Another challenge!

1v1 Singles
1 Day DQ for battlers, 2 day DQ for ref
0 Recoveries / Chills
Items ON (See end of arena description)
Arena: Mystic Forest, the same one that will become my gym arena!
-The battle takes place in a clearing that is circular with a 50 foot diameter
-Weathers can be used outside
-The forest trees are impenetrable, and no pokemon can push beyond them
-This forest is called the Mystic Forest for a reason- the Musketeer Quartet lives here, and at the end of the round, each pokemon has a 40% chance of being attacked by one of the legendary pokemon
-Each member of the Quartet has an equal chance of appearing (10% for each of them)
-Terakion (***** Attack) will use Rock Slide (8 Base Power, Physical, STAB)
-Virizion (*** Special Attack) will use Giga Drain (8 Base Power, Special, STAB)
-Cobalion (*** Attack) will use Iron Head (8 Base Power, Physical, STAB)
-Keldeo (***** Special Attack) will use BubbleBeam (7 Base Power, Special, STAB, 10% chance to lower the target's speed)
Also, because this is supposed to be a test battle for my gym, both pokemon are issued a black belt for the battle, as they would be in my gym. But because they are holding a black belt, no other items can be used.

Kaxtar decides to bring only one pokemon:

[PIMG]286[/PIMG]
Breloom [Emerald] (Male)
Nature: Impish (+1 to Defense, -1 to Special Attack)

Grass: Grass STAB; Immunity to Leech Seed; Growth, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Nature Power, Sunny Day, Sweet Scent, and Swords Dance have have Energy Cost reduced by one (1).

Fighting: Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions of throwing/grappling moves. Superior reaction time in close quarters.

Poison Heal: (Innate) Pokemon with this ability have internal structures that absorb the toxins in poison and uses them to recover two (2) HP/action instead of taking poison damage. Their Toxic counter will still go up should their ability be disabled.

Effect Spore: (Can be Disabled) This Pokemon has a stockpile of defensive spores which it releases on opponents who strike with contact attacks. There is a 10% chance each of poison, paralysis, and sleep. When disabled, the Pokemon's Powder attacks are 10% more accurate.

Technician (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).

Kaxtar auto-sends out his pokemon. shadowbone66, pick your pokemon and give orders. Then Kaxtar gives orders and I do reffing stuff.

Banned deucer.
Gee, I have NO CLUE who to send out. Flik, showtime! Let's Hustle for the win!

Start out with your old tricks - Sharpen those Claws of yours. Then Hustle and X-Scissor him! Finally, smack him with a Wave of Thunder. If he tries to Spore you, however, Dig away and smack him from underneath!

Summary: Claw Sharpen -> Hustle X-Scissor -> Thunder Wave
(Substitute any and all actions with Dig if Spore is used)

On a side note, if I (somehow) win, will it count as if I had defeated the gym?

Begin with a 18 HP Substitute (or however much health it takes to have the sub survive that x-scissor; according to my calculations, it should be 18). Then, use Poison Powder on yourself to activate Poison Heal. End this round with a Leech Seed. Also, Breloom is using Poison Heal as its ability.

shadowbone66, since this is a battle to test the gym, there is a chance that the arena will be modified before the gym is officially up, so you winning here will not count as beating the gym.

So here we are in Mystic Forest. Flik the Durant faces Emerald the Breloom here today, and Flik begins by Honing his Claws while Emerald taps into her own vitality to make a Substitute Breloom. It looks kinda cute actually, but Flik doesn't think so and he X-Scissors the substitute, trying to slash it to pieces. However, it barely hangs in there and, elsewhere, Emerald covers herself in a Poisonous Powder. Flik then makes some sparks and paralyses the substitute with a Thunder Wave. Too bad the real Emerald is still nimble as ever and is able to fire some special Leech Seeds that land on the Durant's back and prepare to drain him of his strength.

Flik might be facing a monster that can regenerate, but he has the advantage of speed, and he knows it. He seizes the initiative and Digs into the ground just in time to avoid an incoming Drain Punch from Emerald. As the ant scurries around underground, trying to find where Emerald is, the Breloom picks up the tattered doll from earlier and throws it at one of the trees. It bounces and lands just beside the tree when suddenly Flik emerges from underground and rips the doll to shreds! Upon realising that it's not the real Emerald, Flik turns around and Screeches loudly at the Breloom, but Emerald mocks him by doing a Swords Dance. Infuriated, Flik rushes towards Emerald, but before Emerald can land an extra powerful Drain Punch, the iron ant Digs underground again, but this time pops up immediately, knowing full well that the real Emerald is right there, and bites into his leg. All the while, however, his vitality was being drained by the seeds on his back and the Breloom has ended up looking fitter than before.

I know it lowers defense...I just worded it poorly.

Hmmm...if I were an ass, I would play it safe and spam Dig. But I'm not an ass. So Flik, use X-Scissor! Then use a Sand-Attack to keep a bit of pressure off of us. Finish with another X-Scissor.

Flik continues the assault by slashing his claws to make another X-Scissor. Emerald is hurt quite badly by this but manages to find the energy to make another Substitute. He distracts Flik with this and the Durant kicks up sand to try and Sand-Attack it. The real Emerald, completely unaffected by this, Punches Flik and Drains his health. That hit so hard that I'd have to call that a critical hit! Annoyed, Flik X-Scissors the substitute, this time having no problem ripping it apart completely in one hit. But suddenly Spores start coming out of Emerald's head and the Durant soon finds himself forced to inhale them, sending him into a deep sleep.

Well there are rumors that the Musketeer Quartet resides here but I haven't seen any of them yet.

Emerald the Breloom decides to take advantage of the Durant's nap, but despite his best efforts to launch Stun Spores and Leech Seeds at him, Flik is not hit by anything while he's asleep! Do Durant have some sort of shield that protects them while they're asleep? Suddenly, Flik wakes up and kicks up some sand into Emerald's eyes. This Sand-Attack is only going to make it even harder for the Breloom to hit, but somehow he lands a Drain Punch on his target. This restores his vitality somewhat, but does nothing for his energy level. Wait a second ... is Emerald OK? Oh my goodness, he just collapsed! He must have run out of energy. Well, in a startling turn of events, Flik the Durant has won!

Well this is quite the turnabout. It just goes to show how you need to keep an eye on your energy as well as your HP (though I probably could have made it more obvious that Breloom was running out). Also a shame that the legendaries never showed up. RNG doesn't like them it seems.

Emerald the Breloom gets 2 MC and 1 DC
Flik the Durant gets 2 MC, 1 DC and 1 KOC
