Ahh, what a sight to behold. I'm feeling sick today and can't continue rating teams at this time. As such, this phase will be extended until February 1, 2016, 8 am EST.

Apologies for any inconveniences caused.

Creativity: MetaTres by far. ngl was pretty disappointed by the general lack of creativity this round, especially since the dish was so broad.

Use of Ingredient: Nightingales with the P2 Magic Coat, actually a really nice touch, although i barfed in my mouth a bit when i read "Crobat @ Choice Scarf"

Effectiveness: I'm gonna go with Kreme because that 4 attacks MAero + special Luke core is really nice, not a lot that doesn't break. also i'll die before copying merl

3, 2, 1... TIME'S UP!

Announcing to you the Special Awardees for this episode!

Most Awe-Inspiring Dish: MetaTres
Most Essential Dish: Nightingales
Best-Tasting Dish: Manipulative

What a low turn-out of votes despite giving a one-day extension; and the wall spam isn't enough to attract viewers. Guys, help me to make this appealing so that they are willing to vote, please? (As such, it's quite pointless to extend again).

Anyway, the results will be released on Tuesday, February 2, 7:00 AM EST, and two hours after that will be the exposition of the next secret ingredient.

Apologies for keeping the suspense long, but now is the time to present the winner of the seventh episode of Iron Chef, no other than...

Chef Nightingales!

Chef Nightingales is one of the challengers that defeated an Iron Chef during the episode. After so many episodes of Iron Chef running since the first season, she finally made it, outdoing fellow challenger Incognito Style with a small margin!
. . . . . . .

Here are the scores and the consolidated comments from our beloved Iron Chefs!

Nightingales: 14.5 + 2 = 16.5
CREATIVITY: 3 / 5
Scarf Crobat, Magic Coat Porygon2, and the more underrated Virizion warrants this team a decent score in this criterion. (Side note: I just found out that your team has two Defoggers there's no Shedinja or any Pokemon other than those Flying Pokemon to benefit from clearing hazards away.)

USE OF INGREDIENT: 4 / 5
That moment when people thought they're on a verge of a sweep until Scarf Crobat ended it--that's a cheap shot in spirit. While you minimally used the requirements for the secret ingredient, you made use of Magic Coat Porygon2 to bounce any status move aimed at your team, and Vacuum Wave Infernape to take care of some threats (though it's not enough with only Vacuum Wave being your priority attack).

EFFECTIVENESS: 7.5 / 10
Does your team literally have anything to deal with defensive Calm Mind Reuniclus with Psyshock and Focus Blast? That one would be a huge nuisance to the team, especially that your team doesn't have any Psychic resistances; Scarf Crobat could be replaced with Mandibuzz to remedy that situation. Nonetheless, the team is very solid that people shouldn't underestimate.

Incognito Style: 14 + 2 = 16
CREATIVITY: 3.5 / 5
While at first glance, all the Pokemon in your team are very trending in their own right (all of them are UU), your team has some incredibly interesting options such as Trick + Iron Ball on Sableye, Iron Head on Entei, Icy Wind on Porygon2, Focus Blast on Heliolisk, and slapping a Yache Berry on Salamence. These warrant a fairly decent score in that criterion.

USE OF INGREDIENT: 3 / 5
While you minimally use what is required in this episode, the direction of the team is very clear: slowing down the opponent (with Icy Wind on Porygon2 and Trick + Iron Ball on Sableye) to open up a possible Salamence sweep.

EFFECTIVENESS: 7.5 / 10
This team is surprisingly solid to face; you might even have a good chance of winning against Iron Chef Euphonos without haxing him very badly. However, given your Sableye doesn't have Taunt, your team would struggle against Curse Snorlax midway through; hence you might need to consider having a Fighting-type in your team for that, and Lucario might be your best bet here. On another hand, your team lacks a hazard setter (not sure whether if it's necessary in this team or not); as such, opposing Pokemon holding a Focus Sash would interrupt your sweep with Salamence that way. Nevertheless, the team's effective enough to warrant a good score in this criterion.

