Round 3: Paris, Pirates, and Pirouettes.

Welcome folks to beautiful Paris, where our contestants can enjoy puffy pastries and a battle atop the beautiful Eiffel Tower.

And apparently, get barraged by beret wearing audience members.

In any case, the audience launches two snails,a defense wine, and an Anchor at Krillowatt. That's gotta hurt. Ditto meanwhile get's a couple shots of Champaigne, 1000 proof. Neither of the other competitors get hit with anything...wait is that a burn heal.

*catches the burn heal, then...*

*SMACK* AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

"Uh, they can't sue us for that can they?"

"Yes, yes they can."

"Great..."

Anyway, onto the battle. Steelix opens up by Protecting, which turns out to be rather pointless. Krillowatt uses some spare glass shards from the wine bottles to make another substitute, while Ditto Digs. Wait what? Somehow he didn't fall through the floor, but any antics that defy physics won't be so lucky next time. In any case, Hydregion actually retaliates with a Blaze Steam combo that goes right past ditto, while Ditto comes up and smacks Hydregion. Steelix meanwhile just hits himself for not doing much

Hydregion had to cooldown from that display of accidental stupidity. In the meantime, Krillowatt chills to preserve precious energy. Steelix, sore that he didn't do much last round, uses an Earthquake that almost kills off Krillowatt's substitute, while Ditto finishes off Hydregion with a final Ice Fang.
Pre-Round:

"Again, the arena did almost nothing! ARGH!"

"You called Cap'n Maxim!?"

"Oh, Diagnos. Well, are you done issuing idiotic challenges that NOBODY but an idiot would fail."

"Hold on matey, I'll check the results." *leaves the room*

"Honestly, how stupid can you get."

"ARGH, I'll send you both to Davey Jones's Locker!" *sounds of a sword fight commence*

"...THE BLAZES! How did TWO people fail that. Typon, Elevator Music, you guys are idiots!"

"Maxim, that's no way to treat your guests. That said, I think Sovereign called up. He wants to issue a challenge, and he's picked out a new arena."

"Alright, let's see it. Egypt eh?"

Arena: Pyramids of Giza
Here we are in beautiful Egypt, inside some of the oldest structures still standing. After watching Maxim's fields be ineffectual, Sovereign has rigged this place like nothing else. The lights have been dimmed to barely visible levels, giving every pokemon's attacks -20% Accuracy, except for area moves. If an area move is used however, a Cofagrigus will come out, use a standard accuracy Will-o-Wisp (or an Energy Ball, if the target is already burned), and give that pokemon Mummy for the next 3 rounds. Dark, Psychic, and Ghost type moves will have +2 BAP due to the mystic aura around this place. Pokemon of the above types will also only be detracted by 10% acc. This better do something relevant or else the next arena is going to be even crazier.

Summary:
-20% Accuracy for all single target moves (reduced to -10% for Dark, Psychic, and Ghost types)
If area moves are used, that pokemon will be infected with Mummy for 3 rounds, and a Modest Cofagrigus will use either Will-o-Wisp or Energy Ball
Ghost, Psychic, and Dark moves have +2 BAP.

Challenge: Use only non-STAB moves
Exactly what it says on the tin.

"That crazy Dusclops, let's see what kind of madness happens this round."

PM Actions.

lol, I guess that's what I get for ordering when I was high...

(also my Steelix should have also taken damage from burn, since you smacked away the Burn Heal like a meanie............. eq probably also should have done a little less or something)

...Oops, looks like I'm going over DQ again.

I should have this reffed either today or tomorrow. So hold onto your hats!

Round 4: Into the Darkness we go!

Welcome back folks! Today we have a special guest to ref this round, my Dusclops Sovereign, known to some of you as Dominos.

"Yes, what kind of idiot are you, naming me after a pizza joint?"

"Hey, I was trying to go for a "Domination" stick."

"Whatever, I'll destroy you later."

"In any case, the first action opens up with Krillowatt (how I detest those things) using an Earth Power on Steelix, which does reasonable damage. Gallade however flanks Steelix and hits it with a powerful Leaf Blade, but it does little against the steel hide. I guess Wanderer never got the memo that Steelix is defensive. Steelix, finding itself bombarded from all sides, goes into a deep sleep, which it uses to recover some health and a burn. Good move by Elevator I must say so. I should use Steelix in my plans for world domination! Well, he isn't getting hit on all sides, Ditto seems sore that Hydreigon was attacking it, and hits Gallade with a fierce Double-Edge."

