Miltank [GP 2/2]

Original Analysis
http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/miltank

[Overview]

Everyone's favorite cow returns in BW as one of the better support Pokemon in NU. This old Bess is a lot stronger than she might first appear. Miltank sports an excellent movepool with various support options, such as Heal Bell and Stealth Rock, which enable her to fill many different roles on your team. Her access to a reliable recovery move in Milk Drink, combined with her great HP and Defense stats, cements her position as one of the most reliable support and defensive Pokemon in the tier. With three useful abilities, Miltank is able to keep opponents guessing; Thick Fat makes them think twice about attacking with a Fire- or Ice-type move, Scrappy forces opponents to be wary of switching their Ghost-type into a STAB Double-Edge, while Sap Sipper makes them less inclined to fire off Spore or Leech Seed, lest they grant Miltank an Attack boost. All in all, Miltank is both an excellent support Pokemon and an unexpected offensive threat, and while she has her drawbacks, she will always be regarded as an excellent choice for any team.

[SET]
name: Mootility
move 1: Heal Bell
move 2: Milk Drink
move 3: Body Slam / Seismic Toss
move 4: Stealth Rock / Toxic / Thunder wave
item: Leftovers
ability: Thick Fat
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

Thick Fat, combined with Miltank's decent 95 / 105 / 70 defenses, turns her into a stellar wall in the NU tier. With Thick Fat, Miltank gains handy resistances to Fire- and Ice-type attacks, which make it easier for her to switch into the likes of Emboar and Magmortar. With her great movepool, Miltank has many options available to support her team. Heal Bell is a great support move that can heal team members of crippling status; it also gives Miltank a reliable way to recover from Toxic. However, Heal Bell should be used judiciously as its 8 PP runs out quickly. Thanks to Miltank's unique recovery move, Milk Drink, it will be difficult for your opponent to take her out, so she can hopefully support the team throughout the battle.

The choice of offensive move depends on what status you want to cripple your opponent's team with. Body Slam is useful for its 30% paralysis chance, but if you choose to use Toxic or Thunder Wave in the fourth moveslot, Seismic Toss is a better option for reliable damage. Stealth Rock is obviously the preferred choice in the fourth moveslot, as it is a staple move for any team. However, if you already have Stealth Rock support, Toxic or Thunder Wave are better options than Body Slam to spread status.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs and nature maximize Miltank's Special Defense, which is her weaker defensive stat. This gives Miltank good all-round defenses, and makes her an excellent counter to Magmortar, who fails to 3HKO her without Focus Blast. An EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD can make it easier for Miltank to switch into the likes of Emboar, Absol, and Skuntank. You can elect to run Sap Sipper on this set if you fear Tangela, but note that it cannot be used alongside Stealth Rock. This set is a great counter to Cryogonal as it cannot touch Miltank, whereas she is able to switch in safely and repeatedly.

Good partners for Miltank include Misdreavus, as both Pokemon are immune to each other's most common weaknesses. Musharna is also a great partner because it sets up on opposing Sawk and appreciates the Heal Bell support that Miltank provides. Taunt completely shuts down Miltank, and Misdreavus, who is immune to Miltank's STAB moves and Seismic Toss, is the most common Taunt user in the tier. Both Absol and Swellow take out Misdreavus easily, which makes it easier for Miltank to do her job; Swellow also takes out opposing Fighting-types with ease.

