Kaxtar vs. BZ in the ASB Arena (ref: TravelLog)

Welcome one and all to the battle of the century, a no-holds-barred 4v4 singles between Kaxtar and BlazekinMasterZeo. Let's check out the arena and the rules folks.

The rules:
Number of Pokemon: 4 v. 4
Battle Type: Singles
Recoveries: 5 chills, 0 recovers
Switches: Think again, no chance
Items: None
Abilities: One
1 DAY DQ LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

Surrounded by thousands of screaming Pokemon fans, the ASB Arena can be best described as a standard Pokemon battling arena. In the center of the arena lies a dirt-based floor outlined to show two separate sides (with a white Pokeball center). Surrounding the dirt is a moat filled with water. The moat is about fifteen feet wide and creates a perimeter around the dirt arena. The arena itself is eighty feet wide, one hundred feet long. All moves, weathers, and abilities are legal for the match, since it's an outdoor arena with a large water source and packed dirt. Pokemon must stay in the arena (or the dimensions of the arena in the case of Flying Pokemon, who cannot leave the arena and cannot fly higher than sixty feet). This prevents Pokemon from injuring the crowd watching the tournament. There are no outside interruptions by fans, Pokemon, or other elements not associated with the current battle.

Round One

After sending out their pokemon, both trainers square off, determined to win. Taking the initiative, Gible quickly launches a blistering Sandstorm, stinging the audience's eyes with dust. What's this?! It looks like the sandstorm (10 energy) just made Gible much more agile and capable of dodging attacks. In response, Slowpoke slowly opens its mouth, creating hundreds of thousands of ice crystals which congeal to form a crackling ball of frozen energy. Laughing, he fires off an Ice Beam (7 energy). But amazingly, the Gible dodges the attack completely!

Taking advantage of the moment, Gible digs his claws into the sand and launches some sand in an attack (3 energy), right at Slowpoke's face! That stuff's gonna make it much harder to aim correctly! It's gonna be hard to hit Gible now, that's for sure. Still, frustrated at the lack of action, Slowpoke let's a nice big yawn (7 energy). It's contagious! Gible seems to be yawning as well, it's definitely drowsy!

Still, the Gible is awake for now, and boy is it mad! So mad in fact, that it's outraged (8 energy) and will stay that way until it falls asleep. The outrage hits Slowpoke head on! That's gotta hurt! Still, Slowpoke puts all its anger into one more Ice Beam (7 energy), which hits this time!

Well, both competitors are a little banged up, and with Gible sleepy while Slowpoke is having trouble aiming, this battle is up in the air!

There you have it guys. Bz, your actions please.

quick note: I think I got everything right, the one issue might be how long after yawn you fall asleep (i RNG'd and you got intense sleep btw, sorry)

umm, I think you made a mistake. How did outrage do 24 Damage to slowpoke? According to my calcs, it should do 12+3+(3-3)*1.5=15 damage, not 24.

I got 19.5 damage from the calculator. I think the extra 4.5 damage came from the fact that you have an offensive nature boost.

Oh, I see that slowpoke starts with 100 HP, not 90. I'll fix that.

edit: fixed. and i had it at 70 hp, so 90-70=20 (not 24). Now it is at 80HP following the starting HP fix.

Ice Beam~Scald~Ice Beam

That still wouldn't be 4.5 extra damage. If he's at Rank 4 Attack, which is not what it says in the OP, then its 12+3+(4-3)*1.5=16.5, again not 19.5.

Round Two: Nap Time?

Still angry from the last round, Gible rushes toward Slowpoke with a furious Outrage (8 energy), smashing into Slowpoke and doing a good bit of damage. Exhausted from all his hard work, Gible falls into an intense sleep. Slowpoke, having been thrown back a few feet by the outrage, and now ready to launch an assault of his own, smiles at the peacefully napping Gible, waves toward the audience then gathers a giant beam of ice (7 energy), mercilessly shooting it at the sleeping dragon, doing some serious damage.

Gible thrashes around in its sleep, discomforted by the attack, but not awakened by it. Taking another opportunity, Slowpoke uses the water from the nearby moat and heats it up using some sort of crazy magic. The water is scalding (6 energy) now! It hits Gible square in the face, doing respectable damage.

