Overview
########

Kangaskhan has a notable niche as a dual priority revenge killer with access to Fake Out and Sucker Punch, allowing it to come in on weakened opponents and finish them off with a one-two hit combo. With good overall bulk, Kangaskhan can take multiple hits if invested. Silk Scarf-boosted STAB Double-Edge allows Kangaskhan to 2HKO a lot of the tier, and Scrappy allows Kangaskhan to hit Ghost-type Pokemon trying to switch in on a Normal- or Fighting-type move and grants Kangaskhan unresisted neutral coverage. However, its lack of reliable recovery means that residual damage racks up fast on Kangaskhan between Double-Edge recoil and entry hazards. Kangaskhan also has trouble muscling past physical walls that resist Normal-type attacks.

Physical Attacker
########
name : Physical Attacker
move 1: Fake Out
move 2: Double-Edge / Return
move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Earthquake / Drain Punch
ability: Scrappy
item: Silk Scarf / Leftovers
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========

Fake Out gives Kangaskhan a good priority attack that flinches the opposing Pokemon on the first turn, letting Kangaskhan easily finish off weakened opponents. Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move that puts big dents into teams. Return is a slightly weaker STAB move to be used in the place of Double-Edge should you wish not to take recoil damage. Sucker Punch gives Kangaskhan nice dual priority in combination with Fake Out. Earthquake gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type Pokemon hard. Drain Punch also gives Kangaskhan good coverage on these Pokemon, while regaining HP at the same time; however, Drain Punch is rather weak compared to Earthquake.

Set Details
========

Silk Scarf boosts Normal-type moves while not sacrificing HP, while Leftovers can be used for increased longevity; alternatively, Life Orb can be used, boosting all of Kangaskhan's attacks but decreasing its longevity. An Adamant nature gives Kangaskhan an Attack boost. Alternatively, a Jolly nature can be used to increase Kangaskhan's Speed; however, the difference in power is noticeable. Scrappy lets Kangaskhan hit Ghost-type Pokemon with its STAB moves. A standard offensive spread of maximum Attack and Speed lets Kangaskhan hit hard and outspeed other Pokemon; alternatively, a spread of 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe and an Adamant nature can give Kangaskhan increased bulk while still allowing it to hit hard. Notably, 96 Speed EVs enable Kangaskhan to outspeed fully invested base 70, positive-natured base 60, and uninvested base 100 Speed Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Kangaskhan is a fantastic revenge killer, so you should bring it in on a weakened enemy and use its priority moves to finish the opponent off. Some opponents will predict the obvious Fake Out and switch out right away: try to predict the switch and go for Double-Edge instead to get more damage on the switch-in and possibly 2HKO it. Watch out for Ghost-types with Will-O-Wisp, as they will use it when predicting Sucker Punch. Instead, either switch out, or go for Double-Edge. Kangaskhan can be used as a mid-game cleaner against slower teams, coming in and KOing weakened and slower Pokemon. It is best to soften up its checks and counters early in the game before attempting to clean. Against faster teams Kangaskhan should try denting opposing Pokemon mid-game with Double-Edge.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that resist Fighting-type moves, such as Granbull and Vileplume, make good teammates for Kangaskhan, as they can switch into opposing Fighting-type Pokemon and take a relatively small amount of damage. Entry hazard setters such as Crustle and Garbodor punish switching and help Kangaskhan get more 2HKOs with Double-Edge. Spinblockers help prevent the removal of aforementioned entry hazards and can also help deter the opponent from using Fighting-type moves. Healing Wish support from Mesprit allows Kangaskhan to recover back to full from the recoil damage of Double-Edge, allowing it to punch holes in the opposing team multiple times. Wallbreakers similar to Kangaskhan, such as Choice Band Sawk and Zangoose, can help wear down similar walls and open up holes sooner, allowing Kangaskhan to clean up or another team member to sweep.

Assault Vest
########
name: Assault Vest
move 1: Return
move 2: Drain Punch
move 3: Power-Up Punch / Fake Out
move 4: Sucker Punch
ability: Scrappy
item: Assault Vest
evs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Return is Kangaskhan's primary STAB move. Drain Punch allows Kangaskhan to recover health and hit Steel- and Rock-types. After a boost, Drain Punch recovers a good amount of health. Earthquake can be used over Drain Punch for more power; however, the recovery is usually more beneficial on this set. Power-Up Punch is used to increase Kangaskhan's Attack by one stage, which is useful for sweeping late-game. Sucker Punch provides Kangaskhan with a form of priority. Fake Out can be used over Power-Up Punch for dual priority.

Set Details
========

160 HP EVs let Kangaskhan live an Eruption from Choice Specs Typhlosion and have a chance to live two of its Fire Blasts, while being able to survive two Fire Blasts from Life Orb Pyroar. 252 Attack EVs maximize damage output, while 96 Speed EVs allow Kangaskhan to outspeed max Speed base 70 Pokemon. Scrappy is used to allow Kangaskhan to hit Ghost-types with all of its moves, and Assault Vest increases Kangaskhan's Special Defense. Alternatively, a maximum Speed and Attack spread can be used to still pivot into special attackers while being able to check Sawk and other fast offensive Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Assault Vest Kangaskhan can be used as an offensive pivot against special attackers; however, be wary of switching in multiple times, as Kangaskhan can be worn down fairly quickly and Drain Punch doesn't recover much HP without a boost. Kangaskhan can be used late-game to sweep, when its checks and counters are worn down enough: use Power-Up Punch on the switch and proceed to click Return, Drain Punch, or Sucker Punch accordingly. Be careful of Sucker Punch mind games against faster threats that like to carry Substitute, Trick, or Will-O-Wisp, as these moves can put a stop to Kangaskhan's sweep. If running Fake Out over Power-Up Punch, be aware that Fake Out is relatively weak on this set due to the lack of a boosting item.

