Kyurem-B
QC: 3/3 (Bluwing, ben gay, TheEnder)
GP: 2/2 (P Squared, The Dutch Plumberjack)

[OVERVIEW]

Upon looking at Kyurem-B's monstrous Attack stat and its solid stats overall, you can tell right away that it's an offensive powerhouse in the OU tier. Boasting the game's most powerful Outrage, a solid Special Attack stat, and a great STAB type in Ice, it has almost no switch-ins and can break down even the bulkiest of walls. Despite being Ice-type, Kyurem-B is no slouch defensively; well-rounded bulk and resistances to the common Electric- and Water-type attacks give it plenty of opportunities to enter the battlefield. Whether Kyurem-B is breaking down walls, revenge killing, or even stallbreaking with Substitute, its versatility means that can fit onto nearly any offensive team and perform well.

On the downside, Kyurem-B must always run a mixed set due to its lack of any usable physical Ice-type STAB moves. While Kyurem-B's defensive typing grants it some decent resistances, it also gives Kyurem-B nasty weaknesses to Fighting-, Fairy-, and Rock-type attacks, all of which are highly prevalent in OU. Lastly, base 95 Speed is not very good, as it leaves Kyurem-B outsped by a wide variety of threats, such as Mega Gardevoir, Hydreigon, and Keldeo.

[SET]
name: Mixed Wallbreaker
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Roost / Outrage
item: Life Orb
ability: Teravolt
nature: Mild
evs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe

[SET DETAILS]
Moves
========

Ice Beam is a strong, reliable STAB attack that hits the Dragon-, Ground-, and Flying-types of OU hard. Earth Power provides coverage against the Steel- and Fire-types that resist Ice Beam, such as Heatran, Bisharp, Jirachi, and Victini. Fusion Bolt puts a dent in Water-types such as Azumarill, Mega Slowbro, and Manaphy and deals heavy damage to Flying-types that are not weak to Ice, such as Talonflame and Skarmory. Roost heals off Life Orb recoil; Kyurem-B is bulky enough to get several chances to use Roost in most games. Alternatively, Outrage is Kyurem-B's most powerful STAB attack and puts a dent in even the bulkiest of physical walls.

Dragon Claw can also be used in the fourth slot as a STAB attack that does not lock Kyurem-B into a move, though Dragon Claw is noticeably less powerful than Outrage. Hidden Power Fire helps this set act as a lure to Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, though it has limited use outside of that. Iron Head is another viable option to hit Fairy-types hard, such as Clefable and Gardevoir before it Mega Evolves.

Set Details
========

236 Speed EVs and a Mild nature allow Kyurem-B to outspeed fully invested, positive-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon and Adamant Mega Garchomp. Full investment in Special Attack raises the power of Ice Beam and Earth Power to maximum levels, while the remaining EVs are dumped into Attack to increase the damage output of Kyurem-B's physical attacks. Life Orb is the preferred item to make Kyurem-B's attacks hit as hard as possible. Teravolt is useful for breaking through several defensive abilities, such as Dragonite's Multiscale and Rotom-W's Levitate.

Usage Tips
========

Kyurem-B should be used in the early- and mid-game as a dedicated wallbreaker. As this Kyurem-B will be worn down by Life Orb recoil, it should enter the battlefield on free switches whenever possible. Also be sure to keep entry hazards off the field, as Kyurem-B is weak to Stealth Rock and passive damage of any kind will wear it down even faster. Due to Kyurem-B's unpredictability, most opponents will switch their Pokemon around to try to scout Kyurem-B's moveset; take advantage of this by hitting the predicted switch-in with the appropriate attack. If running Outrage, do not use the move until the opponent's Fairy-types have been eliminated and their Steel-types weakened. If running Roost, use the move when Kyurem-B gets low on health; that way it can leave the battlefield and come in later if it needs to.

Team Options
========

Stealth Rock setters such as Landorus-T and Azelf can wear down walls for Kyurem-B, giving it an easier time breaking down the opposing team. Entry hazard removers such as Excadrill are required because of Kyurem-B's Stealth Rock weakness. Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y can force out Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, both of which wall Kyurem-B should it lack Hidden Power Fire. Dedicated late-game sweepers, such as Serperior and Talonflame, enjoy Kyurem-B's wallbreaking because it allows them to clean up the opposing team more easily. Steel-types such as Bisharp appreciate Kyurem-B's ability to scare Ground-types, particularly Garchomp, Landorus, Landorus-T, Diggersby, and Hippowdon.

