Mixed Luxray [QC 3/3] [GP 2/2]

Hopefully my suggestions will not come to waste!
 • Always capitalise Attack / Special Attack / Speed in analysis.
 • Don't use the word "abuse"; it doesn't contribute much to the analysis.
 • Ridiculous is the right spelling; not redyculous.
 • In the first sentence, second paragraph; it say that it OHKOs all relevant *Ground-types in the tier barring Golurk and Piloswine. Seismitoad and Golem are the only notable ones imo, so say that it OHKOs them individually (and Golem after Sturdy only).
 • Raichu isn't really relevant in the metagame at all imo. Same goes for Seaking. You may want to switch it out for Zebstrika or a Ground-type like Golurk.
 • Paranoid; not paranoyd.

There are a bunch more things that may want to be looked at, but QC's gonna help you out with that I guess.

K. thanks. I'll make the corrections as best I can. By the way, did you do *Ground-types because it's a title? I've edited that for all types mentioned, but I'm just clarifying. Also, I didn't mis-spell rediculous in the analysis.

K. thanks. I'll make the corrections as best I can. By the way, why did you do *Ground-types? it's identical in the analysis except for the capital, which is not needed to be gramatically correct seeing as it's not a title. Did you do that because it's a name? try to get back to me on this if you can because I'm not entirely sure to be honest, but I'll edit that for all types mentioned in the analysis just in case. Also, I didn't mis-spell Rediculous.
Types are always capitalized in analyses. It's not a specific rule, but you can see that in the Spelling and Grammar Standards thread, along with a bunch of other useful rules to remember.

I meant to say that it is Ground-types, capitalize "G". Also, here's the right spelling.

Good luck with the rest of the analysis!

 • The comparison to Raichu can be cut; Raichu is pretty much irrelevant in this meta, and this set is very dissimilar to Raichu anyways
 • Set Comments only needs to be one paragraph. Really awkward place to start a new paragraph.
 • On Golem, you can just say "if its Sturdy has been broken"
 • When talking about the EV spread, give specific examples of what the Atk EVs beat and what the Speed EVs outspeed. From Raseri's post: "You outrun max speed Gorebyss before a smash and can KO it." Meanwhile, max SpA lets it hit physical walls, its main targets, for as much power as possible. 60 Atk EVs can allow it to OHKO Audino with Superpower, and Regice after previous damage, etc.
 • I wouldn't say that burns are rare in NU. Will-O-Wisp is on most Misdreavus, and it's super common right now. You've also got random Scald users like Seismitoad, which is one of the things this set tries to beat. Just cut that mention of the rarity of burns and leave the rest about Guts.
 • Mention that fast/frail sweepers appreciate this Luxray set. Things like Swellow, Jynx, scarf Charizard, etc, can all struggle to break down walls that Luxray can beat pretty easily. Once Luxray takes down some of the opponent's problem walls, these strong Pokemon can clean up.

Make these changes and clean up the spelling/grammar. Specifically JoshuaMunoz's post would be one to follow:

Clean this up some, and I'll come back to check it out and see if it's ready for GP.

[SET COMMENTS]

Unlike Luxray's other sets, this set uses Luxray's Special Attack stat along side it's Attack stat to get past certain threats that Luxray can't otherwise get past. This means that Luxray can also abuse his decent Special Attack stat, while still making the most of it's massive base 120 Attack stat. Thunderbolt is Luxray's main attacking move, giving a solid, reliable stabSTAB move that can get past threats such as Gorebyss, while giving Luxray a way to break down Alomomola. Superpower is in the second moveslot because it's reidiculously powerful coming off Luxray's base 120 Attack stat, nailing Regice and Lickilicky for 2HKOs, the former after Stealth Rock and the latter after a Thunderbolt. Superpower also hits Audino and Bastiodon for clean OHKOs right off the bat. Hidden Power Grass gives Luxray the power to OHKO Seismitoad and Golem, the latter if Sturdy has been broken. This means that Seismitoad in particular no longer walls Luxray to no end. In the last moveslot, it's down to personal preference. Volt Switch lets you scout for switches against pokemon you check such as Braviary, giving you momentum provided they don't switch into a Ground-type, Zebstrika or any other Electric-type immunity. On the other hand, Signal Beam hits Grass-types such as Tangela, with the notable exceptions of Roselia and Vileplume hard, as well as hitting Psychic types such as Duosion for super effective damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Ice Fang could be used in the last slot in order to hit Altaria, who otherwise walls this set, as well as the only way to hit Roselia and Vileplume for super effective damage. However, it is not listed due to it not making as good as use of the EV spread as the other 2 options do, but don't let that put you off using it if you prefer it to the other options. The EV spread lets you hit with as much power as possible on the special side, giving Luxray a way to hit physical walls hard: this set's main targets, while still hitting like a truck on the physical side enabling it to straight out OHKO Audino and OHKO Regice after a ThunderboltStealth Rock. The remaining 196 EVs are dumped into Speed to let it outpace max- Speed Gorebyss before a Shell Smash and OHKO it with Thunderbolt. Life Orb is used to let you hit hard on both the physical and special side, and a rRash nature boosts Luxray's sSpecial aAttack further, while not lowering Luxray's Attack stat. Intimidate is used due to Guts only boosting Luxray's Attack stat, as well as for it's ability to turn it into a half-decent bulky pivot. However, if you are paranoid about Superpower not being weakened by burn, gGuts is still viable, but it's too unreliable to be listed.