Team Options
========

Kangaskhan appreciates entry hazard support, which helps to wear down its checks and counters more quickly; Sticky Web is especially helpful, as it allows Kangaskhan to outspeed more threats. Pokemon such as Crustle and Garbodor are good for general hazard setup, while Kricketune is a good setter of Sticky Web. Spinblockers such as Rotom and Mismagius are also recommended when using entry hazards to prevent them from being removed; if using Sticky Web, a Pokemon such as Pawniard can be used to deter Defog users with Defiant. Clerics such as Granbull and Vileplume can cure Kangaskhan of burns or paralysis, while also being able to switch in to tank Fighting-type moves. Wallbreakers similar to Kangaskhan, such as Choice Band Sawk and Zangoose, are good teammates because they can help wear down similar walls and assist Kangaskhan in setting up a late-game sweep.

Other Options
########

Aqua Tail is a great alternative coverage move on Kangaskhan, as it can be used to lure in Rhydon, a common check, and 2HKO it. Fire Punch can be used to specifically hit Ferroseed; however, the coverage it provides is not too great, and there are other ways of dealing with Ferroseed. Hammer Arm can be used over Drain Punch as a more powerful Fighting-type move; however, it drops Kangaskhan's Speed and does not offer any recovery. Wish can be used on offensive Kangaskhan as a way to regain HP, though this requires your team to be able to deal with Rock- and Steel-type Pokemon that could hard wall Kangaskhan otherwise. Circle Throw can be used on a bulkier Kangaskhan set in conjunction with entry hazards as a way to quickly wear down opposing teams. A Substitute and Focus Punch set can be used to hit opposing Pokemon really hard. Facade can be used as Kangaskhan's STAB move if you are worried about getting statused.

Checks & Counters
########

**Garbodor**: Garbodor is a decent check to Kangaskhan, as Kangaskhan takes a lot of passive damage between Double-Edge recoil, Rocky Helmet, and, if KOing Garbodor with Double-Edge, Aftermath damage. Garbodor can also switch in on Fake Out, taking minimal damage from it and inflicting Rocky Helmet damage. Finally, the opponent can switch out and scout to see if Kangaskhan is running Earthquake or Drain Punch. If Drain Punch is being used, then Garbodor will force Kangakshan to use Double-Edge and damage it with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath.

**Status**: All status cripples Kangaskhan; Will-O-Wisp reduces Kangaskhan's Attack and is commonly carried by physical walls, Thunder Wave reduces Kangaskhan's Speed and makes it easier to revenge kill, and Toxic damage racks up fast with Double-Edge recoil.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Gourgeist-S and Weezing can take multiple hits from Kangaskhan and proceed to hit it with a status move such as Will-O-Wisp, recover off damage, or use utility moves such as Toxic Spikes and Leech Seed.

**Bulky Steel- and Rock-types**: Bulky Steel-type Pokemon such as Steelix and Metang and bulky Rock-types such as Regirock and Rhydon take minimal damage from Kangaskhan's STAB moves and can survive multiple hits from either Earthquake or Drain Punch. Regirock also can cripple Kangaskhan with Thunder Wave.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed gets a special mention as Iron Barbs and Leech Seed cause a lot of residual damage to Kangaskhan, and Earthquake and Drain Punch deal pitiful damage to Ferroseed. Ferroseed can also set up Spikes, while wearing Kangaskhan down and staying at good health by racking up extra Leech Seed recovery with Protect.

**Fighting-types**: Pokemon such as Poliwrath or Gurdurr can live any hit Kangaskhan can throw at them and retaliate with a STAB move; however, they can't directly switch into a hit from Kangaskhan as they risk getting 2HKOed with entry hazards up.

Overview
########
  • Dual priority in Fake Out and Sucker Punch, allows Kangaskhan to be a good revenge killer
  • Good overall Bulk allows Kangaskhan to take multiple hits if invested in bulk
  • Silk Scarf + STAB + Double Edge hits a lot of the tier for a 2HKO
  • Scrappy for unresisted neutral coverage
  • Unreliable recovery Drain Punch is weak, damage wracks up fast between Double-Edge recoil and Hazards
  • Has trouble getting past physical walls that resist Normal-type attacks

Moves
========

  • Fake Out gives Kangaskhan a good priority attack that flinches the opposing Pokemon on the first turn
  • Double-Edge is a powerful STAB that sacrifices HP for damage
  • Return is a good STAB move to be used for a bit less power, alternatively Frustration can be used in case of an opposing Ditto
  • Sucker Punch is a priority move that only hits when the opponent attacks
  • Earthquake gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type Pokemon
  • Drain Punch gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type Pokemon while regaining HP at the same time, however Drain Punch is pretty weak

Set Details
========

  • Silk Scarf boost Normal-type moves while not sacrificing health like Life Orb
  • Leftovers for increased longevity
  • Life Orb gives boosts to all of Kangaskhan's attacks, but decreases longevity
  • Adamant nature gives Kangaskhan an attack boost
  • Jolly nature increases Kangaskhan's speed
  • Scrappy lets Kangaskhan hit Ghost-Type Pokemon
  • 252 Attack and 252 Speed let Kangaskhan hit hard and outspeed other Pokemon
  • Alternatively a spread of 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe and an Adamant nature can give Kangaskhan increased bulk while still hitting hard, and 96 speed to outspeed fully invested base 70 speed Pokemon, base 60 + speed nature and uninvested base 100 speed Pokemon

Usage Tips
========
  • Kangaskhan is a fantastic revenge killer, bring it in on a weakened enemy and use its double priority to finish it off, first by hitting Fake Out then by hitting Sucker Punch
  • Fake Out is an obvious first move to go for when using Kangaskhan, some people will predict that and switch out right away, try to predict the switch and instead of going for Fake Out go for Double-Edge to get more damage on the switch-in and a possible 2HKO
  • Watch out for Ghost-types with Will-o-Wisp as they will use it predicting your Sucker Punch, instead either switch out, or go for Double-Edge, however if you know the opponent doesnt carry Will-o-Wisp go for Sucker Punch against their Ghost-type
  • Kangaskhan can be used as a mid game cleaner against slower teams, coming in and KOing weakened and slower Pokemon, its best to soften up its checks / counters early before attempting to clean. Against faster teams Kangaskhan should try and dent opposing teams mid game.