[SET]
name: MooFensive
move 1: Double-Edge / Return
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Punishment
move 4: Milk Drink
item: Life Orb
ability: Sap Sipper / Scrappy
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set takes advantage of Miltank's great Speed and decent Attack. While Miltank's Attack stat might seem subpar compared to that of some of the other physical threats in the tier, she is actually quite powerful. An unboosted STAB Double-Edge OHKOes Magmortar after Stealth Rock, and if Miltank is able to get a boost from Sap Sipper, not much other than Misdreavus or Haunter can switch into the combination of Double-Edge and Earthquake. With Sap Sipper, Miltank acts as a great counter to Jumpluff and Tangela, who both heavily rely on Leech Seed and Sleep Power. Double-Edge is preferred as Miltank's STAB move as she needs the extra power, but if you are concerned about the recoil damage, Return is a viable option. Earthquake hits Rock- and Steel-types that resist Miltank's STAB super effectively. Punishment is great as a coverage move to take out Ghost-types, as well as Pokemon such as Musharna and Duosion, who will try to set up against Miltank. However, Misdreavus walls this set because its low Speed means it takes little damage from Payback, and it can burn Miltank with Will-O-Wisp. Lastly, Milk Drink is used to heal off recoil from Life Orb and Double-Edge.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Maximum Speed investment and a Jolly nature enable Miltank to outspeed Braviary, Magmortar, Emboar, Sawsbuck, Haunter, and Kangaskhan, to name a few. Despite this, an Adamant nature is an option over a Jolly one for that extra power, which makes it easier for Miltank to take out the likes of Musharna, Misdreavus, and Duosion. Generally, though, the extra Speed is preferred. Scrappy can be used instead of Sap Sipper if your team has problems with Ghost-type Pokemon; if so, Heal Bell or Stealth Rock can be used instead of Punishment.

Quagsire makes for an excellent partner to Miltank as it walls fast Pokemon that can OHKO Miltank, such as Sawk. Quagsire also acts as a lure for Grass-type moves, which Miltank can take advantage of to nab an Attack boost. Entry hazards are very important as they help Miltank take out faster threats on the switch. Garbodor works as a nice partner as he resists Miltank's only weakness and is able to set up Spikes. Armaldo also works well by setting up Stealth Rock and taking out Substitute Haunter with Rock Blast.

[SET]
name: Curse
move 1: Curse
move 2: Body Slam
move 3: Milk Drink
move 4: Heal Bell
item: Leftovers
ability: Scrappy
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

This set revolves around Miltank's very useful Scrappy ability, which enables Miltank to set up without the worry of Ghost-types being immune to her only offensive move. Curse boosts her passable Attack stat to mighty levels, and thanks to Scrappy, Miltank is only walled by defensive Rock- and Steel-types. Body Slam is a great STAB option as it can spread paralysis to cripple the opponent's team and do a great deal of damage at the same time. Miltank becomes very bulky after a few Curse boosts, and is able to shake off even the most powerful super effective hits. Milk Drink heals off the damage Miltank might take while she boosts up, and helps her stay healthy once she has set up. If Miltank's setup is suddenly stopped by a problematic status move, such as Toxic or Will-O-Wisp, the final move—Heal Bell—ensures that Miltank can continue to set up without worrying about the debilitating status.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EVs enable Miltank to sponge opposing special attacks with relative ease, as she will be boosting her Defense with Curse. For example, after three Curse boosts, she is only 3HKOed by Choice Scarf Sawk's Close Combat.

Quagsire completely walls this set, and there is no point in staying in and boosting up due to its Unaware ability. Therefore, Grass-types such as Serperior and Exeggutor are good partners. Toxic Spikes support is also handy for this set, because it means Miltank can stay in on and stall out Pokemon that would otherwise wall her, such as Regirock and the aforementioned Quagsire. Tangela and Regirock are good partners for Miltank because they stop strong physical threats such as Absol and Sawk, who remain a problem for her even after one or two boosts. Absol, who also has Super Luck, can cut through Miltank's Defense boosts easily if it strikes lucky with an untimely critical hit. Musharna and Duosion can wall Sawk and set up on it, and therefore make for good partners. Regirock, Probopass, and Bastiodon are all big problems for this set, as they resist Miltank's STAB move. Samurott and Gurdurr can set up on or outright KO these threats, but Miltank can forgo Heal Bell's utility for Earthquake to get past these defensive juggernauts. Taunt Misdreavus is also a problem, so Skuntank, Absol, and Swellow are great partners as they can take Misdreavus out with Pursuit or Brave Bird.

