Scald,(AC) is Mega Swampert's main STAB attack,(AC) and what helps it to check many physical attackers in the metagame due to its burn chance. Earthquake is Mega Swampert's strongest move,(RC) and is usually needed to dish out a good amount of damage; out, in addition, it provides and has also excellent offensive coverage. Rest is Swampert's only means of recovery,(RC) and its best chance at avoiding a premature KO on not getting too worn down. Roar is a possible option over Sleep Talk in order which enables Mega Swampert to phaze out many sweepers that otherwise set up freely on this set, such as Reuniclus; however, althought it is not the optimal choice given it leaves leaving Mega Swampert unable to do anything when while asleep.

This set is supposed to be used as a reliable and durable defensive check to the many threats in of UU;,(RC) it must be backed up by other defensive teammates that can cover Mega Swampert's weaknesses,(RC) and help it to slowly worn wear down the opposing team. Pokemon such as Mandibuzz and Salamence that cover Mega Swampert's hindering weakness to Grass-types are its best teammates; these include Mandibuzz, and Salamance. Special walls are crucial greatly needed, as Mega Swampert will have a hard time switching-into or even checking powerful special attackers. Blissey and Florges are stellar Special walls, and the former also provides Wish support. Pokemon that can check set up sweepers such as Reuniclus, Suicune,(AC) and Snorlax, which have no problem to deal dealing with Mega Swampert, would be very much appreciated, as these are all very real threats threats are all extremely effective in UU. Taunt Jellicent can deal comfortably deal with these three. Curse,(AC) is the core of this set, giving to gives Mega Swampert the opportunity to clean teams with a few boosts,(RC) given due to its great defenses. Earthquake is your its main STAB attack,(RC) having a and has fantastic offensive coverage, besides being very easy to spam easily spammable. Rest is an essential move to this set, as without it you are simply getting Mega Swampert will be worned down very easily,(RC) due to Mega Swampert on account of its notable lack of recovery besides Rest. The Ice Punch + Earthquake combo are good provides enough coverage, with Ice Punch hitting the Flying-types and Levitate wielders that would completely wall this set, such as Salamence and Hydreigon. Scald is,(AC) however, a fantastic option if you face few problem to deal with the mentioned threats the aforementioned threats present few problems for your team, as Scald may offer is a very safe option to play most of the times,(RC) and makes setting up on physical attackers far easier.

Set Details

A specially defensive EV spread and a Careful nature are needed necessary in order to not get avoid being easily weakened by very powerful Special Attackers such as Hydreigon;. for instance, with this set,(AC) defensive Whimsicott's Giga Drain is a mere 3HKO. A Sassy nature is supposed to be used if Scald is chosen over Ice Punch prefered, due to it as this nature would not lowering Scald's damage. The Damp ability allows Swampert to switch in on an incoming Explosion from a Pokemon such as Forretress and proceed to set up. An alternate EV spread would be 248 HP / 16 Atk / 244 SpD backed up by an Adamant nature. This EV spread's selling point is that it checks checking Calm Mind Reuniclus,(RC) by easily 2HKOing it with a after just one Curse. Some other impressive feats are achievable, including 2HKOing Calm Florges,(RC) and OHKOing Hoopa after SR.,(AC) are within reach with this set.

Usage Tips
========

While Mega Swampert needs Grass-types and some wallbreakers to be taken out before attempting a_clean, try to use it actively,(RC) without attempting to clean the opposing early much early and without focusing too much on eliminating its checks and counters. Mega Swampert is a great defensive asset, and should be widely used during a game. Try to Mega Evolve as soon as possible,(AC) as Mega Evolution . Being Mega Evolved for this Swampert means having amazingly higher defensive status translates to significantly stronger defenses, so switch-ins are far easier. Unlike the Rain Dance,(RC) this set,(AC) this one can go performs fairly well against stall, especially when running Rest, which is essential when using Mega Swampert against stall this playstyle. Remember Keep in mind that this set has no problem against is not weak to Foul Play - and pretty much any wall in general- due to Curse boosting its Defense,(RC) and Rest avoiding undoing status.

Team Options

An usually very needed teammate - especially due to this set being widely used on stall - is a cleric. Prime examples include Umbreon and Florges. Clerics, prime examples of which include Umbreon and Florges, are crucial, especially since this set will largely be used against stall teams. Defensive Pokemon that cover Swampert's hindering Grass-type weakness,(AC) such as bulky Salamence and Mandibuzz,(AC) are vital very appreciated. Defensive Salamence and Mandibuzz are good examples. Special Walls are usually necessary needed, as this set isn't that suited to checking special wallbreakers.; This makes Blissey a phenomenal addition, as it is the best special wall in UU,(RC) and can also act as a cleric. Pokemon that can better handle very powerful physical attackers are appreciated, due to this set not being able to switch in on them most of the cases. The before mentioned Salamence can do the trick; other great teammates to suit this need include Mega Aggron and Nidoqueen. Because, for the most part, Mega Swampert cannot switch in on very powerful physical attackers, teammates that can, such as the aforementioned Salamence and Nidoqueen, are quite important. (You can't have MAggron and MPert, so I'm just excluding that example; however, if, for whatever reason, you'd like to add in regular Aggron, feel free) Hazard setters, such as Empoleon and Roserade, greatly ease make Mega Swampert's cleaning role substantially easier to fill. Wish passers also ease Swampert switch ins to attacks, and make Rest use less often. Great users include Blissey and Umbreon. Wish passers like Blissey and Umbreon allow Mega Swampert to switch into more attacks and use Rest less often.

This set is supposed (no need to axe this) to be used as a reliable and durable defensive check to the many threats in of UU;,(RC) it must be (ehh, i really don't like this one bc this seemingly contradicts with the previous sentence and that makes the semicolon really clunky bc that one makes it seem like what comes next is a clarification. just make it "and it must be backed up" etc, that works fine) backed up by other defensive teammates that can cover Mega Swampert's weaknesses,(RC) and help it to slowly worn wear down the opposing team. Some other impressive feats, including 2HKOing Calm Florges and OHKOing Hoopa without any boosts, are within reach with this spread.

Usage Tips
========

While Mega Swampert needs Grass-types and some wallbreakers to be taken out before attempting to clean, try to use it actively, without attempting to clean the opposing team too early. Mega Swampert is a great defensive asset and should be widely used during a game. Try to Mega Evolve as soon as possible, as Mega Evolving translates to significantly higher Attack and defenses, making switching in far easier. This set performs fairly well against stall, as since it can outlast several common opposing setup sweepers. Keep in mind that this set is not vulnerable to Foul Play; Mega Swampert has no problem setting up against the majority of the walls in the tier.

Team Options
========

Clerics, prime examples of which include Umbreon and Florges, are crucial, especially with this set being widely used on stall. Defensive Pokemon that cover Swampert's hindering Grass-type weekness, such as bulky Salamence and Mandibuzz, are very appreciated. Additional special walls are usually needed, as this set isn't that suited to checking some special wallbreakers. This makes Blissey a phenomenal addition, as it is the best option in UU and can also act as a cleric. Because, for the most part, Mega Swampert cannot switch in on very powerful physical wallbreakers, teammates that can, such as the aforementioned Salamence and Nidoqueen, are quite important. Entry hazard setters, such as Forretress and Roserade, make Mega Swampert's cleaning role substantially easier to fill. Wish passers like Blissey and Umbreon allow Mega Swampert to switch into more attacks are and use Rest less frequently.
