[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine possesses a very good offensive presence and offensive typing, with Ice and Ground being able to hit common Pokemon in the metagame such as Heatran, Bisharp, Landorus-T, Thundurus, and Amoonguss. Mamoswine also possesses a great Attack stat, though its mediocre Speed makes it reliant on speed control to unlock its full potential; nevertheless, Mamoswine's low Speed is somewhat mitigated by its access to a priority Ice-type move in the form of Ice Shard, which allows it to snipe common Pokemon that would otherwise outspeed it, such as Shaymin-S and Landorus-T. Mamoswine's typing, however, doesn't allow it to switch into many Pokemon and makes it weak to a lot of common types, such as Fighting, Water, and Fire. This allows Pokemon, such as Keldeo, Terrakion, and Mega Charizard Y to check it; it is also completely walled by Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Mamoswine, however, is one of the best checks to Thundurus and Landorus-T. As an Ice-type, Mamoswine faces competition from Kyurem-B, which offers the same coverage moves but can hit Rotom-W and Rotom-H for super effective damage. As a Ground-type Choice Scarf user, Mamoswine faces competition from Landorus-T, which possesses more noteworthy attributes and better overall support to its teammates, such as Intimidate and a better typing. Mamoswine, however, can hit Grass-types for super effective damage, notably Amoonguss, and does not make the rest of the team susceptible to Bisharp. Landorus-T is usually the better pick unless the team has trouble with bulky Grass-types or Defiant users.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Mamoswine has two Ice-type STAB moves at its disposal. Icicle Crash is a strong, reliable Ice-type STAB move that hits single targets hard, such as Amoonguss. Icicle Spear, while not as reliable as Icicle Crash, allows Mamoswine to break Focus Sashes on Pokemon such as Breloom. Earthquake is a Ground-type STAB move that has great synergy with Mamoswine's Ice-type STAB options by giving it the ability to hit Fire- and Steel-types super effectively. Rock Slide allows Mamoswine to hit Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y and Talonflame super effectively, while Stone Edge is a stronger alternative Rock-type coverage move that cannot be blocked by Wide Guard, users of which these targets are frequently paired with. Ice Shard allows Mamoswine to snipe opposing weakened Pokemon. It can also be used as a means to prepare against Trick Room, as Mamoswine is dead weight under it. Superpower allows Mamoswine to hit Ferrothorn, Kyurem-B, and Mega Kangaskhan super effectively. Keep in mind, however, that Ferrothorn and Mega Kangaskhan need a bit of prior damage in order for Superpower to KO them, as both can OHKO Mamoswine.

Set Details
========

Mamoswine's bulk isn't the best, so there really isn't a need to invest in it. A Jolly nature is preferred with Choice Scarf because it allows Mamoswine to outrun maximum Speed Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Thick Fat is the preferred ability because it can allow Mamoswine to tank weaker Fire-type moves, such as allowing it to survive a Fire Blast from Modest Life Orb Hydreigon.

Usage Tips
========

It isn't recommended to switch Mamoswine into attacks due to its frailty and horrible defensive typing. Mamoswine, however, can switch into weaker spread moves such as Rock Slide. Ice Shard allows Mamoswine to snipe certain threats, such as Shaymin-S or weakened Pokemon, although it generally isn't the best move to be locked into. Mamoswine should only lock itself into Ice Shard when it needs to snipe an opposing fast threat, such as Deoxys-A, with reliable accuracy. Mamoswine is a bit hard to switch in, but it is also really hard to force out. In that sense, it is best to set the field in favorable conditions for Mamoswine, such as by baiting in Pokemon that can't beat Mamoswine, having a good support partner, or setting up speed control, so that it can pressure the opponent's team.

