[SET COMMENTS]

With a solid base 120 Special Attack, Magneton is a prime candidate for a Choice Specs set. This set hits very hard right off the bat while also reliably trapping Steel-types, most notably Escavalier. Unlike other sets, this one also has more use outside of simply trapping Steel-types; thanks to its Electric / Steel typing granting it a vast number of resistances and a decent base 70 Speed, Magneton can also check common threats such as Absol, Kabutops, and Feraligatr. Magneton also hits harder than every other Electric-type in RU, giving it the edge over its competition. Thunderbolt is a great STAB move that can also pummel Aggron, Klinklang, and Water-types with ease. Flash Cannon provides a much-needed secondary STAB to hit Rhydon and Sandslash while providing solid overall coverage with Thunderbolt. Hidden Power Fire nails Steelix and Ferroseed, two common Steel-types in the tier that don't mind Flash Cannon or Thunderbolt. Finally, Volt Switch is chosen as the last move to allow Magneton to get out of play if needed while dealing reasonable damage and gaining momentum.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

A Timid nature is chosen to get the Speed edge over neutral-natured Absol and Kabutops. However, a Modest nature is a viable alternative to allow Magneton to OHKO Slowking without entry hazard support if your team already has a way to deal with these threats. Magnet Pull is the chosen ability, as Magneton still aims to trap Steel-types while being a hard hitter. However, Analytic is a useful ability as well if trapping Steel-types is not required for Magneton, and it might appreciate the extra damage output against Pokemon it can't outspeed. It is also noteworthy that Analytic activates even if the opponent switches out, meaning Magneton can be significantly harder to switch into in some cases. A bulkier EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA is usable with Analytic to minimize Speed and maximize Magneton's damage output. Hidden Power Ground is a usable option over Hidden Power Fire if Lanturn is a problem for your team, but the move is fairly useless otherwise and Magneton will then lose the ability to eliminate Ferroseed and Escavalier.

With Magneton's primary job being to remove Steel-types, it pairs up well with any Pokemon that benefit from the removal of such Pokemon, most notably Druddigon, Cinccino, Swellow, and Mesprit; the latter three can use U-turn to allow Magneton to come in safely while forming a VoltTurn core with it. Magneton appreciates entry hazard support, with Smeargle, Scolipede, and Crustle all being great options for this. Pursuit trappers, such as Absol, Drapion, and Spiritomb, are useful to trap Pokemon that resist Volt Switch such as Roselia. Rotom is also an option for a teammate because it sports decent defensive synergy with Magneton.

yeah this is good

Be sure to mention Spikes + SR support from like Smeargle or Crustle, it makes Swellow + Magneton ridiculously good

Also, I would slash Modest next to Timid. I just missed out on a KO on Slowking with Timid that I would have gotten with Modest which was really annoying. Outspeeding Nidoqueen and blasting it with Flash Cannon is too good to pass up on most occasions though

Yeah this looks like a good idea, i don't know why it wasnt in the analysis in the first place tbh :/.

Be sure to mention Analytic as an option, while Magneton loses its ability to trap Steel-type when running Analytic, the extra power when magneton moves last is really, really significant. Maggy's good Electric/Steel typing allows it to take a bit more punishment than the average Pokemon, so moving last isnt always an immediate disadvantage. Also, Analytic activates if the opponent tries to switch out, making it significantly harder to switch in on than if Magneton was running Magnet Pull.

Also, i'd probably add some calcs to show just how strong Choice Specs Magneton is, but thats just me.

hmmm i wouldn't say that magneton checks kabutops / feraligatr with relative ease considering +2 adamant lo aqua jet from either is doing (iirc) around 80%.. i would say that magneton can tank attacks from them if necessary and ko back instead. i would also mention at the end of the last sentence in set comments that volt switch also allows magneton to gain momentum. also mention that a pursuit mon (absol, tomb, drapion) is nice alongside specs volt switch because it allows volt switch + hazards + pursuit to make quick work of a good deal of electric absorbers (roselia comes to mind)

yea this looks good just make those changes and ill qc

With the new feature added to pokemon showdown, mention analytic in the AC section. Most people do not check if magneton has magnet pull, but they rather assume it, so analytic gives you a major power boost, espicially with the choice specs equipped. A spread of 252 hp/252 special attack/4 defense should be used if you add analytic

The cool thing about Analytic is that if they do realize you're not using Magnet Pull, and switch, it gets the Analytic boost anyway, so that's probably worth noting.

Definitely mention Escavalier under set comments. It's very important to note that it traps and OHKOes Escavalier. You could mention HP Fighting to OHKO Aggron and still hit Steelix and Ferroseed super effectively, but I don't know if you think that's worth it. Looks fine otherwise:

Thanks DC, finally this got QC'd. I didn't mention HP Fighting in AC because according to the damage calc Specs T-bolt still KO's standard Aggron no matter what. Anyways, GP, let's get it goin'.

There are SO many things wrong with Rohail17's check. I'll post why I disagree with these parts and then GP it.
With a solid base 120 Special Attack stat, Magneton is primed for a Choice Specs set.
You don't say "base [#] [stat] stat," you say "base [#] [stat]."
Finally, Volt Switch is chosen as the last move since it allows Magneton to switch out if needed while dealing reasonable damage and gaining momentum.
"Since" doesn't fit here, "because" is a million times better.
pretty much all changes in ac
Most of the changes you made in AC are unnecessarily subjective and not needed. You're changing the meaning of the writing also.

There are a couple legitimate changes, but not enough to make the check good to implement.
