[GP 2/2: Winry / Kris]

[OVERVIEW]

Kabuto has a niche in being a Rapid Spin user that can also set up Stealth Rock, allowing it to perform two major roles in a team. Kabuto also has access to Knock Off, which allows it to remove foes' Eviolites and hit the Ghost-types that try and block Rapid Spin. Its useful Water typing allows it to beat many common leads like Onix and Dwebble, as well as giving it resistances to common types like Fire, Poison, and Flying. With a solid Defense stat and Rock typing, Kabuto becomes a decent Flying-type check; while it is weak to Fighting, Kabuto survives a Jump Kick from Doduo, a Superpower from Bulk Up Rufflet, and two Knock Offs from Vullaby while OHKOing Doduo and Rufflet and 2HKOing Vullaby with Rock Slide. Kabuto has a good Attack stat that allows it to beat Drilbur and Life Orb Diglett with Waterfall. After it is activated, Weak Armor allows Kabuto to outspeed Pokemon such as Doduo and Rufflet. Despite its good defensive prowess, its special bulk is lackluster, making it lose to many mixed and special attackers like Staryu, Foongus, and Spritzee. While it is a decent Flying-type check, a poor defensive typing also gives it weaknesses to common Fighting-, Electric-, and Grass-type moves. Kabuto also faces competition from other Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur and other Stealth Rock setters such as Dwebble and Onix, which have better Speed stats, offensive presences, and defensive typings.

Moves
========

Rapid Spin allows Kabuto to remove entry hazards, and unlike Defog, it will not remove the Stealth Rock that Kabuto sets up on the opponent's side of the field. Rapid Spin also breaks Sturdy on opposing Pokemon, particularly lead Onix and Dwebble, and enables Kabuto to KO them next turn with Waterfall. Stealth Rock causes the opponent's Pokemon to take chip damage throughout the match. Having Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock on the same Pokemon provides good role compression. Knock Off provides great utility by allowing Kabuto to remove Eviolites and cripple defensive Pokemon, remove Berry Juice from Sturdy leads such as Onix and Dwebble, remove Choice Scarfs from Pokemon like Doduo and Chinchou, and severely damage spinblockers such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Frillish. Rock Slide is a good secondary STAB move that hits Flying-types super effectively, making Kabuto a good Flying-type check. Aqua Jet allows Kabuto to beat Onix, Dwebble, and Focus Sash Diglett more easily, as well as picking off weakened, faster threats to your team. Waterfall lets Kabuto hit Ground-types hard, OHKOing Mudbray and 2HKOing its RestTalk set.

Set Details
========

Weak Armor is the preferred ability, as it doubles Kabuto's Speed after Kabuto takes a physical hit. This puts its physical bulk to good use and allows it to KO a variety of revenge killers like Abra and Choice Scarf Chinchou. 156 EVs in Speed allow Kabuto to outspeed 19 Speed and slower Choice Scarf users after a Weak Armor boost, such as Mienfoo, Pawniard, Doduo, and Gastly. A Careful nature along with the HP, Defense, and Special Defense EVs give Kabuto more defensive power, particularly specially, to survive a hit and get a Weak Armor boost. Eviolite is the chosen item because it gives Kabuto enough bulk to take most physical hits, including a Superpower from Rufflet after Stealth Rock damage and nearly always a Knock Off followed by Iron Head from Pawniard.

Usage Tips
========

Kabuto can be used as a lead, but should not be used as such if the opponent has a Taunt user. If the opponent has Onix or Dwebble, however, Kabuto is a great lead because it can easily defeat these common leads with Knock Off and Waterfall. If your opponent has a spinblocker such as Pumpkaboo-XL or Frillish, you can predict the switch-in and cripple it with Knock Off, dealing massive damage and removing their item. You should make use of Kabuto's bulk and resistances by using it as a Flying-type check or switching it in on resisted physical hits. Switching in on Rapid Spin allows Kabuto to double its Speed thanks to Weak Armor while taking minimal damage. However, Kabuto has limited longevity, since it takes large amounts of damage from special attacks, and Weak Armor makes each consecutive physical hit stronger by reducing Kabuto's Defense. Because of this, Kabuto should be used as a pivot and switched in and out until its job of hazard control is complete.