Team Options
========

Mega Charizard Y is a great teammate for Mamoswine, as it has near-perfect synergy with it, resisting all of Mamoswine's weaknesses except for Water-type attacks, which are weakened under Drought anyway. Mega Charizard Y greatly appreciates Mamoswine's ability to remove Heatran, opposing Electric- and Rock-types, and Dragon-types that resist Mega Charizard Y's attacks. Mega Charizard Y, in turn, checks Rotom-W and Keldeo. Between Heat Wave and Earthquake, the opponent will not have many Pokemon to switch in. Electric-types are good partners for Mamoswine, as they are able to check bulky Water-types that Mamoswine has trouble beating. Mamoswine, in turn, checks Landorus-T and bulky Grass-types that most Electric-types have trouble against. Talonflame is a more offensive Pokemon with access to speed control; it checks Steel-types that threaten Mamoswine while Mamoswine can check Heatran and opposing Rock-types. Both of them, however, are walled heavily by Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Aegislash checks Terrakion and Mega Metagross, both of which are huge threats to Mamoswine, and has access to Wide Guard to protect itself from Mamoswine's Earthquake. Mamoswine, in turn, can check Pokemon that threaten Aegislash, such as Bisharp, Heatran, and Landorus-T. Cresselia not only is immune to Earthquake but also greatly benefits from Mamoswine's ability to remove Steel-types that threaten it, such as Aegislash and Bisharp. Mamoswine is also great against common sleep inducers, such as Amoonguss and Breloom, which can give Cresselia more opportunities to set up with Calm Mind. Partners that can beat Rotom-W are greatly appreciated by Mamoswine. Venusaur, a common Pokemon on sun teams, can help in that sense while also providing coverage against bulky Water-types. Latios resists both of Rotom-W's STAB attacks and can threaten it out with a Draco Meteor; Psyshock also helps to cover Mamoswine's Fighting-type weakness.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Ice Shard can help mitigate Mamoswine's low Speed by allowing it to snipe faster threats to it, such as Shaymin-S. Ice Shard also does pretty decent damage towards Landorus-T. Earthquake is a Ground-type STAB move that has great synergy with Mamoswine's Ice-type STAB options by giving Mamoswine the ability to hit Fire- and Steel-types super effectively. Icicle Crash can be used should Mamoswine want a more reliable Ice-type STAB move. Icicle Spear is another option, as it allows Mamoswine to break opposing Focus Sash users, such as Breloom. Superpower allows Mamoswine to hit Ferrothorn and Mega Kangaskhan super effectively. Protect allows Mamoswine to scout or guard it from a super effective hit that would most likely OHKO it due to its mediocre bulk.

Set Details
========

Mamoswine's bulk isn't the best, so there isn't a need to invest in it at all. Maximum Attack EVs with an Adamant nature ensure that Mamoswine has maximum damage output. Maximum Speed EVs allows Mamoswine to outrun Adamant Bisharp, Adamant Breloom, and 200 Speed Modest Heatran; however, a Jolly nature can be used to ensure that Mamoswine will outrun all Breloom and Heatran. Should Mamoswine choose to run Life Orb, 29 HP IVs optimize Mamoswine's HP for Life Orb. Thick Fat is the preferred ability because it can allow Mamoswine to tank Fire-type moves such as Fire Blast from Modest Life Orb Hydreigon. Focus Sash is preferred, as it can allow Mamoswine to tank a hit and OHKO a Pokemon that would normally threaten Life Orb Mamoswine, such as Terrakion or Mega Metagross. Life Orb, however, is an option because it further increases Mamoswine's damage output, such as allowing it to OHKO standard Amoonguss with Icicle Crash. Mamoswine also does not mind the Life Orb recoil, as its defenses are bad to begin with.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Mamoswine's low defenses and terrible defensive typing, it isn't recommended to switch it into attacks except for weaker spread attacks, such as Rock Slide. Speed control is greatly appreciated, as it can allow Mamoswine to utilize its good coverage options. Ice Shard should be used when Mamoswine is facing a frail, fast threat, such as Shaymin-S or Deoxys-A. Mamoswine is a bit hard to switch in, but is also really hard to force out. In that sense, it is best to set the field in favorable conditions for Mamoswine, such as by baiting in Pokemon that can't beat Mamoswine, having a good support partner, or setting up speed control, so that it can pressure your opponent's team.

