    BATTLE ON!

    Arena:

    Mario Kart Stadium:

This isn't your ordinary battle. The match takes place on a racing track. The battlers will be driving two karts along the course. There is a pick-up truck between the two, and on the pick-up truck is an arena! The arena is 40 feet wide and 60 feet long, made out of solid cement. If Pokemon get knocked out of the arena, they will teleport back into the center, but lose 7 HP.

In addition, at the end of every round, trainers will hit an item box that will give them special items. The special items last for one action only, and trainers can only have one special item at a time. Here are the list of special items, and the probability of getting one:

Mushroom (25%): Decreases the energy cost of a move by 3.

Shell (25%): Increases the damage of an attack by 3.

Star (15%): Decreases damage done from enemy attacks by 50%.

Bomb-Omb (15%): Deals 10 damage to the foe, and 5 damage to the user.

Boo (10%): Takes no damage from an attack on the round that the item is used.

That Squid Thing That Shoots Ink At You (10%): Decreases the accuracy of the opponent's move by 20% for the next two actions.

    Rules:

    3 vs. 3 Doubles
    3-day DQ
    2 Recovers / 5 Chills

    Switch=OK

    Teams:

    Limewire:
    Twitch the BREEZI (open)

    Breezi [Twitch] (M)
Nature: Quiet (+Spa, 15% reduction in Speed, 10% increase in accuracy of attacks for opponents)

    Type:

Poison: Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic, see and breath through smog/smokescreens/haze uninhibited. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus. Superior senses in urban settings.

Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

    Abilities:

Persistent: (Innate) This Pokemon has a great affinity for odd field effects. When it uses one of these effects it increases their duration. Moves affected are Gravity, Heal Block, Lucky Chant, Magic Room, Safeguard, Trick Room, Tailwind, and Wonder Room by an additional one (1) round or three (3) actions depending on the move.

Vital Spirit: (Innate) This Pokemon has a high vitality and alertness making it immune to sleep induced by other Pokemon. Its normal state of sleeplessness makes it take 1 less damage/action from Ghost Curse. If it is put to sleep by a Pokemon with Mold Breaker it will wake up the next action.

Unburden(DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is incredibly possessive. If it uses or loses an item in battle its rage swells and its speed doubles (x2) until it receives another item.

(Innate) This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack’s secondary effects. (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt)

    Run Away:

(Innate) This Pokemon is quick on its feet and will evade any field traps and hazards that would harm it (Spikes, Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes) in an arena. A Pokemon can still absorb Toxic Spikes if it has Run Away and is Poison-typed. Run Away does not allow the Pokemon to switch out of trapping moves or abilities, however it can escape other situational trapping strategies in battle.

    Rattled (DW):
(Innate) These Pokemon are more easily frightened by Ghost, Bug, and Dark-typed attacks and will raise their speed by one (1) stage when struck by attacks of those types. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round. Self-targeted attacks do not maintain boosts.

Hustle: (Can Be Activated) This Pokemon puts immense force and speed in its physical attacks, increasing the base damage of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.
(DW) Super Luck: (Innate) This Pokemon’s natural skill doubles (x2) its critical hit levels above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 1/3rd of the time.

Electric: STAB; 50% reduction in paralysis chance from other electrical attacks, perfect accuracy and 30% chance of Protect breaking Thunder during Rain. Superior senses in power plant environments.

    Abilities:
    Rivalry: (Innate)
This Pokemon has a primal response to competition and mating, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its attacks by two (2) when it attacks an opponent of the same gender in the same Egg Group, and decreasing the power of all its attacks by two (2) when it faces an opponent of the opposite gender in the same Egg Group.

Intimidate: (Can Be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing thier Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as an Action, and will affect all opponents.

It looks like Tangela wasn't a good idea to bring to this match...
Let's start with Seraph the Larvesta and let's pack Mojonbo Rules the Tangela.

Let's get things kicking, shall we?

Seraph, I need you to work over Twitch a bit. Fire away with Psychic, Flamethrower, Psychic, all at Twitch. There's not much else you're capable of, I'm afraid...

Mojonbo Rules, you won't be able to do much...but let's see what we can do. Start with Sunny Day so you two can be at your max potential. Then Leech Seed at Flap, then smack him with a Seed Bomb.

Twitch: Hmmmm. I feel that Sunny Day could tilt the outcome of this match. We can't do much about it, but we can lock that move by using Encore on Tangala! Now, we can use Razor Wind's wide range to hit both of our foes. Finish of by firing a Wish upon to yourself- it may be a bit too early, but it is essential that you stay alive as long as possible.