Hazard setters are vital to Luxray's success, gettaining it many OHKOs and 2HKOs after themy have been set up, such as an OHKO on Regice with Superpower, making pPokemon such as Garbodor, Cacturne and Probopass very good teammates for Luxray. Strong special attackers such as Choice Specs Altaria make good partners for their ability to lure pPokemon such as Regice in, ready to be KOed or crippled by Superpower. Ice-types such as Jynx and Altaria complement Luxray with their typing and hitting Vileplume, Roselia and Tangela hard, coming through on a Volt Switch or a well predicted switch. Water-types such as Caracosta, Samurott and Ludicolo make good teammates for Luxray, hitting Piloswine and Golurk harder than Hidden Power Grass. Fast and frail sweepers such as Swellow and Choice Scarf Charizard make good partners for Luxray because Luxray breaks down walls, leaving them to clean up afterwards.

Unlike Luxray's other sets, this set uses Luxray's Special Attack stat alongside it'(apostrophe)s Attack stat to get past certain threats that Luxray can't beat otherwise. Thunderbolt is Luxray's main attacking move, as it is a reliable STAB move that can get past threats such as Gorebyss, while giving Luxray a way to break down Alomomola. Superpower is in the second moveslot,(comma) because it's ridiculously powerful coming off Luxray's base 120 Attack stat, nailing Regice and Lickilicky for 2HKOs, the former after Stealth Rock and the latter after a Thunderbolt. Superpower cleanly OHKOes Audino and Bastiodon right off the bat. Hidden Power Grass gives Luxray the power to OHKO Seismitoad and Golem, the latter if Sturdy has been broken. This means that Seismitoad in particular no longer walls Luxray to no end. In the last moveslot, it's down to personal preference. Volt Switch lets you scout for switches against Pokemon you check,(comma) such as Braviary, giving you momentum provided they don't switch into a Ground-type or a Pokemon with Lightningrod/ or Motor Drive. On the other hand, Signal Beam hits almost every Grass-type hard, as well as hitting Psychic-types such as Duosion for super effective damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Ice Fang could be used in the last slot in order to hit Altaria, who otherwise walls this set, as well and it is the only way to hit Roselia and Vileplume for super effective damage. However, it is not listed due to it not making as good ason this set, because it does not use of the EV spread as well as the other 2two options do. The EV spread lets you hit with as much power as possible on the special side, giving Luxray a way to hit physical walls hard:,(comma) this set's main targets, hard,(comma) while still hitting like a truck on the physical side,(comma) enabling it to straight out OHKO Audino and OHKO Regice after Stealth Rock. The remaining 196 EVs are dumped into Speed to let it outpace max Speed Gorebyss before a Shell Smash and OHKO it with Thunderbolt. Life Orb is used to let you hit hard on both the physical and special side, and a Rash nature boosts Luxray's Special Attack further,(comma) while not lowering Luxray's Attack stat. Intimidate is used due to Guts only boosting Luxray's Attack stat, as well as for it's ability to turn it into a half-decent bulky pivot. However, if you are paranoid about Superpower not being weakened by burn, Guts is still viable, but it's too unreliable to be listrecommended.