[Other Options]

Miltank does not have a huge amount of options to work with. If you are worried about Rock-types, Gyro Ball can be used over Heal Bell or Milk Drink on the Curse set to take advantage of Miltank's lowered Speed stat. However, Earthquake is the better option in almost every situation as it also hits Steel-types. If you are worried about bulky Fighting-types, such as Throh and to an extent Emboar, Life Orb Miltank can run Zen Headbutt to hit them for super effective damage. Miltank can also run a successful offensive tank set with Thunder Wave, Milk Drink, Body Slam, and Earthquake. If you opt to run Thunder Wave over Stealth Rock on the Mootility set but still wish for a Normal-type STAB move, you can run Return or Double-Edge for extra power.

[Checks and Counters]

Miltank's only weakness is to powerful Fighting-type moves, so Fighting-type Pokemon—mainly Sawk, Emboar, and Gurdurr—can shut her down. Gurdurr also sets up on Miltank easily, and appreciates Toxic and Thunder Wave thanks to its Guts ability. Both Choice Scarf Emboar and most Absol outspeed Miltank and can KO her with Superpower. SubDisable Haunter walks all over Miltank; it can Disable Miltank's super effective attack and then chip away at her with Sludge Bomb. Powerful special attackers also destroy Miltank; the likes of Gorebyss and Exeggutor can both 2HKO her with their STAB moves. Defensively, Misdreavus counters offensive Miltank easily; Miltank's only chance of taking it out is if it tries to set up Nasty Plot or Calm Mind, which increases the power of Punishment. Taunt, which is most commonly found on Misdreavus, is also a huge problem for Miltank. Pokemon that resist her Normal-type STAB are solid counters to the Curse set; these include Regirock, Probopass, Armaldo, and Golem.

[OVERVIEW]

 • Excellent support Pokémon due to its movepool and stats.
 • Movepool includes some excellent support moves like Heal Bell and Stealth Rock.
 • Great HP and Defense stats, though weakness to fighting hinders its physical walling capabilities.
 • 3 great abilities in Thick Fat, Scrappy and Sap Sipper which all let Miltank play a different role either defensive support, bulky set up or offensive respectively.
 • Access to reliable recovery in its unique move Milk Drink which enables Miltank to secure its spot as a reliable support and defensive Pokémon.
 • Interesting speed stat on a defensive Pokémon.

[SET]

name: Mootility
move 1: Heal Bell
move 2: Milk Drink
move 3: Body Slam / Seismic Toss
move 4: Stealth Rock / Toxic / Thunder wave
item: Leftovers
ability: Thick Fat
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

 • This set uses Miltank’s ability Thick Fat combined with Miltank’s 95/105/70 defences to become a reliable switch in for many Pokémon in the tier, especially with the prevalence of fire and ice.
 • Heal Bell saves other team members from crippling status, and means Miltank cannot stalled out with toxic.
 • Milk Drink is Miltank’s reliable recovery move.
 • Miltank can use body slam to spread paralysis though it is walled by steel/rock types, so seismic toss can be used for a reliable source of damage.
 • The last slot is up to what your team is needing, Stealth Rock is necessary for any team, thought if you already have a Stealth Rock user, toxic can be used to cripple opposing defensive Pokémon or Thunder Wave can be used to cripple opposing fast sweepers.
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

 • The EV’s and Nature boost Miltank’s weaker defensive stat and allow it to be I reliable switch in to both special and physical attackers in the tier, Magmortar fails to 3hko it without using focus blast
 • This set can also run 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD for a more physically defensive spread which can be effective in switching into physically offensive threats.
 • Misdreavus works well as a partner due to being immune to Miltank’s only weakness and Miltank is immune to missy’s most common weakness in the tier.
 • Because taunt shuts down this set completely Both Absol and Swellow take out Misdreavus which is the most common taunter in the tier.
 • Swellow also can take out opposing fighting types.
 • Musharna teams up with Miltank well, it can set up on opposing Sawks and really appreciates Heal Bell support.
 • This set is a great counter to Cryrogonal, it can switch in repeatedly throughout the match.
 • Sap Sipper can be used on this set as an easy counter to Tangela, though i cannot be used alongside Stealth Rock.
[SET]

name: MiLOtank
move 1: Double Edge / Return
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Punishment / Rock Slide
move 4: Milk Drink
item: Life Orb
ability: Sap Sipper / Scrappy
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

