Water STAB: Can breathe and have excellent mobility when underwater, are less capable on land unless they are entirely amphibious.

Abilities:
Swift Swim: (Innate) The Pokemon with this ability moves extremely fast is slick, rainy conditions, doubling (x2) its speed in the rain.

I don't think I can evolve until after the match, but correct me if I'm wrong, as I would like to have an Electabuzz for this match.

You can evolve when you send out if the Pokemon could evolve with the EC it gets from the battle, so yes, you can use Electabuzz this battle.
However, it costs 20 EN
 
Waiting until Talkinglion decides to beat me or thrash me... lol. Also Jay, I think you need to do issue a challenge in the OP since we each only have one pokemon.

As TalkingLion sends out his Elekid, it begins to glow, as the glow begins to change shape and size, the evolution finished. Elekid evolved into Electabuzz.

Charles protects from SparkPlug's nasty Thunder Wave, preventing any paralysis that would have occured.

Sparkplug decides to set up a Light Screen to stop any special attacks from Charles' face. Charles decides to speed it up a little with an Agility.

Charles then starts dancing like a dragon to further boosts its stats. SparkPlug begins meditating, and it seems visibly stronger afterwards.

I'm not even doing calcs, there's nothing to calc.

Lets see how this works out for me.....
 
Charles decides to finally attack, and uses Waterfall on SparkPlug. SparkPlug fights back with a powerful Thunderpunch.

SparkPlug set up a protective barrier to stop Charles, who simply shrouded the Arena in a smokescreen. As SparkPlug lowered it protect, the energy dispersed the fog.

SparkPlug fired off another Thunder Wave, but Charles protected once again. Due to neither of them completing the challenge, they were both hit around by Wario, costing them a quarter of their health.

SparkPlug, fully aware of the challenge, fires off a speedy Thunderpunch. Charles, still quite paralyzed, struggles to use a Waterfall, but is still able to hit SparkPlug.

SparkPlug then fixed its stats with a Volt Switch, causing Charles to be in a critical condition. Charles tried to use Wake (Brine + Brine) on the half-health Electabuzz, but was too paralyzed to do anything.

SparkPlug fires off another Thunderpunch at Charles, fainting it and netting TalkingLion the win!
