[OVERVIEW]

**Fairy**:

Upon Mega Evolving, Diancie gains amazing Attack and Special Attack combined with a great Speed stat, making it a dangerous mixed attacking threat to many teams. However, it loses some of its bulk. Its Fairy / Rock typing gives it key resistances to Fire and Flying, and allows it to hit every type except Steel for at least neutral damage, but it does give it weaknesses to Water, Ground, Grass, and Steel. It can, however, run a move to hit Steel-types with in Hidden Power Fire or Earth Power. Mega Diancie has access to a very reliable Fairy-type STAB attack in Moonblast, as well as a Rock-type STAB move in Diamond Storm, which allows it to check Fire- and Flying-types. It also has access to setup moves such as Calm Mind and Rock Polish, but running one of those means it has to sacrifice Protect. Despite its great Speed, Mega Diancie has a weakness to some priority moves such as Bullet Punch and Aqua Jet. Its Magic Bounce ability allows it to reflect status moves such as Thunder Wave and Toxic, as well as entry hazards. Before Mega Evolving, Diancie's Speed is very low, so it has to rely on Protect to get the boost in Speed. Although Mega Diancie has decent Defense and Special Defense, its HP is very low, which means it can't take non-resisted hits that well.

Moves
========

Moonblast is Mega Diancie's strongest Fairy-type attack and does a lot of damage to most Pokemon that don't resist it due to Mega Diancie's amazing Special Attack. It's great for hitting Fighting-types such as Keldeo and Dragon-types such as Mega Garchomp. Diamond Storm is Mega Diancie's secondary STAB move, which is very useful for hitting Bug-, Flying-, and Fire-types such as Mega Pinsir, Zapdos, and Volcanion, as well as specially defensive walls. Hidden Power Fire hits Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Scizor on the switch, but it misses out on hitting Heatran. Alternatively, Earth Power can be used for hitting non-Air Balloon Heatran, although Diamond Storm deals with any offensive variants of Heatran pretty well and hitting Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Scizor is more important. Protect allows Diancie to safely Mega Evolve and gain its base 110 Speed, as well as scout for which move Choice-locked Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Diggersby will go for.

Set Details
========

Full investment in Speed with a Hasty nature allows Mega Diancie to be as fast as possible. 20 EVs in Attack allows Mega Diancie to almost always 2HKO offensive Heatran with Diamond Storm. The remaining EVs go into Special Attack to increase the damage output of Mega Diancie's special moves and allow Mega Diancie to OHKO offensive Mega Scizor with Hidden Power Fire. A Hasty nature allows Mega Diancie to always survive Sludge Wave from Life Orb Gengar and Thunderbolt from Life Orb Thundurus after Stealth Rock.

Usage Tips
========

In pretty much every matchup, Diancie should Mega Evolve as soon as possible so it can prevent entry hazards from going up and status from being spread. It's guaranteed to get off a safe Mega Evolution with Protect, although that's very predictable and can be taken advantage of. Mega Diancie can use Protect to its advantage in any point of the game to scout Choice item-using foes and stall out weather such as sand against Ground teams with Hippowdon and Excadrill, rain against Swift Swim Water teams, and sun against Mega Charizard Y teams. Mega Diancie should be used to wallbreak early-game in some matchups such as against Flying, Bug, and Water so one of its teammates can clean up late-game. However, it can also serve as a late-game cleaner itself in matchups such as against Fighting and Dragon if faster threats have been removed, and as a result, needs to be kept healthy. Due to its lack of recovery and poor bulk, switching it in on strong attackers should be avoided. Mega Diancie can take advantage of its Magic Bounce ability and get free switches to bounce back entry hazards and status moves from passive Pokemon like Shuckle and Sableye. In matchups such as against Flying and Grass, revealing Hidden Power Fire early should be avoided to potentially lure in and KO Pokemon such as Skarmory and Ferrothorn, which wall Mega Diancie if it's not running Hidden Power Fire. Despite Mega Diancie's great wallbreaking capabilities, it's threatened by mixed walls such as Porygon2.

