Hello, if you're not involved, please don't post in this thread until the completion of this battle. Thank you.

To begin with, some quotes...

"This arena is so broken! I've experienced this first hand!" - Rediamond
"I want Deck Knight to beat IAR, so we don't have to see that friggin' musdtorm shit ever again!" - Darkamber8828
"I think this arena will get a 'Not Approved' from the commitee." - dogfish44
"This arena is great for crushing inattentive noobs." - Lord Jesseus
"brb, editing Mudstorm out of IAR's Arena Post." - Engineer Pikachu

Yes, this infamous arena was so well received, that I myself had to lock it away in the Arena Compendium thread, relegated to the history books. It was supposed to never see the light of day again...Until one typon77 came along, unaware of the brokeness, & thought "Hey, this arena sounds cool, let's have a battle on it!". Korski accepted, & I had to ref. Here we are today, seeing two users do battle. Here's the regs.

REGULATIONS
1v1 FE Training Singles
1 Day DQ

Arena: Terra Cage
Field Type: Ground
Complexity: Moderate
Format: All

Restrictions: All Weather inducing moves/abilites bar Sandstorm/Sand Stream/Cloud Nine/Air Lock will fail, No Water Source, No Natural Grass, Limited ceiling

Description: Terra Cage is a rough, indoor, desolate place that despite its hard, rocky surface, can be dug into. It is about 50x50m in length & width, & it is 30m high. The main mechanic here that gives Ground Types an advantage here is that when Sandstorm is used, it randomly fuses itself with the mud that can be found in some places around the arena, & the Sandstorm turns into a Mudstorm.
During a Mudstorm, at the end of every action, anything that isn't a Ground Type takes 2 Damage, +1 if the Pokemon is weak to Ground, or -1 if the Pokemon resists Ground (Flying & Levitiate is considered Neutral, Pokemon with Overcoat/Magic Guard don't take any damage). In addition, all non-Ground Type moves used by non-Ground Type Pokemon have a flat 5% reduction in Accuracy. Any Ground-Type Pokemon that would benefit from Sandstorm through Typing, Abilities, etc. Will receive the same benefits in a Mudstorm. Mudstorms only last the first three turns of a Sandstorm, after which, it will go back to a regular Sandstorm.

Summary: Anything mentioned in the Restrictions, plus Sandstorm will turn into a Mudstorm when used.

Now, who did these two bring?

Colossoil [Crush] (M)
Nature: Adamant (+1 Attack, -1 SpAtk)

Type: Dark/Ground
Dark: Dark STAB; Immunity to all telepathic and telekinetic attacks, better performance in all darkened and especially twilight conditions. Can use any Dark-type attack regardless of Attraction.
Ground: Ground STAB; Immune to all electrical attacks, can Dig through almost any substance, Evasive Digging reduced from 3 per action Energy Cost to 2 per action, superior senses in darkened cave surroundings.

Abilities:
Rebound: (Innate) When this Pokemon is released into battle, it senses the hazards the opponent has laid on the field and thrusts them to the other side of the arena where they will affect the opponent's Pokemon. The Pokemon does not suffer the effects of these hazards when it switches in.
Guts: (Innate) This Pokemon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the base attack power of all its physical attacks by two (2). Pokemon with Guts ignore the attack drop from burn.
Pressure (DW) [LOCKED]: (Innate) This Pokemon’s presence fills the air with intense anxiety, and any damaging or status attack launched at this Pokemon costs the opposing Pokemon two (2) more energy to perform.

  • Immunity: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body has an immensely strong immune response to venom and does not take poison damage when Poisoned. Toxic Poisoning will not do damage, however it will continue getting more severe.
  • Thick Fat: (Innate) This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)
  • Gluttony (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat).

