Overview

########

  • With 100 Base HP, 75 Def, and 105 SpD Jellicent fils the role of a bulky support mon quite well

  • With the combination of its bulk, typing, and Water Absorb as an ability Jellicent has a great ability to switch in, as well as wall quite a few pokemon.

  • In most cases it is best to use one water move as its STAB attack.

  • Jellicent best fits on teams that utilize trick room well.

  • Jellicent is capable of taking on a fair portion of the meta for its role such Mega-Kangaskhan, Mega-Metagross, Mega-Diancie, and other physical attackers. While it also completely walls water pokemon such as Keldeo.
  • Jellicent has no real offensive presence even with hydro pump or water spout.
  • The ghost typing assists Jellicent as a trick room setter, as without scrappy it cannot be fake'd out.

Special Attacker

########

name: Bulky Trick Room Setter

move 1: Trick Room

move 2: Hydro Pump / Water Spout

move 3: Will-O-Wisp

move 4: Protect / Recover / Curse

ability: Water Absorb

item: Safety Goggles / Sitrus Berry

evs: 252 HP / 140 Def / 116 SpD
ivs: 0 Spe

nature: Sassy

Moves

========

  • Trick room is used for speed control

  • Hydro Pump is usually a better option if it is your preferred lead.

  • Water Spout puts out a decent amount of damage, though scald can be a bit more reliable at times, especially with the burn chance. Water Spout could potentially prove useless in a game as you may be required to repeatedly recover just to put out near respectable damage, which could waste TR turns.

  • Will - O - Wisp obviously handicaps physical attackers, but also gives an option when in fear of Sucker Punch.

  • Recover assists with keeping the already quite bulky Jellicent alive long term, which in turn also helps with stalling if necessary.
  • Protect can keep Jellicent safe while its partner deals with opposing threats to Jellicent, potentially allowing it to set up trick room.

Set Details

========

  • The Spread capitalizes on the already bulky stats Jellicent has.

  • Recover pairs very well with Water Spout, allowing it to continuously put out max damage, stall, and bait hits continuously.

  • With the combination of typing, will o wisp, and recover Jellicent is capable of walling a fair portion of the meta, mainly fighting, water types.

  • Once again with the combination of typing, and Water Absorb Jellicent becomes a viable situation for a vast amount of situations. In most cases it will either take no damage, or extremely little if used correctly.
  • Sassy Nature combined with 0 speed ivs allows it to reach its minimum speed stat, which in turn will allow Jellicent to outspeed pokemon in trick room.

Usage Tips

========

  • Great stop to Kangaskhan due to Jellicent being virtually untouchable by it

  • Dealing with threats is important to do before committing to stalling out while you’re whittling away at the remaining mons.
  • It is best used as a lead trick room setter, as most pokemon cannot use fake out on it, which will lead to an easy set up of trick room.

Team Options

========

  • Trick room is the ultimate option for speed control with Jellicent.
  • Pokemon such as Scrafty offer fake out support which makes it much easier for Jellicent to successfully use Trick Room.
  • Mega Camerupt takes advantage of both trick room, and Water Absorb quite well. Trick room capitalizing on its extremely low speed, and Water Absorb covering its biggest weakness. While it can also take out grass types that would otherwise threaten Jellicent.
  • Ferrothorn is a great partner, and with mega Camel it forms a nice FWG core that's fairly hard to take down.
  • Sylveon takes advantage of will-o-wisp with its poor defensive stat.
  • If used on a full trick room team it is just about always good to bring a second trick room setter. Cresselia is a very viable option.
Other Options

########

  • Scald can prove to be a viable option for teams that are especially weak in physical defense, or lack intimidate as the burn chance has potential to help out in that area quite a bit.
  • Shadow ball could be added as a surprise option to assist with teams weak to Aegislash.
  • Jellicent is also bulky enough to take a hit from a pokemon, and use disable on it, taking away potentially its best move.
  • Curse could also be a viable option if other moves seem to be redundant on a team.
  • Cursed Body can be a helpful form of support if Water Absorb is not needed.