[SET]
name: Substitute Attacker
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Earth Power / Roost
item: Leftovers
ability: Teravolt
nature: Mild
evs: 56 HP / 216 SpA / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Substitute gives Kyurem-B a shield against weaker, resisted attacks as well as status moves. Ice Beam is Kyurem-B's best STAB attack due to its vast coverage, hitting Dragon-, Ground-, and Flying-types for massive damage. Fusion Bolt handles the Water-types that can switch into Ice Beam, such as Keldeo, Azumarill, and Mega Gyarados; the move also helps Kyurem-B against dedicated special walls, such as Chansey. Earth Power rounds out this set's coverage, taking down the Fire- and Steel-types that resist Ice Beam. However, Roost can also be used to make Kyurem-B last longer on the battlefield.

Set Details
========

56 HP EVs give Kyurem-B 404 HP, ensuring that Chansey's Seismic Toss will not break Kyurem-B's Substitute in a single hit. 236 EVs in Speed allow Kyurem-B to outspeed fully invested base 80 Speed Pokemon, while the remaining EVs are placed into Special Attack alongside a Mild nature to make Kyurem-B hit as hard as possible. Leftovers is the preferred item to increased Kyurem-B's longevity, though Life Orb is an alternative to bluff a mixed wallbreaking set. The recoil from Life Orb can be healed off with Roost as well. Teravolt is useful for breaking through several defensive abilities, such as Dragonite's Multiscale and Rotom-W's Levitate.

Usage Tips
========

This set is best used as a dedicated tank against offensive teams. Bring Kyurem-B into the battlefield against a Pokemon that it forces out, such as Suicune or Celebi, and then use Substitute on the predicted switch. After getting behind a Substitute, Kyurem-B can freely attack with the corresponding coverage move as the foe tries to break the Substitute. Keep in mind that this Kyurem set is not a wallbreaker, so it struggles against stall staples such as Chansey and Clefable.

Team Options
=======

Entry hazard removal from the likes of Starmie, Zapdos, and Latias is crucial because Kyurem-B is vulnerable to all entry hazards, particularly Stealth Rock. Steel-types such as Excadrill can deal with the Fairy-types that give Kyurem-B trouble. In particular, Mega Gardevoir and Sylveon must be eliminated because their Pixilate-boosted Hyper Voice bypasses Kyurem-B's Substitute. Poison-types can also wear down Fairy-types and have great defensive synergy with Kyurem-B, tanking the Fighting-type moves that hit Kyurem-B super effectively. A strong physical attacker such as Mega Metagross can break down the special walls that can easily switch into Kyurem-B.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Dragon Claw / Iron Head
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Teravolt

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Ice Beam is a reliable STAB attack that has amazing coverage in the OU metagame, hitting the various Ground-, Flying-, and Dragon-types hard. Kyurem-B possesses the most powerful Outrage in the game; the move annihilates anything that is not a Fairy- or Steel-type. Fusion Bolt gives Kyurem-B perfect neutral coverage alongside Ice Beam and hits Water-types and Flying-types that are neutral to Ice for massive damage. Dragon Claw is an alternative physical STAB attack that does not confuse Kyurem-B and prevent it from switching like Outrage does. Alternatively, Iron Head can be used to surprise Fairy-types such as Clefable, Mega Gardevoir, and Sylveon.

Set Details
========

224 Speed EVs with a Naive nature allow Kyurem-B to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus-T and OHKO it with Ice Beam. Full Attack investment maximizes the power of Kyurem-B's physical attacks, and the remaining EVs go into Special Attack to make Ice Beam hit harder. Choice Scarf makes Kyurem-B outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, allowing Kyurem-B to function as a terrifying cleaner and revenge killer.