Team Options

  • Fighting resists such as Granbull and Vileplume make good teammates for Kangaskhan
  • Entry hazard Pokemon such as Crustle and Garbador limit switching and help Kangaskhan get more 2HKOs with Double-Edge, having spin blockers helps to prevent the removal of afore mentioned entry hazards and can also help fighting spam.
  • Healing Wish support from Mesprit is nice because it allows Kangaskhan to recover back to full from recoil damage of Double-Edge.
  • Similar wall-breakers such as Choice Banded Sawk or Zangoose are good because they can help wear down similar walls.

  • Return is a good STAB, alternatively Frustration can be used in case of an opposing Ditto
  • Drain Punch allows Kangaskhan to recover health and hit Steel- and Rock-types
  • Earthquake can be used over Drain Punch for more power, however the recovery is usually more beneficial on this set
  • Power-Up Punch is used to increase Kangaskhan's attack by one stage, is useful for sweeping late game
  • Fake Out can be used over Power-Up Punch for Dual Priority
  • Sucker Punch is used as a form of priority

Set Details
========
  • 160 HP lets Kangaskhan live an Eruption from full health and have a chance to live to Fire Blasts from Typhlosion while being able to survive two Fire Blasts from Life OrbPyroar, 252 Attack to maximize damage output while 96 is to outspeed max base 70s
  • Scrappy is used to hit Ghost-types
  • Assault Vest increases Kangaskhan's Special Defense
  • Alternatively a Max Speed Max Attack spread can be used to still pivot into special attackers while being able to check Sawk
Usage Tips
========

  • If running Fake Out over Power-up Punch that Kangaskhan can be used as revenge killer with dual priority.
  • Assault Vest Kangaskhan can be used as an offensive pivot, however be wary of switching in multiple times as Kangaskhan can be worn down fairly quickly
  • Kangaskhan can be used late game to get a late game sweep, when Kangaskhan's checks / counters are worn down enough Power-Up Punch once on the switch and proceed to click Return, Drain Punch, or Sucker Punch accordingly, be careful of Sucker Punch mind games against faster threats that like to carry Substitute, Trick, or Will-o-Wisp as these moves can put a stop to Kangaskhan's sweep

Team Options
========
  • Kangaskhan appreciates entry hazard support, especially Sticky Web, as hazards wear down checks and counters quicker and Sticky Web allows Kangaskhan to outspeed more threats. Pokemon such as Crustle and Garbador are good Pokemon for general hazards and Kricketune is a good setter of Sticky Web. Spin Blockers are also suggested when using entry hazards to prevent the removal of them.
  • Clerics such as Granbull or Vileplume are good partners as they can heal off burns or paralysis and they also resist Fighting-types
  • Similar wall-breakers such as Choice Banded Sawk or Zangoose are good because they can help wear down similar walls and help Kangaskhan setup a late game sweep.

Other Options
########

  • Aqua Tail
  • Fire Punch
  • Hammer Arm
  • Wish
  • Circle Throw
  • Sub Punch set

Checks & Counters
########

**Garbodor**: Garbodor is a decent check to Kangaskhan, as Kangaskhan takes a lot from recoil damage between Double-Edge recoil, Rocky Helmet, and if KOing Garbador with Double-Edge, Aftermath damage. Garbodor can also switch into Fake Out take minimal damage from it and give a bunch of recoil damage from Rocky Helmet, it can the switch out and scout to see if Kangaskhan is running Earthquake or if Drain Punch is being used then Garbodor will take Kangaskhan down with recoil.

**Status**: All status cripples Kangaskhan, Will-o-Wisp reduces Kangaskhan's attack commonly carried by physical walls, Thunder Wave reduces speed and makes it easier to revenge kill, and Toxic damage racks up fast with Double-Edge recoil.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Gourgeist or Weezing can take multiple hits from Kangaskhan and can hit it with a status such as Will-O-Wisp, recover off damage, or set up stuff such as Toxic Spikes and Leech Seed.

**Bulky Steel- and Rock-types**: Bulky Steel-type Pokemon such as Steelix and Metang take minimal damage from Kangaskhan's STAB and can survive multiple hits from either Earthquake or Drain Punch. Bulky Rock-types such as Regirock or Rhydon take take minimal damage from Kangaskhan's STAB and can survive multiple hits from either Earthquake or Drain Punch, Regirock also can cripple Kangaskhan with a Thunder Wave.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed gets a special mention as Iron Barbs causes a lot of damage to Kangaskhan along with Leech Seed, Earthquake is neutral and Drain Punch does pitiful damage to it, Ferroseed can also set up Spikes while wearing down Kangaskhan and staying at good health with extra recovery from Protect.

**Fighting-Types**: Pokemon such as Poliwrath or Gurdurr. Poliwrath and Gurdurr can live any hit Kangaskhan can throw at it and threaten back with a STAB move; however, they can not directly switch in on a hit from Kangaskhan as they risk getting 2HKOd with entry hazards.