Eeyore: 12.5 + 2 - 1 = 13.5
CREATIVITY: 3 / 5
Your team had some unorthodox options such as Mixed Mega Absol with Fire Blast and Play Rough, Crunch on Gyarados, and Focus Blast on Dragalge, all of which warrant a fairly decent score in this category.

USE OF INGREDIENT: 3 / 5
This is one minimalistic use of the secret ingredient, but the direction as a bulky offensive team is present, branching out with other back-up plans in the form of Scarf Heracross and Mega Absol, which is a nice thing to have.

EFFECTIVENESS: 6.5 / 10
Iron Chef Euphonos exploited one of your team's weaknesses during the match, and it's one of the worst weaknesses: the lack of Rock resistances--a lack of a definite switch-in. What should come into your mind, notably to this team, when it comes to such shortcoming is the inclusion of a defensive Steel-type Pokemon. It also seemed that Dragalge didn't pull off much weight in the team, in which a Steel-type Pokemon could be more welcome there. Otherwise, it's still a solid team warranting a good score in this criterion.

MetaTres: 14 - 1 = 13
CREATIVITY: 4 / 5
Hydro Pump Salamence, Blaze Kick Lucario (both of which are very novelty and situational at best), Whimsicott with Switcheroo and Lagging Tail and Linoone warranted a considerably high score in this criterion. What holds this team back from garnering a much higher score than deserved is that the former two sets mentioned is somehow iffy at best and needs to be replaced, and that would be consequently reflected in the Effectiveness criterion.

USE OF INGREDIENT: 4 / 5
Two sweepers with higher form of priority in Extreme Speed is a good take on how to incorporate its theme. Coupled with Whimsicott's disruptive capabilities, this team deserves a good score in this criterion.

EFFECTIVENESS: 6 / 10
As mentioned in the Creativity criterion, while Salamence and Lucario have some creative touches, it's quite redundant to slap those filler moves and resort to much standard moves such as having Defog over Hydro Pump and Roost over Dragon Pulse on Salamence as a way of controlling hazards and maintaining its health respectively, and Bullet Punch (or Iron Tail) over Lucario to take out Mega Aerodactyl. Massive weaknesses to Fighting and Ice attacks aside, this team has surprisingly good offensive synergy; the changes here would be of great help to the team.

eaglehawk: 13.5 - 1 = 12.5
CREATIVITY: 3.5 / 5
Magic Coat Azelf is back in action, but I warn you that repetitively using that set successively will lose its luster soon enough. Otherwise, you made use of Cloyster's conventional Shell Smash set with a rather uncommon yet disgusting item in King's Rock, Gyarados's Double-Edge inspired by Iron Chef Hogg in his Rock'n'Roll Suicide RMT, and Lilligant, warranting a fairly decent score in this criterion.

USE OF INGREDIENT: 3.5 / 5
Aside from the use of nifty priority moves from the likes of Azelf with Magic Coat, Cloyster with Ice Shard, and Infernape with Vacuum Wave, the other "cheap shot" that you incorporated is the use of King's Rock on Cloyster; it seems disgusting to several players, but that's what cheap shots are for, yes? However, your priority moves in Ice Shard and Vacuum Wave are not enough to disrupt a sweep from the opposition.

EFFECTIVENESS: 6.5 / 10
Unfortunately, the team lacks the substantial pressure against Prankster Pokemon (most notably Whimsicott which Iron Chef Euphonos exploited in that match), which is reflected in the Use of Ingredient criterion. Upon further examination, Mega Aerodactyl with Hone Claws (given no Reflect) would be a huge nuisance to this team (Cloyster's Ice Shard can't KO Mega Aerodactyl unboosted, and Infernape's Vacuum Wave never OHKO's regardless of boost unless weakened), and it will fairly KO the opposition once it sets up Hone Claws due to your lack of Rock resistances. Otherwise, the presence is very solid for an offensive team which warrants a decent score here.