 • This takes full advantage of Miltank’s high speed stat and considerable attack stat.
 • Miltank’s ability Sap Sipper enables it to switch into a predicted grass move and obtain a handy attack boost.
 • If you are looking to hit Ghost Types harder, then Scrappy is the preferred ability, as Return or Double Edge hits most ghost types harder than Punishment
 • Double Edge is the preferred STAB move due to the power, but if you are worried about Miltank’s survivability Return can be used instead, though sacrificing some power.
 • Earthquake is used to take out steel/rock types that resist Miltank’s STAB.
 • Rock Slide can be used alongside Scappy to hit flying types harder.
 • Punishment is preferred with Sap Sipper and is mainly for Pokémon such as Musharna and Duosion, to hit them super effectively, and to take them out after they have tried to set up on Miltank
 • Milk Drink is to heal off the Life Orb damage.
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

 • EV’s and Nature is to maximise Miltank’s speed, outspeeding non-scarf Braviary, Magmortar, Emboar and many other premier offensive threats.
 • Quagsire works as a good teammate because it acts as a good switch in for faster Pokémon that could potentially take out Miltank, and attracts grass moves for Miltank to get a helpful attack boost.
 • Entry hazards are important for Miltank to help Miltank get KO’s
 • If you are running Scrappy, Heal Bell or Stealth Rock are both good choices instead of Punishment / Rock Slide.
 • When running Jolly miltank outspeeds Sawsbuck, Non-Scarf Haunter, Kangaskhan
 • Adamant can be used over Jolly if you like the extra power.
[SET]

name: Curse
move 1: Curse
move 2: Body Slam
move 3: Milk Drink
move 4: Heal Bell
item: Leftovers
ability: Scrappy
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

 • This set takes advantage of Miltank’s Scrappy ability, allowing it to set up and not have to worry about ghosts being immune to its only attack.
 • EV’s enable Miltank to sponge special attacks while being able to boost its defences with curse.
 • Body Slam is now able to take out ghost types thanks to scrappy, and it is now only walled by Steel and Rock types.
 • Miltank become very bulky thanks to defence boost from curse, and Milk Drink allows it to heal off damage.
 • Heal Bell means that Miltank’s set up isn’t stopped by toxic.
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

 • Grass types such as Serperior and Exeggutor are good partners because they are able to take out Quagsire easily, who completely stops this set due to Unaware.
 • This set very much appreciates Toxic Spikes support, it allows you to set up of Pokemon that previously you would not have been able to hit, such as Quagsire and Regirock.
 • Sawk, Absol and other physical threats stop this set even with a few Curse boosts so physically defensive Pokémon such as Tangela and Regirock are good partners.
 • Musharna and Duosion are good partners as they can set up on Sawk.
 • Pokémon that can resist normal type moves such as Regirock and Probopass counter this set, so Pokémon that can take them out, such as Samurott and Gurdurr, are good partners for Miltank.
 • Misdreavus is also a problem due to Taunt, so Absol and Swellow are also helpful, Skantank also has the ability to wear Misdreavus down
[Other Options]

 • Miltank does not have many other options to work with.
 • Gyro Ball can be used over Heal Bell or Milk Drink on the Curse set to take advantage of the lowered speed stat and to hit rock types, though earthquake is probably a better choice due to also hitting steels.
 • Zen Headbutt can be run over Punishment on the LO set to hit Emboar super effectively, but isn’t overly necessary due to its STAB being neutral.
 • Miltank can successfully run an Offensive/Tank set with Thunder wave / Milk Drink / Body Slam / Earthquake

[Checks and Counters]

 • Due to having a fighting weakness powerful fighting types shut it down, mainly Sawk, Emboar and Gurdurr.
 • Taunt users are also a problem for both the Utility set and the Curse set, namely Misdreavus.
 • Pokémon that resist normal are solid counters for the Curse set, Regirock, Probopass, Armaldo and Golem to name a few.
 • Absol threatens all three sets, though Miltank easily outspeeds in the Lo set, but watch out for suckerpunch
 • Powerful special attackers destroy Miltank; the likes of Gorebyss and Exeggutor can both 2HKO.
 • SubDisable Haunter walks all over all three sets, it can disable both Body Slam on the Curse set and Punishment on the LO set, meaning neither can hit it at all.
 • Scarf Emboar outspeeds and KO's with superpower.
 • Misdreavus hard counters the LO set, unless it tries to set up nasty plot, punishment does not do a great deal of damage.
 • Gurdurr easily sets up on Miltank, and appreciates Toxic/Thunderwave thanks to guts.