"The second round begins with somewhat of an anomaly. Krillowatt attacks Steelix with an Ice Beam to chill it out of that rest, but misses due to the low lighting. Even more mysterious, Gallade uses a Will-o-Wisp on Ditto seeing how well it worked on Steelix, but he also misses! It's all going according to my fiendish plan. Meanwhile Steelix continues sleeping, it's rest not being disturbed at all. Ditto tries to hit Steelix with a tail with Aquatic energy, but he also misses! Muahahahahahahahaha!"

"Dusclops, did you use your psychic powers to make these guys miss?"

"Of course not, that would take out all of the fun."

"Then why did EVERYONE miss the second action."

"I'm not sure, I think your Porygon-Z RNG program is glitching again."

"THE SQUARE ROOT OF TWO IS FIVE!"

"Perhaps. Anyway, where are we heading next Nora?"

"Well, Major Ursa has called up some relatives in Siberia, and is requesting we land there. I'll put him on the intercom."

Arena: Siberia
Despite being a huge chunk of Russia, few if any major cities are found here. Why? Well the winter of course! Yep, we've dropped into the middle of Siberia in the middle of winter, meaning things are going to be brutal. Hail will be ever present in this arena, and the stuff is so thick it'll hit twice each action. Ouch! Ice typed moves will be boosted in power by 2, as per usual. But that's not all of your frozen woes, oh no. each pokemon has a ten percent chance each action of not moving that action, and another ten percent of being Deep Frozen. As if that weren't enough, a rather annoyed pack of Beartic have moved in and are watching the battle, and have a 50% chance of using a referee chosen move on a random pokemon (pokemon is chosen first). Can our battlers hope to survive this winter horrorland?

Summary:
+2 BAP Ice Moves
Unremovable Super Hail (hits twice per action)
10% chance of not moving
10% chance of Deep Freeze
50% chance of Beartic Attack (they have access to the whole movepool, only neutral natured though).

"Welcome to Siberia contestants! I'm Major Ursa, the Ursaring, and I expect you to follow any orders I give you! You've probably been on a long hard journey, and you're probably expecting some rest. WELL FORGET ABOUT IT!"

Challenge: Use no Chills

"If I see any of you idiots using Chills, I'll report you to my superiors for incompetence!"

"Major, what have I told you about being rude to foreigners."

"Oh, General Winter."

"General Winter?"

"Yes, I'm General Winter, the Beartic. I wish you all good luck. Oh and Maxim, don't drop your contestants off like you normally do, Russia's flak cannons have you on lock."

"Flak cannons you say?"

"...Yeah...?"

"Listen up contestants! Have a nice trip!"

It was then that the plane flipped upside down, opened the ceiling, and dumped off all of the contestants.

"
Why do these Americans never listen to me. Fire Base, hold fire..."

Round 5: In Soviet Russia, Winter Freezes you! Wait...

Alright, let's get this round started.

Krillowatt starts off this round by blasting Steelix with an absolutely massive amount of water, which combines with some of the ice (Hail) and deals more than enough damage to Knock it out! Gallade then decides to turn on Krillowatt, attacking it with a Leaf Blade dance. Ditto decides to use the field to his advantage and attack Steelix with an Ice Fang, but Steelix is already knocked out! The Beartic start getting restless, and one of them attacks Ditto with some Briny water. Ouch.

Krillowatt then turns his attention towards Gallade, throwing Scalding water at him. Gallade makes a move towards attacking with another Leaf Blade, but then Siberia bites him in the rear and he get's deep frozen. That's gotta hurt, though not nearly as much as Ditto's Skull Bash. The Beartic seem reasonably content with this outcome, and let the challengers out unscathed.

"Ah yes, thank you General Winter for letting us use this battleground!"

"You are welcome."

The contestants and Maxim go back inside the plane, and they take off.

"All right, where to next Nora?"

"Well, I just got a call from Protea, that lazy Blissey. She has apparently designed some sort of arena to amuse her, and asks that we go there."

"Cool, let's head out---"

"Uh, sir, actually the arena's on Midway Island, part of Asia, and we're supposed to be on track to Australia."

"Bah! It's close enough! Chart our route to Midway!"

