4 vs 4 Doubles
3 Day DQ
2 Recoveries / 5 Chills

Arena: Shape-Shifting Arena!
Ref Instructions: At the beginning of the match, a random field will be selected from the options below. Every time a Pokemon is fainted, the arena will change again at the end of the round. If more than one Pokemon faints in the same round, then the arena will change only once. Each arena has an equal chance of being chosen. Once the arena changes, all Pokemon will automatically teleport to the center.

The arena is 50 feet wide and 70 feet long. At the beginning of the match, and after a Pokemon is KO'd, the arena can change into the following:

Grass / Standard: The arena is covered with soft grass. The soil is loamy, and Pokemon can dig on it. There are no water source.

Desert
: This arena has sand all over it, with a few sand dunes here and there. Although it is possible to dig in the sand, Pokemon who are not of the Ground, Rock, or Steel types may find this a bit difficult. In the center of the arena, a small oasis appears. This oasis is 15 feet deep and 10 feet in diameter. That is not a lot of water, so trainers are advised to use Surf carefully!

Water: This arena is almost completely underwater! There is about 10 feet of space from each side of the arena that is not underwater. In addition, there are three "islands", each with a radius of 10 feet, that are not underwater either. One "island" is at the center of the arena. The other two "islands" are 20 feet directly north and south, respectively, from this center "island". Since these "islands" are made from concrete, it is impossible to use Dig on them. The water itself is 40 feet deep.

Winter: The whole arena is covered with snow. The snow is about 6 feet deep. There is a frozen lake at the center of the arena, 15 feet deep and 30 feet in diameter. In addition, it is also snowing (not hailing), somewhat lowering visibility. Weather moves are permissible, though it will start to snow again once the weather effect is over.

Kax$tar: Aw crap, a Taunter. I hate these things. Good thing you still have Serene Grace. SpD drop go go go!

Let's take a look at the battle now! It looks like Blind the Simipour is diving into the fray to launch an incredible attack... what, it's just Taunting Kax$tar? Seems a little underwhelming, but Kax$tar has certainly been enraged by it! And now it seems it's up to the two Dragons, who look scarily alike. However, after a little stand-off Chomper is the first to move, digging into the desert sands. Choragon's BIG POWERFUL DRAGON personality has never had to contend with this before, so he resorts to the BIG POWERFUL DRAGON back-up plan of "try to hit it", and that he does! However, his Dragon Claw pounds harmlessly into the sand. The enraged Kax$tar finally makes his moves, firing off an Energy Ball at the offending monkey, who didn't seem to see it coming. That's gotta hurt! It even scored a critical hit!

Blind moves first again and, convinced that she can do better than her unintelligent partner, fires an Ice Beam at Chomper. However, it only clumps some sand together at Chomper's former position. Choragon is getting quite frustrated by now, and, instead of clawing at the sand, punches it, using a Brick Break attack. Unfortunately for the monkey-dragon duo, it fails yet again. Suddenly, a few grains of sand begin to move, and Choragon remains, confused, above them. Chomper uses this opportunity to launch his Dig attack, knocking Choragon backwards. However, it was not without consequence, as Chomper winces at his foe's Rough Skin. Kax$tar, quite removed from the action, fires off an Air Slash at Blind, who takes it like a female water monkey (however female water monkeys take sharp blades of air).

Noticing that her opponent has once-again graced the battle with his presence, Blind leaps forward in a style that can only be found in action movies, bashing Chomper with her Acrobatics! The Garchomp looks set to retaliate, but instead simply kicks up some sand around its feet, which somehow starts a fierce Sandstorm! Pokémon logic never ceases to amaze me. However, Choragon has no time for any kind of thinking, as he finally exacts his revenge with a Dragon Claw against Chomper. Kax$tar sends another Energy Ball at Blind, seeming rather bored. Blind and Kax$tar are then buffeted by the sandstorm (I thought buffeted involved food, I was so disappointed :c).

So at the end of that round, here are the scores on the floors!

[Apologies if the calcs are wrong, I haven't done this in ages. I'm pretty sure they aren't though.]

So at the end of that round, it seems that Limewire's team is in the lead. However, Chomper's burrowing tactics didn't leave it unscathed! Despite not seeming to be fully involved in the battle yet, Kax$tar has still inflicted some mighty blows. Over to Limewire for actions!

Kax$tar: This should be easy. Simply use Energy Ball, Air Slash, and Energy Ball again on that water monkey.

Energy Ball ~ Air Slash ~ Energy Ball, all at Simipour.

Chomper: Ugh, Ice Beam. That move will kill you for sure, and digging won't work since you are slower. First, start things off with a DWAGON CLAW at the enemy Garchomp, followed by Earthquake and Outrage. However, if your HP falls below 45 at the start of the second action, then use Outrage instead.

Dwagon Claw (enemy Garchomp) ~ Earthquake (if HP is above 45)/Outrage(if at or below 45) ~ Outrage.