Usage Tips
========

This set should be used as both a revenge killer after a teammate faints and a cleaner in the late-game. Kyurem-B will be spamming Outrage the majority of the time, but it must not use the move if opposing Fairy-types are still alive. If Kyurem-B is low on health, be careful around opposing Choice Scarf users and priority attackers, as they will both revenge kill Kyurem-B rather easily.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard removal is required for Kyurem-B to switch into the battlefield safely; Starmie, Excadrill, Zapdos, Latios, and Latias can all provide this. Steel- and Poison-types such as Mega Metagross and Gengar, respectively, can deal with the Fairy-types that prevent Kyurem-B from spamming Outrage. Dedicated special wallbreakers such as Landorus and Mega Gardevoir can break down bulky Pokemon, allowing Kyurem-B to finish off the opposing team more easily. Entry hazard support from the likes of Klefki and Landorus-T can also wear down bulky foes. Magnezone can trap and KO the Steel-types that resist Outrage, particularly Ferrothorn. Pokemon weak to Ground, such as Heatran, Bisharp, Raikou, and Mega Diancie, appreciate Kyurem-B's ability to outspeed and KO Landorus, Landorus-T, and non-Choice Scarf Garchomp.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Freeze Shock alongside Power Herb is a very powerful Ice-type STAB move that takes advantage of Kyurem-B's monstrous Attack stat, but the move can only be used once. Assault Vest can be used to turn Kyurem-B into a strong special tank, but Kyurem-B will miss the ability to use Roost and Substitute. Choice Band gives Kyurem-B's Outrage even more power, but Kyurem-B's special movepool is too good to pass up. Draco Meteor is another powerful STAB attack that does not lock Kyurem-B in like Outrage does, but the move comes off Kyurem-B's lesser Special Attack stat and forces Kyurem-B to switch out after using it.

Checks and Counters
=============

**Steel-types**: Scizor can tank all of Kyurem-B's attacks and retaliate hard with Bullet Punch, while Ferrothorn can directly threaten Kyurem-B with Gyro Ball, cut its Speed with Thunder Wave, or stall it out with Leech Seed. However, neither Scizor nor Ferrothorn enjoys being hit with the occasional Hidden Power Fire.

**Revenge Killers**: Talonflame can revenge kill a weakened Kyurem-B with Brave Bird, Landorus-T destroys non-Choice Scarf variants with Stone Edge, and Choice Scarf Keldeo often OHKOes Kyurem-B with Secret Sword after Stealth Rock.

**Conkeldurr**: Conkeldurr can take any of Kyurem-B's attacks bar Outrage and then 2HKO Kyurem-B with the combination of STAB Drain Punch and Mach Punch.

**Entry Hazards**: Should Kyurem-B lack Roost, it becomes very vulnerable to the passive damage brought on by entry hazards. It is also weak to Stealth Rock, so entry hazard removal is almost required to keep it alive.

**Clefable**: If Clefable has 96 or more Special Defense EVs and a Calm nature, it can switch in on all of Kyurem-B's attacks bar Iron Head. Clefable can then proceed to set up with Calm Mind or hit Kyurem-B hard with Moonblast.

For the Mixed Wallbreaker set, mention that the Speed investment also beats neutral Base 92s (basically Mega Garchomp).

For the Naive spread on the same set, is tying with other Base 95s necessary? The only viable Pokemon in that speed tier are pre-Mega Sharpedo (runs a neutral nature a lot and will often Protect first turn for the Speed boost), pre-Mega Houndoom (always Mega Evolves ASAP and isn't super hard to switch into), normal Kyurem (I don't think it runs +Speed?) and Gliscor (never runs max and you win). The spread should probably be 52 Attack / 252 Special Attack / 204 Speed, which lets you beat neutral Garchomp while giving you some extra power on the physical side.

Did these, and it turns out I don't need an alternative spread. Thanks for your suggestions!

Wow, this thing was a real pain to re-write, but I did it. :P

this looks very solid for something done in a day, only thing I would change is mention good partners if you're running Hidden Power Fire because this is a really effective lure right now with how popular Ferrothorn is, while they share an Ice weakness DD Mega Altaria is terrifying to play against once a Ferrothorn has been successfully lured and broken. Altaria also switches into bothersome Fighting types particularly Keldeo and dissuades faster Dragons from dropping dracos. Nice work tho

Kyurem-B is not weak to Ice, its Ice typing cancels out its Dragon weakness to Ice.

You still haven't answered my question lol. Why keep his lower special defense unaltered when most things in the meta are physical.