  • Rock: Rock STAB; Take 2 less damage from all special attacks during Sandstorm. Able to use Sand Tomb without losing focus.
Abilities: Lightningrod, Solid Rock, Reckless
  • Lightningrod: (Innate) These Pokemon naturally attract electricity to themselves and away from partners in double battles. When struck with an Electric attack, they tranfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
  • Solid Rock: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body is extremely solid and durable, and the Base Attack Power of incoming super-effective attacks is reduced by two (2).
  • Reckless (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon has an innately aggressive nature that lets it use all-out attacks with recoil more effectively. Recoil attacks from this Pokemon have two (2) more Base Attack Power, and recoil percentage is unaffected.

  • Bug: Bug STAB; More mobility in dense brush or forest conditions. Gain an extra guaranteed attack on multi-hit moves.
Abilities: Compoundeyes, Mountaineer, Technician
  • Compoundeyes: (Innate) This Pokemon’s complex eyes give it a comprehensive view of the field, making its attack 30% (x1.3) more accurate.
  • Mountaineer: (Innate) This Pokemon is used to scaling and avoiding rocks. It can avoid damage from Stealth Rock when it switches in, and all Rock-type attacks the round it switches in. In subsequent rounds Mountaineer will not evade Rock-type attacks.
  • Technician (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). I'm trying to avoid DQ here but no one's done approvals in days which is holding up my Exp. Share. If you guys don't tell anyone I guess we can pretend like it's approved already and move on with the match.

That said, I will go ahead I guess and send out Mosquixote @ Mountaineer with an "Exp. Share" and lol@ how neither poke knows Sandstorm.

IF Fire Fang, THEN Counter.

typon77 vs. Korski (1v1 Singles) - IAR Refs - Round 1

TYPON77 VS. KORSKI

Round One - Thank Goodness There Won't Be Any Mud Flinging Today...

Yes, typon77 came to the mudstorm arena, just to use a Colossoil...Who didn't have Sandstorm. Whew, at least this fight won't be *shades* a dirty fight! (/Alchematorpunfail) Moving on, & let's see how a Colossoil fare against a Syclant...

Mosquixote begins by giving Crush a cold reception, firing a wave of ice his way & pelting him for a lot of damage! Crush is not amused, & responds by playing mind games with Mosquixote, subjecting him into a state where he cannot be repetitive! Before Mosquixote could react to this, however, Crush does not let up & makes a fast burst of speed, striking & shocking Mosquixote, who just cringes in fear. Mosquixote then recovers from the blow & blasts another wave of ice at Crush, battering him again! Crush simply bounces up, barely misses the ceiling, & drops down, literally crushing Mosquixote, but Mosquixote lived & only took damage.

Round done, & while Mosquixote outdamaged Crush, Crush's huge starting HP means that he keeps the HP Advantage. What will happen next round? Find out next time on CAP ASB Tower Matches...

typon77 vs. Korski (1v1 Singles) - IAR Refs - Round 2

TYPON77 VS. KORSKI

Round Two - A Close Shave...

Well, with Mountaineer gone for, things look fairly gloomy for Mosquixote, even after a promising start! But with a big, hungry Colossoil ready to pounce, will Mosquixote survive this assault? Well, let's see.

Mosquixote begins by emitting a loud, horrible noise, that disturbs Crush & batters him for some damage! Crush then starts to make a charge, firing loose rocks from overhead & flatten Mosquixote, dealing a lot of damage! Crush doesn't let up, proceeding to bite Mosquixote with a powerful, fiery bite, leaving Mosquixote with very low health! But suddenly, Mosquixote responds with a mega wave of crushing snow, burying Crush in the snow! Eventually, Crush gets back up, though he looks in an extemely bad way! Crush then took advantage of Mosquixote's cooldown, firing another series of rocks from overhead & this time, not only did the rocks hit, but it also proved to be the final straw for Mosquixote, who is down for the count!

And as a result, after 2 Rounds, typon77 was declared the winner of the battle. Both players shook hands & said their gg's, & left the arena...At least there was no Mudstorm in this fight...