It appears that Blind is in dire straits, and so decides to make the most of her time in the mortal realm. How, you might ask? By shooting an Ice Beam at a land shark, of course! Unfortunately, it sails wide due to Chomper's Sand Veil! It's now down to the hax-abuser himself, who gives Choragon a taste of his own medicine, and it tastes of Dragon Claw! Choragon recoils in pain, but once again the attack is not without consequence for Chomper due to his opponent's Rough Skin! As for revenge, Choragon seems to be lagging slightly, and it's actually Kax$tar who acts first, once again using an Energy Ball to batter Blind - old habits die hard, eh? Well at least it seems Blind is going to die hard... Choragon tries to get rid of his foe with a hefty Dragon Tail, but it once again misses! The sand didn't seem to affect that though...

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Unfortunately for Blind, it is "broke" and miraculously (for Chomper of course) Ice Beam misses once again! Hope isn't completely lost, however, as Choragon finally manages to land a Dragon Claw against his land shark foe! After that hefty blow, Chomper decides to forego his original idea of shaking things upon, and decides to Outrage instead! Choragon bears the full force of Chomper's angry tackle, which manages to level the field between the competing dragons. Kax$tar, still quite disconnected from the action after all this time, returns to the tried-and-true strategy of using Air Slash on Blind.

As the Pokémon leap into the fray for the third time this round, Blind finally manages to land the damn Ice Beam, leaving Chomper in the critical "red bleep-y" position. We aren't playing normal Pokémon, but whatever. Naturally, Chomper isn't too happy about the whole affair, and bashes once again into Choragon with Outrage - it looks like the two are going neck-and-neck! Kax$tar once again blasts Blind with an Energy Ball, also leaving her looking worse for wear, but receives an unwelcome surprise - more specifically, a Garchomp's Dragon Tail in his face! It seems that Kax$tar doesn't look getting involved in the fight, and swaps itself out for Shuriken the Starmie!

It seems as if Chomper was going to be the one to attack first, but seeing that his teammate is in danger, he gallantly shields Shuriken from the oncoming Brick Break, only to be himself KO'd! Shuriken attempts to avenge his valiant partner, but his Thunderbolt only scratches the somehow-incredibly-bulky Caius, who retaliates with an even-less-effective Ice Beam.

Noting that he's now facing two opponents at once, Shuriken takes the decision to throw up a Protect to - you guessed it - protect himself from... Sheeldon using Coil? No wait, here comes the attack - an Earthquake! It did diddly-squat, however, as even Caius' teammate avoided the attack with Levitate.

In order to further increase his defenses, Shuriken calls out to the stars (even though he's one himself?) for guidance, drawing from their Cosmic Power. It isn't enough to stop him getting badly hurt, however, from the combined efforts of his opponents, using Wild Charge and ThunderPunch!

At the fall of Chomper, the arena morphs into a Water Arena! But is this too late for Shuriken? At least Limewire will release another Pokémon to help him!

Oh, and the sandstorm has subsided.

"A water arena! This could change the whole match. Thundah the Magnezone, go out there and help Shuriken."

EDIT: oh yeah, Shuriken should have +1 Defense and Special Defense now.

EDIT 2: Ability for Magnezone is Sturdy.

On the subject of abilities, Caius & Sheeldon only have 1 Ability anyway...Seeing the arena become water was music to Random's ears. They say water conducts electricity...Well, let's see...

"Time for some good old RPing!"

Sheeldon: Brick Break Magnezone, trying to push it into the water > Thunderbolt @ the water > Brick Break Magnezone
IF Magnezone issues Protect A2, THEN replace that action with chill & push all actions back.

Caius: Command: Levitate > Charge Beam @ the water > Shadow Punch Starmie
IF Starmie issues Protect A2, THEN replace that action with chill & push all actions back.

"Cool, it's time to get creative too!

Thundah: It's a good thing that you can float. Use Protect on the first action to prevent any damage from Brick Break. The sheer impact of Sheeldon's move might knock you into the water, but fear not! Use Magnet Rise to hover over the water- you may recieve some splash from the electricity, but it should not be too serious. Now, finish this round with a powerful Thunderbolt at Caius.

Protect ~ Magnet Rise ~ Thunderbolt (Caius)

Shuriken: You might not survive this round, so go out with a bang. Use a combination of Hydro Pump + Rapid Spin to create a gigantic spinning blade of water. Since Hydro Pump comes from your 10 points, the goal is to hit every single Pokemon on the field with it (even Thundah, but don't worry) for more damage with Surf, and your Timid nature should hopefully balance out the accuracy. Recharge, and if you are still alive, Hydro Pump at Caius."

Hydro Pump + Rapid Spin combo (all Pokemon) ~ Recharge ~ Hydro Pump (Caius)

As this exciting doubles battle begins to reach its climax, Thundah the Magnezone takes the field for Limewire's side, which is faring rather well - leading by a Pokémon! However, everything is still up for grabs in this match. Eager to make a good impression, Thundah acts first and throws up an originally-named Protect to protect himself. It seems that he acted just in time, as Sheeldon leaps forward and attempts to strike him with a Brick Break, but all it does is knock the Magnezone into the water. Caius just decides to sit back and Levitate. The eerie calm of parried blows soon comes to an end however, as the unusually-sluggish Shuriken begins to gather water from the deep pool, forming a Water Vortex which strikes all Pokémon on the field! ...except Thundah of course, who remains calmly protected underwater.