Team Options
========

Klefki is a great partner for Mega Diancie because of its ability to set up Reflect and Light Screen, which let Mega Diancie take hits better, set up Spikes, which let Mega Diancie wallbreak a lot more easily, spread paralysis, which Mega Diancie appreciates, and serve as a semi-reliable check to Mega Scizor if it's running Foul Play. Klefki also has an immunity to Poison and takes neutral damage from Steel-type attacks, which make it valuable for any Fairy-type team. Clefable also has the ability to spread paralysis with Thunder Wave, but it can also set up Stealth Rock to potentially put the foe in range of Mega Diancie's attacks. An Unaware variant of Clefable can serve as a reliable check to Mega Scizor, while a Calm Mind variant can serve as a sweeper that benefits from Mega Diancie's ability to get rid of Zapdos and Skarmory. Azumarill's physical wallbreaking capabilities allow it to get past specially defensive walls that may be an issue for Mega Diancie. Azumarill is also capable of dealing with Heatran and Empoleon, which are potential threats to Mega Diancie. Its access to Knock Off allows it to cripple Chansey and Porygon2, as well as hit Mew, all of which are great counters to Mega Diancie. Azumarill also appreciates Mega Diancie's ability to get rid of Pokemon such as Volcanion and Skarmory, which threaten its Belly Drum sweep. Togekiss has a Ground immunity, which helps Mega Diancie's Ground weakness. Another valuable thing that Togekiss possesses is the ability to threaten Steel-types with its access to Fire Blast and Aura Sphere, which it does more effectively when holding a Babiri Berry. Togekiss appreciates Mega Diancie's ability to bounce back Stealth Rock due to its weakness to Rock. A Nasty Plot variant of Togekiss can break through walls such as Mew, Porygon2, and Chansey, which Mega Diancie has issues dealing with. Choice Specs Sylveon is a great partner for Mega Diancie because it can break Pokemon such as Mew and Gliscor. Sylveon and Mega Diancie can split the coverage between themselves, as Mega Diancie can run Earth Power for hitting Heatran, while Sylveon can use Hidden Power Fire to hit the likes of Scizor and Ferrothorn. Choice Scarf Gardevoir is a solid partner due to its Trace ability, which lets it check Sand Rush Excadrill and Swift Swim Kingdra. Gardevoir is also able to check Poison-types such as Nidoking and Mega Venusaur, which threaten Mega Diancie, although physically defensive variants of Mega Venusaur almost never get 2HKOed by Gardevoir's Psyshock. Gardevoir's access to Healing Wish allows Mega Diancie to be played more recklessly and be healed up later in the game. Whimsicott is another great partner for Mega Diancie because it checks two of its weaknesses in Water and Ground thanks to its Grass typing. It can also use Encore against setup sweepers, such as Mega Scizor and Volcarona, and spread paralysis with Stun Spore.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Fairy**:

Mega Diancie can use Stealth Rock over Protect if preferring to run a Calm Mind variant of Clefable rather than a support one, but it really needs the safe Mega Evolution. It can also use a setup move such as Calm Mind or Rock Polish over Protect, but its Speed and wallbreaking capabilities are already very solid so it's better off running Protect to always get a safe Mega Evolution, as well as stall out sand turns against Ground-type teams. Hidden Power Ice is an option to lure in and KO Gliscor and Landorus. A non-Mega Diancie can be used on Trick Room Fairy teams as a lead Trick Room setter with Stealth Rock and Explosion.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy**:

**Chansey**: Despite Mega Diancie's amazing Attack and access to Diamond Storm, Chansey still counters it very well due to its massive bulk and the fact that Seismic Toss 3HKOs Mega Diancie.

**Mixed Walls**: Mixed walls such as Mew, Gliscor, and Porygon2 can eat up Mega Diancie's attacks and slowly beat it. In Mew's case, it stalls out Mega Diancie with burn damage from Will-O-Wisp thanks to its Synchronize ability.

**Scizor**: Both regular Scizor and Mega Scizor always carry Bullet Punch, which OHKOs Mega Diancie, but they can't switch in due to the possibility of Hidden Power Fire.

**Excadrill**: On Steel-type teams, Excadrill is almost always running a Choice Scarf, which allows it to outspeed and OHKO Mega Diancie, and on Ground-type teams, Excadrill is a Sand Rush variant, which also lets it outspeed and KO Mega Diancie.

**Steel-types**: Although Mega Diancie has the coverage to beat some Steel-types, other ones like Choice Scarf Excadrill, Iron Head Skarmory, specially defensive Jirachi, Air Balloon Heatran, and Empoleon can potentially beat it. Skarmory and Heatran can only beat it if it's lacking the appropriate coverage move, however, as only Hidden Power Fire variants beat Skarmory, and only Earth Power variants beat Heatran.

**Grass-types**: Mega Diancie's weakness to Grass leaves it vulnerable to faster or bulky Grass-types such as Serperior, Celebi, and Choice Scarf Rotom-C.