I think SubPunch should only be in OO, being slow AND not having Fake Out kinda suck for kanga, and tbh Focus Punch isn't enough to make it good. now sure it can work, but i don't think its on the same level as its Fake Out sets

Yeah I was planning on removing it, am working my way down making changes and what not to Aenos OP. will finish it up when I'm not inebriated.

btw Wish doesn't need to be used only on bulky sets; I have made multiple teams where I just didn't need the 4th move on kanga, and wish can be a nice option. obviously you would need to have Rock- and Steel-types covered, but tbh if you have Spikes support kanga should be fine + if you do run wish, ur supposed to have them well covered anyway

also ik its just wip, but don't forget Aqua Tail in OO, rly nice to use with Rotom and Swellow as Kanga can easily lure Rhydon in. You do less to Carracosta/Kabutops though

I edited the Assault Vest Move set a bit, I removed EQ because Drain Punch and recovery is more important on a bulky set, I slashed Fake Out on the PuP, and I gave Sucker Punch its own slot. I am also unsure on the EV spread, does anyone else have a better spread than the one Aeno listed before? Also I have no clue what the current spread lets Kanga live

Moving this to QC, changed a lot and updated usage tips and some other stuff.

Still need a better spread for AV Kanga, or need to know what specifically the one Aeno was using.

just make your own spread, like take a Specs Typhlosion's Eruption after Stealth Rock idk. It needs to have some Speed tho. edit: iirc aeno's spread was to like, take two specs fire blast from pyroar and Typhlosion or something lol

I would also make Adamant the first slash on the first set, only times you want Jolly is if you are weak to Jolly Sawk / Jolly Kabutops / Adamant Zangoose / other Kangaskhan

Alright Soulgazer, I just used the above spread I mentioned on the regular kanga, it lets it survive a specs Eruption from full and have a chance to take two fire blasts, also takes two LO Fire Blasts from Pyroar. HP gives it overall bulk as well which is pretty nice and 92 speed gives it some speed so its not outsped by + nature base 60s and regular nature base 70s.

Also slashed Adamant first.

What's with the strikeout in the overview 0.0
Also, Rock Slide/Ice Punch in OO y/n?
The slash through is because someone would of probably commented saying Drain Punch is reliable recovery, which its really not, it only really gets HP back if it does more than 30%. Rock Slide and Ice Punch provide literally zero coverage over anything on the above sets. There is no reason to use them.

The alternate spread in Set Details of the first set should be 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe if you're aiming to outspeed base 70s. Same with AV, and I would also throw in a mention of a faster spread for the AV set if you need it to pivot into special attackers while still checking Sawk

Not sure if Kanga is that great of a cleaner in UT, it's not that fast so it really only comes in to revenge kill or punch holes mid-game with Double-Edge.

Wish support really shouldn't be necessary for the first set, it synergizes pretty poorly with Audino and teams using Kanga rarely have room for that anyway. You can mention Healing Wish Mesprit though

Hariyama and Sawk are pretty terrible checks to Kanga honestly. Silk Scarf Fake Out + Double-Edge literally outspeeds and 2HKOes both lol, Gurdurr is really the only Fighting-type that's particularly good at checking Kanga

Weezing can be lumped in with just generally bulky shit like Gourgeist and Tangela and renamed to just "Physical Walls"

Alright changes made Dat Blast, will explain how Poliwrath and Gurdurr are pretty soft checks to Kanga and I moved it to the bottom. Also I think it does decently at a cleaner as it has access to sucker to help mitigate its speed and is pretty fast against most of the meta, what should i change this point to?

I think generally it's just better off using Double-Edge to dent stuff mid-game since its Sucker Punch is better for RKing than cleaning (kinda lacks power when not backed by Fake Out). It can clean up slow teams I guess but a lot of things can do that :/

QC 2/3 otherwise

Alright ill change that point, to it can clean up slower teams and against fast teams it should try and dent stuff mid game.

Overview

Kangaskhan has a notable niche in being a dual priority revenge killer, with access to Fake Out and Sucker Punch allowing it to come in on weakened opponents and finish them off with a one-two hit combo. With good overall bulk, Kangaskhan can take multiple hits if invested. The combination of Silk Scarf, STAB, and Double-Edge means that Kangaskhan can 2HKO hit a lot of the tier for a 2HKO, and Scrappy means that Kangaskhan can hit Ghost-type Pokemon trying to switch in on a Normal- or Fighting-type move and means that grants Kangaskhan has unresisted neutral coverage. However, unreliable recovery means that damage racks up fast on Kangaskhan, between Double-Edge recoil, and hazards. Kangaskhan also has trouble muscling past physical walls that resist Normal-type attacks.

move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Earthquake / Drain Punch
ability: Scrappy
item: Silk Scarf / Leftovers
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========

Fake oOut gives Kangaskhan a good priority attack that flinches the opposing Pokemon on the first turn, letting it easily finish off weakened opponents. Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move that sacrifices HP for damage, putting big dents into teams. Return is a good STAB move to be used in the place of Double-Edge should you wish not to take recoil damage, at the cost of for a bit less some power,. aAlternatively, Frustration can be used in case of an opposing Ditto. Sucker Punch is a priority move that only hits when the opponent attacks, and it gives Kangaskhan nice dual priority in combination with Fake Out. Earthquake gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type Pokemon hard. Drain Punch also gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type Pokemon while regaining HP at the same time. hHowever, Drain Punch is pretty rather weak compared to Earthquake.