Checks & Counters

########

**Typing Advantage**: Jellicent’s main threats are Electric, and Grass types, but also struggles against Dark and Ghost Types. Pokemon such as Thundurus, Zapdos, and Rotom are all capable oh 2HKOing Jellicent, while Jellicent cannot do much in response. Mega-Venusaur is a total wall, and direct counter to Jellicent, as the best it can attempt to do it burn it and stall for one or two turns if forced to stay on the field. Aegislash matches its slow speed when minimum, and is completely capable of 2HKOing Jellicent, while the best it can do is burn and possible stall. Dark Types such as Hydreigon or Darkrai also fair very well against Jellicent, while Hydreigon is capable of walling it entirely. Bisharp completely counters Jellicent with its only option being to try to will-o-wisp it, but it out of tr Jellicent will usually not be given the chance. Special Dragons are capable of walling Jellicent. Charizard-Y will usually beat Jellicent due to it being able to learn Solar Beam, and Jellicent being so weak.

**Taunt**: When taunted Jellicent will only be able to use Water Spout, which in most cases is not the best option.

Take a look at the overview section in this post and add some of the stuff you're missing and provide a little more detail in the overview. For example, Jelli is more of a niche pick and isn't always the best choice for a TR setter, its use coming mainly from the synergy it provides with Mega Camel. Also generally try to provide a little more detail in your points throughout the skeleton.

Overview:
  • Mention that it has next to 0 offensive presence, even with Hydro Pump
  • Mention its typing gives it a Fake Out immunity which is nice for a TR setter
  • While it can wall water types, it can't do much back as its poor power alongside usually only running water offensive moves leaves it kinda walled itself
Set:
  • Put Curse in OO, not as a slash
  • Set the Speed IVs to 0
  • I'd like to see Water Spout moved into other options. On a TR set you're going to be taking a hit while setting up, and that leaves you having to recover every turn to get the BP of WS up, creating a loop where you don't really make use of your TR turns. Idk, opinions QC people?
Moves:
  • Mention protect, and how it can keep Jelli safe while its parter deals with a threat, allowing more chances to get TR up
  • Say that Water Spout isn't always ideal on a TR setter as alot of the time Jelli will take a hit while getting TR set up, hurting its damage
Set Details:
  • Provide details of what the spread does in terms of benchmarks etc
  • Mention why the nature and 0 Speed IVs are used
Usage Tips:
  • Works best as a lead usually, can't be faked out. If using Protect, you can Protect turn one, while switching in to your Fake Out user, allowing you to Fake Out a Taunt user on turn 2 and get TR up
Team Options:
  • Ferrothorn is a great partner, and with mega Camel it forms a nice FWG core that's fairly hard to take down
  • Sylveon likes its poor Def stat patched up somewhat by the WoW support
  • Usually best to bring a second TR setter if full TR is being used, Cresselia works
Other Options:
  • Mention Cursed Body, as if you don't really need the water immunity, Cursed Body can cause some random chaos coupled with Jellis ability to take hits well
Checks and Counters:
  • Bisharp messes you up really hard
  • Still kinda loses to Charizard Y because of Solarbeam and Sun weakening its already poor power
  • Special dragons in general wall you
1/3 once all this is done.

I wouldn't even mention curse cuz it's 50% of your HP and all they need to do is switch to get rid of it, and it's not exactly difficult to find something which can switch in on jellicent.

for sure

hi there

Overview
  • don't mention the specific base stats, since it tells you what they are in the dex already. instead, say something along the lines of "respectable bulk suited for doubles ou" or the like
Set
  • remove curse. forcing a switch is not worth half of your entire health.
Set Details
  • you can't just say "The Spread capitalizes on the already bulky stats Jellicent has." you need to provide just why this spread is good, what jellicent survives with these EVs, etc.
  • mention that will-o-wisp is great for predicting sucker punch from pokemon like mawile or bisharp
Team Options
  • mega mawile is also another great tr mon that you can use; it gets rid of the dark and ghost types that jellicent usually dies against
Other Options
  • remove curse. forcing a switch is not worth half of your entire health.
  • mention cursed body before disable
Checks & Counters
  • **Taunt** is not one of the usable c&c tags in doubles. instead, change that to **Utility**
  • under that same tag, mention that prankster encore can be used on the turn after trick room to catch your opponent off guard by forcing jellicent to remove trick room

also, i would remove some of the random indents that you have in the set.
tag me once you implement these and i'll look it over and hopefully give you 2/3