Flap: While Twitch runs things in the background, your job is to directly attack. First, create a Rock Slide only on Larvesta- hitting both foe's will decrease Rock Slide's power by a bit. Now, let's use Defense Curl on the second action. This not only beefs up your defense, it also boosts the power of Rollout, which you should use on the third action against Larvesta.

    --------------------

Alright it's always an exciting moment when a Pokemon battle is about to begin, but here on the Mario Kart Speedway things are even more exciting! The anticipation is making me shudder as Limewire unleashes Flap the Dunsparce and Twitch the Breezi to face off against rickheg and his Seraph the Larvesta and Mojonbo Rules the Tangela! This should be exciting!

Twitch opens the match up with a misplay, unfortunately, feebly trying to Encore Mojonbo, but since Mojonbo hadn't even made a move yet, the poor vine creature just gets a little confused and the move fails! Seraph swoops in to take care of the erring Breezi with a powerful Psychic attack that knocks the poor thing back a ways, giving Mojonbo enough time to whip up a Sunny Day, filling its vines with energy and raising its Speed! Flap, finally waddling into the action, lands a particularly devastating Rock Slide on Seraph as the Pokes speed along the track! Watch out for that thing!

As Twitch floats back to the karts and swaddles itself in a Razor Wind, Mojonbo spits out a Leech Seed at Flap! Seraph then fires a huge sun-boosted Flamethrower through Twitch's defensive wall for big damage while Flap Curls up into a tight ball, for Defensive reasons! Twitch then releases the energy of its Razor Wind and nabs both opponents for mediocre damage!

Mojonbo keeps its eye on Flap, nailing it with a Seed Bomb! Twitch makes a Wish for more HP in the face of a second Psychic from Seraph, and Flap finishes off the first burst of action with a huge Rollout on Seraph, jumping into its kart in the process! Seraph really needs to watch out for that Dunsparce if it wants to survive much longer!

As the battlers race onwards, they burst through a wall of item boxes. Mojonbo and its teammate Seraph both get some offensive options with two Shells while their opponents each get Mushrooms! How will these items affect the momentum of the match?

    --------------------

    Action 1:

Breezi: Encore [Tangela] (fails, -10 energy)

Whoooah, I could have sworn Twitch was slower. Oopsies.

Twitch: There is not much you can do, I suppose. First, attack Tangela only with Sludge Wave, and then nullify its abilities with Gastro Acid (+mushroom). If you are still alive somehow, finish off with another Sludge Wave at Tangela.

Flap: Alright, good work! One Rock Slide (+ mushroom) aimed only at Larvesta should crush it, followed by Rollout and another Rock Slide.

If Tangela attempts to use Sleep Powder on you on action X, then replace your move on action X with Magic Coat instead.

Wow, I expected Tangela to be in worse shape...

Seraph, try to finish Twitch. Shell Flamethrower Twitch, then spam Flamethrower on Twitch til he falls, then aim the remaining ones at Flap.

Mojonbo Rules, there isn't much for you to do either. Start with Growth, then also blast away at Twitch with Shell Hidden Power Fire and Seed Bomb, all at Twitch.

If Twitch faints, redirect all attacks to Flap.

Prose. You may notice that I didn't allow Sludge Wave to be targeted at only one opponent like Rock Slide because Sludge Wave is under the "hits all adjacent Pokemon" category (unlike "targets up to three adjacent opponents" attacks like Rock Slide), meaning it is intended to be balanced by forcing the attacker to damage its teammate.

    -------------------

    Action 1:

    Tangela: Growth (-8 energy, +2 Atk/SpA)
Breezi: Sludge Wave (20 damage [Tangela], 14 damage [Larvesta], 12 damage [Dunsparce], -6 energy, crits fail, Poisons fail)

End of Action: Leech Seed (Dunsparce -4 HP, Tangela +4 HP), Burn (Breezi -2 HP), Wish (Breezi +23 HP)

    Action 2:

Tangela: Hidden Power [Breezi] (+Shell, 20 damage, -5 energy, crit fails)
Breezi: Gastro Acid [Tangela] (+Mushroom, -3 energy, Tangela's Chlorophyll nullified for 6 Actions)

    Twitch must die.

Mojonbo Rules, use a Seed Bomb on Twitch, then buckle down with Mushroom Amnesia, then hit Flap with SolarBeam.

Sphinx, start out with Thunder Wave at Flap. If Twitch is still around A2, use Spark on it. Otherwise, hit Flap with Thunderbolt. Either way, finish by hitting Flap with Thunderbolt

Alright despite efforts to contact Limewire and get him/her to post in the battle, Limewire has gone significantly over the DQ time and is thus DQ'd from this match. Congratulations to rickheg for the win!
