You are playing PMD: Explorers of Sky, and you are in Mt.Mistral for an escort mission which reward is a Sun Ribbon. It is all right, then, suddenly, a Drifblim pops out of nowhere and spams Ominous Wind. You get the picture.
Are there in your opinion things like this which infuriates you and make you want to trash your game right now?

Just PMD Escort missions in general, especially in the originals. The client is level 1 but insists on fighting everything.

Sky Tower in the original. Those fucking Aerodactyls just destroy you. Wing Attack deals way too much damage, and they have Supersonic AND Agility just to make everything even worse.

Dying in PMD: Gates to Infinity from not being able to heal yourself when the weather isn't clear. It's happened to me twice...it's just brutal... :p

the worst is the endgame dungeons in gates to infinity where the enemies get teamskills that let them become randomly immune to attacks and can sometimes dodge attacks 3-4 times in a row

nothing else comes close to that

Another moment that I find particularly infuriating is that mission in Pokemon Ranger where you have to escort a scientist through Olive Jungle. The catch? He's scared of Bug-types and if you even touch one... you have to start over. Combine that with Ariados that charge at you and move really fast... it's a wonder I ever got past it.

When I was younger, I received Pokemon Ranger for the Nintendo DS as a Christmas gift. I wasn't really thinking about playing it, but after a while I decided to give Pokemon Ranger a go. Pokemon Ranger has been one of my favorite Pokemon spin-offs of all time, it had a great story and a new refreshing style of play that I've enjoyed as well. In terms of difficulty the game was relatively easy. However, the last boss Gordor, leader of Team Go-Rock Squad was very infuriating. Gordor had gotten control of the Legendary Beasts-Raikou, Suicune, and Entei. The goal was to capture all three Legendary Beasts to free them. The most infuriating part about all of this is the legendary beasts were able to break your stylus in a matter of seconds.
Raikou would run around spawning lightning bolts everywhere you were going to capture it. Raikou moved in very sporadic movements so you could never really predict its movements. This was frustrating since you had to battle all 3 legendaries one after the other, without your Capture Charger not at 100% usually near 70% or so.

Suicune came next into the fold, Suicune also was just as irritating if not even more irritating. Suicune would spawn clones, shoot aurora beams, and like Raikou would move very sporadically while also disappearing. It was infuriating because the clones that Suicune spawned could damage your stylus, if you accidently attempted to capture a Suicune-Clone, it would backfire badly as the real Suicune would shoot an Aurora Beam right at your capture loop. I think one of the most annoying moments in battling a Suicune is the fact that Minum's ability wasn't as effecitve as it normally is(even on a water-type). I was close to capturing it while it was shocked but it would disappear quickly and multiply afterwords, repeating the process over and over.

The final boss, Entei, was the most infuriating part of the game. I had to re-battle Gordor repeatedly, because everytime I beat Raikou and Suicune I would get absolutely destroyed by Entei. Entei's attacks caused flame to border around the screen. This became very problematic as the space that wasn't engulfed in flame was where Entei ran around. Entei, not only broke the capture loop, but also dealt more damage on the Capture Charger than Raikou and Suicune. Entei was always impossible to capture and having to restart and go through the entire battle with Gordor and the Legendary Beasts became very irritating. This was a very annoying battle and one of the most infuriating moments I've experienced in a Pokemon spin-off.

I agree, and remember this as well, I remember Bug-types would drop on you as well causing the scientist to leave, this was annoying as well. I eventually managed to finish this with just practice and repeated attempts. Another infuriating moment was playing the bonus missions in Pokemon Ranger. The most aggravating was finding Mew. Mew would hide phase through Olive Jungles borders. I had to back track so many times just to get near it because it could fly through the walls(borders) of the Jungle. Capturing Mew was one of the worst parts of the mission. Everytime I got to capture it, I always managed to mess up and Mew would repeatedly flee battles extremely quick. I think Mew is even worse to capture then even the Legendary Beasts. It was an absolute nightmare as a child.

Monster Houses are teh suck... Especially if the tile you happen to step on upon entering said Monster House just happens to be a sleep trap tile, putting you to sleep and helpless while all the Pokemon in the House get to rail on you before you can even do anything about it.

Next would probably be the no healing while the weather isn't clear. When it's hailing or a sandstorm, I can understand. But when it's really sunny or raining?