Set Details
========

Silk Scarf boosts Normal-type moves while not sacrificing HP like Life Orb. Leftovers is used for increased longevity; alternatively, Life Orb can be used, giving boosts to all of Kangaskhan's attacks, but it decreases its longevity. An Adamant nature gives Kangaskhan and aAttack boost, or a Jolly nature can be used which to increases Kangaskhan's sSpeed; however, the difference in power is noticeable. Scrappy lets Kangaskhan hit Ghost-type Pokemon with its STAB moves. A standard offenisive spread of maximum Attack and Speed lets Kangaskhan hit hard and outspeed other Pokemon; alternatively, a spread of 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe and an Adamant nature can give Kangaskhan increased bulk while still allowing it to hitting hard,. and Notably, 96 sSpeed enables Kangaskhan to outspeed fully invested base 70 speed Pokemon, postive-natured base 60 + speed nature and uninvested base 100 sSpeed Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Kangaskhan is a fantastic revenge killer, so you should bring it in on a weakened enemy and use its double priority to finish it off, first by hitting using Fake Out then by hitting them with Sucker Punch. Fake Out is an obvious first move to go for when using Kangaskhan,. sSome opponents will predict that and switch out right away,; try to predict the switch and instead of going for Fake Out, go for Double-Edge to get more damage on the switch-in and a possible 2HKO. Watch out for Ghost-types with Will-oO-Wisp as they will use it predicting your Sucker Punch,. iInstead, either switch out, or go for Double-Edge; however, if you know the opponent doesn't carry Will-oO-Wisp, go for Sucker Punch against their Ghost-type. Kangaskhan can be used as a mid-game cleaner against slower teams, coming in and KOing weakened and slower Pokemon,. iIt is best to soften up its checks and counters to it early in the game before attempting to clean. Against faster teams, Kangaskhan should try and dent opposing teams them mid-game by going for powerful Double-Edges.

Team Options
========

Fighting-type resists such as Granbull and Vileplume make good teammates for Kangaskhan, as they can switch into opposing Fighting-type Pokemon and take a relatively no small amount of damage. Entry hazard Pokemon setters such as Crustle and Garbaodor limit switching and help Kangaskhan get more 2HKOs with Double-Edge,. hHaving spinblockers (remove space between "spin" and "blockers") helps to prevent the removal of aforementioned entry hazards and can also help with the deterrring of the opponent from using Fighting-type moves being used. Healing Wish support from Mesprit is nice because it allows Kangaskhan to recover back to full from the recoil damage of Double-Edge, allowing it to punch holes in the opposing team multiple times in the opposing team. Similar wall-breakers ("wallbreakers" as opposed to "wall-breakers") such as Choice Banded Sawk or Zangoose are good because they can help wear down similar walls and open up holes sooner, allowing Kangaskhan to clean up or for another team member to sweep.

Moves

Return is Kanghaskhan's primary STAB move; alternatively, Frustration can be used in case of an opposing Ditto. Drain Punch allows Kangaskhan to recover health and hit Steel- and Rock-types,. aAfter Kangaskhan gets to +1 Attack, Drain Punch recovers a good amount of health;. aAlternatively, Earthquake can be used over Drain Punch for more power; however, the recovery is usually more beneficial on this set. Power-Up Punch is used to increase Kangaskhan's aAttack by one stage,; useful for sweeping late-game. Fake Out can be used over Power-Up Punch for Ddual priority, and Sucker Punch is used as a form of priority for attacking faster Pokemon.

Set Details
========

160 investement HP EVs lets Kangaskhan live an Eruption from full health and have a chance to live two Fire Blasts from Choice Specs Typhlosion while being able to survive two Fire Blasts from Life Orb Pyroar,. 252 Attack EVs invested in Attack to maximize damage output while 96 Speed EVs is allow Kanghaskan to outspeed max Speed base 70s. Scrappy is used to allow Kangaskhan to be able to hit Ghost-types with Return, Drain Punch and Power-Up Punch, and Assault Vest increases Kangaskhan's Special Defense. Alternatively, a Mmax Speed and Max Attack spread can be used to still pivot into special attackers while being able to check Sawk and other fast offensive Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

If running Fake Out over Power-up Punch so that Kangaskhan can be used as revenge killer with dual priority, be aware that Fake Out does not have the same power as the first set as Kangaskhan is not running Silk Scarf. Assault Vest Kangaskhan can be used as an offensive pivot against special attackers; however, be wary of switching in multiple times as Kangaskhan can be worn down fairly quickly and Drain Punch doesn't recover too much HP without being boosted. Kangaskhan can be used late-game to get a late-game sweep, when Kangaskhan'its checks and counters are worn down enough,. Power-Up Punch once on the switch and proceed to click Return, Drain Punch, or Sucker Punch accordingly,. bBe careful of Sucker Punch mind games against faster threats that like to carry Substitute, Trick, or Will-oO-Wisp, as these moves can put a stop to Kangaskhan's sweep.

Team Options
========

Kangaskhan appreciates entry hazard support, especially Sticky Web, as hazards wear down its checks and counters more quickerly, and Sticky Web allows Kangaskhan to outspeed more threats. Pokemon such as Crustle and Garbaodor are good Pokemon for general hazards setup, and Kricketune is a good setter of Sticky Web. Spinblockers such as Rotom or Mismagius are also suggested recommended when using entry hazards to prevent them from being removaled of them such as Rotom or Mismagius, and if using Sticky Web, then a Pokemon such as Pawniard can be used to deter Defog users with its ability, Defiant. Clerics such as Granbull or Vileplume are good partners as they can heal shrug off burns or paralysis and they also can switch in to tank resist Fighting-type moves. Similar wWall-breakers ("wallbreakers" as opposed to "wall-breakers") similar to Kangaskhan, such as Choice Banded Sawk or Zangoose are good teammates because they can help wear down similar walls and help assist Kangaskhan in setupting up a late-game sweep.