Team Options
========

Mega Charizard Y is a great teammate for Mamoswine, as it has near-perfect synergy with it because it resists all of Mamoswine's weaknesses except for Water-type attacks, which are weakened under Drought anyway. Speed control users are generally great partners for Mamoswine. Togekiss can redirect Fighting- and Grass-type attacks aimed at Mamoswine while also providing crucial Tailwind support. Thundurus can provide needed Thunder Wave support and has Thunderbolt to hit bulky Water-types that Mamoswine has trouble hitting. Talonflame is a more offensive Pokemon with access to Tailwind. It checks Steel-types that threaten Mamoswine while Mamoswine can check Heatran and opposing Rock-types. Both of them, however, are walled heavily by Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Electric-types are good partners for Mamoswine, as they are able to check bulky Water-types that Mamoswine has trouble beating. Mamoswine, in turn, checks Landorus-T and bulky Grass-types that most Electric-types have trouble with. Pokemon that can beat bulky Water-types, namely Rotom-W, are great partners for Mamoswine. Venusaur, a common Pokemon on sun teams, can help in that sense while also providing coverage against Grass-types. Latios resists both of Rotom-W's STAB attacks and can threaten it out with Draco Meteor; Latios also can threaten Fighting-types with its Psychic-type STAB move.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Choice Band can be used to maximize Mamoswine's damage output. Knock Off is an alternative support move that can allow Mamoswine to cripple defensive threats by removing their Sitrus Berry or Leftovers. Stealth Rock can cripple opposing Mega Charizard Y, Talonflame, and Focus Sash users.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Intimidate and Burns**: Intimidate users such as Scrafty and Gyarados can switch in, lower Mamoswine's Attack, and then force it out with their STAB options. Rotom-H can come in on any of Mamoswine's standard attacks and cripple it with Will-O-Wisp.

**Typing Advantage**: Mamoswine doesn't have the best defenses, so most super effective hits will more than likely OHKO it. Bulky Water-types, such as Suicune and Rotom-W, which Mamoswine can't touch at all, don't mind taking it a hit from Mamoswine and can force it out with their STAB options. Faster Fighting-types, such as Keldeo and Terrakion, can force Mamoswine out with Fighting-type STAB moves.

**Speed**: One of the best ways to beat Mamoswine is to make sure your Pokemon are faster than it so that they can take advantage of Mamoswine's terrible bulk and defensive typing and OHKO it before it can hit your Pokemon with its powerful STAB options. Priority moves such as Aqua Jet from Azumarill and Mach Punch from Breloom and Conkeldurr can deal massive damage to or OHKO Mamoswine. Deoxys-A can outspeed Choice Scarf Mamoswine and OHKO it with Superpower.

**Utility Moves**: Wide Guard from Pokemon such as Aegislash can completely stop Mamoswine in its tracks by stopping Earthquake. Fake Out can break Mamoswine's potential Focus Sash.

**Speed Control**: Tailwind can allow Pokemon that Mamoswine normally outspeeds to outspeed it and OHKO it instead, such as Breloom and Bisharp. The same can be said for Trick Room, which turns the fact that Mamoswine can outspeed those threats into a disadvantage.

I feel like Scarf should have its own set. Whenever I see a mamo i normally assume scarf over anything else.

  • checked by common Pokemon in the meta, such as Keldeo, Terrakion, and Charizard
    [*]weak to common types in the meta, such as Fighting, Water, and Fire
  • You could condense the two into a single point, something like "being weak to common types in the meta such as blabla leaves it check by common Pokemon such as blabla"
  • add something about bad defensive typing along with the mediocre bulk part, which means it can't switch in much or something.
  • also, 110 HP isn't exactly "mediocre bulk" it's just that its defensive typing sucks.
Set
  • set name is Physical Attacker or something in that regard :>
  • add something about Icicle Crash hitting singular targets harder than Shard such as Amoong yn
  • 29 HP IVs for LO number :>
Usage Tips
  • could be a bit /longer/ but whatever works i guess
  • say something about Ice Shard sniping weakened threats
  • remove checks like Rotom-W :>
  • mamoswine should be played like a hit-and-run attacker in way that: it comes in, checks threat(s) on the field with coverage, switch out when threatened, rinse, and repeat kinda thing :>
Team Options
  • You could make for a general point of partners that provide Speed Control such as Thundurus and Talonflame.
  • Partners that can beat Rotom-W like Venusaur in a Sun team or Latios (who also beats Fightings for Mamo y/y) :>
Checks and Counters
  • Mention Rotom-W instead of -H for burning Mamo because it's much more common and better
  • On typing advantage, say that Mamo can't touch Rotom-W *at all*
you don't a have to do this if you want. good write-up tho :>

