[OVERVIEW]
  • frail
  • fast
  • strong
  • basically awesome revenge killer thanks to Focus Sash Magic Guard and provides Encore support for offensive teams to set up after it has done its job
  • faces competition from bulkier offensive Psychic-types such as Mesprit, Uxie, Sigilyph and even Gardevoir

[SET]
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Psychic / Psyshock
move 2: Shadow Ball
move 3: Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Encore / Taunt
item: Focus Sash
ability: Magic Guard
nature: Modest / Timid
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Packs a surprising punch while having decent coverage
  • Focus Sash is what makes the set so effective. Kadabra's Speed in conjunction with good Special Attack allows it to revenge kill a great deal of threats and still get a hit off (potentially an OHKO) on faster offensive threats that come in after (Durant).
  • Revenge kills a lot of set up sweepers. Kabutops, Durant, -1 Def Gallade, Omastar all come to mind
  • Provides offensive teams with Encore support. Encores common moves like Substitute, Recovery, Sucker Punch etc and gives team mates a chance to set up
  • Psyshock beats Cryogonal but Psychic hits a lot of Kadabra's threats harder (Entei, Kabutops)
  • Taunt has a niche to stop set up attacks and prevents mons like Slowking from recovering or Uxie from Thunder Waving.
  • HP Fire for Escav, Durant, Klinklang etc.
  • Shadow Ball hits Sigilyph and other Psychic- and Ghost-types

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
  • EV spread maximizes Speed and Special Attack because that is all Kadabra needs.
  • Modest is primary slash because the 2 most common pokemon that share Kadabra's base speed are Manectric and Scyther. Kadabra is slower than both due to 30 Speed IV from HP Fire. Scyther U-turns out and Manectric Volt Switches out so Kadabra shouldn't stay in anyway.
  • Timid allows you to outspeed Sigilyph and beat it with Shadow Ball + Encore
  • Likes to be used in conjunction with pokemon that can take advantage of Sucker Punch locked Dark-types. Durant does this well with Hone Claws
  • Klinklang also does this well and tends to be a more conservative choice than Durant
  • Quiver Dance Lilligant appreciates Encore support and also appreciates Kadabra luring and weakening Escavalier with Hidden Power Fire.

[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • Life Orb
  • Calm Mind
  • Substitute
  • Generally too frail for all 3
  • Energy Ball hits most Dark-types harder + Kabutops / Oma but gives poor coverage otherwise
  • Dual Screens (but its still really frail through Screens...)
  • Disable
  • Thunder Wave
  • Signal Beam
  • Trick Room?
  • Miracle Eye????

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]
  • Spiritomb
  • Multi Hit users (Cincinno, Rhydon, Klinklang)
  • Slowking
  • Most any priority will OHKO Kadabra if its Sash is broken
  • Drapion (both offensive and defensive variants) do fairly well.
  • Cryogonal if it lacks Psyshock
  • Uxie
  • Most any Dark-type can fair well but must beware getting their Sucker Punch Encored.

OK SO the primary changes i have made from the other analysis:
  • Removed Life Orb on main set. Kadabra does NOT need Life Orb to be successful as the analysis seems to hint at. Focus Sash is the better Kadabra set in a metagame filled with priority.
  • Hidden Power Fire is better than Hidden Power Fighting. Still hits Steel-types will getting the added advantage of hitting Durant and Escav
  • Encore is too good to leave in OO. Kadabra gets no time to set up Calm Minds or Substitutes so Encore replaces those on the main set.
  • Revamped checks and counters a bit because most of those assume Life Orb is being used. Will mention with emphasis that the Offensive counters need to break Sash first before attempting to take on the hard hitting Kadabra
  • Made Modest primary slash. Power >> everything on Kadabra

I saw that you switched Hidden Power Fire over Hidden Power Fighting but maybe you should to add this at least, because this hit against stuff like Aggron, Hidden Power Fire have a better coverage in overall but if you dont worrie about these mons, Hidden Power Fighting is a decent option at least like i said to take into account.
