Hello everyone! Apparently Leethoof and Deadfox want to see who's Masquerain is better, so let's oblige them!

Well, with that out of the way, let's see the Masquerains.

Deadfox's Masquerain:

Masquerain [Gaze] (F)
Nature: Modest (+1 SpA, -1 Att)

Type: Bug/Flying
Bug: Bug STAB; More mobility in dense brush or forest conditions. Gains an extra guaranteed attack on multi-hit moves.
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Immune to Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Stats:
HP: 100
Atk: Rank 1 (-)
Def: Rank 3
SpA: Rank 4 (+)
SpD: Rank 3
Spe: 60
Size Class: 1
Weight Class: 1
Base Rank Total: 16

EC: 6/6
MC: 0
DC: 5/5

Abilities:

Intimidate: (Can be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing their Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again as an Action, and will affect all opponents.

Unnerve: (Innate) The Pokemon's presense causes immense tension in the opponent, preventing them from eating a held Berry. Natural Gift may still be used.

I have a Flying Gem for some reason. Sounds good to me.

Stun Spore ~ Air Slash [Gem] ~ Air Slash [Gem]
If he hits you with Stun Spore, then use Quiver Dance A2.

"It's a bit of a gamble with chance Gaze, but I think it will pay off."

Substitute (15 HP) > Icy Wind > Air Slash
IF
you lose the speed tie action 1 THEN change action 1 to Evasive Agility

I am not accepting Deadfox's substitution as valid. If you lose the speed tie action 1, then you are moving second. In order to find out who wins the speed tie on action 1, you must use a priority 0 move. Thus, the sub is null. Typon and IAR would agree with me.

Abilities: Intimidate, Unnerve
Other:
Stun Spore-Air Slash [Gem]-Air Slash[Gem]

In round one of the Masquerain stare-down, Leethoof’s Masquerain wins the critical A1 speed tie. While Gaze could have dodged with an evasive agility, the illegitimacy of the substitution means that it takes the stun spore head on, and creates a useless sub to boot! Baroness takes the advantage on A2, wrecking the sub while Gaze is rendered immobile by a current of electricity. That’s gotta hurt! The first round ends with both masquerains launching Air Slashes at each other, Baroness outdamaging by a bit with her flying gem. It seems that Leethoof is off to a great start in this match!

"Yeah, I think we knew that substitution was folly hey Gaze? We kinda chanced it all on that speed tie and came out on the losing end. We still fight for crappy bug mon pride, however!"

Air Slash x3
IF
Air Slash THEN Evasive Agility, but do no play this sub on successive actions

Well, it was a 50/50 chance of either one of us winning. Thats kind of how grudgematches like this work -.-, especially with Masquerains.

I am interpreting playing the sub as an attempt, not as successful attempt. Probably doesn’t matter anyways.

Baroness uses Quiver Dance -8 en
+1 Spa, Spe, SpD
Gaze to move 71/100 yes
Gaze uses Air Slash -9 en

Gaze to move 10/100 no
Baroness uses Air Slash -5 en
(8+3+1.5-2)*1.5+1.75=17.5

Baroness uses Air Slash -9 en
(8+3+1.5+3)*1.5=23.25
Gaze to move 15/100 yes
Gaze uses Air Slash -5 en
To crit 46/100 no
(8+3+1.5)*1.5-1.75=17

Air Slash [Gem] ~ Air Slash [Gem] ~ Air Slash [Gem]
If Protective/Evasive, chill and move actions down.
If Endure, then Whirlwind and move actions down.

"I don't think all is quite lost yet Gaze. Time to show some of your real zippyness. Oh and pray you don't end up paralyzed again."

Evasive Agility + Double Team (4 clones) > Cooldown > Icy Wind
IF
you are fully paralyzed action 1 THEN change remaining actions to Evasive Agility > Icy Wind

Evasive Agility and Double Team are both essentially moving really fast around the room so I think the combo is viable.

And…we’re off to the final round! Gaze, thinking she’s clever, starts off with a…wait…wait….BZZZZT! In a critical action, Gaze is fully paralyzed! Baroness smacks it with a air slash that leaves it with barely any health remaining! Gaze, now free of paralysis but extremely behind on health, evades Baroness as it chills. On the critical speed tie on A3, Gaze…uses icy wind? Perhaps double team would have been better, because the decreased speed does nothing to stop Baroness from hitting Gaze with another Air Slash! And it’s done, ladies and gentlemen! Gaze is unable to battle, and Baroness is the superior Masquerain!
Ref ruling: Evasive Agility+Double Team will be used as a priority double team with no evasive effect. It doesn’t make sense to me to be making more targets to attack that are all evaded.
And dogfish/simonsays/jesseus says it should be a non-combo, but I think I’m going to pull the ref discretion card.
To paralyze 4/100
WHAT LOL.
Gaze is fully paralyzed!
Baroness uses Air Slash -9 en
To hit 13/100 yes
To crit 30/100 no

Actually screw this. Air Slash to hit 67/100 yes
Gaze dies