Team Options
========

Teams that need role compression appreciate Kabuto, as it functions as a Flying-type check, an entry hazard setter, and a hazard remover. Fire-types such as Ponyta, Larvesta, and Torchic appreciate Rapid Spin support and can switch in on Grass-type moves. Flame Body users such as Larvesta and Ponyta also discourage Fighting-types such as Mienfoo from throwing around too many Fighting-type moves. Flying-types such as Vullaby and Rufflet appreciate Rapid Spin support and can switch in on Ground- and Grass-type moves, and Grass-types can also switch in on Ground- and Grass-type moves. Foongus and Cottonee are especially useful, as they resist Fighting-type moves as well. Foongus can also beat most Grass-types with Sludge Bomb. In return, Kabuto can switch in on Poison-, Fire-, and Flying-type moves aimed at Grass-types. Spinblockers and Defog deterrents such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Pawniard, respectively, can help prevent foes from removing Stealth Rock. Pumpkaboo-XL can also switch in on Ground-type moves for Kabuto, and Kabuto which in return switches in on the Flying-, Fire-, and Poison-type moves aimed at Pumpkaboo. Fast pivots such as Mienfoo, Elekid, and Choice Scarf Chinchou can help to bring Weak Armor Kabuto in against weak or resisted physical attacks, giving it a Weak Armor Speed boost. Pokemon like Carvanha and Aipom appreciate the extra damage that Stealth Rock provides.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Waterium Z allows Kabuto to significantly damage many of its switch-ins with Hydro Vortex, and Rockium Z allows it to OHKO Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage with Continental Crush, but Eviolite is generally a better option due to the extra bulk it provides in allowing Kabuto to survive important hits from Pokemon like Rufflet and Doduo. Hone Claws lets Kabuto increase its Attack and make its Rock Slide more accurate, although Kabuto does not have enough space to run Rapid Spin, Hone Claws, and two attacks and still be very effective. A Swift Swim set can be used on rain teams, but the lack of any Pokemon with Drizzle in LC makes this unviable.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-types**: Magnemite and Chinchou take very little damage from Kabuto and can OHKO and 2HKO it with Thunderbolt, respectively, but they do not like having their items removed with Knock Off.

**Fighting-types**: Mienfoo, Timburr, and Scraggy can switch in on Kabuto without taking much damage from it, and, in the case of Timburr and Scraggy, start setting up on Kabuto. Mienfoo can also Taunt Kabuto to prevent it setting up Stealth Rock. Croagunk is a great counter to Kabuto as well because it has a pseudo-immunity to Water-type attacks thanks to Dry Skin and can threaten Kabuto with Focus Blast and Vacuum Wave.

**Grass-types**: Foongus, Cottonee, Ferroseed, and Pumpkaboo-XL all wall Kabuto and KO it with their Grass-type STAB moves. However, Pumpkaboo-XL can be severely damaged with Knock Off, and most of them are severely crippled by having their item removed.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types resist Rock Slide and most of them can threaten Kabuto, such as Magnemite, Alolan Sandshrew, and Pawniard. Pawniard is particularly effective at this, as it resists Knock Off as well.

* Specify that Weak Armor allows Kabuto to outspeed Rufflet and Doduo after it's taken a hit.
* I wouldn't say that Knock Off gives Kabuto a 'very useful movepool.' That's indeed true, but it's more important to say that it can remove Eviolites and hit the Ghost-types that will try blocking Kabuto's Rapid Spin.]
* Say defensive prowess, not physical prowess (the physical moves Kabuto uses most are Physical anyway).
* In your last sentence, remove "but distinguishes itself by being one of the only two Pokemon able to effectively do both, the other being Drilbur." since that's unnecessary fluff, but replace it with elaboration on why it competes with Staryu and Drilbur (they have better Speed, offensive presences, and defensive typings).