After that impressive display of water control, Shuriken decides to cool off and not participate in this bout. Thundah, however, decides to stay firmly in the game. Well, as firmly as you can when using elusive tactics, as he uses Magnet Rise to lift himself out of the water. Sheeldon and Caius decide to stick to their original orders, and fire a Thunderbolt and Charge Beam respectively, doing absolutely nothing.

Time successfully bought and spend with great efficiency, Shuriken jumps back into the action (ohohohoho) with a Hydro Pump, which Caius takes admirably. It seems Limewire's team is ganging up on the dastardly Dusknoir, however, as Thundah launches its first offensive move of the match - a Thunderbolt! Caius now seems to be flagging slightly... Sheeldon takes out its anger with another Brick Break, dealing relatively hefty damage. Dusknoir throws a Shadow Punch at Shuriken too - I doubt it can take too many more of those!

Shuriken: Since we're going first this round, I doubt our previous combo will be effective. Go offensive.

"Heh, heh, heh...Caius, you should live through those first two assaults & have enough to cripple Magnezone! Sheeldon, take out the Starmie & then focus on Magnezone! We can turn the tables!"

Sheeldon: Thunderbolt Shuriken > Wild Charge Shuriken > Brick Break Thundah
Caius: Pain Split Thundah > Disable Thundah's Thunderbolt > Fire Punch Thundah
IF your energy drops below 12 at any point, THEN replace your next action with Chill

Starmie, because somehow it's an incredibly fast starfish with Psychic powers, spins into action once again, dousing Caius with a Hydro Pump - it's certainly starting to look quite weary! Thundah decides to aid his ally in adding to the pain, by launching a - you guessed it - Thundahbolt. Caius definitely looks to be on its last legs - another attack could finish it off! Sheeldon doesn't seem to be too concerned for his partner, however, and strikes Shuriken with a Thunderbolt of his own - unfortunately with "er" rather than "ah". Despite the different phonetics, the attack hits Shuriken hard, leaving it even more tired than Caius, who - as I already explained - is... err, what? Oh, a Pain Split! Conniving, I must say. While the attack saps a lot of Caius' HP, it's quite the reversal!

Shuriken, making its final attack of its long stint in battle, stings Sheeldon with an Ice Beam, though to little effect. Thundah pre-emptively laments the loss of his partner, letting out an ear-piercing Metal Sound, which makes Caius shiver and lower his Special Defense. In fact, Sheeldon hears it too, and his Special Defense is also lowered. Italics. Right on cue, Sheeldon finishes Shuriken off with a Wild Charge, and Limewire's Pokémon is soon...

SEEING STARS
YEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Err, yes. Caius finishes off that bout by using Disable to make Thundah forget... um... what was it again? Never mind.

In the next skirmish, Thundah is still pondering what it was that he had forgotten, while both of his opponents gang up on him with super effective attacks - Fire Punch and Brick Break! Ouch... Thundah is certainly looking to be in a bad way, though Caius is feeling the strain of using so much energy.

Fortunately for Thundah, his friend Kax$tar pops out to lend a hand.

And with the fainting of a Pokémon, the arena begins to writhe and sway, contorting and twisting into... well, nothing seemed to change. How disappointing.

"Alright you two, time to banish the robot once & for all & start focusing on the flinchinator!"

Sheeldon: Brick Break Thundah > Thunderbolt kax$tar > Chill
IF Brick Break fails for whatever reason, THEN push actions back.
IF Thundah uses Protect successfully when you are going to use Brick Break, THEN swap Brick Break with the next action in line.

Caius: Fire Punch Thundah > Chill > Chill
IF Fire Punch fails for whatever reason, THEN push actions back.
IF Thundah uses Protect successfully

man, I'm so tempted to do an Air Slash + Heat Wave combo but I really need Air Slash's flinch rate

New to the field, Kax$tar begins the round in his -- now-trademark -- passive way: he uses Protect! From what is he protecting himself? Well, I haven't got the foggiest, but Thundah does decide, in his final mechanical breath, to lament his own death as he did Shuriken's, using Metal Sound. Its_A_Random's Pokémon don't seem perturbed, however, as they finally finish Thundah off with their respective attacks.

Now alone against two rather-healthy opponents, the future isn't looking so bright for Kax$tar as it once had. Regardless, he lays on the pain with an Air Slash, which -- especially due to the aforementioned Metal Soudns -- strikes Caius for a strong amount of damage. Unfortunately for Kax$tar, however, the hax gods do not shine. It seems that they've abandoned him completely, in fact, as Sheeldon brings him back to reality with one of his nasty Thunderbolts. Caius, despite taking quite a beating, simply Chills.

Kax$tar now realises that he's in a bit of a pickle, and uses Air Slash on Caius again. He feels reassured, as it flinches Caius. Could there be a comeback, due to hax, on the horizon? Sheeldon couldn't seem to care less, however, as he both Chills.

With the fall of Thundah, the arena clunks and whirrs, and magical sparks fly, and the arena transforms into... a Desert field! Could this new arena change Limewire's fortunes?