Notes:

Thinking of getting rid of curse set all together, with quagsire in the tier, it is useless untill you can remove quaggy from the opponents team. idk. let me know if i should leave it.

 • Mention Musharna as a good partner to both the Curse and Defensive sets, it really appreciates Heal Bell support and can set up on Sawk.
 • Duosion is in the same boat, just not caring about Heal Bell as much.
 • A physically defensive spread should probably go in AC of the defensive set, its both used fairly and often and is effective.
 • Mention the defensive sets complete immunity to anything the most common spinner in the tier, Cryogonal, can do to it. It can switch in over and over again, threaten with Body Slam and set up Stealth Rock for free
 • Try to find some specific KO's LOTank gets with and without entry hazards.
 • Toxic Spikes support on the Curse set. It lets you set up on Quagsire, Regirock and wears down most of Miltanks checks. Also has good synergy with Poison types.
I might comment more later if I come up with anything but good work so far

!

I would like to see a mention of scrappy on the offensive set, or even better be given the same status as sap sipper does right now. Return hits a lot harder against ghost types most of the time, since none of them boost usually so punishment has a really low base power... On that note Boosting psychic types are also really uncommon in my opinion unless I'm forgetting something! Thus, I think punishment is AC material for the tank set.

You could probably place it with a coverage move; rock slide for edge quake coverage maybe? At the very least you hit flying types a lot harder. Lastly I think you could give an OO mention to a tank set with Thunder wave / milk drink / body slam / earthquake. It lets you have bulk while still outspeeding random pokemon after they are paralyzed.

Other than that this is pretty solid, I'll stamp later when I'm actually on a computer so I can do some more looking around.

Scrappy and Sap Sipper both have their uses, just slash them both. It really depends on the team's needs; both are equally viable on an offensive variant.

Also, boosting Psychic types are getting more and more common. Musharna is really good in this metagame, and Duosion is seeing usage as an almost complete stop to stall teams. In addition, I've seen a lot of Calm Mind and Nasty Plot Misdreavus recently, both of which are dealt with well by Punishment. It is a niche option for sure, but its a nice and reliable way of dealing with these threats.

Coolio, glad to see LO Miltank on this update, couldn't believe it wasn't there to begin with :x Anywho, as mentioned prior, Scrappy definitely deserves mention, allowing Miltank perfect two-move coverage is awesome for freeing up that final moveslot. That in mind, Punishment is just a meh move imo. It's not particularly useful outside of hitting the Ghost-types of the tier (who could be getting handled by using Scrappy anyway). Personally I'd rather see Heal Bell / Stealth Rock (the latter being illegal with Sap Sipper) in the third slot, relegating Punishment to AC. Heal Bell, aside from being an excellent move as a whole, also allows Scrappy Miltank to safely beat Misdreavus anyway, and an offensive Stealth Rock user not named Golem with longevity is just really neat. Also, it should be mentioned why Sap Sipper is good (switching into Eggy Leaf Storm's, taking advantage of Tangela, switching into Sawsbuck Horn Leech and OHKOing with a +1 Return, etc.), as it would probably be a little confusing to players new to the tier. Also, mention Pokemon who appreciate bulky Grass-types in the AC (thinking SD Samurott, DD Lapras, whatever). Definitely add calcs, it will really help to show how deceptively strong she is. Oh, and you say Double-Edge is preferable, but it's the second slash lol. Might add more later, toss some choice calcs out there, but I'm currently on my phone, so I'm a tad limited there (p.s. I like that set .-.)

Updated.