Minor change here, but QC talked and decided that Aqua Jet was good enough to be on this set. It's STAB priority that's quite useful for picking off weakened threats and dealing damage one last time before fainting.

Moves
* Make sure to say something about Aqua Jet here and its function (make sure it's mentioned in between Rock Slide and Waterfall).
* "It has good bulk and thanks to Weak Armor, it is reliable at setting up Stealth Rock and capable of beating opposing leads" - this is better information for Set Details or Usage Tips. As such, this sentence should be replace with general information regarding Stealth Rock's purpose (something like 'Stealth Rock allows Kabuto to deal chip damage to foes that switch in'), since there currently isn't one.
* Give examples of spinblockers damaged by Knock Off (Pumpkaboo-XL and Frillish are the best ones to use here).
* Specify that Waterfall 2HKOes RestTalk Mudbray, as other sets have a chance to be OHKOed.

Set Details
Looks good

Usage Tips

* Remove Geodude as an example of a lead Kabuto does well against, it isn't relevant and Dwebble and Onix are fine as the only examples.
* Give examples of spinblockers you say the opponent may have (for reference regarding a Pokemon's relevance, only give examples of Pokemon that are B- or higher on the VR unless there are specific exceptions)

Team Options
* Change Magby to Torchic when talking about Fire-types, the latter is much more relevant.
* Give more than one example of a fast pivot. Elekid and Choice Scarf Chinchou work as examples alongside Mienfoo.

Other Options
* Remove Aqua Jet mentions since it's being moved up to the set
* Move your Swift Swim sentence to the bottom of this section, since it's the least viable of what's mentioned here.

Checks and Counters
* Just so your Electric-type section's line has a little more substance, say that both Pokemon mentioned should be wary of having their items removed from Knock Off.
* Give Croagunk a specific mention in the Fighting-type section. Say that it checks Kabuto particularly well due to its pseudo-immunity to Water-type attacks thanks to Dry Skin, and ability to threaten Kabuto with STAB Focus Blast or Vacuum Wave.
* Remove Lileep from the Grass-type section, it's irrelevant.
* Remove Alolan Diglett from the Steel-type section and use Alolan Sandshrew as your replacement example, Alolan Dig's not relevant.

Make sure all of this is implemented, since it's kind of a lot, and give yourself 3/3 afterwards. Hmu on discord if you have any questions.

**Grass-types**: Foongus, Cottonee, Ferroseed Ferroseed, and Pumpkaboo-Super Pumpkaboo-XL all wall Kabuto and KO it with their Grass-type STABs. STAB moves. However, Pumpkaboo-Super Pumpkaboo-XL can be severely damaged with Knock Off, and most of them are severely crippled by having their item removed.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types resist Rock Slide and most of them can threaten Kabuto, such as Magnemite, Alolan Sandshrew, and Pawniard. Pawniard is particularly effective at this, as it resists Knock Off as well.
Thanks for the check! I implemented everything you said! :]

Kabuto has a niche in being a Rapid Spin user that can also set up Stealth Rock, allowing to it fill two major roles in a team. It also has access to Knock Off, which allows Kabuto to hit the Ghost-types that try and block Rapid Spin. Its useful Water typing allows it to beat many common leads like Onix and Dwebble, as well as giving it resistances to common types such as Fire, Poison, and Flying. Kabuto has a good Attack stat, being able to beat Drilbur and Life Orb Diglett with Waterfall. With a solid Defense stat and its Rock typing, Kabuto becomes a decent Flying-type check. [end sentence] living a Jump Kick from Doduo, a Superpower from Rufflet, [these are both Fighting-type moves? I realize they come from Flying-types but they're super effective aren't they?] and two Knock Offs from Vullaby while OHKOing Doduo and Rufflet and 2HKOing Vullaby with Rock Slide. Kabuto has a good Attack stat that allows it to beat Drilbur and Life Orb Diglett with Waterfall. [move to after the previous sentence to keep all the parts about typing in the same spot] After it is activated, Weak Armor allows Kabuto, [rc] after it has taken a hit, [rc] to outspeed Pokemon such as Doduo and Rufflet as well. In addition to Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock, Knock Off gives Kabuto a way to hit the Ghost-types that will try to block Rapid Spin and remove foes' Eviolites. Despite its good defensive prowess, its special bulk is lackluster, making it lose to many mixed and special attackers like Staryu, Foongus, and Spritzee. A poor defensive typing [but you talked about Rock typing's merits previously? Is it poor or helpful?] also gives it weaknesses to the common Fighting- [so why mention how it can live Jump Kick and Superpower then say this typing is a detriment?], Electric-, and Grass-type moves. Kabuto also faces competition from other Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur, and other Stealth Rock setters such as Dwebble and Onix, which have better Speed, offensive presence, and defensive typings.