*Sigh* "Very Well sir."

Arena: Midway Island
I know, not technically part of Australia, but where else are you going to go? This historic battleground of World War Two has plenty of Hazards for our intrepid contestant. Not least of these hazards is some oddly placed military goods, including bombs! The arena itself is a standard one, with no banned moves or anything, and several buildings to take cover in. However, what is special is that each contestant can pick up one of a number of military surplus goods:
MRE: Recovers 15 HP and 12 Energy, but has a 45% chance of confusion due to how terrible it tastes.
Pokemon Amplifier: Allows the next move to be used as a combo while only costing 2*EC of that move. It can only be picked up the first action, and will cause a cooldown next round however.
Bomb: Does a flat 12 Damage to target pokemon, regardless of stats, but has a 20% chance of blowing up in the user's face and affecting them instead.
Tank: Acts like a free 25 HP Substitute, but forces the pokemon to only be able to use the moves Shoot Cannon (Attacker), an 8 BAP Physical Steel Attack with a 10% chance to flinch and Shoot Gun (Target), an 8 BAP Special Steel attack with no extra effects. Also, the tank's speed is so bad that all of its attacks have -1 priority. This can carry over to future rounds.
Final Gambit Machine: Allows the pokemon to use Final Gambit that action.
Using each of these things costs an action to pick up and use, except for the tank and Pokemon Amplifier which take 1 action to prepare. To pick up an item, post Use (Item) [Target if appropriate]. For instance, using a Pokemon Amplifier and a Flamethrower will work something like this.

Use Pokemon Amplifier~Flamethrower Combo

Challenge: No Challenge.

As they go above Midway Island, Protea comes onto the Intercom.

"Hello vassals, it is I! Protea, queen of the Blisseys and all around perfect specimen. Now then, you'll see some weapons here that I have placed, some surplus after conquering some nation of Blisseys..."

Nora and Maxim whisper to each other.

"Should we tell her that country doesn't actually exist?"

"Nah, besides, I can't get her off my case if I don't play along to her highness." ^_^

Protea continued speaking.

"Now then, I'd like you to fight for my amusement. Maxim, prepare the royal surprise."

At this point, Maxim pushed a big, pink button with a skull on it, which launched up all the contestants into the air on rockets, then the rockets detached and blew up into fireworks, as the parachutes took them to the island.

Alright, here's how it's going to work. Elevator Music will now post his/her next Pokemon, then we all PM actions (you can PM beforehand if you wish).

Yeah, it is. Sorry about that. I'll probably get this reffed tomorrow evening, though this isn't a certainty. I do have to travel for some family matters tomorrow though, so reffing will be slower than usual.

Again, sorry for the delay.

Reffing late for my own 1K celebration, what will I think of next?

Round 6: Lesser Battle of Midway

Welcome back everyone. Today we fight at scenic Midway with surplus military goods. What kind of craziness will await us? Only one way to find out!

Now then, Whimsicott finally dispatches of that Ditto with a well-aimed Grass Knot. Good thing too, Ditto was going for that Tank over there. Krillowatt however wants to stay in this fight as long as possible, so he gulps down an MRE. However, I think it might have been a bit too nauseous for him, as he became Severely Confused. Gallade however, stays a frozen Popsicle due to his trip in Siberia. Too bad for him, he couldn't pull off that Will-o-Wisp.

Whimsicott now turns her attention towards Gallade, and sends out some Leech Seeds. With that Big Root it is carrying, it'll do massive damage to Gallade until they wear off. Krillowatt manages to get through his confusion, and sends some Scalding water at Gallade, which Burns him! How much punishment can one guy take. Gallade finally thaws out though, and throws a Bomb at Krillowatt, nullifying much of that MRE.

How will the next battle end? Who knows?

"Alright then, finally that blasted Broken Ditto is dead. Where to next?"

"Now hold on Maxim. I, the queen, demand another round so that my weapons of war will get some use, and I will sit here until you submit."

*1 minute later*

"Say Max, was it really necessary to dump Protea into the Ocean? You know she can't swim."

"Relax, she's too fat to sink into the water, and I called the Coast Guard for good measure. In any case, where to next Nora?"

"Well, Eruca, the Eevee, just gave us a call. I'll patch her through."

