[OVERVIEW]

**Fairy**:

Azumarill is one of the few physically attacking Fairy-types, and it's a great one thanks to Huge Power. It can be a very threatening sweeper thanks to its access to Belly Drum and a priority move in Aqua Jet. Its typing gives it resistances to Fire, Water, and Ice and a neutrality to Steel, which is unusual for a Fairy. Its Water typing and access to Superpower allow it to check threats such as Heatran and Empoleon. Additionally, Azumarill's bulk is pretty good and allows it to take a hit before attacking or set up a Belly Drum more easily. However, Azumarill's Water typing brings a weakness to Electric, which Fairy-types don't appreciate as it is. Its Speed stat is also very low, which means it usually has to take a hit before being able to hit back or set up.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Belly Drum maximizes Azumarill's Attack and lets it become a very threatening sweeper. Aqua Jet is its Water-type STAB move and the move it's most likely to use after setting up because of its +1 priority. Play Rough is Azumarill's Fairy-type STAB move and hits very hard even without setup. Knock Off provides great coverage that hits threats such as Doublade, and it also gets rid of the foe's item. Superpower is an alternative option to hit Pokemon such as Empoleon, Ferrothorn, and Chansey harder, but it does lower Azumarill's Defense, making it easier to revenge kill.

Set Details
========

164 EVs in Speed allow Azumarill to outspeed Skarmory and take it out with +6 Knock Off after Stealth Rock. Running 252 EVs in Attack with an Adamant nature maximizes Azumarill's power and wallbreaking capabilities. The remaining 92 EVs give Azumarill an even HP stat, allowing Sitrus Berry to activate after using Belly Drum at full health. Sitrus Berry restores 25% of Azumarill's health when it gets bellow 50%, which is useful when setting up a Belly Drum. Huge Power doubles Azumarill's Attack to make up for its abysmal base 50 stat.

Usage Tips
========

Azumarill should be used as a late-game Belly Drum sweeper. It should be kept as healthy as possible and not switched in on attacks if it wants to set up with Belly Drum. If the intention is not to clean with Belly Drum, it can be used as an offensive pivot on moves it resists and pressure the foe, or just set up early-game and wallbreak to open the door for a teammate to clean up. A good opportunity for it to set up would be against Pokemon locked into moves that don't threaten it or against passive Pokemon. It should not attempt to set up against Pokemon that can hit it for super effective damage or inflict it with status, as they will neuter its potential to sweep with Belly Drum. Azumarill should be careful when using Knock Off if it wants to sweep later on because Pokemon such as Skarmory and Ferrothorn are able to survive a +6 Knock Off if their item is gone. Before setting up and attempting to sweep, all threats to Azumarill, such as Mega Venusaur, should be removed. It can pick off weakened foes with Aqua Jet, but the move is pretty weak without the Belly Drum boost, so it should be used carefully.

Team Options
========

Klefki has the ability to set up Light Screen and Reflect, which help Azumarill take hits better and set up a Belly Drum. Other things Klefki can do for Azumarill include spread paralysis with Thunder Wave to alleviate its Speed problem and set up Spikes to put foes in range of its attacks. Klefki also has an immunity to Poison, which Azumarill appreciates. Clefable is another Pokemon that can help Azumarill's Speed issue by paralyzing foes with Thunder Wave, and it also has access to Stealth Rock, which breaks Focus Sashes and allows Azumarill to get more OHKOs. Other than that, Clefable can serve as a Calm Mind sweeper, which puts additional pressure on the opposing defensive backbone and makes it much easier to sweep with Azumarill, and a status absorber, which Azumarill heavily appreciates. Togekiss checks Grass-types, which threaten Azumarill and prevent it from setting up, and it has access to Heal Bell, which can get rid of Azumarill's status. Gardevoir can deal with Poison-types that threaten Azumarill. It can also run Healing Wish to give Azumarill another chance at sweeping. Sylveon is a great partner thanks to its wallbreaking capabilities that can let it rip holes in the opposing team and allow Azumarill to sweep. Whimsicott is a stallbreaker and teammate that can provide a lot of utility. Its ability to spread status, Encore foes, and even use Leech Seed for healing creates many extra opportunities to sweep with Azumarill. Mega Diancie prevents entry hazards and status spreading with its Magic Bounce ability, something that Azumarill appreciates because it preserves its health and lets it set up more comfortably.

Other Options
=============

**Fairy**:

A Choice Band set can be used over Belly Drum for immediate power, but Fairy-type teams have the tools to make great use of Azumarill's Belly Drum set and its sweeping potential.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy**:

**Skarmory**: If it's at full HP, Skarmory can survive any hit from Azumarill after it sets up with Belly Drum and phaze it with Whirlwind.

**Grass-types**: Due to its weakness to Grass, Azumarill is unable to set up on most Grass-type Pokemon, and some are even able to survive a hit from it after it sets up such as Mega Venusaur.

**Poison-types**: Azumarill's weakness to Poison-types such as Gengar prevents it from setting up on them because it will take a lot of damage from their STAB moves.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Thundurus hit Azumarill really hard due to its weakness and prevent it from setting up on them. They don't appreciate switching in on a Play Rough or a Knock Off, however, and can no longer check it after it sets up.

