[OVERVIEW]

Leafeon is the strongest physical Grass-type attacker in PU, and it is fairly hard to switch into with hard-hitting sets such as Swords Dance and Choice Band as well as good coverage in Knock Off. It also has decent defenses to check a number of weaker threats in the tier and set up Swords Dance fairly reliably. However, Leafeon is held back by its mediocre Speed and poor defensive typing, making it fairly easy to revenge kill, and it faces competition from the large number of viable Grass-types, most notably Jumpluff, which sports far better Speed and a fantastic support movepool.

[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Leaf Blade
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: Baton Pass
item: Occa Berry / Yache Berry
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Swords Dance assists Leafeon in breaking down bulkier teams, while Leaf Blade functions as its main STAB attack. Knock Off is its best coverage move and can remove Eviolite from a lot of Leafeon's most common switch-ins, such as Vullaby and Tangela. Finally, Baton Pass lets Leafeon pass its boosts to a teammate if it is incapable of sweeping or breaking the opposing team on its own.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed and Attack investment alongside a Jolly nature helps Leafeon outspeed and KO as many threats as possible. Chlorophyll is mostly a filler ability, but it allows Leafeon to check opposing sun teams. Occa or Yache Berry allows Leafeon to take a single Fire or Ice attack to prevent it from being revenge killed easily.

Usage Tips
========

Leafeon should set up Swords Dance early-game to weaken teams for its teammates or pass its boosts to another teammate that fulfills the same role. Using Knock Off early-game helps cripple opposing teams by removing items. Leafeon can switch into weaker physical attackers lacking a super effective move, such as Metang and Gabite, and it also checks Ground-types such as Stunfisk and Golem fairly well. However, it has difficulty switching into other Pokemon and needs to be played with carefully.

Team Options
========

Other strong physical attackers, particularly fast ones such as Choice Scarf Dodrio, can benefit from Leafeon's ability to pass Attack boosts. Physical sweepers such as Fraxure also appreciate the boosts in addition to Leafeon's ability to break down teams and remove items. Checks to Fire-, Water-, and Flying-types such as Grumpig, Politoed, and Klang, respectively, are essential, as these foes will often come in to revenge kill Leafeon. Pokemon that can threaten Vullaby, such as Probopass and Electric-types such as Rotom-F, are also appreciated, as Vullaby can easily wall Leafeon and pressure Swords Dance recipients with Foul Play. Lures such as Dazzling Gleam Kadabra can accomplish this as well. Entry hazard setters such as Gabite and Roselia can help wear down Leafeon's switch-ins such as Tangela with Spikes and Stealth Rock damage.

[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Bullet Seed
move 2: Leaf Blade
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: X-Scissor / Baton Pass / Quick Attack
item: Choice Band
ability: Leaf Guard
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Bullet Seed allows Leafeon to OHKO Sturdy Golem and Focus Sash Kadabra and hit through Substitutes from Pokemon such as Vigoroth. Leaf Blade gives Leafeon a more reliable STAB option, while Knock Off is its best coverage option and provides utility by removing items. In the final slot, X-Scissor can be used to hit opposing Grass-types harder, while Baton Pass allows Leafeon to pivot around opposing teams, and Quick Attack can be used as a last-ditch priority attack despite being somewhat weak.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed and Attack investment lets Leafeon wallbreak as effectively as possible. Choice Band further augments Leafeon's Attack. An Adamant nature is preferred, as Leafeon outspeeds very few extra Pokemon with a Jolly nature and appreciates the significant boost to its Attack. Leaf Guard must be used, as Bullet Seed and Chlorophyll are incompatible.

Usage Tips
========

Leafeon should be used early-game to soften up opposing defensive cores. Using Knock Off can also help cripple opposing teams by removing items. Leafeon can check weaker physical attackers but normally needs to be brought in with a double switch or a free switch due to its mediocre bulk. Beware of locking Leafeon into Leaf Blade or Bullet Seed when facing teams with Bouffalant, as Grass-type moves provide a free boost for it thanks to Sap Sipper. When facing teams with a suicide Stealth Rock setter, such as Rampardos or Golem, Leafeon can prevent it from setting up entry hazards by KOing it through Focus Sash or Sturdy with Bullet Seed.

Team Options
========

Sweepers such as Pawniard and Monferno appreciate Leafeon's wallbreaking capabilities, although they provide little defensive synergy. Leafeon also needs teammates like Roselia, Ninetales, and Relicanth, which can switch into Water-, Fire-, and Flying-type attackers that can revenge kill it with ease. Stunfisk is a notable partner for also checking Flying-types, setting up Stealth Rock to assist Leafeon in wearing down opposing teams, and even luring Water-types if running Passho Berry. Checks to Vullaby, such as Raichu, are also needed, as Leafeon is incapable of doing any significant damage to it. Although somewhat rare, clerics such as Grumpig can help keep Leafeon free of status conditions to help it continue wallbreaking. Slow pivots such as Probopass and Pelipper, while not entirely necessary, can help Leafeon switch in more easily.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

When Leafeon is run on sun teams, it is best used similarly to the Swords Dance set, but it should use an Adamant nature, hold Life Orb over a resist Berry, and run Iron Tail over Baton Pass. Iron Tail or Double-Edge can be used on the Choice Band set to deal more damage to Avalugg, Jumpluff, and Vullaby. Natural Gift + Charti Berry can be used on the Swords Dance set to hit the same threats, but Leafeon will miss its resist Berry. Rock Smash is another option that allows Leafeon to lure and OHKO Pawniard. Leafeon can fit Quick Attack or X-Scissor on the Swords Dance set as well as the Choice Band set, but it loses out on being able to pass boosts. It can also run a different offensive item such as Life Orb or Meadow Plate, but, again, it prefers a resist Berry. Defensive sets are also somewhat viable thanks to Leafeon's good support moves, such as Synthesis, Baton Pass, and Yawn, but they are generally outclassed by by the likes of Tangela and Roselia, with only Baton Pass giving Leafeon any advantages over them.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Flying-types**: Offensive Flying-types are faster than Leafeon and capable of OHKOing it with the exception of Pelipper. Vullaby also resists both of Leafeon's main attacking moves and threatens it or the Baton Pass recipient with Foul Play, and Jumpluff threatens Leafeon with its super effective STAB moves and takes very little damage from Knock Off thanks to its lack of an item.