"Oh, hey Maxim. How have you been? My secret mission is complete, I've managed to convince these guys that I'm an elf (honestly, how can you be so stupid) and I've managed to clear everyone out with a fake fire alarm so we can battle."

"Excellent! Everyone, prepare to go to the North Pole!"

Arena: Santa's Workshop
Okay, so this isn't Antarctica either, but it's close enough! Anyway, we've leased Santa's workshop for this next round, and boy will this be a doosy. All moves are allowed, but there are plenty of surprises here. Every Pokemon can use the move Present, but it also has an extra effect, depending on the damage dealt:
Damage with 12 BAP: 10%: Will dissolve opponent's energy equal to the damage dealt, up to a maximum of 20
Damage with 8 BAP: 30%: Will cause Splash Damage to every other pokemon, at half base power.
Damage with 4 BAP: 40%: Deals 3 Damage each action for 4 Actions
Heal with 6 BAP: 20%: Will cause a Pain Split immediately after Healing
Even more amazing, the trainers can choose the typing of the move, just put it before the move (e.g. Psychic Present (Target)). If the pokemon is immune to the type, the extra effect still applies. If a pokemon is hit with splash damage, the same resistances/immunities applies.
As if this wasn't crazy enough, each pokemon can also use Metronome if they so desire. Can our contestants survive?

Summary:
All moves usable
All Pokemon get Present, with various effects
All Pokemon can use Metronome, as normal

"So, do you have a challenge Eruca?"

"Yes I do! And I've got the perfect one for this arena!"

Challenge: Use at least One Present

"Hmm, interesting."

"Yup, I doubt anyone will use the Metronome, but I had to add one more thing into this arena. In any case, happy landings ;)"

At this point, Maxim managed to drop off the now wary contestants by having Nora melt a hole through where everybody was standing. At a safe pressure of course.

Again, Waterwarrior will send out his next pokemon, then everyone will send in their PMs.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK SHITTITY FUCK FUCK.

Houdin! Avenge Beast Boy's demise... and take an Exp. Share, as I really have nothing else, so help you me!

Blast it, why haven't I reffed this? Probably because my last attempt at reffing this round ended in catastrophe when I forgot Krillowatt's Confusion screwing over the RNG order.

Anyways, placeholder. I'll probably try reffing this round again right now, but if something screwy happens, I'll for sure ref it Sunday.

Arena: Buschart Gardens
A famous botanical garden in beautiful Canada, this arena has, predictably, been adapted by Alurani (Maxim's Roserade) into a death course. The arena itself takes place in the Italian-style gardens, which is a walled courtyard with a fountain in the center suitable for any Water moves. In any case, Grass moves get a +3 BAP Bonus. The main feature though is the beautiful flowers...which will constantly spew out spores that can cause all sorts of nasty status effects, a 10% chance of inducing burn, a 10% chance of inducing Light sleep, a 10% chance of inducing Toxic Poison, a 10% chance of inducing Light Freeze, and a 10% chance of 15% Paralysis will be inflicted upon each pokemon both rounds. However, if there's one thing Alurani hates, it's a heavily slanted match, so she's made it so that these spores can go through Substitute, and ignore Grass STAB descriptions. As if that wasn't enough, Alurani will join the fight too! Due to this, all trainers can make an extra sub to account for Alurani's shenanigans, but said sub can only deal with her actions. Can you survive this massive headache of an arena? Let's find out!

Alurani's Data:

Roselia(*) [Alurani] (F)
Nature: Timid (Multiples Base Speed by 1.15 and provides a 12% flat accuracy boost on all attacks. This accuracy boost is added to their Dodge Command chance; Subtracts One (1) Rank from Attack)

Type:
Grass: Grass STAB; Immunity to Leech Seed and Worry Seed. 50% reduction in status effect chance of oncoming "powder" attacks. More mobile in areas with strong natural light sources. Superior senses in tall grass and forest areas. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus.
Poison: Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic, see and breath through smog/smokescreens/haze uninhibited. Able to use Wrap and Bind without losing focus. Superior senses in urban settings.

Abilities:
Natural Cure: (Innate) This Pokemon’s body has the ability to heal itself of status afflictions over time, it goes into effect six (6) actions after being inflicted with a status. In switch battles, this Pokemon heals all status effects when switched out.
Poison Point: (Can be Disabled) This Pokemon’s spikes/quills/thorns are coated in poison, and there is a 30% chance of poisoning any foe that uses a contact attack on this Pokemon. When disabled, all of this Pokemon's attacks that inflict regular poison will inflict Toxic poison (with the same chance of effect).
Technician (DW): (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects.