Added NatGeo's tank set into OO

Slashed in both rock slide and scrappy on the the LO set, and added Heal Bell and Stealth Rock into AC.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but why would one want to use Rock Slide? The only targets it hits harder than Return / Double Edge are Ninjask (frail as hell, KOed by STAB move after SR), Articuno (pretty uncommon, and also safely KOed after SR a fair amount of the time), Delibird (literally just on this list for novelty), and Drifblim (disregard when using Scrappy). Oh, and Larvesta, because why not right? Point of the matter is, SE Rock Slide is worse than neutral Return (if only marginally), so why even mention it? Sorry if this comes off as rude, but I felt it necessary to voice my concern with that bit :/

You could probably place it with a coverage move; rock slide for edge quake coverage maybe? At the very least you hit flying types a lot harder.

Well NatGeo suggested it, and it does hit haunter/misdreavus if you are not running scrappy.

I think that punishment is probably the better option, just due to what ive written, hitting bulky Calm Minders like Duosion and Musharna while they dry to set up. It is a niche use i know, but being able to hit haunter/misdreavus if you are not running scrappy is pretty necessary imo.

Rock Slide is just another coverage option, and it does hit armaldo a lot harder than return would.

umm, this is kind of small but

"This set uses Miltank’s ability Thick Fat combined with Miltank’s 95/80/70 defences to become a reliable switch in for many Pokémon in the tier, especially with the prevalence of fire and ice."

miltank actually has base 105 defense, not 80

not sure if this was a typo or not, but you cant be too safe not to mess up in the writeup!

Sap Sipper is more useful than Scrappy on the tank set. Miltank needs all of the Attack it can get because it's quite weak. Plus, being able to switch into Sleep Powder's, preventing Tangela from doing anything to you, etc. is so much better than hitting Ghost-types. Misdreavus walls you anyways and Haunter will take a lot of damage from Punishment. If I wanted to use Stealth Rock / Heal Bell, I'd probably just use Thick Fat.

I'd switch the Punishment/Rock Slide slashes around. Rock Slide doesn't hit much and Punishment is so useful for the increasingly popular Calm Mind users.

Put Sap Sipper in the first set AC. Note that you can't use Heal Bell / Stealth Rock with it. Put Adamant in the second set AC for extra power.

The checks and counters section could probably use some more work - it's quite small atm. I can't think of anything right now, although it should say that Emboar is a shaky check to the offensive set. You also might want to add a mention of Gurdurr being able to set-up on Miltank and appreciating being hit by Thunder Wave/Toxic because of Guts.

 • On the LO Tank set, make it clear just how fast Miltank is. It outspeeds Sawsbuck, non scarfed Haunter, Kangaskhan etc. Also mention that it needs Jolly to achieve all this.
 • Find some specific KO's it gets with Stealth Rock support, as just "it gets KO's with hazards" is not very convincing.
 • Also try and find specific KO's it gets with Adamant over Jolly, and explain how this would be worth not outspeeding the aforementioned pokes.
 • in AC of the Curse set, mention Skuntanks ability to wear down Misdreavus as long as it doesn't switch in on Will-O-Wisp
 • Similarly, mention Magmortar or Rapidash, as they can switch in on Will-O-Wisp and start hurting the opponents team.
 • And finally get rid of those extra line breaks between the titles and the bullet points lol
After that this looks good to me, so QC APPROVED (1/3)