Rapid Spin allows Kabuto to remove entry hazards, and unlike Defog, it will not remove the Stealth Rocks that Kabuto sets up on the opponent's [change the curly quote mark to the straight one] side of the field. Rapid Spin also breaks Sturdy on opposing Pokemon [I'm not really a competitive person... but this seems like a really obvious point], particularly lead Onix and Dwebble, and enables Kabuto to KO next turn with Waterfall. Stealth Rock causes the opponent's Pokemon to take chip damage throughout the match. Having Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock on the same Pokemon provides good role compression. Knock Off provides great utility by allowing Kabuto to remove Eviolites and cripple defensive Pokemon such as defensive Vullaby, bulky Mienfoo, and Spritzee, remove Berry Juice from Sturdy leads such as Onix and Dwebble, remove Choice Scarves from common Choice Scarf users such as Doduo and Chinchou, [honestly not sure if you need to list them all since it makes the sentence reaaallly long but your choice] and severely damage spinblockers such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Frillish. Rock Slide is a good secondary STAB move that hits Flying-types super effectively, making Kabuto a good Flying-type check. Aqua Jet allows Kabuto to beat Onix, Dwebble, and Focus Sash Diglett more easily, as well as pick off weakened, faster threats to your team. Waterfall lets Kabuto hit Ground-types hard, OHKOing Mudbray and 2HKOing its RestTalk set.

Set Details
========

Weak Armor is the preferred ability, as it doubles Kabuto's [change quote] Speed after taking a physical hit. A Careful nature along with the HP, Defense, and Special Defense EVs give Kabuto more defensive power, particularly on the special side, to survive a hit and get a Weak Armor boost. Eviolite is the chosen item because it gives Kabuto enough bulk to take most physical hits, including a Superpower from Rufflet after Stealth Rock damage and nearly always a Knock Off followed by Iron Head from Pawniard.

Usage Tips
========

Kabuto can be used as a lead, but should not be used as such if the opponent has a Taunt user. If the opponent has Onix or Dwebble, however, [ac] Kabuto is a great lead because it can easily defeat these common leads with Knock Off and Waterfall. If your opponent has a spinblocker such as Pumpkaboo-XL or Frillish, you can predict the switch-in and cripple it with Knock Off, dealing massive damage and removing their item. You should make use of Kabuto's [quote change] bulk and resistances by using it as a Flying-type check or switching it in on resisted physical hits. Switching in on Rapid Spin allows Kabuto to double its Speed thanks to Weak Armor while taking minimal damage. However, Kabuto has limited longevity, since it takes large amounts of damage from special attacks, and Weak Armor makes each consecutive physical hit stronger by reducing Kabuto's [quote change] Defense. Because of this, Kabuto should be used as a pivot and switched in and out until its job of hazard control is complete.

