Anyone want to ref?
The ASB Arena, normally full of shouting ASB fans, deserted. Not a single sign of life endowed the arena, giving it its grandeur and appeal. However two people undeterred by this fact, two young battlers stroll into the arena. A pokemon battle is sure to ensue. Now who may ask yourself, well I get why levern and Xav are here but why are you? Well, I turned up to work late several times and my boss danmantincan (ASB ref tutor) told me to stay behind in the ASB arena to clean up. Gah!

Yawn ~ Flamethrower ~ Substitute (15 HP)
The two eager opponents stare each other down on opposite ends of the ASB Arena. The you can feel the tension in the air It is so intense, static begins to crackle in the air. Levern takes the first move but sending out Hukarere, the Slycar. Xav not wanting to be out done responds by sending out a Revelry, the Togepi, not exactly the strongest pokemon out there but it's not my battle. We now have our matchup lets see how this battle progresses.

Revelry, bored, lets out a sleep inducing Yawn. Having already had his nap today, Hukarere attempts to Dodge however he trips at the last moment leaving his head to be enveloped by Revelry's yawn.

Both sides finally going on the offensive Hukarere with a Slash attack, although not normally effective, Hukarere has scored a critical hit on Revelry. It appears that Hukarere's critical hit has left Revelry in a foul mood, she expresses that fury in a fiery hot Flamethrower, which severely wounded her opponent.

Hukarere, almost overcome by tiredness attacks Revelry one last time before he falls asleep by using his Earth Power, exploding the ground beneath her, Revelry seeming unfazed by the Hukarere's last effort, sets up a Substitute.

Togepi ~ -6 ENRG [Yawn]
Slycar ~ -5 ENRG [Dodge Fail]

Togepi ~ -7 ENRG, 23 damage [Flamethrower]
Slycar ~ -5 ENRG, 10 damage [Slash, Critical Hit]

Posting to ask that you hold off on posting your actions since there are some changes that need to be made to this round. (I'm DFrog's tutor ref, just so you know I'm not some random guy disrupting the battle)

Well, DFrog apparently exploded, so it's up to the SoS to step in like a bawss... YEAH BUDDY.

And the match kicks back off, with Hukarere (Idonteven) summoning the power of the earth itself to blast the shit out of Revelry, who immediately starts plotting his revenge. As you do, you don't take that shit lying down. FOR SOMALIA. Hukarere now succumbs to the yawn, and drops to his belly, sleeping peacefully. Probably won't last more than an action. As he slumbers, Revelry takes his chance, and strikes with a viciously hot burst of flame! Wow, a critical hit, for sure! And it looks like it left a burn too, this is NOT Hukarere's day! He's up and at them now! He awaits his orders... But levren fails to give him any, having believed he'd still be snoozing! What a catastrophic turn of events, as Revelry lets loose with another roaring hot flamethrower. Nasty indeed...

Both battlers come out swinging, despite Hukarere being on the verge of collapse. He blasts Revelry's substitute with the power of the earth, shattering it before the Togepi finishes him off with a barrage of rocks... Or so it would seem! Yes, it appears that Mountaineer has taken effect, allowing Hukarere to dodge a rock type move! What a catastrophic error from Xav! But as Hukarere winces from his burn, it seems he is not long for this match... He turns to his trainer, expecting an order... But for the second time this match, he doesn't receive it! Levren, let this be a lesson to you, COVER ALL ACTIONS IN YOUR ORDERS, always! Revelry chills out to restore his energy, as Hukarere faints from burn damage.

With a fresh Pokémon on the field, levren is ready to start his comeback against the ferocious... Togepi. Revelry, obviously unimpressed by her next opponent, Yawns loudly in her direction... Boy, that's infectious. Don't be surprised if I fall asleep next round... Enraged, Kiana whips the eggy foe in the face with her tail. My my, that was a hard hit. A critical one, in fact! What's more, Revelry is visibly shaken by the attack, looks like her defence dropped. Lucky action for levren! But Revelry's not down yet, and is sensible enough to create a bright barrier between her and her foe, a Reflect to weaken physical moves. With her defence lowered, this may be all the more important. Kiana continues her Steel type assault though, by briefly flashing white, and summoning a powerful, meteoric fist from nowhere, to smash the egg even further! Her confidence raised, Kiana utilises the shadows themselves to strike Revelry before she can react... Only for her attack to have no effect whatsoever! It seems levren overlooked the fact that Togepi is a Normal type, immune to Ghost attacks like Shadow Sneak! OH MY! Another serious misplay on levren's part, allowing Revelry to set up a Substitute with no risk to herself.

Calcs:
Togepi used Yawn (7 energy)
Nohface used Iron Tail, a critical hit! (21 damage, 6 energy, -1 Defence Togepi)

Battle recommences, with Revelry using the power of the sun to soothe her wounds, and restore health. Kiana tries to Meteor Mash her again, but the fist flies right past the Substitute, doing no damage whatsoever. This presents a problem for her, especially as she now falls asleep, but fortunately, it looks like it will only be a light sleep. Revelry chills to replenish the energy she used on the Morning Sun as Kiana snoozes away... Until a searing hot jet of flame from Revelry gives her a rude awakening! Wow, that burns! Kiana turns to levren, wondering how she should counterattack, but for the third time this match, levren gives no orders for an action!

Battle recommences with Revelry refreshing her protective screen. Between that, the substitute, and the burn, levren's going to have a rough time cracking this egg. But Leeroy Jenkinsing your way through a brick wall always seemed to work for certain action heroes, and with a successful Meteor Mash, he's partway there.