Everyone's favorite cow returns in BW as one of the prominent better support Pokemon <Please check Smogon Grammar Conventions, Pokemon does SHOULD not have é on analyses> of in NU. This old bess Bess <lol, though I don't think that Bess is really appropriate for on-site analyses> is a lot stronger as than she might first appear.
Miltank's ability,<insert comma> Thick Fat combined with her decent 95/105/70 defenses turns her into a stellar wall in the NU tier. With Thick Fat Miltank gains a few handy resistances, which makes it easier to switch into the likes of Emboar and Magmortar. For this purpose, Body Slam can be used with its 30% paralysis chance. However, if you choose to use Toxic or Thunder Wave in the fourth moveslot, Seismic Toss is a better option for realiable damage. Stealth Rock is obviously the preferred choice for the fourth moveslot, as it is a staple move for any NU team, though if you already have someone to set up rocks Stealth Rock support; Toxic or Thunderwave Thunder Wave can be a more reliable way of spreading status instead of relying on Body Slam is a better option than Body Slam to spread staus.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV's and Nature used to max out Special Defense boosts, which is Miltank's weaker defensive stat, which rounds out its bulk due to its already high Defense, and makes. This makesit easier for Miltank to switch in to the Llikes of Magmortar, who fails to 3HKO it without Focus Blast. This set can also run 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD to make it easier to switch in to the likes of Emboar, Absol and Skuntank. Good partners for Miltank include Misdreavus, both are immune to each others most common weakness in the tier. Musharna is also a great partner because it sets up on opposing Sawk's and very much appreciates the Heal Bell support. Taunt completely shuts down Miltank, and Misdreavus is the most common Taunter user in the tier, who coincidentally is immune to both Miltank's offensive options. Both Absol and Swellow take out Misdreavus easily to make it easier for Miltank to do her job, Swellow also takes out opposing Fighting-types easily. This is set is a great counter to Cryrogonal, who cannot touch Miltank, and she is able to switch in safely and repeatedly as much as she pleases. There is also the option to run Sap Sipper on this set if you fear Tangela, thought this cannot be used alongside Stealth Rock.

[SET]

name: MiLOtank <this is a horrible pun, please use something conventional>
move 1: Double Edge / Return

ability: Sap Sipper / Scrappy
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set takes a whole new approach to Miltank than the support set; it takes advantage of Miltank's great speed for NU and her more and passable aAttack stat. While Miltank's aAttack stat may seem sub par compared so some of the other physical threats in the tier, a +0 Double Edge 1HKO's Magmortar with rocks Stealth Rock damage, and if it is able to get a +1 from Sap Sipper, not much other than the likes of Misdreavus/Haunter can switch in to the combination of Double Edge and Earthquake. With Sap Sipper, Miltank acts as a great counter to Jumpluff/Tangela who both rely on Leech Seed and Sleep Power to get anything done. Double Edge is preferred as Miltank's STAB move as the extra power is needed, but if you are stressed concerned about her survivability, Return can be run instead. Earthquake hits Rock-<insert hyphen> and Steel-<insert hyphen>types that resist Miltank's STAB. Punishment is great alongside Sap Sipper to take out ghosts Ghost-types, and Pokemon such as Musharna and Duosion, who will try to set up Calm Minds against Miltank. Though even with a Super Effective move, Misdreavus walls this set. Lastly, Milk Drink is used to heal off Life Orb damage and that nasty recoil from Double Edge.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Maximum speed is more desirable on this set, with a Jolly Nature, Miltank outspeeds the likes of non-scarf Braviary, Magmortar, Emboar, Sawsbuck, non-scarf Haunter, <insert comma> and Kangaskhan to name a few. Despite this, Adamant nature can be run over Jolly for that extra power. A good partner for Miltank is Quagsire as it walls faster Pokemon, such as Sawk who can take out Miltank, while attracting being a lure grass Grass-type moves which can give Miltank the extra sweeping power with an attack boost. Entry hazards are very important, as they help her take out faster threats on the switch. Scrappy can be run instead of Sap Sipper if you fear ghosts your team has problems with Ghost-type Pokemon, and if so Heal Bell/Stealth Rock can be run over Punishment.

[SET]

name: Curse
move 1: Curse
move 2: Body Slam
move 3: Milk Drink
move 4: Heal Bell
item: Leftovers
ability: Scrappy
nature: Careful
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