overview:
mamoswine can't switch in on much, but it is like the best switchin for thund so make sure to mention this
mamoswine offers its team almost nothing defensively but has fantastic offensive presence
really needs speed control support to unlock its full potential

moves:
superpower also gets cube which is cool cuz mamo is a decent cube check

set details:
u really dont need to explain a 252/252 spread. just say "adamant preferred for power, but jolly is an option to outrun everything which EVs to beat jolly breloom"
in fact im thinking jolly might be preferred because a lot of things do that

usage tips:
i disagree heavily with mamo being a hit and run attacker. Its the kind of pokemon where i set the field in favorable conditions (bait in things that can't beat it, get good partner support, perhaps set speed control), bring it in, and then try to keep it in for as long as fucking possible with protect and partner switches and stuff and unless im gonna need it to check a threat later its probably going to end in a sac. since it's really awkward to get in, but really hard to force out, this is optimal imo.

i dont use mamoswine much tho, so if others Arcticblast finally Nollan disagree with this then comment pls (also with jolly > adamant)

oo:
sr over ice shard seems like a possibility on some teams

c&c:
i'd have a Speed tag for sure. The best way to beat Mamoswine is to make sure ur pokemon are still faster than it, so it cant slap u with its powerful STABs. this almost is more about avoiding speed control than using it or having high speed but yeah

hi, im not quality check but ive been summoned
mamoswine's best set is scarf (scarf ground types are good). sash and life orb are worse sets.
mamoswine is like a niche landorus-t. you put mamoswine on sun teams to abuse char-y heat wave+ mamoswine earthquake.
252 jolly scarf mamoswine (hits 284 without the *1.5 scarf bonus) is to beat 252 adamant scarf landorus-t (hits 281without the *1.5 scarf bonus) and things that creep lando. so jolly is what you will usually be running if you are scarf. if youre a different set adamant vs jolly is dependent if you are breloom weak.

I basically never use Mamoswine but the few times I have tried to use it, I have found it very underwhelming, so I want to make sure when this is written that it is sufficiently meh in its portrayal. When I have used Mamo it was always LO. What I found is that LO or sash are somewhat like Landorus-I in terms of being an offensive juggernaut that provides next to no defensive help to a team. The difference is Landorus-I is also somewhat unpredictable and has a much better speed tier. On the other hand, Mamoswine has nifty Ice STAB (with Icicle Spear to break things like Breloom's sash no less) and also has priority.

But really there are few opposing teamstyles for which these Mamo are the best option to check em. It can do ok against some generic bulky builds with things like Amoonguss and Heatran, but it's a sitting duck for Rotom-W on those teams. Moreover it's weak to Sun and deathly weak to Rain.

So.... I'd actually agree with finally and say that Scarf seems to have the best overall utility. It is similar to a Lando-T but trades off a lot of defensive utility for doing better against Amoonguss and Thundurus.

I'd definitely like to see a bit more evidence of LO/Sash ever really being worth it. It never seemed it to me. Otherwise I'd only want to see a Scarf set with what you have now all moved to OO.

hmm i dont use mamoswine that much, and i dont think that many people do either, but i'll try my best to give some good tips

