I think Thunderbolt deserves a Slash with hidden power in the fourth slot of sub salac. Flash cannon hits the grounds hard enough in some cases and unless you specifically need an OHKO on say dragonite or gliscor etc. then you can definitely run thunderbolt in that slot. (applying my experience with magnezone to this as I'd assume it's the same).

[OVERVIEW]

<p>While Magneton may appear to be outclassed by its evolution, Magnezone, Magneton's higher Speed stat allows it to keep a specific niche. With a Choice Scarf or a Salac Berry boost, Magneton has the ability to outspeed a much bigger proportion of Pokemon in the OU tier than Magnezone can, allowing it to either revenge kill more threats or avoid being revenge killed while it's sweeping. Magneton still has the rare ability to trap and remove Steel-types from the game with Magnet Pull. Underestimate this magnet in your own peril. (or something else; get something fancy as an ending here. ending with "magneton can trap steels" isn't a good ending.)</p>

<p>Signal Beam can replace Explosion in the last spot if one you do not find it killing off Magneton appealing, as it can be used to OHKO Celebi and hit Grass-types harder than Hidden Power Ice. Hidden Power Ground can be used to KO opposing Magneton, Magnezone, (comma) or non-Choice Scarf or Shuca Berry Heatran. Discharge is also an option if one you want Magneton to spread paralysis, but Thunderbolt is usually always better due to the extra power needed to revenge kill opposing Pokemon. Max Speed EVs and a Naive nature are used so Magneton is as fast as possible while not hindering Explosion's power but does not compromise Explosion's power. Maximum Special Attack is used so lets Magneton hit as hard as possible. If one you does do not want to use Explosion, Timid is the best nature to use.</p>

<p>Pokemon who that appreciate Magneton's intrinsic ability to trap and KO Steel-types make great teammates. Dragonite, which resists all of Magneton's weaknesses, loves Skarmory and Scizor being removed from the battlefield, while resisting all of Magneton's weaknesses. Flygon and Kingdra also appreciate the removal of Steel-types that could allow stopped them to from cleaning up late game. Aside from Dragonite, bulky Water-types such as Vaporeon, Suicune, (comma) and Swampert make good partners to Magneton (removed comma) because they can easily switch into Fire-type attacks Pokemon, Heatran in particular. Celebi, Breloom, (comma) and Shaymin can switch into Ground-type attacks that plague Magneton. Gyarados gets a special mention, because just like Dragonite, he it also resists all of Magneton's weaknesses. Magneton will find itself walled by Blissey if she it can avoid Explosion. Lucario and Infernape can force out Blissey and set up for a sweep as long as they avoid Thunder Wave. Gliscor can switch into any attack by from Blissey apart from Toxic or the rare Ice Beam and Taunt it. Dugtrio can also trap and kill Blissey. Note that opposing Magneton or Magnezone can trap and kill Magneton that is not locked into Hidden Power Fire or Hidden Power Ground.</p>

<p>This set takes advantage of Magneton's decent Speed and many resistances (Steel in particular) to set up for a sweep. The idea is simple: come into a resisted attack from an opposing Steel-type, preferably Choiced (for example, Bullet Punch from Choice Band Scizor), set up a Substitute, (comma) and use Charge Beam to raise Magneton's Special Attack. Once the Substitute is broken, Magneton will can continue to use Substitute until it reaches 25% HP or less, in which then where its Salac Berry will activate, shooting its Speed stat to 393. Magneton can then proceed to sweep weakened teams with its increased boosted Speed and increased Special Attack. Like Agility SubPetaya Empoleon, Magneton has resistances to common priority attacks used in the standard tier while having an immunities to both Toxic Spikes and sandstorm while having as well as a resistance to Stealth Rock.</p>

<p>Substitute, in conjunction with Salac Berry, and Charge Beam are the core of this set, allowing Magneton to increase both its Speed and Special Attack stats, respectively. On the last two slots, there are quite a few ways options to use the final two spots. The preferred way combination is to use Charge Beam + Flash Cannon + Hidden Power Grass, which gives maximal coverage while being able to OHKO Swampert (which Magneton would be walled by otherwise). If one you prefer Magneton to have a stronger Electric STAB, Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice should can be used for maximum coverage between two moves. Finally, Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon can be used if one does not care much about hitting Ground-types super effectively you have Pokemon that can reliably weaken or remove Ground-types.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

<p>The EVs are quite simple. Max Speed and a Timid nature allows Magneton to be as fast as possible, outspeeding everything Pokemon up to but not including Pokemon with base a 125 Speed like such as Weavile and Azelf Aerodactyl and Jolteon. 12 HP EVs are used so allow Magneton to reach a HP stat that is divisible by 4, allowing Salac Berry to activate after three Substitutes. The rest are dumped into Special Attack to let Magneton deal as much damage as possible.</p>

(393 Speed doesn't outrun base 130 Pokemon. also, on the three, i've written it out because it's not really "numerical" while the other numbers being talked about are. can't explain it too well, sorry.)