This set revolves around Miltank's very useful ability Scrappy. This allows Miltank to set up and not worry about ghosts Ghost-types being immune to her only offensive move. The EV's enable Miltank to sponge opponents special attacks, while boosting her Defense with cCurse. Curse is able to boost her only just passable Attack stat to mighty levels, and because of Scrappy she only worries about Rock-<hyphen> and Steel-types. Body Slam is a great STAB option, as it is able to spread Paralysis through the opponents team cripple the opponents team with paralysis, and do a great deal of damage at the same time. Miltank becuase becomes very bulky after a few Curse boosts, and is able to shake off even the most powerful super effective hits, such as only getting 3HKO'd by Sawk's Close Combat after 3 curse boosts. Milk Drink heals off the damage taken while Miltank tries to set up against its opponent, and once it has set up, it can easily heal off damage while the opponent tries to whittle her HP down. If her set up is suddenly stopped by a nasty Will-o-Wisp from Misdreavus or a fatal Toxic, the final move, Heal Bell means that Miltank's set up isn't put to a halt by crippling status.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Quagsire completely stops this set, and there is no point in staying in on him due to unaware its ability Unaware, thus grass types Grass-types such as Serperior and Exeggutor are good partners. Toxic Spikes support is also handy for this set, because it means Miltank can stay in on pokemon that would previously wall it, such as Regirock and the aforementioned Quagsire. Tangela and Regirock are good partners for Miltank because they stop strong physical threats such as Absol and Sawk, who even with 1 one or two Defense boosts, still remain a problem for her. Absol, who also has SUper Super Luck, can cut through Miltank's Defense boosts easily. Sawk problems Problems with Sawk can also be stopped by both Musharna and Duosion, who can switch in and set up on Sawk. Regirock, Probopass and Bastiodon are all big problems for this set, Samurott and Gurdurr both fix this problem, but Miltank can also run earthquake Earthquake over Heal Bell as a solution to that problem. Taunt Misdreavus is also a problem, so Absol and Swellow are great partners to take Misdreavus out, and Skantank can also take Misdreavus out easily.

[Other Options]

Miltank does not have a huge amount of options to work with. If you are worried about Rock-Ttypes, Gyro Ball can be run over Heal Bell or Milk Drink on the curse Curse set, to take advantage of the lowered speed, though in almost every situation Earthquake is the better option due to for hitting Steel-Ttypes. If you are worried about bulky fighting types Fighting-types like Throh and somewhat to an extent Emboar, you can run Zen Headbutt on the LO set for super effective damage. Miltank can also run a successful offensive-tank set, with Thunderwave Thunder Wave / Milk Drink / Body Slam /Earthquake. If you opt to run Thunderwave Thunder Wave over Stealth Rock on the Mootility set, but still wish for a nNormal-type STAB move, you can run Return / Double Edge for extra power.

[Checks and Counters]

Miltank's only weakness is to fighting Fighting-type moves so powerful fighting Fighting-type types Pokemon can shut it down, mainly Sawk, Emboar and Gurdurr. Gurdurr also sets up on Miltank easily, and appreciates Toxic and hunderwave Thunder Wave thanks to guts its ability Guts. Scarf Emboar outspeeds all three sets and KO's with Superpower. Absol is also a threat to all three sets, though the LO set outspeeds, and can KO, though you need to be careful wary of Sucker Punch. SubDisable haunter Haunter walks all over every set, it can disable both Body Slam on the curse Curse set and Punishment on the LO set, meaning neither have a chance at hitting it at all. Powerful special attackers also destroy Miltank; the likes of Gorebyss and Exeggutor can both 2HKO. Defensively, Misdreavus counters the LO set easily, the only way Miltank has a chance of taking it out, is if it ties tries to set up Nasty Plot or Calm Mind, which increases the power of Punishment. Taunt is also a huge problem for Miltank, which is most commonly found on Misdreavus. Pokemon that resist its normal STAB are solid counters for the Curse set, namely Regirock, Probopass, Armaldo, and Golem.

Look, I'll be frank: this analysis was painful to check, mainly because of the many, small typographical errors that you made. While, GP checkers are supposed to iron these problems out, please review your analysis for simple, avoidable errors.

I don't have any problems with your writing style (it's actually quite good), but I found that in some sentences you weren't able to write what you meant. In such places, I had to use my judgement, so, please carefully go over the errors. I also found some terrible puns (MiLOtanks, really?). If you do follow Smogon writing standards and conventions properly, I'm sure that you will be able to do a much better job with writing your analyses. :)