Overview
  • mention how it also faces competition as a scarfer and as a ground type from landog, which possesses more noteworthy attributes and better overall support to its teammates (i.e. intimidate, better typing, etc., but we arent here to talk about landog)
  • mamoswine's niche over landog is that it doesn't make the rest of the team more susceptible to bisharp & can help the team more against bulky grass types like amoong
  • basically, only use mamoswine over lando if you have trouble with bulky grass types or defiant users
Moves
  • mention that ice shard can be used as a means to prepare against trick room, since mamoswine is absolute dead weight under it
Usage Tips
  • take the bit about not wanting to be locked into ice shard from Moves and put it here.
  • you should only lock yourself into ice shard when you want to snipe an opposing fast threat with reliable accuracy
Checks & Counters
  • give examples under **Speed**. some examples that i can think of off the top of my head are superpower from deo-a, aqua jet from azumarill, or mach punch from breloom or conkeldurr

once you implement these, tag me and i'll look over it one last time and hopefully give you 2/3!

how to hell you gonna talk about Mamoswine and not mention it is one of the best checks to genies that is known to man?

edit: also mention it works nicely with electric types since they can beat bulky waters pretty easily and don't have to worry about lando-t / grounds and grass (BAN ME PLEASE) as much : >

Scarf Set
moves:
remove the mention of skymin on the list of things ice shard can pick off, which while technically not wrong, is irrelevant since scarf mamo is faster than skymin and ohkoes with icicle crash or spear (spear being better in this case cuz skymin likes to run sash). for superpower, mention that kang / ferro need to be weakened a bit beforehand or finished off with a partner since jolly sp fails to ohko either (doing like 65% max on ferro btw), and both ohko mamo back.

Everything else seems fine,

This is an amateur check. It is not official unless checked and approved by a GP team member.

Mamoswine possesses a very good offensive presence and offensive typing, with Ice and Ground being able to hit common Pokemon in the metagame, such as Heatran, Bisharp, Landorus-T, Thundurus, and Amoonguss. Mamoswine also possesses a great Attack stat, however its mediocre Speed makes it reliant on speed control to unlock its full potential. Mamoswine's slow Speed is mitigated by its access to a priority Ice-type move in the form of Ice Shard, which allows it to snipe common Pokemon that would otherwise outspeed it, such as Shaymin-S and Landorus-T. Mamoswine's typing, however, doesn't allow it to switch into many Pokemon and makes it weak to a lot of common types in the metagame, such as Fighting-, Water-, and Fire-types. This allows common Pokemon in the metagame, such as Keldeo, Terrakion, and Mega Charizard Y, to check it; Mamoswine is also completely walled against Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Mamoswine, however, is one of the best checks to the Genies. As an Ice-type, Mamoswine faces competition from Kyurem-B, which offers the same coverage moves but can hit Rotom-W and Rotom-H for super effective damage. As a Ground-type Choice Scarf users user, Mamoswine faces competition from Landorus-T, which possesses more noteworthy attributes and better overall support to its teammates, such as Intimidate and a better typing. Mamoswine, however, can hit Grass-types for super effective damage, such as Amoonguss, and does not make the rest of the team susceptible to Bisharp. Landorus-T is usually the better pick, unless the team has trouble with bulky Grass-types or Defiant users.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Icicle Crash is a stronger, more reliable Ice-type STAB move that hits single targets harder, such as against Amoonguss. Icicle Spear, while not as reliable as Icicle Crash, allows Mamoswine to break sashes on Pokemon such as Breloom. Earthquake is a Ground-type STAB move [You use STAB in different ways, which is a bit odd. Example: "Ice-type STAB move" when referring to Icicle Crash, yet you change to "Earthquake is a STAB". I've changed them to match.] that has great synergy with Mamoswine's Ice-type STAB options by giving it the ability to hit Fire- and Steel-types super effectively. Rock Slide allows Mamoswine to hit Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y and Talonflame super effectively while Stone Edge is a stronger alternative Rock-type coverage move. Ice Shard allows Mamoswine to snipe opposing weakened Pokemon. It can also be used as a means to prepare against Trick Room, as Mamoswine is dead weight under it. Superpower allows Mamoswine to hit Ferrothorn, Kyureum-Black, and Mega Kangaskhan super effectively. Keep in mind, however, that Ferrothorn and Mega Kangaskhan needs need a bit of prior damage in order for Superpower to KO them, as both can OHKO Mamoswine.

