[OVERVIEW]

**Fairy**:
+ Can check Poison-Types bar Skuntank and Drapion with its STAB Psyshock.
+ Has access to some support moves that other Fairies don't get such as Destiny Bond and Will-O-Wisp.
+ Amazingly good 165 SpAtk which along with Pixilate makes Mega Gardevoir a hard hitting wallbreaker.
+ Decent Base 100 Speed which is faster than most Fairies which allows it to not be dead weight against offensive teams
+ Great offensive move pool with access to moves like Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, and Energy Ball which can allow it to deal super effective damage or at least neutral damage to all sorts of different types.
- Its pitiful 68 HP and decent base speed of 100 leaves it weak to faster revenge killers and priority, most notably Bullet Punch.
- Steel-Types can switch in onto nearly all of Mega Gardevoir's attacks and force it to switch out, one thing to note is that Mega Scizor can Pursuit trap Mega Gardevoir.

Moves
========

  • Hyper Voice and Psyshock give Mega Gardevoir her two STAB moves, one being more used than the other. Hyper Voice is very spammable move after mega evolving due to it turning into a Fairy-Type Base 117 STAB attack which deals great damage even to resists bar Heatran. Psyshock allows Mega Gardevoir to hit dedicated special walls like Chansey on their weaker Defense which can allow Mega Gardevoir to break through them.
  • Focus Blast grants Mega Gardevoir Fighting coverage to hit the Steel-Types that resist both of Gardevoir's STABs like Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Excadrill.
  • Taunt allows Mega Gardevoir to beat Chansey, Porygon2, and Mew 1v1 by preventing them from using Soft-Boiled, Recover, and Roost respectively. Will-O-Wisp can be used to burn Steel-Types on the switch in allowing Mega Gardevoir to handle them much more easier. Substitute makes Mega Gardevoir much harder to revenge kill, protects it from status, and eases predictions.

Set Details
========

  • Trace is the preferred ability as it allows Gardevoir to make use of the opponent's ability against them before mega evolving such as tracing Heatran's Flash Fire to counter specially defensive variants lacking Flash Cannon, intimidating Landorus-T and Gyarados, and preventing Manectric from using its STAB with Lightning Rod.
  • Trace can also allow Mega Gardevoir to revenge kill Swift Swim, Chlorophyll, and Sand Rush pokemon such as Excadrill and Kingdra.
  • The 16 HP and 8 Defense EV investment allows Mega Gardevoir to avoid the 2HKO from Latios' Life Orb Psyshock, 252 Speed EVs and Timid Nature allows Mega Gardevoir speed tie with other positive natured Base 100s such as Mega Medicham and non-Choice Scarf Jirachi. The final 232 EVs are placed into Special Attack allowing Mega Gardevoir to still hit hard even without having max investment.

Usage Tips
========

  • This set works best versus balanced and stall monos, destroying them with Mega Gardevoir's STAB Hyper Voice, defeating dedicated special walls with Taunt and Psyshock, along with nailing most Steel-Types super effectively with Focus Blast.
  • Mega Gardevoir can prove useful against nearly any mono with the proper coverage as most monos lack a resistance to it. The only mono that can cause Mega Gardevoir problems are Steel Mono, as Mega Scizor can defeat her with Technician-boosted Bullet Punch, Scarf Jirachi can outspeed and OHKO with Iron Head, and Doublade can force her to switch out due to Doublade resisting or being immune to all of Mega Gardevoir's moves.
  • Most times, Mega Gardevoir wants to avoid staying in with physical attackers as most can OHKO it, examples of these include Mega Scizor and Scarf Jirachi, Scarf Landorus-T and Sand Rush Excadrill ( after mega evolving), and Darmanitan and Entei. However, Mega Gardevoir's decent Special Defense allows it to switch in onto special attackers such as Keldeo and Thundurus.

Team Options
========

  • Hazards can help Mega Gardevoir wall break as hazards give Mega Gardevoir the ability to OHKO or 2HKO most things it couldn't previously such as Chansey and Porygon2. Clefable and Klefki are good examples of Fairy-Type hazard setters.
  • Klefki's and Clefable's Thunder Wave can help slow down the opposing team, allowing Mega Gardevoir outspeed things like Choice Scarf Jirachi, Gengar, and Darmanitan in which would be able to outspeed Mega Gardevoir and OHKO it.
  • Choice Band Azumarill's wall breaking capabilities makes it a great partner as it can break apart dedicated special walls for Mega Gardevoir while Mega Gardevoir breaks physical walls for Azumarill.
  • Klefki can provide Gardevoir Thunder Wave support and as well as being able to set up screens for Mega Gardevoir. Klefki can also set up Spikes which can help wear down walls that can wall Mega Gardevoir like Chansey and Porygon2. Klefki also is immune to Poison-Type moves allowing it to switch into said moves for Mega Gardevoir.

Other Options
=============

**Fairy**:
  • Psychic can be used over Psyshock for more damage output however Psychic is inferior to Psyshock as Psyshock can hit Chansey and Porygon2 much harder than Psychic can.
  • Hidden Power Fire can be used to hit Mega Scizor, Jirachi, and Skarmory for super effective damage however Focus Blast does more in the long run and allows Mega Gardevoir to hit Heatran while Hidden Power Fire leaves Mega Gardevoir countered by Heatran.
  • Calm Mind can be used to make Mega Gardevoir hit even harder however Mega Gardevoir's frailness usually leaves unable to set up Calm Mind.
  • Shadow Ball can be used to hit Jirachi and Victini however that is all Shadow Ball hits rendering it far less superior than Focus Blast.