It looks like Gible can't stand too much more damage, so Slowpoke decides to close it out with another Ice Beam (7 energy). It strikes (if only Gible had been awake it might have missed!) and does enough damage to knock the little dragon out.

Round Three: Go Fish

BZ, swearing to avenge his fallen friend, tosses out a new pokemon: a Feebas! It's a little prettier than other Feebas, but still got great looking. Still, it's a speedy little thing, so it gets immediately to work and launches off a disgusting Toxic (7 energy) that hits Slowpoke square on, leaving him badly poisoned. That'll definitely get worse if something isn't done about it. Very annoyed by this, Slowpoke shows his disdain for the little Feebas with a big, exaggerated Yawn (7 energy), making it a little bit drowsy.

Fighting through it's sleepiness, Feebas charges up a bunch of the ice particles in the air leftover from Slowpoke's early attacks and launches an Ice Beam (7 energy). Unfortunately, due to typing, the beam barely does any damage. Miraculously however, it actually manages to freeze Slowpoke's chest and left arm! Wow, the spectators are a little stunned by that one! Still, it doesn't prevent it from using it's psychic prowess to get a Sight of the Future (7 energy). That might do something weird next round!?

What's this, Feebas is dozing lightly in the middle of the battle! Noticing this, Slowpoke wants to shake things up by launching a blast of psychic energy at Feebas to inflict some Confusion (3 energy). Unfortunately, Feebas is in a light sleep and the attack hits him right on!

BZ, your actions.

From the SotG thread:

Attack Substitution:
For each of their Pokemon, a Player acting first may create a substitution based on one specific Attack or Command the opponent can issue and substitute their called actions. This conditional can only be triggered by one of the opponent's actions, however it may apply to multiple consecutive actions for the trainer's Pokemon in that round.
Therefore, your substitution is not legal because it is not targeting only one specific move, and would therefore fail. With this in mind...

Round Four: Thinking Ahead

Back to action folks! Feebas, wanting to get some damage in this round, somehow manages to channel his inner dragon and unleashes some dragonbreath (5 energy), dealing Slowpoke a little bit of damage. Slowpoke, for his part, doesn't seem to really care and just chills (+12 energy) this round. Ouch, that's got to be insulting for the little fish! Unfortunately for him, a time warp opens up and deals a good bit of damage! I know, it was the Future Sight from last round. The crowd is going wild here at this display of deviousness!

Feebas is so mad, in fact, at being embarrass that he literally throws himself at Slowpoke in a fierce tackle (3 energy). Still, it doesn't do very much damage to Slowpoke, who's still sitting pretty. Slowpoke, bothered by the assault, launches a mass of mental power at Feebas in a Confusion (3 energy). It doesn't confuse Feebas, but it does do some real damage.

Feebas is getting on the ropes here and tries another Dragonbreath (5 energy). Sadly, its no more effective than the first one. Slowpoke, enjoying the battle, decides to heat things up with some scalding water (6 energy). It's so hot that it actually burns the poor little Feebas while simultaneously melting the ice still stuck to Slowpoke! Luckily for Feebas however, the poison in Slowpoke's body has been steadily inflicting some damage. Slowpoke isn't looking too good at all.

Round Five: Deflected!

It looks like both participants want to get a new opponent as soon as possible, so they're pulling out all the stops. Feebas opens the round by tossing a dragon breath (5 energy) Slowpoke's way for a little damage. Slowpoke, getting weaker by the minute, opens up another time warp hoping to use the Future Sight to good effect. Each pokemon ends up feeling the pain of their status condition as well.

This time around, Feebas goes for another tackle (3 energy), unfortunately due to his burn it does almost zero damage. Laughing at the burned Feebas, Slowpoke launches a respectably painful Confusion (3 energy) at the fish.

Feebas has started to wise up to Slowpoke's tricks this time around though, so when Slowpoke tries to launch another Confusion (3 energy) his way, Feebas reflects it right back at him with a well-timed Mirror Coat (10 energy), doing EXACTLY enough damage to knock Slowpoke unconscious. What will Kaxtar's play be now!? The audience is going insane waiting to find out!