Other Options
########

Aqua Tail is a great other alternative option on Kangaskhan as it can be used to lure in Rhydon, a common check, and 2HKO it. Fire Punch can be used to specifically hit Ferroseed; however, the coverage it provides is not too great, and there are other ways of dealing with Ferroseed. Hammer Arm can be used over Drain Punch as a more powerful Fighting-type move (mention its drawbacks compared to Drain Punch, namely the Speed drop and lack of recovery). Wish can be used on offensive Kangaskhan as a way to regain HP, though this requires your team to be able to deal with Rock- and Steel-type Pokemon who that (Pokemon aren't people) could hard wall Kangaskhan otherwise. Circle Throw can be used on a bulkier Kangaskhan set in conjunction with entry hazards as a way to quickly wear down opposing teams. A Substitute + Focus Punch set can be used to hit opposing Pokemon really hard. Facade can be used as Kangaskhan's STAB if you are worried about getting statused.

Checks & Counters
########

**Garbodor**: Garbodor is a decent check to Kangaskhan, as Kangaskhan takes a lot from of recoil passive damage between Double-Edge recoil, Rocky Helmet, and if KOing Garbaodor with Double-Edge, Aftermath damage. Garbodor can also switch into Fake Out, take minimal damage from it and give a bunch of recoil damage from inflict damage with its Rocky Helmet,. Finally, it can predict (not entirely sure what word was meant to fill the gap here) the switch out and scout to see if Kangaskhan is running Earthquake or if Drain Punch. If Drain Punch is being used then Garbodor will be able to damage take Kangaskhan down with its recoil Rocky Helmet.

**Status**: All status cripples Kangaskhan,; Will-oO-Wisp reduces Kangaskhan's aAttack and is commonly carried by physical walls, Thunder Wave reduces Kangaskhan's sSpeed and makes it easier to revenge kill, and Toxic damage racks up fast with Double-Edge recoil.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Gourgeist-XL ("Gourgeist" just refers to normal size Gourgeist as opposed to all Gourgeist forms collectively, iirc) or and Weezing can take multiple hits from Kangaskhan and can hit it with a status move such as Will-O-Wisp, recover off damage, or set up stuff use utility options such as Toxic Spikes and Leech Seed.

**Bulky Steel- and Rock-types**: Bulky Steel-type Pokemon such as Steelix and Metang take minimal damage from Kangaskhan's STAB moves and can survive multiple hits from either Earthquake or Drain Punch. Bulky Rock-types such as Regirock or and Rhydon take take minimal damage from Kangaskhan's STAB and can survive multiple hits from either Earthquake or Drain Punch,. Regirock also can cripple Kangaskhan with a Thunder Wave.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed gets a special mention as Iron Barbs causes a lot of damage to Kangaskhan along with Leech Seed, Earthquake is does neutral damage, and Drain Punch does pitiful damage to it,. Ferroseed can also set up Spikes while wearing down Kangaskhan down and staying at good health with extra Leftovers recovery from granted by Protect.

**Fighting-Types**: Pokemon such as Poliwrath or Gurdurr. Poliwrath and Gurdurr can live any hit Kangaskhan can throw at it them and threaten back retaliate with a STAB move; however, they cannot ("cannot" as a opposed to "can not") directly switch in on a hit from Kangaskhan as they risk getting 2HKOed with entry hazards.

Overview
########

Kangaskhan has a notable niche in being as a dual priority revenge killer, with access to Fake Out and Sucker Punch allowing it to come in on weakened opponents and finish them off with a one-two hit combo. With good overall bulk, Kangaskhan can take multiple hits if invested. The combination of Silk Scarf-boosted, (RC) STAB, and Double-Edge means that allows Kangaskhan can to 2HKO a lot of the tier, and Scrappy means that allows Kangaskhan can to hit Ghost-type Pokemon trying to switch in on a Normal- or Fighting-type move and grants Kangaskhan unresisted neutral coverage. However, unreliable its lack of reliable recovery means that residual damage racks up fast on Kangaskhan, (RC) between Double-Edge, (RC) recoil (I assume you simply mean DE recoil here, considering there's no Life Orb set or anything), (RC) and entry hazards. Kangaskhan also has trouble muscling past physical walls that resist Normal-type attacks.

move 3: Sucker Punch
move 4: Earthquake / Drain Punch
ability: Scrappy
item: Silk Scarf / Leftovers
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant / Jolly

Moves
========

Fake Out gives Kangaskhan a good priority attack that flinches the opposing Pokemon on the first turn, letting it easily finish off weakened opponents. Double-Edge is a powerful STAB move that sacrifices HP for damage, putting puts (the recoil is given too much emphasis and the wording is a bit awkward; the recoil part is covered in the next sentence anyway) big dents into teams. Return is a good slightly weaker STAB move to be used in the place of Double-Edge should you wish not to take recoil damage, at the cost of some power. Alternatively, Frustration can be used in case of an opposing Ditto. (this is assumed to be standard and doesn't need to be mentioned, akin to using 0 Atk IVs on special attackers) Sucker Punch is a priority move that only hits when the opponent attacks, and it gives Kangaskhan nice dual priority in combination of with Fake Out. Earthquake gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type Pokemon hard. Drain Punch also gives Kangaskhan good coverage, hitting Steel- and Rock-type on these Pokemon, (AC) while regaining HP at the same time; (SC) however, (AC) Drain Punch is rather weak compared to Earthquake.