**Water-types**: Water-types that either outspeed Mega Diancie or can tank any hit from it such as Starmie, Empoleon, and Choice Scarf Volcanion are good checks due to Mega Diancie's weakness to Water.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types such as Landorus and Hippowdon can survive one attack from Mega Diancie and revenge kill it with their STAB attacks.

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Mega Diancie's poor bulk, faster Pokemon or Choice Scarf users such as Landorus-T, Volcanion, and Magnezone can revenge kill it, but they don't switch into Mega Diancie's attacks very well. However, Mega Diancie can use Protect to scout what move Choice Scarf users will lock themselves into and make the appropriate switch.

Overview:
- You mention Normal as a type that Fairy / Rock resists, but I can't think of any notable Pokemon that this is actually useful for because Diggersby's Return still 2HKOes Mega Diancie. The Rock typing makes Mega Diancie take neutral damage from Poison-type attacks, but all Poison-type Pokemon have better coverage to hit Mega Diancie with anyway, except for Gengar.
- You should talk about its role as the only mixed wallbreaker for Fairy teams, which can make it difficult to check.
- Hidden Power Fire isn't a coverage move.
- Say that Magic Bounce reflects, instead of avoids, those moves.

Set:
- 32 Atk Mega Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 159-187 (49.2 - 57.8%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO
- It will take double the EVs to bring the damage up to a guaranteed 2HKO, so we don't want to do that.
- 20 Atk Mega Diancie Diamond Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 157-186 (48.6 - 57.5%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO
- We can save 12 Atk EVs to lose only 2.8% to 2HKO, which I think is probably worth it. We'd have to say "almost always 2HKO" anyway, because 96.9% is not 100%.
- Is there a specific Pokemon that Naive is chosen over Hasty for? If you run Hasty you always avoid the OHKO from Life Orb Gengar's Sludge Wave and you can always survive Life Orb Thundurus's Thunderbolt after Stealth Rock damage.

name: All-out Attacker
move 1: Moonblast
move 2: Diamond Storm
move 3: Hidden Power Fire / Earth Power
move 4: Protect
item: Diancite
ability: Magic Bounce
nature: Naive (Change to Hasty?)
evs: 20 Atk / 236 SpA / 252 Spe

Moves:
- Earth Power is really just for Heatran. Empoleon can't be 2HKOed and will deal a ridiculous amount with Scald. Empoleon isn't a threat on the level of Heatran either.
- Note that Hidden Power Fire is generally preferred because Diamond Storm can take on offensive Heatran quite well, but Earth Power is a much more reliable answer that can take on even defensive sets.
- Absolutely add Skarmory as another target for Hidden Power Fire, given how difficult it can be to break in most cases. It should be noted that Earth Power leaves Mega Diancie walled by Skarmory.
- Give a few targets for Diamond Storm: Volcanion is OHKOED after Stealth Rock damage and Mega Pinsir of course is always OHKOed, you can also add Zapdos as a target in regards to special walls.

Set Details:
- Change the reasoning for the Attack EVs to be "almost always" and the number to 20.
- Probably should mention maximizing Special Attack helps it always get the OHKO on Mega Scizor.
- Explain Naive over Hasty if you keep Naive. Otherwise you can use my explanation for Hasty above. I don't know what Naive does.

Usage Tips:
- I think you meant to get off its Mega Evolution as soon as possible to allow it to prevent those things. Mention that Protect can be used to safely get off the Mega Evolution. You should note that Protect can be predictable though.
- Adding onto Protect, mention that it's a great tool for scouting Choice item-using foes and stalling out weather conditions such as rain.
- Protect isn't slashed or otherwise replaceable on the set, so you don't need to say the line about when not using Protect.
- I'd note that late-game, Mega Diancie can transition to be a pretty reliable cleaner once faster threats are eliminated. As a result, it should try to avoid taking too much damage, which serves a dual purpose, as Mega Diancie is very easily revenge killed by priority.
- Mention that Mega Diancie should take advantage of its Magic Bounce to get free switches and to bounce back entry hazards and status moves from the likes of Shuckle and Sableye.
- Mega Diancie should avoid revealing Hidden Power Fire too early to help lure in Pokemon such as Skarmory that often wall sets without it.
- While Mega Diancie is a great wallbreaker, it does have to avoid mixed walls such as Porygon2, as its main wallbreaking ability comes from its mixed strength.

