BATTLE RULES
3v3 Singles
Enforced 2 Day DQ Time for players, 3 for referees.
Each player has one DQ warning a match. Go over once, you will use your warning. Go over twice, you will be DQed. This will be at the discretion of the player or one of the hosts if the player takes too long. Referees going over DQ will probably be sacked and replaced.
Infinite Recoveries/Chills per Pokémon.
Three Substitutions per player excluding KO Substitutions.

Although neither team is likely to advance past this round there is still prizes to win, whether that prize be some currency or the pride of a battle well fought to the end. In one corner we have Akela, Rock Type Gym Leader, and in the other, filling in for Redew, we have Elevator Music, Fairy Type Gym Leader. At first glance Elevator Music's team seems to be the more conventionally powerful but that could all change with the proper match ups and orders so let's get started.

Welcome one and all! Leading off for Akela is a golden oldie with a recent spin, Mega Blastoise! And in the opposite corner a pokemon that Elevator Music surely has ample experience with, Togekiss!

Starting out the round, Togekiss begins applying its well known bread and butter move, Air Slash. Even as a neutral hit it leaves a pretty decent dent but, far more importantly, it fails to make Blastoise flinch! Blastoise takes this opportunity, as it could not be sure if it would get another, and delivers a devastating beam of cold. So cold in fact that the poor Togekiss is literally encased in ice! Not wanting to waste a chance like this Blastoise pounds the incapacitated pokemon mercilessly with more and more shots of ice. Meanwhile Togekiss is frantically strucggling to free it's body from its icy bindings. Cracks are forming and it looks like just one more tug will get him free and into the sky again.

Akela is off to a respectable lead in this early round but things are hardly over. Togekiss will surely break out of its ice prison soon and it's still healthy enough to continue. Let's wait and see how this match unfolds...

Round 2: It Cuts Like A Knife
Last round Akela's Blastoise came through with a devastating Ice Beam that granted him an early lead. Togekiss can never be counted out however so let's see what this new round brings...

As we start off Togekiss finally pulls itself free from the ice that had held it down the previous round. It quickly released a blast of cutting wind at its tormentor. Even knowing that attack was coming Blastoise couldn't help but stop and try and shield itself from the attack. Togekiss would not let up and although Blastoise managed to get one attack through the gale force winds, the battering it took this round was telling. It's earlier lead has gone completely and it is now close to collapse itself.

We're back to a relatively even match between the two battling pokemon but EM has the turn advantage. Will Blastoise be able to weather his opponent's attacks or will Togekiss finish off the mighty turtle first?

Last round Togekiss made quick work of the lead Blastoise had gained. With the momentum firmly in his favor will Elevator Music push forward to claim the first KO or will Akela's Blastoise be able to pull off an upset?

Both pokemon come out of the gates hitting each other with their best shots. A streak of icy power crossing paths with the focused power of the sun. Neither pokemon seemed able to take another hit like that and so Togekiss didn't. Folding its wings about its body, to both protect and sooth its injuries, it avoided all but the lightest bite of Blastoise's next attack and when it counter attacked the next turn the mighty tank finally went down.

Elevator Music has gained a 3-2 lead but Togekiss is hurting. Things could even up again as quickly as the next round.

Round 4: Savage Beatings
With Blastoise gone Akela now sends out his Legendary Hoopa! Unfortunately Elevator Music counters by switching to Sableye, perhaps the single scariest pokemon for Hoopa to face. This doesn't look good...

The matchup starts out just as the last ended, with a blast of fairy magic. While it is one of the few ways for any pokemon to hit Sableye hard it's clearly not Fapper's forte and the hit does only respectable damage. Sableye counters with a hit that's not only his specialty but also one that Hoopa is exceptionally weak to. Honestly the blow nearly took Hoopa down right there but the Focus Band Akela had given it proved it worth an blunted more than half the damage! Sadly it could do no more as it was knocked out of Hoopa's hands immediately afterwards. Fapper returned the favor, stealing Sableye's item from it during another blast of fairy power but even then Sableye did not relent and struck another savage blow. Hoopa took one last shot, this one empowered by Sableye's stolen Everstone, but it still paled in comparison to Sableyes response.

Both pokemon are now itemless and injured but while Sableye is clearly hurt, Hoopa is on its last leg. Akela has fallen far behind and it looks like it will take a miracle for him to come back now...

After a devastating round Hoopa is on the ropes and Sableye is moving in for the KO. It's not now a question of if Hoopa will live but what Sableye will do before knocking the next pokemon out or the match.

Sableye begins by drawing in the ambient light of the moon. Although it's the middle of the day, the moon is still in the sky and still giving off it's mystical light. Energized, Sableye hardly seems to notice Hoopa's continued offensive.
Still he apparently feels no more reason to dawdle and sends his shadow streaking out to bring Hoopa to the ground.

A quick and dirty round to finish what was a mauling the round before. It now all rests on Akela's last mon, the ever dependable Colossoil. It's a very steep hill to climb but you can't help but try!