Kreme: 12 - 1 = 11
CREATIVITY: 2.5 / 5
You really had the balls to run Focus Blast on Lucario. Salutations to you. However, while there's also Hidden Power [Electric] Empoleon in the team, the rest of the team are more or less trending in the metagame, so a fairly average score is given here.

USE OF INGREDIENT: 2.5 / 5
While your team does have some good priority moves in Lucario's Vacuum Wave and Mamoswine's Ice Shard, you have admitted that these two are for completing the requirement. However, there's a little bonus: Pursuit on Mega Aerodactyl, while not exactly a requirement, is still a cheap shot in spirit, and along with Gardevoir's Trick, warrants a fair score in this criterion.

EFFECTIVENESS: 7 / 10
This team is one of the most threatening teams ever faced in this episode, as this team provides numerous threats slapped on one team backed up with Gardevoir's Healing Wish support. Fighting weaknesses aside, the offensive presence in the team is very solid to warrant a considerably good score in this criterion.

Manipulative: 11 + 2 - 3 = 10
CREATIVITY: 1.5 / 5
Very straightforward; nothing creative here except for slapping Shadow Claw on Doublade.

USE OF INGREDIENT: 2.5 / 5
This is one minimalistic use of the secret ingredient--more of slapped to fulfill its requirement. However, you used those priority moves to the set-up sweepers, which is a very decent take on its incorporation.

EFFECTIVENESS: 7 / 10
The offensive presence of the team is very strong; however, a lot of things come into your way that didn't show its true colors upon practice. First of all, as Iron Chef Hogg exploited in the match, your Mega Blastoise will get seriously overwhelmed by hazards, which will seriously punish the rest of the team as well. Finally, your team always gets disrupted by Prankster Pokemon when attempting to set-up, which is very annoying; and given the overwhelming amount of hazards laid (especially Toxic Spikes), your team will eventually succumb to damages brought by hazards. What needs to change is something that would exert pressure on hazard setters, preventing anyone from disrupting your sweep, and it could be worked out. Nevertheless, the team is very beastly offensively, so keep that mindset to your advantage!

. . . . . . .

That moment when I, as an Iron Chef, pulled off more cheap shots than all challengers. I felt very disappointed in this episode because almost everyone made minimal use of the secret ingredients this round, making it quite hard for me to rate teams like those.

Two hours from now, the new secret ingredient for the next episode of Iron Chef will be up! Stay tuned!

The secret ingredient for this episode is...

UNDER THE SEA!

Darling, it's better down where it's wetter,
take it from me.
Up on the shore they work all day,
out in the sun they slave away,
While we devotin' full time to floatin'
under the sea~

Recently, the hype of this tier has something to do with the Water Pokemon. Gyarados was recently dropped last January due to its extremely low usage. Crawdaunt was suspected after new drops last December and was welcomed by the Underused community soon after. Feraligatr was the talk of the town once Sheer Force was introduced. Finally, Sharpedo, while dropped in the Rarelyused tier as a base, can still be threatening with its Mega evolution.

In this episode of Iron Chef, you are allowed to select at least two of these mentioned Pokemon. All of these sets are blank, so you may devise moves, EV spreads, anything at your discretion. (note: Sharpedonite is not required, shall you elect to use Sharpedo.)

Also, potential drops will happen within this week; therefore, new Pokemon introduced in the Underused tier are not allowed for this episode, but they will be allowed in the succeeding episodes.

You have until

to complete your dishes to be sent to the Chairman via PM.

Allez, cuisine!

Defeated Chef SPEBSQSA in a game that he could have possibly won if it weren't for his lack of attention to some minor details. GG!
Minor details like "Gyarados used bounce, probably should stop trying to teach my roommate how to cook while mons." I feel amazingly stupid for that one.

Also lost a match to Hogg, couldn't find an answer to his Sableye. Guess I should have just accepted the burn on Torn early to move the game along and start him shuffling mons.