Team Options:
- Note that Klefki is a semi-reliable Mega Scizor check, which Mega Diancie can only catch on the switch, if it runs Foul Play.
- I'd include Clefable's many other sets as well. An Unaware set is a very reliable check to Mega Scizor while Mega Diancie in turn can protect it from entry hazards and status effects that it is easily crippled by. It can also run a Calm Mind set to serve as a sweeper, which appreciates Mega Diancie's help in breaking down many of its checks, such as Zapdos and Skarmory.
- Mention that Azumarill's Knock Off helps it cripple the Normal defensive core of Chansey and Porygon2 while also taking out Mew, all great counters to Mega Diancie. As a Belly Drum set also benefits significantly from Mega Diancie removing its checks, such as Skarmory and Volcanion.
- Mention that Mega Diancie's ability to reflect Stealth Rock is a huge boon for Togekiss.
- Add that Mega Diancie and Sylveon can split the coverage between themselves, as Mega Diancie can run Earth Power to check Heatran while Sylveon can carry Hidden Power Fire to still check Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn.
- Gardevoir's Trace also helps it check Swift Swim Kingdra. (May or may not want to remove Gengar if you choose to go through with Hasty idk) Might want to add Nidoking as an example here. I'd also note that Choice Scarf Gardevoir is only capable of checking specially defensive Mega Venusaur; physically defensive Mega Venusaur almost never gets 2HKOed by Psyshock.

Other Options:
Note* this is temporary because we don't have a Diancie analysis and it is not nearly high priority enough to write one up:
- Mention that a non-Mega Diancie can use Trick Room as one of the most reliable setters on Fairy. It can run Stealth Rock and Explosion, making it a very good suicide lead for Trick Room teams.

Checks and Counters:
- Chansey counters, not just checks, Mega Diancie and can slowly take it down with Seismic Toss.
- Add Skarmory to Steel-types. You should note that Skarmory cannot beat Hidden Power Fire sets while Heatran cannot beat Earth Power sets but both wall variants that lack the appropriate coverage. Specially defensive Jirachi also counters all Mega Diancie, taking less than half from even sets with Earth Power.
- You should replace your Special Walls section with Mixed Walls, which are really what Mega Diancie struggles with. These would be Mew, Gliscor, and Porygon2.
- Give examples of Grass-types: Mega Venusaur is the biggest one. It always switches in very easily and forces Mega Diancie out. Cradily is another great option. For faster Grass-types, either Choice Scarf Rotom-C or Celebi will work.
- Again, need examples. Faster Water-types could be Starmie or Choice Scarf Keldeo while bulky Water-types could be Alomomola.
- Add Ground-types. I think only specially defensive Gastrodon switches in safely, but they can easily revenge kill Mega Diancie with their STAB attacks. Good examples could include Landorus and Hippowdon.
- Add faster Pokemon. Choice Scarf users are very good at revenge killing Mega Diancie, due to its low bulk, so you could use Volcanion or Landorus-T here. Might also mention the weather users in Kingdra and Excadrill.

Want to discuss some other things as well, so hit me up on Skype or Showdown! when you're free and see me online. After we talk and implementations, QC 1/3

Looks good. Just some things to nitpick over, then QC 2/3.

Overview
– remove "in Earth Power" or add HP Fire when talking about coverage to hit Steel types. We recommend HP Fire over EP in the set, so there is no reason to emphasize EP in the overview.

Usage Tips
– Instead of "stalling out weather such as sand and rain", specifically mention the types/'mons since Sand/Rain has a specific meaning in Monotype: "stalling out Sand against Ground teams with Hippowdon and Excadrill and Rain against Swift Swim Water teams.

These two lines contradict one another:
– Mega Diancie should be used to wallbreak early-game so one of its teammates can clean up late-game.
– However, it can also serve as a late-game cleaner itself if faster threats have been removed and as a result needs to be kept healthy.

I know what you're saying, but you need to be explicit about it. Provide some examples of what types it would typically wall break against vs. what types it will often clean against. I don't play Fairy very much, so I'm not familiar with the nuances of the matchups. Tentatively, I'd say it breaks against things like Flying, Bug, or Water and cleans against Psychic, Fighting, Normal, or Dragon? Fix the types if I'm wrong.

– "...and status moves from Pokemon like Shuckle..." -> "...and status moves from passive Pokemon like Shuckle..."

– "In certain matchups, revealing Hidden Power Fire"... Once again, be explicit about the matchup. I think this only applies against Flying teams that use Skarm to check Diancie?

Checks and Counters
Mention that Diancie can use Protect scout moves in the section about Scarfers.