Set Details
========

Mamoswine's bulk isn't the best so there really isn't a need to invest in it. A Jolly nature is preferred with Choice Scarf because it allows Mamoswine to outrun max Speed Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Thick Fat is the preferred ability because it can allow Mamoswine to tank weaker Fire-type moves, such as allowing it to survive a Fire Blast from Modest Life Orb Hydreigon.

Usage Tips
========

It isn't recommended to switch Mamoswine into attacks due to its frail defenses combined with its and [Repeating "its" can be a bit annoying to read.] horrible defensive typing. Mamoswine, however, can switch into weaker spread-reduced moves such as Rock Slide. Mamoswine is a bit hard to get in, but is really hard to force out. In that sense, it is best to set the field in favorable conditions for Mamoswine, such as by baiting in Pokemon that can't beat Mamoswine, having a good support partner, or setting up speed control, so that it can pressure the opponent's team.

Team Options

Mega Charizard Y is a great teammate for Mamoswine, as it has near perfect synergy with it. Mega Charizard Y resists all of Mamoswine's weaknesses except for Water-type attacks, which has weakened power under Drought anyways anyway. [Informal version of "anyway".]Mega Charizard Y greatly appreciates Mamoswine's ability to remove Heatran and opposing Electric- and Rock-types; Mamoswine can also remove Dragon-types that resist Mega Charizard Y's attacks. Mega Charizard Y, in turn, checks Rotom-W and Keldeo. Between Heat Wave and Earthquake, the foe will not have many options to switch in. Electric-types, in general, are good partners for Mamoswine, as they are able to check bulky Water-types that Mamoswine has trouble beating. Mamowine, in turn, checks Landorus-T and bulky Grass-types that most Electric-types have trouble against. Talonflame is a more offensive Pokemon with access to speed control. Talonflame checks Steel-types that threaten Mamoswine while Mamoswine can check Heatran and opposing Rock-types. Both of them, however, are walled heavily by Rotom-A. Aegislash checks Terrakion and Mega Metagross, both of which are huge threats to Mamoswine, while also having access to Wide Guard to protect itself from Mamoswine's Earthquake. Mamoswine, in turn, can check Pokemon that threaten Aegislash, such as Bisharp, Heatran, and Landorus-T. Cresselia is not only immune to Earthquake, but is greatly benefitted by Mamoswine's ability to remove Steel-types that threaten it, such as Aegislash and Bisharp. Mamoswine is also great against common Sleep sleep-inducers users, such as Amoonguss and Breloom, which can give Cresselia more opportunities to set up with Calm Mind. Partners that can beat Rotom-W are greatly appreciated by Mamoswine. Venusaur, a common Pokemon on sun teams, can help in that sense while also providing coverage against bulky Water-types. Latios resist resists both of Rotom-W's STAB attacks and can threaten it out with a Draco Meteor; Psyshock also helps against Mamoswine's Fighting-type weakness.

Moves
========

Icicle Crash can be used should Mamoswine want a more reliable Ice-type STAB,. however, Icicle Spear is an another option, as it allows Mamoswine to break opposing Focus Sash users, such as against Breloom. Superpower allows Mamoswine to hit Ferrothorn and Mega Kangaskhan super effectively. Protect allows Mamoswine to scout or guard it from a super effective hit, that would most likely OHKO it due to its mediocre bulk.

Set Details
========

Mamoswine's bulk isn't the best so there isn't a need to invest in it at all. Maximum Attack EVs with an Adamant ensures that Mamoswine has maximum damage output. Maximum Speed EVs allows Mamoswine to outrun Adamant Bisharp, Adamant Breloom, and 200 Speed Modest Heatran, however, a Jolly nature can be used to ensure that Mamoswine will outrun Breloom and Heatran. Should Mamoswine choose to run Life Orb, 29 HP IVs optimizes Mamoswine's HP for Life Orb. Thick Fat is the preferred ability because it can allow Mamoswine to tank weaker Fire-type moves, such as Fire Blast from Modest Life Orb Hydreigon. Mamoswine also does not mind the Life Orb recoil, as its defenses are frail to begin with.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Mamoswine's frail defenses and terrible defensive typing, it isn't recommended to switch it into attacks, unless it is a weaker, spread-reduced attack, such as Rock Slide. Speed control is greatly appreciated, as it can allow Mamoswine to abuse its good coverage options. Ice Shard should be used when Mamoswine is facing a frail, fast threat, such as Shaymin-S and Deoxys-A. Mamoswine is a bit hard to get in, but is really hard to force out. In that sense, it is best to set the field in favorable conditions for Mamoswine, such as by baiting in Pokemon that can't beat Mamoswine, having a good support partner, or setting up speed control, so that it can pressure your opponent's team.

