I've been afraid to cancel my participation so I can get my battle box pokemon back. Is it safe to do that or should I wait until after the 1st?

I went on after it was over and it automatically unregistered me.

3 more days until the overall postings appear, hopefully they give out trophy avatars to those that deservedly did well enough, especially my 1912 rating after 86 counted battles.

Do you think they'll have avatars for last place too?

It should be unlocked now. After the tournament ended, the game should have told you that your Battle Box was unregistered.

I was about to comment that my game still thinks that the competition was still going on but then I clicked Battle on the competition screen (knowing it would tell me the tourney was over) and it fixed itself and unlocked my battle box.

My "fun" team based on The Phantom of the Opera is faring decently well despite their Mixed UU inferiority and lack of synergy.
Taking a break to go to work, then coming back to fight some more! (Currently at 1747)

woo. i got one battle against someone from smogon. this was my black cart.
as expected, i got my ass kicked since my teams kinda sucked in both carts (not practicing + lack of items + splitting my pokes between both carts)

here's some battles i got:

55-41110-55446
48-94546-24948
44-30009-56726
36-03894-61400
72-95417-82953

Well the site is back up (the maintenance is over). Still no sign of the ratings. Though I went to the GBU page and clicked on 'Details' and they listed my last 6 battles of the competition (though I doubt it means anything).

[09:44] Firestorm 5:00 p.m. UTC, Tuesday, November 1 (Announcement time subject to change)
[09:45] Firestorm Currently it's 1:45PM

I know it seems logical to have the rankings after maintenance as hopefully we shall see them in approximately 1.5 hours from now.

Well, so far no update and it's well pass 17:00. But I just noticed that my overall rating updated from 1400 something to 2964 which I find a bit strange....

The 10076 should be the number of people after removing D/Cers, and probably people who didn't battle at all.

However, there's no way of knowing how many there were who initially signed up.

I got DQed too which amuses me a little since so many of the top group are known DCers and I didn't intentionally DC at all(though if they do have reasonably decent detection on who caused DCs some of my pre-turn 1 DCs are probably my fault since my Wi-Fi is weak in my room, was searching for games here and wandering closer to the router as games actually started). I was sporting right about a 40% enemy DC rate so I'd more expect that they do not have a DC detection system that actually works, however.

Glad I didn't bother with this after the first 24 hours or so, nice to get everyone playing but poorly executed event that characterizes much of what is horrible about trying to use the internet in a game on a Nintendo system. It is pretty amusing how junior varsity the DC detection is in this game, so many other games have been executing ladders competently for like a decade now, it's not like this technology is difficult to execute or rare, yet one of the best selling franchises in the industry runs an event that would have been pathetic in 2006. I imagine a lot of the people we know DCed who didn't get DQed for whatever reason probably wouldn't have been doing it so much of it if they knew they wouldn't get away with it, but since we're getting even more hilarious evidence that there isn't a reasonably executed check there wasn't much incentive for them to play fair, obviously.

Surprising amount of DQes from other high ranking players we know were getting DCed on but were taking their losses now that I discuss the results more with people. Really, really poorly executed.

I'm ranked #4 in the world barring Japan and Korea. I'm proud of myself.

Ruben is #1, congrats, repping top 5! :D

Good job to everyone else that competed and I'm surprised I didn't see BZ? (Cybertron) in the the top 10 :/

Good job nonetheless to everyone who competed!

Wow, I'm rating 243. That's not bad actually for someone who just jumped into doubles gen v competitive battling. Though I bet it would be a bit higher if it weren't for those D/Cs.