You know that pokemon card game for Gameboy that was only released in Japan, Here Comes Team GR? I emulated it and got a translation to play through it. The starting deck is bad against the first story battle you have to fight but after that you can get through with some strategy and build a few more decks. That is until the game can't simulate intelligent players and makes you play by specific rules. "I'm sorry, your deck doesn't have enough Pikachus in it, I wont play you and continue to stand in your way." Fuck that. Imagine if an important trainer or gym leader wouldn't fight you unless you had 2 Digletts on your team or 4 pokemon knew Cut, you would throw the cartridge out the window.

I actually never beat explorers of Time thanks to me encountering monster houses on 5 consecutive runs in the final dungeon. I sorta developed a phobia for the game at that point, which is a pity because the game has fun characters, music and even a brilliant storyline! (Hey, I was 14 when I played it, so idk what I'll think of it now)

Monster houses aren't too bad if you are adventuring by yourself. If you back up into the hallway you entered from, only one of them can get to you at a time, allowing you to crush them.

My pet peeve is how GTI allows you to adventure onward if either of the other two faint, but if your partner faints, you have to go back. How does that work?

If Colosseum counts as a spinoff l, then this:
Final battle against Evice. You've got whatever out. He's got a Slaking and Slowking out. Then Slowking does Skill Swap.
Now, the only thing that held back the monster that is Slaking before was Truant. He doesn't have that handicap anymore. Have fun with Earthquake all day, every day.
Did I forget to mention that you, due to limited options in the game, have some weird motley crew. And some of Evice's Pokemon are still considered amazing today. You gotta take down OUs with UU and NUs.
Every boss in this game is hard. All of them.

Drifblim. By God, how I hate that stupid thing in Time/Sky. It's true that there are more things that use room moves like Venomoth, Xatu, Porygon-Z and etc, but damn Unburden hits twice, and ALWAYS gets the boost. It spams again and again and again it makes me want to break my DS.

But my rage of Drifblim is nothing compared to PP Delete trap. That thing is prove that there is a sadistical being developing games for Chunsoft. I remember when on 5th floor of Buried Relic on a Mew hunting while playing Blue Rescue. I came across four PP delete traps almost in a row (didn't have the trap and the walk anywhere IQ yet). No problem, I had a Max Elixir, but then... a Sticky trap... I stopped playing and hasn't touched my game since, and iirc it's been two years.

PMD EoS, that dungeon where you see the Arceus statue. I was on floor 98. I found the stairs. And suddenly, a Monster House appeared. It happened 3 years ago, and today, I still wonder how the fuck I survived.

    Pokemon Colosseum.
    Dakim boss.
He has Shadow Entei (who you want to catch very much) and Camerupt out.
Entei has been weakened for capture.
    Camerupt uses Earthquake.
Those kajillion Ultra Balls you threw now mean nothing because there is no Entei left to catch.
Hope you have a spare controller, because your current one is probably not going to survive your subsequent rage accompanied by a few choice words.

Darkrai in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.I had killed all of his minions, and my starter was a Riolu so I knew I could beat him.But then,he starts to spam double team and kills Cresselia. Finally, after a long time I get a hit on him,but only after getting annoyed to death.

Some of those rules were just cruel. 4 of a certain Pokemon was annoying for sure, especially if it was something dumb like Pidgey (possible in one of the later battles), but I believe the Psychic leader had a rule where you couldn't retrieve energy out of the discard pile. And her deck had 4 Energy Removal and 4 Super Energy Removal. It was absolutely ridiculous to try to keep up with that deck, because any hope of running a deck that flows basically flew right out the window.

Mystery Dungeon was really fun; still stuck with Red Rescue Team and Explorers of Darkness. I dunno about you guys, but I feel that the Mystery Dungeon series has better writers than the main series of Pokémon. Anyway, I had similar issues with the post-game 100 Floor dungeons. Never before has Beautifly been so terrifying, and Monster Houses are annoying as well. I think the most infuriating time I had in a dungeon was in one of the Isles where your level was reset. I made it almost to the final floor when I entered the Kecleon shop. It looked like the stairs were at the next room over since I uncovered most of the floor anyway, so I decided to rob the guy. I ran down this long hallway with the Kecleon horde hauling ass behind my team. I paralyzed the first one so the rest would be slowed down temporarily. Made it to the next room and there were the stairs. The only problem being that they were guarded by a Monster House full of Pokémon that can spam Silver and Ominous Wind. I shut of my old DS and never picked it up since.

In any PMD game, those boss fights where you are clearly outnumbered. (Manectric and Elektrike pack, Dusknoir and Sabeleye, Darkrai and friends, etc)