Speed control users are generally great partners for Mamoswine. Togekiss can redirect Fighting- and Grass-type attacks aimed at Mamoswine while also providing crucial Tailwind support. Thundurus can provide needed Thunder Wave support and also has Thunderbolt to hit bulky Water-types that Mamoswine has trouble hitting. Talonflame is a more offensive Pokemon with access to Tailwind. It checks Steel-types that threaten Mamoswine while Mamoswine can check Heatran and opposing Rock-types. Both of them, however, are walled heavily by Rotom-A. Venusaur, a common Pokemon on sun teams, can help in that sense while also providing coverage against Grass-types. Latios resist resists both of Rotom-W's STAB attacks and can threaten it out with a Draco Meteor; Latios also can threaten Fighting-types with its Psychic-type STAB move.

Other Options
=============

Mamoswine doesn't have many other options it can use. A Choice Band can be used to maximize its damage output. Knock Off is an alternative support move, [No need for a comma here.]that can allow Mamoswine to cripple defensive threats by removing their Sitrus Berry or Leftovers,. while Stealth Rock can cripple opposing Mega Charizard Y, Talonflame, and break Focus Sash.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Intimidate and Burns**: Intimidate users, such as Scrafty and Gyarados, can switch in and lower Mamoswine's attacks Attack, then force it out with their STAB options. Rotom-H can come in on any of Mamoswine's standard attacks and cripple it with Will-O-Wisp.

**Typing Advantage**: Mamoswine doesn't have the best defenses in the world so most super effective hits will more than likely OHKO it. Bulky Water-types, such as Suicune and Rotom-W, which Mamoswine can't touch at all, don't mind taking it a hit from Mamoswine and can force it out with its STAB options. Faster Fighting-types, such as Keldeo and Terrakion, can force Mamoswine out with its Fighting-type STAB moves.

**Speed**: One of the best ways to beat Mamoswine is to make sure your Pokemon are faster, than it so that they can abuse Mamoswine's terrible bulk and defensive typing and OHKO it before it can hit your Pokemon with its powerful STAB options. Priority moves, such as Aqua Jet from Azumarill and Mach Punch from Breloom and Conkeldurr, can deal massive damage to or OHKO Mamoswine. Deoxys-A can outspeed Choice Scarf Mamoswine and OHKO it with Superpower.

**Utility Moves**: Wide Guard from Pokemon such as Aegislash, can completely stop Mamoswine in it's tracks by stopping its Earthquake. Fake Out can break Mamoswine's potential Focus Sash.

**Speed Control**: Tailwind can allow Pokemon that Mamoswine normally outspeeds to outspeed it and OHKO it instead, such as Breloom and Bisharp. The same can be said for Trick Room, which turns the fact that Mamoswine can outspeed those threats into a disadvantage.[/quote]

[OVERVIEW]
Mamoswine possesses a very good offensive presence and offensive typing, with Ice and Ground being able to hit common Pokemon in the metagame, such as Heatran, Bisharp, Landorus-T, Thundurus, and Amoonguss. Mamoswine also possesses a great Attack stat, however though its mediocre Speed makes it reliant on speed control to unlock its full potential. This allows common Pokemon in the metagame, such as Keldeo, Terrakion, and Mega Charizard Y, to check it; Mamoswine is also completely walled against by Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Mamoswine, however, is one of the best checks to the Genies Thundurus and Landorus-T. Landorus-T is usually the better pick, (RC) unless the team has trouble with bulky Grass-types or Defiant users.