Set Details
========

Silk Scarf boosts Normal-type moves while not sacrificing HP like Life Orb. Leftovers is can be (alternate option and should be worded as such) used for increased longevity; alternatively, Life Orb can be used, giving boosts to boosting all of Kangaskhan's attacks, (RC) but decreases decreasing (wording consistency) its longevity. An Adamant nature gives Kangaskhan an Attack boost. (full stop) or Alternatively, a Jolly nature can be used to increase Kangaskhan's Speed; however, the difference in power is noticeable. Scrappy lets Kangaskhan hit Ghost-type Pokemon with its STAB moves. A standard offensive spread of maximum Attack and Speed lets Kangaskhan hit hard and outspeed other Pokemon; alternatively, a spread of 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe and an Adamant nature can gives Kangaskhan increased bulk while still allowing it to hit hard. Notably, 96 Speed EVs enables Kangaskhan to outspeed fully invested base 70 Speed Pokemon, positive-natured base 60, (AC) and uninvested base 100 Speed Pokemon. (name a few relevant examples)

Usage Tips
========

Kangaskhan is a fantastic revenge killer, so you should bring it in on a weakened enemy and use its double priority to finish it off, first by using Fake Out then by hitting them with Sucker Punch. Fake Out is an obvious first move to go for when using Kangaskhan. Some opponents will predict that the obvious Fake Out and switch out right away: (colon) try to predict the switch and instead of going for Fake Out go for Double-Edge instead to get more damage on the switch-in and a possible possibly 2HKO it. Watch out for Ghost-types with Will-O-Wisp, (AC) as they will use it when predicting your Sucker Punch. Instead, either switch out, or go for Double-Edge; however, if you know the opponent doesnt carry Will-O-Wisp, go for Sucker Punch against their Ghost-type (goes without saying because the usage tip was related to WoW ghosts in the first place). Kangaskhan can be used as a mid-game (add dash) cleaner against slower teams, coming in and KOing weakened and slower Pokemon. It is best to soften up its checks and counters early in the game before attempting to clean. Against faster teams Kangaskhan should try and denting them mid-game by going for powerful with Double-Edges.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that resist Fighting-type resists moves such as Granbull and Vileplume make good teammates for Kangaskhan, as they can switch into opposing Fighting-type Pokemon and take a relatively small amount of damage. Entry hazard setters such as Crustle and Garbodor limit punish switching and help Kangaskhan get more 2HKOs with Double-Edge. Having Spinblockers helps to prevent the removal of aforementioned entry hazards and can also help deter the opponent from using Fighting-type moves. Healing Wish support from Mesprit is nice because it allows Kangaskhan to recover back to full from the recoil damage of Double-Edge, allowing it to punch holes multiple times in the opposing team multiple times. Similar Wallbreakers similar to Kangaskhan (clarification), (AC)such as Choice Band Sawk or and Zangoose, (AC) are good because they can help wear down similar walls and open up holes sooner, (AC) allowing Kangaskhan to clean up or for another team member to sweep.

nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Return is Kangaskhan's primary STAB move; alternatively, Frustration can be used in case of an opposing Ditto. Drain Punch allows Kangaskhan to recover health and hit Steel- and Rock-types. After Kangaskhan gets to +1 a boost, Drain Punch recovers a good amount of health. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used over Drain Punch for more power; however, the recovery is usually more beneficial on this set. Power-Up Punch is used to increase Kangaskhan's Attack by one stage, (comma) which is useful for sweeping late-game. Sucker Punch provides Kangaskhan with a form of priority. (moved this here because it's a tad strange to state that Fake Out provides Khan with double priority when you haven't mentioned the first form of priority yet) Fake Out can be used over Power-Up Punch for dual priority, and Sucker Punch is used as a form of priority for attacking faster Pokemon.

Set Details
========

160 HP EVs let Kangaskhan live an Eruption from Choice Specs Typhlosion from full health and have a chance to live two of its Fire Blasts from Choice Specs Typhlosion, (AC) (I didn't understand this part very well, so make sure I haven't inadvertently butchered the content :<) while being able to survive two Fire Blasts from Life Orb Pyroar. 252 Attack EVs maximize damage output, (AC) while 96 Speed EVs allow Kangaskhan to outspeed max Speed base 70s (such as?). Scrappy is used to allow Kangaskhan to hit Ghost-types with Return, Drain Punch, and Power-Up Punch all of its moves, and Assault Vest increases Kangaskhan's Special Defense. Alternatively, a maximum Speed and Attack spread can be used to still pivot into special attackers while being able to check Sawk and other fast offensive Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

If running Fake Out over Power-Up Punch so that Kangaskhan can be used as revenge killer with dual priority, be aware that Fake Out does not have the same power as the first set as Kangaskhan is not running Silk Scarf. Assault Vest Kangaskhan can be used as an offensive pivot against special attackers; however, be wary of switching in multiple times, (AC) as Kangaskhan can be worn down fairly quickly and Drain Punch doesn't recover to much HP without being a boosted. Kangaskhan can be used late-game (add dash) to get a late game sweep, when its checks and counters are worn down enough: (colon) use Power-Up Punch once (redundant with following) on the switch and proceed to click Return, Drain Punch, or Sucker Punch accordingly. Be careful of Sucker Punch mind games against faster threats that like to carry Substitute, Trick, or Will-O-Wisp, (AC) as these moves can put a stop to Kangaskhan's sweep. If running Fake Out over Power-Up Punch, be aware that Fake Out is relatively weak on this set due to the lack of a boosting item. (moved this here because it's a tad strange to open with a usage tip related to a move that doesn't even have a main slash. Also, cross-set referencing isn't allowed)

Team Options
========

Kangaskhan appreciates entry hazard support, especially Sticky Web, (shuffled this around a bit because Sticky Web doesn't wear down enemies) as hazards these wear down its checks and counters more quickly; (SC) and Sticky Web is especially helpful, as it allows Kangaskhan to outspeed more threats. Pokemon such as Crustle and Garbodor are good for general hazard setup, and while Kricketune is a good setter of Sticky Web. Spinblockers such as Rotom and Mismagius are also recommended when using entry hazards to prevent them from being removed; (SC) and if using Sticky Web, a Pokemon such as Pawniard can be used to deter Defog users with its ability, Defiant. Clerics such as Granbull or Vileplume are good partners as they can shrug off cure Kangaskhan of (I assumed this was what you meant) burns or paralysis, (AC) and they while also being able to can switch in to tank Fighting-type moves. Wallbreakers similar to Kangaskhan, such as Choice Band Sawk or and Zangoose, (AC) are good teammates because they can help wear down similar walls and assist Kangaskhan in setting up a late-game sweep.