**Type Two**:
List some options for the Pokemon user that are plausible but not always recommended due to being either not consistent enough or too outclassed by other Pokemon in the metagame.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy**:
  • Steel-Types such as Jirachi, Mega Scizor, and Heatran can switch into all of Mega Gardevoir's attacks bar Focus Blast and force Gardevoir to switch. However, all must be wary of Focus Blast and some must be wary of Will-O-Wisp.
  • Even though Psyshock hits most Poison-Types for Mega Gardevoir, faster Poison-Types such as Gengar and Choice Scarf Nidoking can deal heavy damage or KO Mega Gardevoir if they get a free switch in.
  • Most Fire-Types like Victini can switch in onto all of Mega Gardevoir's attacks bar Shadow Ball and proceed to KO it, Heatran, who can live one Focus Blast and proceed to hit Mega Gardevoir with Flash Cannon.

Insert Threat Here: Describe why the Pokemon is a threat.

Hi. I'm aware that this is still in WIP, but I unfortunately noticed that a very significant portion of this analysis is plagiarized from the OU analysis currently on the Smogon Pokedex. I'll cite the most blatant lines as proof, but I believe almost every line contains content from the OU analysis and is simply paraphrased. I'm going to have to request that this be taken down now.

Tagging wishes, baconbagon, scpinion, and Shiba to lock this.

Overview:
Yours: "Decent Base 100 Speed which is faster than most Fairies which allows it to not be dead weight against offensive teams"
OU: "...Gardevoir also has a decent Speed stat, which doesn't make it dead weight against offensive teams."

Yours: "Great offensive move pool with access to moves like Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, and Energy Ball which can allow it to deal super effective damage or at least neutral damage to all sorts of different types."
OU: "Gardevoir also has a ... great movepool which lets it potentially hit anything neutrally or super effectively."

Yours: "Its pitiful 68 HP and decent base speed of 100 leaves it weak to faster revenge killers and priority, most notably Bullet Punch."
OU: "An only decent base 100 Speed coupled with terrible Defense also makes Gardevoir very easy to revenge kill with physical attackers and common strong priority moves, especially Bullet Punch."

Moves:
Yours: "Psyshock allows Mega Gardevoir to hit dedicated special walls like Chansey on their weaker Defense which can allow Mega Gardevoir to break through them."
OU: "Psyshock hits special walls, most notably Chansey, on their Defense, allowing Gardevoir to break through them."

Yours: "Substitute makes Mega Gardevoir much harder to revenge kill, protects it from status, and eases predictions."
OU: "Substitute ... makes Gardevoir harder to revenge kill, eases prediction, and protects it from status moves."

Set Details:
Yours: "Trace is the preferred ability as it allows Gardevoir to make use of the opponent's ability against them before mega evolving such as tracing Heatran's Flash Fire to counter specially defensive variants lacking Flash Cannon, intimidating Landorus-T and Gyarados, and preventing Manectric from using its STAB with Lightning Rod."
OU: "Trace is the preferred ability before Mega Evolution, as it makes Gardevoir capable of turning a foe's ability against them. Some example of this include countering specially defensive Heatran with Taunt ... taking advantage of Manectric's Lightning Rod, Intimidating Landorus-T and Gyarados..."

Usage Tips:
Yours: "This set works best versus balanced and stall monos, destroying them with Mega Gardevoir's STAB Hyper Voice, defeating dedicated special walls with Taunt and Psyshock, along with nailing most Steel-Types super effectively with Focus Blast."
OU: "This set works best against stall and balance, destroying a lot of teams by just clicking Hyper Voice, using Focus Blast against Steel-types, and using Psyshock together with Taunt to get past dedicated special walls such as Chansey..."

Checks and Counters:
Yours: "Steel-Types such as Jirachi, Mega Scizor, and Heatran can switch into all of Mega Gardevoir's attacks bar Focus Blast and force Gardevoir to switch. However, all must be wary of Focus Blast and some must be wary of Will-O-Wisp."
OU: "Steel-types: Although some of them fear Focus Blast or Will-O-Wisp and thus can't switch in safely, if they get a free switch in, Steel-types such as Scizor, Mega Metagross, Jolly Excadrill, Jirachi, and Choice Scarf Magnezone can easily force Gardevoir out with their super effective STAB moves."

Yours: "Even though Psyshock hits most Poison-Types for Mega Gardevoir, faster Poison-Types such as Gengar and Choice Scarf Nidoking can deal heavy damage or KO Mega Gardevoir if they get a free switch in."
OU: "Poison-types: Gardevoir's Psyshock hits Poison-types for a huge amount of damage, but faster Poison-types, specifically Gengar and Mega Beedrill, can both easily KO it, provided they get a free switch in."

Yours: "Most Fire-Types like Victini can switch in onto all of Mega Gardevoir's attacks bar Shadow Ball and proceed to KO it, Heatran, who can live one Focus Blast and proceed to hit Mega Gardevoir with Flash Cannon."
OU: "Fire-types: Fire-types resist Gardevoir's Fairy-type STAB, and most Fire-types can hit back very hard. The most notable ones are Victini, which is a good answer to non-Shadow Ball sets, and Heatran, which can take one Focus Blast and hit back with its Fire-type STAB moves, Flash Cannon"
