You know something that I kind of miss? Guide books. There was always something magical to me about reading them that I can't seem to describe (especially my old Primia(?) guide for Gold and Silver that was written in a surprisingly snarky tone), and sadly the rise of the internet mostly killed them off. You know what I don't miss? Pokémon guide books being pretty much worthless when it comes to telling you about stats. I found my Primia guide for Emerald 10 minutes ago and looked at the stat spreads it gives. It basically rates stats on a scale of 1 to 100, but largely sticks to multiples of 5 or 10 (largely favoring 25-50-75) with some 33s and 66s. There's also bullshit like Golduck being on par with Kyogre in Special Attack (both 100), Rayquaza erroneously having its Special Defense be equal to its offenses (100s again), and Wynaut somehow having higher defenses than Wobbuffet (50s vs. 33s). Jirachi and Deoxys-S actually have their real base stats listed for some reason, and even then Deo-S has its Speed wrong (100).