Other Options
########

Aqua Tail is a great alternative option coverage move (clarification) on Kangaskhan, (AC) as it can be used to lure in Rhydon, a common check, and 2HKO it. Fire Punch can be used to specifically hit Ferroseed; however, the coverage it provides is not too great, and there are other ways of dealing with Ferroseed. Hammer Arm can be used over Drain Punch as a more powerful Fighting-type move; however, it drops Kangaskhan's Speed one stage after every use and does not offer any recovery.

########

**Garbodor**: Garbodor is a decent check to Kangaskhan, as Kangaskhan takes a lot of passive damage between Double-Edge recoil, Rocky Helmet, and, (AC) if KOing Garbodor with Double-Edge, Aftermath damage. Garbodor can also switch into on Fake Out, (AC) take taking minimal damage from it and inflicting Rocky Helmet damage with its Rocky Helmet. Finally, the opponent can switch out and scout to see if Kangaskhan is running Earthquake or Drain Punch. If Drain Punch is being used, (AC) then Garbodor will damage Kangaskhan with its Rocky Helmet and Aftermath.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Gourgeist-S and Weezing can take multiple hits from Kangaskhan and can hit it with a status move such as Will-O-Wisp, recover off damage, or use utility options moves such as Toxic Spikes and Leech Seed.

Bulky Rock-types such as Regirock and Rhydon take minimal damage from Kangaskhan's STAB and can survive multiple hits from either Earthquake or Drain Punch. Regirock also can cripple Kangaskhan with a Thunder Wave.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed gets a special mention, (AC) as Iron Barbs and Leech Seed causes a lot of residual damage to Kangaskhan along with Leech Seed, (RC) Earthquake does neutral damage, and Earthquake and (condensed them into one because it was a tad misleading: Earthquake is actually weaker than Drain Punch and dealing neutral damage isn't inherently bad, so it made more sense to put them together) Drain Punch does deal pitiful damage to it. Ferroseed can also set up Spikes, (AC) while wearing Kangaskhan down and staying at good health with by racking up extra Leech Seed recovery granted by with Protect.

**Fighting-Types**: Pokemon such as Poliwrath or Gurdurr can live any hit Kangaskhan can throw at them and retaliate with a STAB move; however, they can't directly switch in on a hit from Kangaskhan, (AC) as they risk getting 2HKOed with entry hazards.

Kangaskhan is a fantastic revenge killer, so you should bring it in on a weakened enemy and use its double priority moves to finish it the opponent off. Against faster teams Kangaskhan should try denting them opposing Pokemon mid-game with Double-Edge.

Team Options

Pokemon that resist Fighting-type moves, (comma) such as Granbull and Vileplume, (comma) make good teammates for Kangaskhan, as they can switch into opposing Fighting-type Pokemon and take a relatively small amount of damage. Wallbreakers similar to Kangaskhan, such as Choice Band Sawk and Zangoose, can help wear down similar walls and open up holes sooner, allowing Kangaskhan to clean up or another team member to sweep.

nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Return is Kangaskhan's primary STAB move. Drain Punch allows Kangaskhan to recover health and hit Steel- and Rock-types. After a boost, Drain Punch recovers a good amount of health. Alternatively, Earthquake can be used over Drain Punch for more power; however, the recovery is usually more beneficial on this set. Power-Up Punch is used to increase Kangaskhan's Attack by one stage, which is useful for sweeping late-game. Sucker Punch provides Kangaskhan with a form of priority. Fake Out can be used over Power-Up Punch for dual priority.

Set Details
========

160 HP EVs let Kangaskhan live an Eruption from Choice Specs Typhlosion and have a chance to live two of its Fire Blasts, while being able to survive two Fire Blasts from Life Orb Pyroar. 252 Attack EVs maximize damage output, while 96 Speed EVs allow Kangaskhan to outspeed max Speed base 70 Speed Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

========

Kangaskhan appreciates entry hazard support, as these which helps to wear down its checks and counters more quickly; Sticky Web is especially helpful, as it allows Kangaskhan to outspeed more threats. Clerics such as Granbull or and Vileplume can cure Kangaskhan of burns or paralysis, while also being able to switch in to tank Fighting-type moves.

Garbodor can also switch in on Fake Out, (comma) taking minimal damage from it and inflicting Rocky Helmet damage.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Gourgeist-S and Weezing can take multiple hits from Kangaskhan and can proceed to hit it with a status move such as Will-O-Wisp, recover off damage, or use utility moves such as Toxic Spikes and Leech Seed.

Regirock also can cripple Kangaskhan with a Thunder Wave.

**Ferroseed**: Ferroseed gets a special mention as Iron Barbs and Leech Seed cause a lot of residual damage to Kangaskhan, (comma) and Earthquake and Drain Punch deal pitiful damage to Ferroseed it. Ferroseed can also set up Spikes, while wearing Kangaskhan down and staying at good health by racking up extra Leech Seed recovery with Protect.

**Fighting-types**: Pokemon such as Poliwrath or Gurdurr can live any hit Kangaskhan can throw at them and retaliate with a STAB move; however, they can't directly switch into on a hit from Kangaskhan as they risk getting 2HKOed with entry hazards up.
