Here it is, the game you've all been waiting for!

Welcome to Alcatraz, the most tightly secured prison in the whole of the United States. Located on a small island in the middle of San Francisco Bay, people who enter never leave. This will be the location of our "adventure".

As a little "game", the guards have decided that seventeen of the most dangerous criminals will be locked in a single room together. Of these criminals, 5 of them are top members of the most threatening gang in the prison. These members can only be identified by their gang tattoos, hidden under their prison jumpsuits.

The rules are simple. Every day, the group will get together and eliminate one of their own. During the night, the gang will get together and murder one of the group. Last faction standing wins.

Rules:

-THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE IN THE GAME. ALL DISCUSSION MUST BE HELD IN THE THREAD. IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF THE GANGSTERS, YOU MAY NOT COMMUNICATE OUTSIDE THE THREAD. NO AIM, NO IRC, NO SMOGON PM. ANYONE BREAKING THIS RULE WILL BE GODKILLED AND POSSIBLY INCUR OTHER PUNISHMENTS. DO NOT JOIN IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ABIDE BY THIS RULE.

Okay, now that that's out of the way...
  • You may not post your role PM publically. Doing so will result in you being godkilled. You also may not post any communication with the host, no matter the content.
  • Days will last for 48 hours.
  • Nights will last either 48 hours or until all PMs are received.
  • All PMs should be sent to Seven Deadly Sins
  • If you do not wish to use a day or night ability you should send a pm to Seven Deadly Sins stating "Day/Night X - Idling"
  • No screenshots of any kind may be distributed at all.
  • I should be notified of all channels, spreadsheets, google docs, paste bins, etc that you create.
  • Priorities are set and kept secret.
  • Bold your votes so that it's easier for me to count them at the end of the day.
  • If you wish to change your vote during lynch you must edit the post containing your initial vote.
  • Please remain active. Don't join if you foresee yourself being away for any extended amount of time. I really hate subbing people out but I will do so if I deem you inactive (I will nudge you first)
  • If you talk during the night, the Gang will notice you, find you, and kill you. (you will be godkilled)
  • In the event of a tie, the player whose majority was reached first will be lynched.
Roles:

4 Gangsters - The Mafia of this game, none of them have any special power. As a team, they can kill one player per night. On night 0, they go out and Recruit someone.

1 Recruit - Chosen by the Gangsters, this person is selected Night 0 to become a new member of the Gang.

The Snoop - During the night, this light-fingered player can check one person for any identifying mark that would show if they are in the Gang or not. The equivalent of the Inspector. Receives a random inspection for Night 0.

The Large Black Man - During the night, the Large Black Man can stand guard over one person, scaring any would-be murderers away from them. Of course, his demeanor is a little frightening, and in order to keep from spooking people he can't guard the same person twice in a row. The equivalent of the Bodyguard.

2 Prison Romantics - Two convicts that have gotten a little "too" friendly with one another in the slammer. These two players may communicate with one another outside of the thread. If one dies of any cause, the other is heartbroken and commits suicide, unwilling to live without his partner.

8 Vicious Criminals - Each more vicious than the next. However, they're pretty standard as criminals go, so they're nothing special here.

Living Players:

2. Thorns
3. Mekkah
4. jumpluff
5. Accent
7. GTS
8. Fishy
9. Ace Matador
10. Bass
13. Sikh Assassin
16. Toothache

Dead Players:
12. Kumar - Lynched Day 1
15. RB Golbat - Shanked Night 1
1. CrabNebula - Lynched Day 2
11. twash - Shanked Night 2
6. billymills - Lynched Day 3
17. porygon3 - Shanked Night 3
14. Umbreon Dan - Suicided Night 3

It is currently Day 3.

Ok, so, let's get this properly started. I guess no one is willing to step forward, probably because no one wants to be suspected, but, well, someone has to do it anyway or else we'll end up lynching Thorns for no apparent reason.

I mean, unless you were hiding something billymills, I don't really see why you didn't withdraw your vote when you noticed that Thorns was actually playing...
Anyway, whether billymills or someone else has it, a random inspection result was given during the previous night. I'm not asking the inspector to reveal himself but if we could at least get just a tiny clue, it would help us.

Right now, I'd be enclined to vote Thorns as well, just because billymills' post seems a bit unnatural, so maybe there actually was some info backing it up. But I'm not really convinced that it's a good option, so I'd like more people to either agree or disagree, and if Thorns could defend himself it would be a great way to start a discussion (and discussions are the best way to force the mafias to make mistakes).

How is this bad anyway?

I suggest for the inspector NOT to come out this early in this game and that includes giving clues. Mafia will just as much benefit from the clues if not more, as you are without protection. So giving clues is even worser than claiming outright. I don't know why you would even suggest this, Accent?

And I am not too averse to voting Thorns either, if only because he hasn't posted yet.

Well as I said, discussion is the best way to find the mafias, and if we stay silent they will easily do whatever they want. That's why I suggested a "tiny clue" but I guess you're right, it's risky... so, inspector, until you actually get meaningful results, don't say anything.

Now, let's wait for Thorns' reply...

These are the two points that should be emphasized. Until we get into mid/lategame where we are more likely to need 100% correct lynches, or at least people that can be trusted, the inspector should lie low. Giving small clues is as bad as directly coming out if the mafia is competent. There is no way to give off a signal as inspector that good men can see where bad men cannot. You either come out, or you don't.

As for everyone else, yes, please create discussion. Cast votes just to lure people into defending themselves. If we cannot find anyone more suspicious than another, then we will lynch the least contributive person, or we will not lynch at all. Whether the last one is beneficial or not depends on the amount of players (mostly even/uneven) and power roles, I can't be assed to think about that right now but the option should be discussed.