  • Mention how Protect guarantees base 110 speed
Set details
  • Say offensive as Hidden Power Fire being OHKO on Mega Scizor because a bulk Scizor can live
Usage Tips
  • Add Sun with Mega Charizard-Y because fairy is better of without sun

Other Options
  • I think regular Diancie needs to be here from what Eien has told me implement his check under other options
  • Mention Hidden Power Ice as it a good lure for Gliscor and Lando-T
Checks and Counters
  • Mention how Chansey 3 hit Kos Mega Diancie with Seismic Toss
  • what do mixed walls do to retaliate?

  • Mention Choice Scarf Magnezone under Choice Scarf and mnetion how it doesn't switch in
  • Under Steel types Skarmory needs Iron Head to check Mega Diancie
  • Talk about which specific coverage moves that each Pokemon on Heatran and Skarmory
  • Grass and Water type checks and counters are way too similar and lack detail and does not mention Choice Scarfers
  • Alomomola is not a good check because it doesn't 2 Hit Ko with Scald and takes 236 SpA Mega Diancie Moonblast vs. 120 HP / 252 SpD Alomomola: 225-265 (44.9 - 52.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

**Excadrill**: On Steel-type teams, (AC) Excadrill is almost always running a Choice Scarf, (AC) which allows it to outspeed and OHKO Mega Diancie, and on Ground-type teams, (AC) its Excadrill is a Sand Rush variant, (AC) which also lets it outspeed and knock it out KO Mega Diancie.

**Steel-types**: Although Mega Diancie has the coverage to beat some Steel-types, other ones like Choice Scarf Excadrill, Iron Head Skarmory, specially defensive Jirachi, Air Balloon Heatran, and Empoleon can potentially beat it. Skarmory and Heatran can only beat it if it's lacking the appropriate coverage move, however, as only Hidden Power Fire variants beat Skarmory, and Earth Power variants beat Heatran.

**Grass-types**: Mega Diancie's weakness to Grass leaves it vulnerable to faster or bulky Grass-types such as Serperior, Celebi, and Choice Scarf Rotom-C.

**Water-types**: Water-types that either outspeed Mega Diancie or can tank any hit from it such as Starmie, Empoleon, (AC) and Choice Scarf Volcanion are good checks due to Mega Diancie's weakness to Water.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types such as Landorus-I and Hippowdon can live survive one attack from Mega Diancie and revenge kill it with their STAB attacks.

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Mega Diancie's poor bulk, faster Pokemon or Choice Scarf users such as Landorus-T, Volcanion, and Magnezone can revenge kill it, but they don't switch into Mega Diancie's attacks very well on Mega Diancie's attacks. However, Mega Diancie can use Protect to scout what move Choice Scarf users will lock themselves into, (RC) and make the appropriate switch.

[OVERVIEW]

Moves
========

Alternatively, Earth Power can be used for hitting non-Air Balloon Heatran, although Diamond Storm deals well with any offensive variants of Heatran pretty well and hitting Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Scizor is more important. Protect allows Diancie to safely Mega Evolve and gain its base 110 Speed, as well as scout for which move Choice-locked Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Diggersby will go for.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

However, it can also serve as a late-game cleaner itself in matchups such as against Fighting and Dragon if faster threats have been removed,(AC) and as a result, needs to be kept healthy.

========

Its access to Knock Off allows it to cripple Chansey and Porygon2, as well as hit Mew, bothall of which are great counters to Mega Diancie. Azumarill also appreciates Mega Diancie's ability to get rid of Pokemon such as Volcanion and Skarmory, which threaten its Belly Drum sweep. Togekiss has a Ground immunity (-space), which helps Mega Diancie's Ground weakness. Choice Specs Sylveon is a great partner for Mega Diancie because it can break Pokemon such as Mew and Gliscor that Mega Diancie has issues dealing with.

Other Options
=============

**Fairy**:

Mega Diancie can use Stealth Rock over Protect if preferring to run a Calm Mind variant of Clefable rather than a support one, but it really needs the safe Mega Evolution. It can also use a setup move such as Calm Mind or Rock Polish over Protect, but it'(apostrophe)s Speed and wallbreaking capabilities are already very solid so it's better off running Protect to always get a safe Mega Evolution, as well as stall out sand turns against Ground-type teams. Hidden Power Ice is an option to lure in and KO Gliscor and Landorus. A non-Mega Diancie can be used on Trick Room Fairy teams as a lead Trick Room setter with Stealth Rock and Explosion.

Checks and Counters
===================

However, Mega Diancie can use Protect to scout what move Choice Scarf users will lock themselves into and make the appropriate switch.

looks fine, 2/2