**Fire-types**: Faster Fire-types threaten to OHKO Leafeon lacking Occa Berry. Monferno also resists all of Leafeon's common attacking moves, although the rare Double-Edge can KO it.

**Status Ailments**: Burn prevents Leafeon from wallbreaking effectively, and paralysis slows it down so that it can be more easily handled by bulkier teams. While poison is not as detrimental, it still wears Leafeon down quickly.

**Faster Pokemon**: Most offensive Pokemon in the tier are capable of dealing heavy damage to Leafeon with super effective coverage moves, making it easy to revenge kill. Although Leafeon can lure in certain threats such as Zebstrika and Simipour and defeat them with the help of the correct resist Berry, other Pokemon, such as Dodrio, are always capable of OHKOing Leafeon.

Bullet Seed is illegal with Chlorophyll, so you're going to keep the Choice Band set, mention this. Add Status to C&C as Leafeon doesn't appreciate being burned.

Not QC, but Double-Edge can be mentioned as OO with CB set. Double-Edge is a guaranteed OHKO on Jumpluff after SR, and doesn't miss (unlike Iron Tail, which is an 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and has poor accuracy).

In CB Usage tips, you might mention how Bullet Seed OHKOes Golem / Rampardos / Relicanth leads with just a 2 hit and no prior damage. Bullet Seed also finds other utility in beating other Sash / Substitute users outside of Pokemon that are resistant or immune to Bullet Seed, like Bouffalant and Articuno.

In CB partners, mention how slow Volt Switches / U-turns from Pelipper, Vullaby, Vibrava, Probopass, etc. make it much easier for Leafeon to simply spam Knock Off on most of its switch-ins. I know this could literally apply to any Choiced user or frail sweeper, but in Leafeon's case it's especially important given its lower Speed as it's using Adamant over Jolly here and how prediction reliant it can be sometimes.

Stunfisk is also an especially great partner for being able to take on faster Pokemon like Jumpluff / Zebstrika that either switch in on or check Leafeon. It's also nice for paralyzing faster threats for Leafeon (again, you'll be a little slower with Adamant) and SR damage, which turns some of its 2HKOes into OHKOes (Jumpluff is a nice example of SR turning a 2HKO into a OHKO).

Good stuff for the most part, Tricking. Multiple things to remember, though.
  1. Not all singular nouns need "a" preceding them.
  2. Be careful when you want to remove -er from an adjective. "Weaker" is better than "weak" here, as the Attack stats of the likes of Gabite aren't THAT low.
  3. "Attack and Speed investment" should be singular, as "investment" is a singular noun in this case.
  4. When using "as" in lieu of "because," it must have a comma precede it.
  5. Don't remove stuff that looks like fluff but is actually important. "ability to pass" should have been kept, for example.
  6. "All of" vs. simply "all" can be a judgment call at times, but the call was incorrect under the Monferno section.
  7. Recipient, not receiver.
  8. Never, ever use "aforementioned." Other terms and words to avoid are "crux," "impunity," "fish for," "abuse," etc.
  9. Before you get to OO, remove all cross-references on sight.
  10. I prefer to stay away from "as well as (verb)ing," as the preceding verb almost never ends in -ing. For example, "hits Water-types, as well as dealing damage to Rock-types" is a no-go.
  11. If a comma precedes "but," always follow with "it" (or some other noun).
  12. When you're referring to a category or other noun, be sure to consistently refer to it as singular or plural. "Them" usually implies a plural noun, so try not to use it when referring to singular nouns if possible.
  13. "(Category) such as (Pokemon)" does not always need to be separated by commas.
  14. Moves, items, abilities, and the like don't lure foes. Pokemon lure foes.
As you can see, even our very own Grammar Standards index has many unwritten rules.

GP 2/2

However, Leafeon is held back by its mediocre Speed and poor defensive typing, making it fairly easy to revenge kill, and it suffers faces competition from the large number of viable Grass-types, most notably Jumpluff, which sports far better Speed and a fantastic support movepool.

[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Leaf Blade
move 3: Knock Off
move 4: Baton Pass
item: Occa Berry / Yache Berry
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed and Attack investment lets Leafeon wallbreak as effectively as possible. Choice Band further augments Leafeon's Attack. An Adamant nature is preferred, as Leafeon outspeeds very little few extra Pokemon with a Jolly nature and appreciates the significant boost to its Attack. Leaf Guard must be used, as Bullet Seed and Chlorophyll are incompatible.

Usage Tips
========

========

Other Options
=============

When Leafeon is run on sun teams, it is best used similarly to the Swords Dance set, but it should use an Adamant nature, hold Life Orb over a resist Berry, (AC) and run Iron Tail over Baton Pass. It can also run a different offensive items such as Life Orb or Meadow Plate, but, again, it prefers a resist Berry.

===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Most offensive Pokemon in the tier are capable of dealing heavy damage to Leafeon with super effective coverage moves, making it easy to revenge kill once it's gotten a KO. Although Leafeon can lure in and defeat certain threats such as Zebstrika and Simipour and defeat them with the help of the correct resist Berry, other Pokemon, such as Dodrio, are always capable of OHKOing Leafeon.