**Mega Venusaur**: Mega Venusaur is a true counter to Azumarill because it can survive any attack even after the Belly Drum boost and knock it out with Sludge Bomb or Giga Drain.

**Ditto**: Ditto is able to copy Azumarill's stats after it sets up and revenge kill it with Play Rough.

**Rotom-W**: Rotom-W outspeeds Azumarill and can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp or take it out with Volt Switch if it's in range because it resists Aqua Jet.

**Volcanion**: Volcanion is immune to Aqua Jet and is faster than Azumarill, allowing it to take it out with Sludge Wave.

**Status**: Any status can strongly cripple Azumarill's ability to sweep or its longevity. Burn cuts Azumarill's Attack, poison wears it down, and paralysis cuts its Speed even more.

**Water Absorb**: Pokemon with the ability Water Absorb such as Seismitoad and Toxicroak prevent Azumarill from going for Aqua Jet and can take it out with a super effective Poison-type attack.

Overview
- Definitely bring up its bulk, which is surprisingly pretty good.
- While its Water typing brings a lot of resistances, it also brings a weakness to Electric, which Fairy has a very hard time with already.

Moves
- Give examples of Knock Off targets. Doublade is the biggest one, of course.
- Note that Superpower does reduce Azumarill's Defense, making it more easily revenge killed by priority moves.

Usage Tips:
- Add a tip for what's a good setup opportunity. Choice-locked foes, passive Pokemon, and what not are great for Azumarill to take advantage of.
- You should note that in most cases, Azumarill should not be using Knock Off against physical walls for utility if it wants to sweep later on. Healthy Skarmory and Ferrothorn that lose their item early on can survive a +6 Knock Off and can stop the sweep with their own utility moves.
- Aqua Jet may be used to revenge kill weakened foes but is rather weak without the Belly Drum boost, so it should be used carefully.
- Make sure to remove checks such as Mega Venusaur before sweeping.

Team Options:
- Add that Klefki and Clefable can spread paralysis, which alleviates much of Azumarill's Speed problem.
- Klefki can also set up Spikes, which can wear down Azumarill checks to put them in range of its sweep.
- Clefable on the other than can serve as a Calm Mind sweeper, which puts additional pressure on the opposing defensive backbone and makes it much easier to sweep with Azumarill.
- Gardevoir can also run Healing Wish to provide Azumarill with another chance at sweeping.
- Sylveon is a great partner for its wallbreaking power, easily opening holes in the enemy team to allow Azumarill to sweep.
- Whimsicott is a stallbreaker and utility teammate. Its ability to spread status, Encore foes, and even in some cases use Leech Seed for healing create many extra opportunities to sweep with Azumarill.

Checks and Counters:
- Definitely add status because any form can end Azumarill's sweep immediately.
- I really would like to see Mega Venusaur have its own separate section because it is a true counter. It can switch in on the Belly Drum and always OHKO Azumarill with Sludge Bomb.
- Volcanion really should also get its own section, since it too can switch into the Belly Drum and then OHKO with Sludge Wave.
- Add an example for both the Poison- and the Electric-type sections of an offensive threat. Even something like Gengar or Thundurus is fine.

Nice work, QC 1/3

just a few comments, implement what you want, if you disagree with anything don't implement

[overview]

mention huge power
mention its bulk allowing it to set up bd easier
mention reliance of aqua jet
mention that superpower has the drawback of lowering azu's defenses which can make it susceptible to opposing priority or faster foes

[set details]

mention huge power and what it is for

[usage tips]

azu should set up on forced/predicted switches
azu should be used as a late game cleaner more than a wallbreaker
knock off should be spammed to weaken opposing team

[c&c]

**Poison-types**: Azumarill's weakness to Poison-types such as Gengar prevents it from setting up on them because it's going to take a lot of damage from their stab moves .

**Electric-types**: Electric-types such as Thundurus hit Azumarill really hard due to its weakness and prevent it from setting up on them. they don't want to be hit by a +6 aqua jet / knock off / play rough on the switch though

**Status**: Any status can strongly cripple Azumarill's ability to sweep or it's longevity. be specific; burns cripple azumarill's power, poison (toxic) wears it down a lot, paralysis slows it down even more etc

In the set details I would just change "Huge Power doubles Azumarill's Attack stat and makes it an amazing wallbreaker" to "Huge Power doubles Azumarill's Attack to make up for it's abysmal base 50 stat."

Saying "amazing wall breaker" makes it sound like BD azu is an inherent one when it really isn't. It doesn't really break through anything that it doesn't hit SE against so that part of the statement leads people on a bit.

Other than that it looks really good. Eien covered a fuck ton as per usual. QC 2/3

Looks good. Just a couple comments. Implement and QC 3/3!

In set details mention that the HP EVs give it an even amount of HP for BD (double check the given spread does!)

Fix the remaining bullet point in Usage Tips. I'd also make a brief mention of Azumarill using BD to wall break in the mid game if it isn't needed to clean in the late game (e.g., if you plan to win w/ Scarf Toge or Diancie).

In Teammates section, mention Clefable as a status absorber b/c of Magic Guard since you talk about status crippling Azu.

Add Water Absorb Pokemon in the Check/Counters. Something like Seismitoad or Toxicroak can prevent it from using priority and bop it w/ a SE Poison move.