Team Options
========

Teams that need role compression appreciate Kabuto, as it functions as a Flying-type check, a hazard setter, and a hazard remover. Spinblockers and Defog deterrents such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Pawniard, respectively, can help prevent opponents from removing Stealth Rock. Pumpkaboo-XL can also switch in on Ground-type moves for Kabuto, while and Kabuto switches in on Flying-, Fire-, and Poison-type moves aimed at Pumpkaboo. Fast pivots such as Mienfoo, Elekid, and Choice Scarf Chinchou can help to bring Weak Armor Kabuto in against weak or resisted physical attacks, giving it a Weak Armor Speed boost. Pokemon such as Carvanha and Aipom that appreciate the extra damage that Stealth Rock provides enjoy Kabuto's reliable Stealth Rock setting.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Waterium Z allows Kabuto to significantly damage many of its switch-ins with Hydro Vortex and Rockium Z allows it to OHKO Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage with Continental Crush, but Eviolite is generally a better option due to the extra bulk it provides in and allowing Kabuto to live important hits from Pokemon such as Rufflet and Doduo.

===================

========

Spinblockers and Defog deterrents such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Pawniard, respectively, can help prevent opponents foes from removing Stealth Rock. Pokemon such as like Carvanha and Aipom that appreciate the extra damage that Stealth Rock provides enjoy Kabuto's reliable Stealth Rock setting.

Other Options
=============

Waterium Z allows Kabuto to significantly damage many of its switch-ins with Hydro Vortex, (AC) and Rockium Z allows it to OHKO Vullaby after Stealth Rock damage with Continental Crush, but Eviolite is generally a better option due to the extra bulk it provides in allowing Kabuto to live survive important hits from Pokemon such as like Rufflet and Doduo.

[OVERVIEW]

Kabuto has a niche in being a Rapid Spin user that can also set up Stealth Rock, allowing to it fill two major roles in a team. It also has access to Knock Off, which allows Kabuto to remove foes' Eviolites and hit the Ghost-types that try and block Rapid Spin and remove foe's Eviolites. (This is entirely subjective but I first read this as "the Ghost-types that block Rapid Spin and remove Eviolites"; hopefully this removes any ambiguity) Its useful Water typing allows it to beat many common leads like Onix and Dwebble, as well as giving it resistances to common types such as Fire, Poison, and Flying. With a solid Defense stat and its Rock typing, Kabuto becomes a decent Flying-type check; while weak to the Fighting-type, it does survive a a Jump Kick from Doduo, a Superpower from Bulk Up Rufflet, and two Knock Offs from Vullaby while OHKOing Doduo and Rufflet and 2HKOing Vullaby with Rock Slide. While being a decent Flying-type check, a poor defensive typing also gives it weaknesses to the common Fighting-, Electric-, and Grass-type moves. Kabuto also faces competition from other Rapid Spin users such as Staryu and Drilbur, (RC) and other Stealth Rock setters such as Dwebble and Onix, which have better Speed, offensive presence, and defensive typing.

Rapid Spin allows Kabuto to remove entry hazards, and unlike Defog, it will not remove the Stealth Rocks (remove the "s") that Kabuto sets up on the opponent's [change the curly quote mark to the straight one] (Remove comment) side of the field. Knock Off provides great utility by allowing Kabuto to remove Eviolites and cripple defensive Pokemon, remove Berry Juice from Sturdy leads such as Onix and Dwebble, remove Choice Scarves Scarfs from common Choice Scarf users such as Pokemon like Doduo and Chinchou, and severely damage spinblockers such as Pumpkaboo-XL and Frillish.

Set Details
========

Weak Armor is the preferred ability, as it doubles Kabuto's Speed after taking a physical hit. A Careful nature along with the HP, Defense, and Special Defense EVs give Kabuto more defensive power, particularly specially on the special side, (There are no sides) to survive a hit and get a Weak Armor boost. Eviolite is the chosen item because it gives Kabuto enough bulk to take most physical hits, including a Superpower from Rufflet after Stealth Rock damage and nearly always a Knock Off followed by Iron Head from Pawniard.

Thank you both for the checks! I implemented them. Sorry for taking so long, but my wi-fi wasn't working for about three days. It's all good now, though.

This is completed and ready to be uploaded. Thanks again to everyone that helped!