  • Mild should be the nature on Life Orb and Substitute sets, to better siwtch into stuff like Mega Manetric, Raikou, Manaphy, and other bulky Water-types such as Slowking and Starmie. On the Scarf set, Naive should be the nature of choice, to better take priority attacks, such as Talonflame's Brave Bird and Breloom's Mach Punch.
  • Mention is Usage Tips that Teravolt allows Kyurem-B to hit Rotom-W for super-effective damage with Earth Power, meaning it does not counter it.
  • Mention Clefable with 96+ SpD in Checks and Counters, as it comes in on any move on any set, bar Iron Head. In return it can set up or deal good damage with Moonblast.
Ice Beam is a strong, reliable STAB attack that hits threats such as Landorus, Garchomp, and Mega Altaria for massive damage.
  • Lastly, instead of mentioning three Pokemon weak to Ice, mention what types you hit super effectively.
3/3, good job

Outrage is Kyurem-B's most powerful STAB attack that puts a dent ruins I know that was unnecessary but I included that to prevent repetition of 'dent'. Moves

Fusion Bolt puts a dent in Water-types such as Azumarill, Mega Slowbro, and Manaphy, while dealing and deals heavy damage to Ice-neutral Flying-types that are not weak to Ice, such as Talonflame and Skarmory. Outrage is Kyurem-B's most powerful STAB attack that and puts a dent in even the bulkiest of physical walls. Alternatively, Roost can be used to heal off Life Orb recoil; Kyurem-B is bulky enough to get several chances to use Roost in most games. (Roost is slashed before Outrage on the set though)

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Due to its Kyurem-B's unpredictability, most opponents will switch their Pokemon around to try and to scout Kyurem-B's moveset; take advantage of this by hitting the predicted switch-in with the appropriate attack. If running Outrage, do not use the move until the opponent's Fairy-types have been eliminated and their Steel-types weakened. If running Roost, use the move when Kyurem-B gets low on health; that way it can leave the battlefield and come in later if it needs to.

Team Options
========

Moves

Substitute gives Kyurem-B a shield against weaker, resisted attacks as well as status moves. Ice Beam is Kyurem-B's best STAB attack due to its vast coverage, hitting Dragon-, Ground-(comma) and Flying-types for massive damage.

Set Details
========

Leftovers are is the preferred item to promote Kyurem-B's longevity, though Life Orb is an alternative to bluff the Mixed Wallbreaker set. The recoil from Life Orb can be healed off with Roost as well. Teravolt is useful for breaking through several defensive abilities, such as Dragonite's Multiscale and Rotom-W's Levitate.

Usage Tips
========

=======

Entry hazard removal from the likes of Starmie, Zapdos, and Latias is crucial because Kyurem-B is vulnerable to all entry hazards, particularly Stealth Rock. Steel-(remove extra space)types such as Excadrill can deal with the Fairy-types that give Kyurem-B trouble.

Moves
========

Ice Beam is a reliable STAB attack that has amazing coverage in the OU metagame, hitting the various Ground-, Flying-(comma) and Dragon-types hard. Kyurem-B possesses the most powerful Outrage in the game; the move annihilates anything that is not a Fairy- or Steel-type. Fusion Bolt gives Kyurem-B perfect neutral coverage alongside Ice Beam and hits Water-types and Ice-neutral Flying-types that are neutral to Ice for massive damage. Dragon Claw is an alternative physical STAB attack that does not confuse Kyurem-B and prevent it from switching like Outrage does. Alternatively, Iron Head can be used to surprise Fairy-types such as Clefable, Mega Gardevoir, and Sylveon.

Set Details
========

224 Speed EVs with a Naive nature allow Kyurem-B to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus-T and OHKO him it (yeah i'm p sure Landorus-T is 100% male, but still) with Ice Beam.

Usage Tips
========

========

Entry hazard removal is required for Kyurem-B to switch into the battlefield safely; Starmie, Excadrill, Zapdos, Latios, and Latias can all remove entry hazards. Magnezone will trap and KO the Steel-types that resist Outrage, particularly Ferrothorn.