Dugtrio is another neat teammate to consider because it, Dugtrio can also trap and kill Magnezone and Blissey, while also killing Jolteon and Heatran stuck on the wrong move. Celebi can take Fighting- and Ground-type attacks that hurt Magneton and spread paralysis. Lastly, Pokemon who that benefit from Magneton's Steel-trapping ability also make good teammates. As mentioned before, Dragonite, Flygon, and Kingdra love the removal of Skarmory and other troublesome Steel-types as they would ruin their sweep otherwise, while Flygon and Kingdra also benefit from the removal of Steel-types.</p>

[Team Options]

<p>Magneton's near unique ability suggests that wants Pokemon who that can take advantage of the absence of Steel-types and those who can lure out Steel-types make great partners. Gengar tends to lure in Scizor, and Dragon-types attract bulky Steel-types. With opposing Steel-types either eliminated or heavily damaged, a Pokemon like such as Choice Band Flygon, Dragonite and Kingdra can easily run through an opposing team with boosted Dragon-type attacks. Tyranitar is another great partner who that loves Magneton for removing Scizor, while being able to take on most of the Pokemon that cause him trouble, like such as Blissey and Rotom-A.</p>

<p>The specially defensive Pokemon that plague Magneton are usually paired with physically defensive Pokemon, which means mixed attackers like such as Dragonite that can break open a team are very helpful in breaking the enemy's defensive core. Infernape is another excellent wallbreaker who that does a lot of damage to Pokemon that give Magneton trouble, like such as Celebi, Blissey, Tyranitar, (comma) and Snorlax.</p>

[Optional Changes]

<p>While Magneton has the same movepool as Magnezone, its lack of bulk makes a lot of other options harder to perform, and those are generally better left to Magnezone. Such options include the traditional Substitute SteelKiller set, Choice Specs, (comma) and Dual Screens. Magneton also has other moves in its disposal, such as Discharge and Thunder Wave, but again, these moves are better used by Magnezone, who which boasts better bulk.</p>

<p>On the Choice Scarf set, one you can sacrifice some Special Attack EVs to power up Explosion a little more. However, if one you were to add some Attack EVs onto Magneton, make sure that Magneton's Special Attack stat does not fall any lower than 327 (which is no less than 204 Special Attack EVs). (tell us readers why we shouldn't do that.)</p>

[Counters]

<p>Magneton's counters are essentially the same as Magnezone's. Blissey and Snorlax's massive Special Defense can let them take any attack that Magneton can throw at her them with ease, barring Explosion. Celebi can also absorb most attacks that Magneton uses, but it must watch out for the occasional Signal Beam, which will OHKO it. Lastly, Rotom-A can also switch into Magnezone without much trouble, but it must rely on Overheat or Hydro Pump to do significant damage to it.</p>

<p>Depending on which Hidden Power Magneton runs, Flygon, Gliscor, (comma) and Swampert can counter Magneton. Zapdos can OHKO any Magneton with Heat Wave, but will detest taking Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Ice. While Choice Scarf Heatran will not enjoy switching into Thunderbolt or the rare Hidden Power Ground, he it can outspeed all forms of Magneton and OHKO with a Fire-type move or Earth Power.</p>

<p>Dugtrio can trap and OHKO Choice Scarf Magneton that is stuck in Thunderbolt. Opposing Magneton and Magnezone can also trap and KO Magneton that is not using Hidden Power Fire or Hidden Power Ground. Electivire can switch into Electric-type attacks, obtain a Motor Drive boost, (comma) and proceed to OHKO Magneton with Flamethrower, Cross Chop, (comma) or Earthquake. Thanks to Volt Absorb, Lanturn and Jolteon can switch into Electric-type attacks with impunity while resisting most of the other attacks that Magneton can throw at them. Although rare, Gardevoir can also can trap Magneton by Tracing Magnet Pull and destroy it with Focus Blast.</p>

Writeup looks good, but I'm gonna to request that Hasty get a mention in AC or even a slash. When your taking Steel moves such as Scizors Bullet Punch, the lower Defense hardly matters so the choice between Naive and Hasty comes down to what you'd rather take better (Stuff like Scizor's U-Turn or Jirachi's Fire Punch vs Vaporeons Surf and Dragonite's Draco Meteor). Just Examples.
