Ketchum Cup - Round 2

Ketchum Cup

You've all seen them on the ladder: Ash teams. No matter what tier you're playing, some poor schmuck will be running Pikachu, Charizard, Greninja, or whatever. Rarely do they have competitive movesets, many don't have items, hell, some of them don't even bother to give them EVs. You have a laugh at their expense, take your Elo boost, and move on. But sometimes you think, "I could show this guy how to build a real Ash team."

Well, that's where the Ketchum Cup comes in. In the Ketchum Cup, all Pokemon used must be an "Ashmon". For the purposes of this tournament, an Ashmon is any Pokemon that satisfies at least one of the following:
  • Any Pokemon that Ash Ketchum has owned at any point in the (Japanese) anime, including those he has captured and then released, traded away, given away, etc.
  • Any Pokemon related by evolution to the above, even if Ash hasn't actually owned one (e.g., Raichu)
  • Any alternate forms of the above (includes megas, Ash-Greninja, Alola forms, etc.)
  • Additionally, all Ashmons must be obtainable in Sun and Moon. Events count.

For the purposes of the Ketchum Cup, Pokemon that Ash has borrowed, taken care of temporarily, etc., are not considered Ashmons, and are therefore not eligible. For example, Ash briefly traveled with a Haunter and used it to obtain a badge from Sabrina, then gave it to her, but he never actually owned it, so it isn't an Ashmon (and, by extension, Gastly and Gengar are not Ashmons, either).

A list of Ashmons, with reasoning for their inclusion if it is not obvious, is included below. I got this list here.

Pikachu and family (includes Alolan Raichu and Pikachu in a cap, but not Cosplay Pikachu, as it is unobtainable in Sun and Moon)

If there are any changes to the list, they will go into effect during the next round. if you are not sure why a certain Pokemon was not included, ask me, preferably in this thread.

Rules: (tl;dr read the bold stuff)
  • Tournament Rules and General Guidelines
  • Battles are SM OU rules unless otherwise noted, best of one.
  • All Pokemon used in the tournament must be Ashmons, as outlined above.
  • Anything legal in SM is fair game (Mega Stones, Z-Crystals, etc.) as long as it follows the other rules.
  • Battles should preferably take place on PS, although PO is fine by me if both players agree.
  • Replays and/or logs are not required, but they are encouraged so a) we can see your creativity when it comes to making Ash teams and b) so I can make sure you're following the rules.
  • This is a Type B tournament. Smogon Championship points are below.

Astoria has been granted the activity win over Hayburner for R1 and will be playing blazenix in R2.

Also, as you may know, OU has banned Baton Pass, but it will be allowed for the rest of R2 and then banned for R3 (this is typical of tournaments, if you're unaware). If you want to use it, play in Ubers, or if you and your opponent agree to not use it, go right ahead.

The Hoenn starter mega stones have been released, so, as always, they are not legal until next round. Of course, the only one allowed in this tour is Sceptilite.

Sceptilite will be legal starting R3. The OP has been updated to include this.