Hazard setters are vital to Luxray's success, gaining it many OHKOs and 2HKOs after they have been set up, such asincluding an OHKO on Regice with Superpower, making Pokemon such as Garbodor, Cacturne,(comma) and Probopass very good teammates for Luxray. Strong special attackers such as Choice Specs Altaria make good partners for their ability to lure Pokemon such as Regice in, ready to be KOed or crippled by Superpower. Ice-types,(comma) such as Jynx and Articuno,(comma) complement Luxray with their typing and hit Vileplume, Roselia,(comma) and Tangela hard, coming throughin on a Volt Switch or a well predicted switch. Water-types such as Caracosta, Samurott and Ludicolo make for good teammates for Luxray, hitting Piloswine and Golurk harder than Hidden Power Grass. Fast and frail sweepers such as Swellow and Choice Scarf Charizard make good partners for Luxray,(comma) because Luxray breaks down walls, leavallowing them to clean up afterwards.

[SET COMMENTS]

Unlike Luxray's other sets, this This set uses Luxray's Special Attack stat alongside its Attack stat to get past certain threats that Luxray it can't beat otherwise. Thunderbolt is Luxray's main attacking move attack, as it is a reliable STAB move that can get past threats such as Gorebyss, (remove comma) while giving Luxray a way to break down Alomomola. Superpower is in the second moveslot, (remove comma) because it's ridiculously powerful coming off Luxray's base 120 Attack stat, nailing Regice and Lickilicky for 2HKOs, the former after Stealth Rock and the latter after a Thunderbolt (your phrasing seems a bit confusing here; does Superpower + Thunderbolt KO or does Superpower + Superpower + Thunderbolt 2HKO; you also state later that Regice isn't a 2HKO but a OHKO after Stealth Rock, which isn't the same thing). Volt Switch lets you scout for switches against Pokemon you check Luxray checks, such as Braviary, giving you momentum, provided they don't switch in a Ground-type or a Pokemon with Lightningrod or Motor Drive. (mentioning that Ground-types and things with abilities that make them immune to Electric-type moves are immune to Electric-type moves seems unnecessary from my point of view; however you can leave this in if you think it needs to be mentioned; just change 'they don't switch' to 'your opponent doesn't switch' On the other hand, Signal Beam hits almost every Grass-type hard as well as Psychic-types such as Duosion for super effective damage.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

Ice Fang could be used in the last slot in order to hit Altaria, who walls this set otherwise, and it is also the only way to hit Roselia and Vileplume for super effective damage. The EV spread lets you Luxray hit with as much power as possible on the special side, giving Luxray it a way to hit physical walls, who are this set's main targets (add comma) hard, (remove comma) while still hitting like a truck on the physical side enabling it to straight out OHKO Audino and Regice after Stealth Rock (you mentioned this above already). The remaining EVs are dumped into Speed to let it Luxray outpace max Speed Gorebyss before a Shell Smash and OHKO it with Thunderbolt. Life Orb is used to let you Luxray hit hard on both the physical and special side, and a Rash nature boosts Luxray's its Special Attack further, (remove comma) while not lowering Luxray's its Attack stat.
Entry hazard setters are vital to Luxray's success, gaining it many OHKOes and 2HKOes after they have been set up, such as an OHKO on Regice with Superpower, (start new sentence; this feels too run on-ish) making This makes Pokemon such as Garbodor, Cacturne (add comma) and Probopass very good teammates for Luxray. Strong special attackers, such as Choice Specs Altaria, make good partners for their ability to lure Pokemon such as Regice in, ready to be KOed or crippled by Superpower. Ice-types such as Jynx and Articuno complement Luxray with their typing and ability to hit Vileplume, Roselia (add comma) and Tangela hard, coming through in on a Volt Switch or a well predicted double switch. Water-types such as Caracosta Carracosta, Samurott, and Ludicolo make good teammates for Luxray, hitting Piloswine and Golurk harder than Hidden Power Grass. Fast and frail sweepers such as Swellow and Choice Scarf Charizard make good partners for Luxray as well because it breaks down walls, opening up a late game late-game sweep for the said Pokemon.

I'll finish making the final edits before I mark it as done. I've done most of melvni's check, but I still need to finish off the ac. I will mark it as done then. Thanks for the GP :toast:
