mewtwo15026 vs. rewindman : Screwing up an Art Museum! (TutorRef: darkamber8828)

The two trainers approach the abandoned and nearly-empty Lilycove Art Museum. Instead of admiring the paintings or simply walking past the beautiful building, they feel a trainer-only urge to battle and completely ruin the museum. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for the museum, the local Chimecho security system is getting lazy, and lets up the Safeguard protecting the paintings! This could be a very messy battle coming up!

The arena and rules:
2v2 DOUBLES OPEN CHALLENGE
2 Recovers, 2 Rest uses, 5 chills
3-day DQ for all parties involved
Pokemon used may AT NO TIME be fully evolved. (Golbat? OK. Crobat? Uh-uh.)
Pokemon that don't evolve (i.e. Aerodactyl, Zangoose) may be used.
Switch=NO WAY
All Abilities
Items=lol

ARENA: Lilycove Art Museum, Post-Apocalypse

A level, open, 40x40-foot gallery lined with art. Since everyone's picked up a DSi or 3DS and moved to Sinnoh, nobody will notice if we touch the exhibits...well, we can't, because they're under the protection of a Chimecho's Safeguard. However, this Chimecho has grown bored in the abscence of patrons, and she has charmed the paintings so that attacks can pull water, rocks, branches, and whatnot from the frames.

TEAM I-LIVE-IN-CERULEAN-CAVE-AND-AM-ANNOYING-TO-CATCH

Shelgon(*) Uberwocky (F)
Nature: Naive (Special Defense reduced by *; A 15% increase in Base Speed [Rounded Up] and a +5% flat increase in accuracy (e.g. 85 Accuracy becomes 90) on this Pokemon's attacks.

Uberwocky, or Ubie for short, is a distant relative of the Rekkuza line. Her family holds that, through rigorous training, a Bagon will eventually sprout wings and fly. Ubie has held that belief ever since she left the egg; as a result, she is vicious in battle, fighting as if every match is her last.

Although she's gained a little girth, Ubie isn't completely discouraged. It doesn't look like she'll get off the ground at all, but she's still working as hard as ever. Ring a bell, too, just in case.

Flarelm(*) Balsamus (F)
Nature: Lonely (Attack increased by *; Defense reduced by *)

So there's a cactus in the Sky Pillar's lounge. Mewtwo spilled some caustic reagents on it, and in his resulting rage, Rayquaza set it aflame.

...I realize the science behind that sounds rather sketchy, but it's produced one of the strongest (and most BA) members of the team.

As a result of her time as a cactus, Balsamus is under-hugged and lonely. That's fine by her, though--she's usually able to take care of herself. Just keep her away from chemicals. She tends to get a little...scary...

Go, Helios the metang and Chai the Scratchet!
Metang, this does not look like a good matchup for you, but hopefully we can pull through! Lead with a Zenn Headbutt against Flarehelm! Follow it up with an Meteor mash and finish it with one more Zenn Headbutt!

Chai, lead with a Confuse Ray against Balsamus, followed by a Yawn and finally a Toxic against Balsamus! If it decides to use Leecseed on the first action, replace it with a Taunt!

Metang - Zenn Headbutt - Meteor Mash- Zenn Headbutt (All on Balsamus)
Chai- Confuse Ray/Taunt - Yawn - Toxic (all on Balsamus)

BALSAMUS: Nyuk nyuk nyuk nyuk. We can handle all of this XD

Well...maybe not the Confuse Ray. Status sucks, so lead with Sunny Day to protect yourself from what you can. Next, use Reflect to protect yourself from Helios, then fire off a Sun-boosted Lava Plume!

Sunny Day -- Reflect -- Lava Plume both foes.
DO try not to hit Jade with your attack.

------

JADE: What are you, chopped liver?

Start by creating 4 Double Team clones. Next, take the time to set up a Swords Dance, then give Chai a taste of your wings!

Double Team (4) -- Swords Dance -- Wing Attack Chai

And so...the battle begins in the Art Museum. Mewtwo15026 sends out his trusted pair of Scyther and Flarelm, and rewindman responds with Metang and a newcomer to CAP ASB, Scratchet!

The prankster Chai the Scratchet begins by launching a mystical confuse ray towards the Flarelm, intensesly confusing Balsamus.
Jade the Scyther starts the battle off by grabbing some painted Scyther out of pictures, and soldifying them into four clones of a Double Team. She should be harder to hit now! Balsamus the Flarelm then amplifies a nearby sunny painting, creating a Sunny Day! Hyperion the Metang starts off with some solid damage, crashing into Balsamus with a powerful Zen Headbutt.

Chai, bored at the display of little damage in this battle, simply Yawns in Balsamus's direction, though the attack is unlikely to do anything unless the sunlight stops. Jade, and her four Scyther buddies, begin a frenzied Swords Dance to prepare them for future assaults. Flarelm then bullies one of the local, lazy Chimecho into setting up a Reflect for her team, adding her own energy to the process. Hyperion prepares a fist of pure Meteor might, and Mashes into Balsamus, though his normally strong attack does very little with the reflecting barrier and flames melting his fist slightly. This massive attack may not have done much to the Flarelm, but certainly destroyed some paintings!

One of these paintings spilled out a Grimer, which Chai the Scratchet then innovatively picks up and tosses at Balsamus. The Toxic skin of the Grimer just melts against the Leaf Guard in the sunny weather. Jade finally feels ready to attack, and her clones follow her in a swooping Wing Attack towards the innocent Scratchet, hitting the kitty hard. Balsamus then prepares her arm cannon, and fires out a massive Lava Plume, having to contain some of the power to avoid hitting Jade. The wounded Metang prepares another Zen Headbutt, and succesfully crashes into Balsamus, knocking several paintings over in the process.

Though the battle isn't going well for rewindman's pokemon, clever use of the paintings could very well turn this around. The stun still shines brightly, and Balsamus feels very agile and protected in this weather.

well yeah..but it has only been one round. I believe, from what I've heard on IRC, I just end the battle with no counters. I'll have to confirm, though.

I thank you wholeheartedly for alerting me about the DQ time.

...Oh, wait.

If you want to continue, I'd be more than happy to.