Icicle Crash is a stronger, more reliable Ice-type STAB move that hits single targets harder (What move are you comparing it to?), such as against Amoonguss. Icicle Spear, while not as reliable as Icicle Crash, allows Mamoswine to break sashes Focus Sashes on Pokemon such as Breloom. Earthquake is a Ground-type STAB move [You use STAB in different ways, which is a bit odd. Example: "Ice-type STAB move" when referring to Icicle Crash, yet you change to "Earthquake is a STAB". I've changed them to match. Snobalt was here- great catch Luka!] that has great synergy with Mamoswine's Ice-type STAB options by giving it the ability to hit Fire- and Steel-types super effectively. Rock Slide allows Mamoswine to hit Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y and Talonflame super effectively, (AC) while Stone Edge is a stronger alternative Rock-type coverage move (state what it does differently).

I also don't really like Stone Edge being called "reliable" hehe, but that's less of a concern. You can also add something like "which these targets are frequently paired up with" at the end of the sentence if you want to preserve that point; at the very least that flows a lot better) cannot be blocked by Wide Guard. Partners that can beat Rotom-W are greatly appreciated by Mamoswine. Venusaur, a common Pokemon on sun teams, can help in that sense while also providing coverage against bulky Water-types. Latios resists both of Rotom-W's STAB attacks and can threaten it out with a Draco Meteor; Psyshock also helps against to cover Mamoswine's Fighting-type weakness.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Mamoswine's bulk isn't the best, so there isn't a need to invest in it at all. Maximum Attack EVs with an Adamant nature ensures ensure that Mamoswine has maximum damage output. Maximum Speed EVs allows Mamoswine to outrun Adamant Bisharp, Adamant Breloom, and 200 Speed Modest Heatran; however, a Jolly nature can be used to ensure that Mamoswine will outrun all Breloom and Heatran. Should Mamoswine choose to run Life Orb, 29 HP IVs optimizes optimize Mamoswine's HP for Life Orb. Thick Fat is the preferred ability because it can allow Mamoswine to tank Fire-type moves (RC; keep the comma if you mean it can tank /all/ Fire-type moves, but I don't believe that's the case) such as Fire Blast from Modest Life Orb Hydreigon. Mamoswine also does not mind the Life Orb recoil, as its defenses are frail bad (a numerical value can't be frail) to begin with.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Mamoswine's frail defenses frailty (or "low defenses", but don't blend the two together please) and terrible defensive typing, it isn't recommended to switch it into attacks except for weaker spread attacks, such as Rock Slide.

========

Mega Charizard Y is a great teammate for Mamoswine, as it has near-perfect synergy with it because it resists all of Mamoswine's weaknesses except for Water-type attacks, which have are weakened power under Drought anyway. Aegislash checks Terrakion and Mega Metagross, both of which are huge threats to Mamoswine, while also having and has access to Wide Guard to protect itself from Mamoswine's Earthquake. Mamoswine, in turn, can check Pokemon that threaten Aegislash, such as Bisharp, Heatran, and Landorus-T. Cresselia not only is not only immune to Earthquake (RC) but also greatly benefits from Mamoswine's ability to remove Steel-types that threaten it, such as Aegislash and Bisharp. Mamoswine is also great against common sleep inducers, such as Amoonguss and Breloom, which can give Cresselia more opportunities to set up with Calm Mind.

Other Options
=============

===================

**Intimidate and Burns**: Intimidate users (RC) such as Scrafty and Gyarados (RC) can switch in, lower Mamoswine's Attack, and then force it out with their STAB options.

**Speed**: One of the best ways to beat Mamoswine is to make sure your Pokemon are faster than it so that they can utilize take advantage of Mamoswine's terrible bulk and defensive typing and OHKO it before it can hit your Pokemon with its powerful STAB options. Priority moves (RC) such as Aqua Jet from Azumarill and Mach Punch from Breloom and Conkeldurr (RC) can deal massive damage to or OHKO Mamoswine.

The same can be said for Trick Room, which turns the fact that Mamoswine can outspeed those threats into a disadvantage.

don't c/p sections please !_! we kinda don't want that sort of unprofessionalism in our analyses...