Round 8: Deadly Plants.

Hello everyone, this is Alurani. Nora is holding the camera right now while Maxim is busy trying to deal with...legal issues from the previous rounds. In any case, last round saw lots of damage, and lots of Presents. Without further ado, let's get the round started.

Gallade actually uses a dash of trickery and combines Shadow Sneak and Leaf Blade into a Sneaky Leaves combo. He sneaks out of the battlefield and then comes back in dealing the killing blow to Krillowatt. A clever move by Gallade! However, Alakazam decides to try to finish Gallade off, and sends out a Ball full of Energy towards him, dealing massive damage with the arena effects. Whimsicott, the dirty trickster, tries to Energy Ball Krillowatt, but to no avail. Finally, the Leech Seeds and burn finish Gallade off. That's two Knock Outs in one Action! However, I think Whimsicott is having too much fun lying around in that substitute, so I'll take care of that with a Sludge Bomb! Finally, the Plants send out some spores, but didn't do anything, for now.

Alakazam starts off the next action with a Hidden Power on Whimsicott that does pretty good damage, especially with the Substitute out of the way. Whimsicott tries to finish Gallade off with an Energy Ball, but he was down as well! Now I think I'll hit Alakazam with my signature Mega Drain! That was a pretty good hit, and I feel refreshed already ^_^. In any case, the spores go out again and...wow. Whimsicott got put to sleep and Alakazam was Frozen! That's going to hurt next round!

What will happen next round I wonder? I guess there's only one way to find out, assuming the match doesn't get cancelled due to legal issues.

"Alright, I'm back. I had to pay an arm and a leg, but I managed to pay all of the legal costs with the network's money!"

"Of course you used the network's money. Anyway, Alurani has finished reffing while you were away, and now we're heading towards the Amazon after Korangir found a nice spot for a battle."

"That Aerodactyl? Finding a crazy arena doesn't seem like his style."

Arena: The Amazon Rainforest-Lagoon.
Yeah, this was pretty much inevitable. You're stuck right in the middle of the deadly Amazon Rainforest. The arena itself is in the middle of a swamp-like lagoon where the water goes to your ankle. However, there's a bigger problem in store, ravenous Carvanha have made their home here, and they don't like the intrusion. As if that wasn't enough, they've also made their home with regular piranhas. The regular piranhas will deal 3 damage to each pokemon per action, while the Adamant Carvanha will use one of Bite, Ice Fang, Waterfall, Double-Edge. It's not all bad news though, if a competitor uses an electric attack targeted at the lagoon, the electricity will conduct and turn the attack into an area move (like Heat Wave or Discharge, though using the latter on the Lagoon will cause the standard effect)

Summary:
Continuous Rain
Piranha Swarm will do 3 Damage per action
Two Carvanha will use one of four randomly picked moves on a random opponent.
Electric attacks used on the Lagoon (i.e. Electric Attack (Lagoon)) will hit all opponents (standard rules apply.)\

Challenge: No Challenge

"Looks pretty good! Everyone, now for your complementary drink!"

Next Arena: Roman Colosseum
This arena will test your wit as well as your battling skills. This arena, as far as battling itself goes, isn't too special. There isn't any water source for Surf and such, but otherwise everything is as normal. However, each contestant will choose a weapon at the beginning to equip to his pokemon in addition to their standard item.
Short Sword: Will increase the pokemon's speed by 20%
Battleaxe: Will increase the Base Attack power of attacking moves by 2, but will slow the pokemon down by 20%
Bow: Gives all attacks +1 Priority, but only on ranged moves that deal damage (Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, Acid Spray, etc) and will force the pokemon to use only those moves
Shield: Reduces damage by 2 BAP

Challenge: Judging
The main gimmick of this arena however, is Zant, my Electabuzz, who will judge the contestants using the following formula:

(Damage given)*2-(Damage Taken)*1.5+(Damage Avoided) [Via Protect, Evasive Agility, etc.]+(Support move Energy Cost)=Total Score

Whomever has the lowest score at the end of the round will not only take the standard penalty, but also an additional 10 Damage and 8 Energy!
