming back as well which means manaphy will be better.


I am not sure what to say in the thread really to make it appropiate, because I feel like anything I say you already know. But anyway I really just want to see a cool team with these 3, all the sets are interchangeable except maybe the lando-i one, but anything you can come up with would be cool. Or at least let me know what you think of the type of core I was going for, I think it could be hit or miss.

yea i dont think the 3 work the best together but the more synergetic of the 3 aka lando+mana can work fine esp handily dismantling balance. imo knock land is better but u can use cm if u want. since land+mana stallbreak efficiently the maw can be used as an all purpose breaker/revenger vs most shit on offense/balance. thund is helpless vs balance and stall so its tossed on to take advantage. fire lati kills ferro for mana and makes sure bisharp doesnt cum 4 free. imo this mana spread has enuf speed and u get more bulk but i like modest too. max max can be used if u want

Ive made a few teams around the Greninja / Mawile / Dragonite core for a while, all with varying success. A few work pretty well, while others just fall apart. Was wondering what the best way to approach this core is:

I dont really know what it is, but whenever I try to make a team with these three, the other three member dont really seem to synergize that well with them. It always seems like its just two mini teams mashed together. Dont care if its standard af, but a little help would be appreciated.

going to request a mon that hasn't had much love but I think has potential in this meta. Can you make a team with nasty plot togekiss? I've made a few teams with it but it has only been paired with mega manectric and/or heatran on offense but I haven't been able to break that mold :[. Reason as to why i think its viable is that it can check a variety of things including breloom, bisharp, conk, venu, some dragons, and royally fks over stall o.o.

It's a really vague request, but I haven't really seen any good semi-stall teams. Don't care what you use, but it'd be cool to see how you build around the archetype.
 
kay i am gonna request a team too cuz i suck at teambuilding.
Please build me a team around bulky dd Charizard-x but without defog support. Rather i would like to use tyranitar+exca for anti hazard mwasures. I know that this core has severe type weakness issues but with zard and exca, it can cover both HO and Stall (not fully but zard can at least pressurize it well).
