Project Lure That Threat PU Edition (Voting Stage)

Murkrow @ Life Orb
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Heat Wave

Stoutland @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Superpower
- Facade
- Crunch

Murkrow lures both Mawile and Golem with Heat Wave and Hidden Power Grass respectively, giving Stoutland more freedom to spam Frustration and poke some major holes in opposing teams. Murkrow also has the added bonus of weakening Metang for Stout. If you want to go the other way, Stout can take chunks out of opposing mons and give Murkrow more opportunities to eliminate troublesome mons. Stout and Murk also pressure Gourgeist and Tangela well.

Murkrow @ Life Orb
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sucker Punch
- Hidden Power [Grass] / Pursuit
- Heat Wave

Kingler @ Life Orb
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Agility
- Crabhammer
- Knock Off
- Superpower

Trapinch @ Eviolite
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Quick Attack
- Toxic

This is an offensive core where Murkrow lures in Def. Mawile and either kills / weakens it alot. This is good for the core because Kingler does not want to take an intimidate after setting up an agility and Trapinch does not want to get toxiced or its eviolite knocked off. Murkrow is also good against grass types that switch into Kingler and Trapinch. After all threats to Kingler are eliminated, Kingler is free to set up an agility in attempt to sweep. Kingler is also good against Ice and Rock types that switch into Murkrow, with superpower. I decided to use Trapinch in this core due to the big electric weakness. Trapinch uses arena trap to trap any electric types and beats them in a 1v1.

Lord Sample Team wins this round with his Muk+Murkrow core this round we'll be luring in Cacturne, a very prominent threat in the PU metagame right now.

the face of regret (Probopass) @ Chople Berry
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpD
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Bug]

Chople berry lets Probopass avoid the OHKO from focus blast whilst hidden power bug OHKOs in return.
Or just dodge it scrub.

252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Focus Blast vs. 172 HP / 0 SpD Chople Berry Probopass: 242-286 (79.6 - 94%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Probopass Hidden Power Bug vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Cacturne: 300-356 (106.7 - 126.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Don't ask my why I did this, heck I even reserved it. This set is actually worse than anything i've ever made.
Everyone knows Prinplup is gonna win but hey, here's a filler submisison.

Lapras @ Splash Plate / Icicle Plate
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Surf
- Freeze-Dry
- Ice Beam / Thunderbolt

Splash Plate and Icicle Plate can bluff choice specs and most Lapras don't run enough speed for Cacturne. You pretend you are locked into Hydro Pump or Surf and then surprise them with the Freeze Dry or Ice Beam.

252+ SpA Lapras Freeze-Dry vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Cacturne: 288-338 (102.4 - 120.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

You can also live Sucker Punches easily.

4 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 40 HP / 4 Def Lapras: 153-181 (37.2 - 44%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Prinplup @ eviolite
Ability: torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Calm nature
- Scald
- Stealth Rock / Defog
- Toxic
- Signal Beam

should be completely standard, I use it on every prinplup I run because no reason not to unless you need both rocks and defog that bad and honestly prinp needs an elec immune so it's getting some rocker pretty frequently anyway. It can chew any one hit, won't ohko and giga drain lets cac live despite rocks but it's still almost dead and giga is also a worse energy ball that needs to die out. I'd slash this on the analysis now if I wasn't typing the whole thing from my phone / had the ability to approve changes.

Stunfisk @ Rindo Berry
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Stealth Rock

Idea is that everyone with a Cacturne or Leafeon will either attack you or boost up, but you have Rindo so you stay in and Sludge Wave. Wasn't the first to use this set (saw it in one of Anty's posts iirc), so credits to them.

252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Giga Drain vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Rindo Berry Stunfisk: 161-191 (38.2 - 45.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
8 SpA Stunfisk Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Cacturne: 176-208 (62.6 - 74%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Leafeon @ Life Orb
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Knock Off
- X-Scissor
- Synthesis

Not the best lure, but basically leafeon is gonna outspeed cacturne and use xscissor or else predict a switchin and use xscissor (hoping for people to see the leafeon and guess that the final move is quick attack).

252 Atk Life Orb Leafeon X-Scissor vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Cacturne: 681-806 (242.3 - 286.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

In case cacturne decides to use sucker :

4 Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Leafeon: 101-121 (37.2 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Beheeyem.gif

Beheeyem @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psychic
- Signal Beam/Hidden Power [Fighting]

So this is a pretty cool set that I've personally been playing with a lot lately and it not only works in general but also works great as a Cacturne lure. If Beheeyem can use CM before Cacturne comes in, then no variant of Cacturne can get the raw OHKO...even if Cacturne somehow sets up. None. With Signal Beam as well, Beheeyem can grab the easy OHKO even without any boosts.

252+ Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Colbur Berry Beheeyem: 148-175 (41.8 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 8 SpD Colbur Berry Beheeyem: 179-212 (50.5 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 8 SpD Beheeyem: 168-199 (47.4 - 56.2%) -- 78.5% chance to 2HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 8 SpD Beheeyem: 90-105 (25.4 - 29.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Or, with a CM boost:

252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Dark Pulse vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Colbur Berry Beheeyem: 121-142 (34.1 - 40.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Giga Drain vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Beheeyem: 113-134 (31.9 - 37.8%) -- 92.8% chance to 3HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Focus Blast vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Beheeyem: 60-70 (16.9 - 19.7%) -- guaranteed 6HKO

Whereas in return, Beheeyem grabs the easy KO:

0 SpA Analytic Beheeyem Signal Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Cacturne: 516-608 (183.6 - 216.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 0 SpA Analytic Beheeyem Hidden Power Fighting vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Cacturne: 308-364 (109.6 - 129.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
^ This one is only if you do get the Calm Mind up

Also, Beheeyem can even take some stronger hits:

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Cacturne Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Colbur Berry Beheeyem: 296-348 (83.6 - 98.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252+ SpA Life Orb Cacturne Dark Pulse vs. +1 252 HP / 8 SpD Colbur Berry Beheeyem: 239-282 (67.5 - 79.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

With Analytic, Beheeyem doesn't miss out on too much power anyway and some people might even assume specs. Honestly this thing is considerably more capable than I anticipated and I had some success with the set against Cacturne in the PU Open and the Seasonal. Try the set out, even if you don't want to lure Cacturne.