=============

Freeze Shock alongside Power Herb is a very powerful physical STAB move that takes advantage of Kyurem-B's monstrous Attack stat, but the move can only be used once. Assault Vest can be used to turn Kyurem-B into a strong special tank, but it Kyurem-B will miss the ability to use Roost and Substitute. Choice Band gives Kyurem-B's Outrage even more attack power, but Kyurem-B's special movepool is too good to pass up. Draco Meteor is another powerful STAB attack that does not lock Kyurem-B in like Outrage does, but the move comes off of Kyurem-B's lesser Special Attack stat and forces Kyurem-B to switch out after using it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Scizor can tank all of Kyurem-B's attacks and retaliate hard with Bullet Punch, while Ferrothorn can use directly threaten Kyurem-B with Gyro Ball, cut its Speed with Thunder Wave, or stall it out with Leech Seed. However, neither Scizor nor Ferrothorn enjoys being hit with the occasional Hidden Power Fire.

**Revenge Killers**: Talonflame can revenge kill a weakened Kyurem-B with Brave Bird, Landorus-T destroys non-Choice Scarf variants with Stone Edge, and Choice Scarf Keldeo often OHKOes Kyurem-B with Secret Sword after Stealth Rock.

**Conkeldurr**: Conkeldurr can take any of Kyurem-B's attacks bar Outrage, (remove comma) and then 2HKO Kyurem-B with the combination of STAB Drain Punch and Mach Punch.

Despite being Ice-type, Kyurem-B is no slouch on defense; well-rounded bulk and resistances to the common Electric- and Water-type attacks give it plenty of opportunities to enter the battlefield. Whether Kyurem-B is breaking down walls, revenge killing, or even stallbreaking with Substitute, its versatility means that can fit onto nearly any offensive team and perform well.

On the downside, Kyurem-B must always run a mixed set due to its lack of any physical Ice-type STAB moves. While Kyurem-B's defensive typing grants it some decent resistances, it also gives Kyurem-B nasty weaknesses to Fighting-, Fairy-, and Rock-type attacks, all of which are highly prevalent in OU. Base 95 Speed is not very fast in today's metagame, (avoid time-y stuff) as it leaves Kyurem-B outsped by a wide variety of threats, such as Mega Gardevoir, Hydreigon, and Keldeo.

Set Details
========

224 Speed EVs with a Naive nature allow Kyurem-B to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus-T and OHKO him it (yeah i'm p sure Landorus-T is 100% male, but still) with Ice Beam.

Usage Tips
========

========

Entry hazard removal is required for Kyurem-B to switch into the battlefield safely; Starmie, Excadrill, Zapdos, Latios, and Latias can all remove entry hazards. Magnezone will trap and KO the Steel-types that resist Outrage, particularly Ferrothorn.

=============

===================

'Twas an easy one. Ready for the second!

Despite being Ice-type, Kyurem-B is no slouch on defense defensively; (kinda subjective I guess but 'on defense' sounds like you're referring to a defensive playstyle, not its defensive capabilities) well-rounded bulk and resistances to the common Electric- and Water-type attacks give it plenty of opportunities to enter the battlefield. Whether Kyurem-B is breaking down walls, revenge killing, or even stallbreaking with Substitute, its versatility means that can fit onto nearly any offensive team and perform well.

On the downside, Kyurem-B must always run a mixed set due to its lack of any usable (more correct) physical Ice-type STAB moves. While Kyurem-B's defensive typing grants it some decent resistances, it also gives Kyurem-B nasty weaknesses to Fighting-, Fairy-, and Rock-type attacks, all of which are highly prevalent in OU. Lastly, base 95 Speed is not very fast good, (a numerical value can't be fast) as it leaves Kyurem-B outsped by a wide variety of threats, such as Mega Gardevoir, Hydreigon, and Keldeo.

[SET]
name: Mixed Wallbreaker
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Roost / Outrage
item: Life Orb
ability: Teravolt
nature: Mild
evs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spe

[SET DETAILS]
Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

[SET]
name: Substitute Attacker
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Earth Power / Roost

evs: 56 HP / 216 SpA / 236 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Set Details
========

Leftovers is the preferred item to promote increase Kyurem-B's longevity, though Life Orb is an alternative to bluff the Mixed Wallbreaker a mixed wallbreaking set. (cross-set reference obviously. Whatever you want to change it to is fine really though, as long as it's indefinite; it's obvious why cross-set referencing isn't allowed, but I don't think there's anything wrong with acknowledging mixed wallbreaking Kyube sets exist :3 ) The recoil from Life Orb can be healed off with Roost as well. Teravolt is useful for breaking through several defensive abilities, such as Dragonite's Multiscale and Rotom-W's Levitate.

Usage Tips
========

=======
